Raven hadn’t barely spoken a word after the incident with the trolls. After the adrenaline had left her, the shock of it all began to set in. The fear and terror of things had left her fairly quickly, this place was, after all, exactly where she’d often wished she could escape to. A fantasy world away from her real life where she could go on adventures, have magic, and no one would really know of her past or who she was. Of course she had Shae, but even she didn’t know much about her after high school. What Raven wasn’t expecting was how difficult a battle actually was and not even physically. In D&D it was easy to kill creatures you came across while playing. They didn’t have a real face, didn’t actually breathe air, and didn’t possess an actual soul. This was real, though, and those trolls did have faces, breathed air, and they had some form of soul.

She’d stared at the impaled troll for a long while after everything ended, not hearing anything anyone said as she’d begun to feel ill. She’d killed it, she’d taken a life and it was making her sick. Of course if she hadn’t done anything to help then who's to say what would have happened. Kharne may have been able to eventually win, but there was the chance of the troll killing him. Of the other troll killing Annya and then both trolls killing her, Shae, and Ismael. Better to kill the one then risk being killed along with the rest of your party. That didn’t change the fact, however, that Raven normally avoided killing anything. She even refused to kill a spider even though she’s deathly afraid of them. Who would this world change her into?

They’d made it to River Port and Raven would have marveled at the cute little port, but she was still lost in her thoughts. She was able to answer any questions asked of her, but the answers were rather simple and she’d fall quiet right after. Dusk came around and Annya seemed to decide it was time to get out of the inn and go shopping. She would take Raven and Shae and Kharene would take Ismael. Raven didn’t protest at all and simply followed Annya out when she took her hand.

Annya seemed to be in a bubbly mood and Raven wished she could join in. She tried to put a happier expression on her face, but she kept having random intrusive thoughts enter her mind. She hadn’t even noticed the three Shae pointed out as the random thought of how she’d almost become a scene from Attack on Titan entered her mind. Annya had asked what they wanted to do and Saoirse suggested maybe going clothing shopping. That definitely was right up Raven’s alley, but she needed to be in a better mood for that. ”Alcohol.” She said and then quickly realized a one word response wasn’t entirely proper. ”Sorry, I mean I could really use a drink right now. It was a difficult day and alcohol always seems to help put me in a better mood.” She tried to force a smile on her face as she looked to Annya and Shae.

899 Amas.

The young dwarf stood on the doorway. Seconds stretching into eternity as he waited for an answer from the white haired winter beauty. His heart beat so hard on his chest that he could feel the rhythm of his heart in his ears like the war drums of his people. His big brown eyes stared at the fair face of the maiden as she sat on the bed eating her rations. The emotions he saw reflected on her icy blue eyes made his heart break. He had never seen a girl cry. Most dwarven women as strong willed, stubborn and ornery as their male counterparts.
Seeing Rue tear up made him want to tear his own heart out. What made it worse was the realization that he had part in making those crystal like tears smear the snow white face of the fairy. How could he have been so selfish? War would make friends and family loose members. It did not need his help. Bowyn already seemed like he was carrying too much weight on his shoulders. Especially because of the loss of his wings. Rue needed a friend in this cruel world and he had made that friend blame her for trusting him.

The dwarf shook his head as if to get rid of the guilt and foolishness he felt. All these emotions felt strange and overwhelming to him. It was easier to control them when surrounded by stoic dwarves who made drunken war. The din of battle silenced the voices in his head. Helping the wounded made him feel fulfilled. He had a rank and a place in the Legions. Away from them, who was he? The medic gritted his teeth. War was not a place to loose focus. He had made his mind to go after the eternal silence when he heard Rue speak.

Yet, was she speaking to him? Her voice did not seem to be directed in his direction. At first Arn thought that Rue was trying to process out loud what had just happened but then his sharp eyes saw the intelligent glint in the wolf’s eyes when it looked in his direction. Was it suspicion he found in canine eyes? Was it judgment? The dwarf furrowed his brow. His thick eyebrows touching together like friendly forests.

“…Arn shouldn’t be alone. I mean, that has to be horrible to find out right? We should give him a chance. Fool me once, shame on you and then twice on me. Isn’t that the saying?”

Rue’s words made a lump stick in the young soldier’s throat. He tried to swallow a couple times but to no avail. A pit in his stomach was followed but a sort of warm feeling proceeding from his chest. He was a medic and he knew that what he was experiencing was only the physical manifestation of emotions. It had touched the dwarf’s heart that the lovely fairy had considered his feelings.

She was right. Being alone felt horrible. What was worse is that he was going to walk out on Rue too and leave her alone. He could have punched himself. You don’t run from a fight. You hold your shield firm and brace you feet and grin. He had never resorted to violence. But fighting looked different for different people. “I am a damn medic. My job is to heal people. My job is to make them well. My job is to be there for them.” He took a deep breath almost in sync with Rue’s.

”That would be kind of you. Thank you. I want to find Bowyn, but I don’t want to leave you alone… I don’t know what to do. What if he doesn't come back? I.. I don't think this is your fault.”

Her soft voice brought him back to the humble inn room. A slight smile appeared on his face. “She is brave.” He thought. “Two foolish males have a spat and this lovely lady has to pull our ears to make us behave.” His eyes held nothing but pride. He felt the need to be a better dwarf. Sometimes in war, a delicate flower growing amidst the corpses on a battle field remind you that there are things worth fighting for and protecting. Rue was definitely a worthy example of a beautiful crystal flower.

His voice was gruff with emotion but he cleared his throat. “Miss Rue, lets search for Bowyn together.” He gave her as comforting as smile as he could muster in his awkwardness. “He needs you. I appreciate the sentiment but I did have some part to play.” Arn shrugged his thick shoulders. “There was much truth in what Bowyn said. It is hard to make allies if they can’t trust you. We can kill two birds with one stone, we may be able to find Bowyn and some dinner.” Like her, he only risked peeks when looking in her direction, quickly shifting his gaze if her eyes almost met hers. As if they were playing some sort of tag game.

The dwarf followed just a half step behind. Both because her long slender legs and her urgency to find the winter fairy lad propelled her faster than his stubby legs could carry him and also because he did not feel worthy of walking directly by her side. He kept his eyes forward and lied to himself saying he did not look in her direction because he was focused on finding the white haired lad. It was hard for him to ignore how fidgety she was. Rue was worried for her friend and it made sense.

"Do you mind if I fly?"

The medic shook his head and gave her a slight smile. “No miss Rue, I think you may have a better vantage point. I will try to follow you from under her. I am not sure if the people of River Port are used to seeing a fairy in flight but it would not do for somebody to take too much of a liking to you. Me and Moonlight was it? could follow as best we can.” It was clear that the lady needed to clear her head and what better way to do that than being airborne. The medic gave the pretty fairy a confident nod. She needed to feel like she did not have to worry about him despite the emotions that played inside him.

Sophie let out a sigh of relief. She was glad there was a way her family could be spared worrying, but she knew the risk was still there. As they learned so quickly upon arrival, their lives were not guaranteed to them in Avalia. She could very well die here. She rubbed her temples as her mind tried to digest that thought. She decided to push it out of her mind upon failure and glanced over as Rosaria addressed the pixie.

"My name is Alette. I will accept food."The pixie, Alette, said in a matter-of-fact manner with her hands on her hips. However, she soon yawned as her arms suddenly settled. She sleepily flew herself over to sleep on top of Sophie's bear hanging from her backpack.

"It's uhm... A strawberry coated... grain... cracker..."Sophie struggled to describe the pocky to the elven princess as she had no idea what terms would be familiar to her. She settled for taking out a few and handing some to her and Nuallán to try. She nodded as Rosaria offered to tell her about herself and listened with interest. Her heart felt heavy as she heard that the girl's brother was dead. She would be so sad if her own brother had passed. She patted Rosaria's hand comfortingly then listened as the butler also spoke up. Wow centuries... I can't imagine living that long.

Nuallán seemed so proud of his life and who he was. Sophie would have thought someone born into a role might feel trapped and lacking options, but it was almost as if he was born for this and was completely passionate about serving the royal family. She hoped one day she could know who she was with such certainty and feel as he did."Thank you for sharing your stories. My life isn't nearly as interesting. I'm just your average girl...But I can tell you I was studying art before I came here." She glanced over with interest to hear more about Jomari, but he had passed out for a nap.

Equipment: A rouge-ish set of clothing, his dog tags, and a set of faux demihuman Wolf ears, a Ring of Disguise, two rations of food, water flask, a bar of soap and a few other portable hygienic products.

Ismael listened to Kharne, he knew he would be quite knowledgeable, yet to this extent was a bit of a surprise. Ismael knew those who took up the blade would hone their weapon of choice then go down a fine list of others to best expose themselves to the ideas of each and how to fight them. Ismael saw exceptional form and skill from Kharne and was more than satisfied with the information. Ismael nodded and watched with great interest as he witnessed Kharne display moves and skills that truly did help with the decision-making.

Once Kharne finished, Ismael much more knew what he wanted and what he was looking for. Something with enough reach to deal with something like a troll without sacrificing all the benefits of armor trumping, and the accuracy of a smaller weapon. Ismael took up the longsword again as he practiced a few strikes and some of the techniques shown as he thought.

He now started basing his choice upon the idea of what has a higher chance of being dropped upon the battlefield. Spears, swords, and knives were the first things that he thought of. After all, one is a weapon hailed as one of the best weapons, then knives are always fantastic backup weapons. The sword, may they be long, short, or anywhere in-between he knew people would use them, but he knew very little on how to use swords. After a minute of deliberation within his mind, Ismael said while holding up and gesturing to the sword in his hand, "I think I'll be getting this one".

Myra sniffed the strange food Astra had pushed towards her with a rather skeptical expression. A single glance was already enough for Myra to tell that there was no meat on that dish. Upon picking one up and giving a small bite, she quickly noticed that meat wasn't the only thing lacking on that dish. Not only it tasted like almost nothing to her but it also had no substance at all! It was far from nutritive or fulfilling to her. Annoyed, She put the half-bitten bread roll back on the basked, pushing it away as she looked to Astra with an annoyed expression, wondering how much more she would have to 'wait' until she could eat 'real' food.

Just as she was about to complain to Astra again, a woman suddenly put a tankard with a strange liquid inside. Knowing immediately it wasn't water due to the sweet and fragrant smell, Myra warily sniffed the liquid while looking at Vrexen and Astra.
While Vrexen did seem to be as clueless about the liquid as she was, Astra was much more enthusiastic about the liquid, appearing to be very satisfied as she drank the liquid. Curious, Myra leaned forward, opening her mouth as she used her tongue to taste a bit of the strange water.

The very moment her tongue touched the liquid, she quickly pulled her head back, surprised. While the liquid was sweet it was also a bit bitter, it left a strange, unfamiliar hot sensation in her throat as she drank it. Intrigued by the taste, Myra leaned forward again, this time, way less warily as she quickly flicked her tongue, using it to drink the mead. After a few 'sips' though, Myra suddenly heard Astra calling Vrexen with a rather shocked tone after he drank the entire strange liquid in one go. Confused, Myra looked at her own tankard, immediately stopping drinking it, fearing it might be something bad, judging by how shocked Astra was.

Hmm I really need to smoke, this is all too much.’ He thought to himself, He glanced at the group around him and smiled when he looked to his left at Sophie. Caelan began to search the pockets of his clothes, finally grabbing the blunt and a lighter he just realized he had the whole time. This makes my life easier. I thought I forgot this.He thought before lighting his blunt and taking a few puffs. “Before anyone says anything I need this.” Caelan said aloud as he laid his head back, relaxing. “So, What were you all talking about?” He asked, continuing to smoke his blunt.

The odd-tasting beverage that was the mead burned mildly as it went down into the pit of his stomach. Astra could not believe he had chugged the mead seemingly on a whim.

“Hmmm.” Vrexen could not determine whether or not he enjoyed the beverage. At least initially. The sweet taste with a slight bite. Lovely, yet not too inviting. Astra’s loud reaction was almost entirely ignored, and instead of addressing her, he stared at Myra.

“Myra. Why did you only choose now to speak?” The red-faced demon kept his three eyes on her.

Astra simply stared at Vrexen and then at the empty tankard on the table. Mead wasn’t the strongest thing ever, but she was a little afraid of how Vrexen would react to the effects of alcohol. Astra could tell how dangerous he was and remembered how unstable the demon had become on the Malthemoor docks. He was frightening as he was but more so when we transformed.

“I don’t think she’s good at it. Like a babe, y’know. She’s probably been alone for a long time without a soul to talk to.” Astra seemed to speak from the heart she did not possess. A smirk formed on her lips. “Maybe the mead will loosen up her tongue. Come on, drink up.” Astra mocked a toast by raising her tankard up towards Myra before taking another swig.

Vrexen audibly sniffed as his head turned towards the waiter, Lusha walked towards their table carrying their meals.

“The woman is our slave, correct?” Vrexen asked Astra as the waiter set down the dishes with a bewildered expression. The roasted pork belly sizzled on the plates in front of Myra and Vrexen, while the cheesy prawns were presented in an oval serving platter.

“Slave?” She was offended.

“Vrexen…” These two would have her needing to talk their group out of all sorts of trouble! “I’m sorry, he’s drunk... Very drunk.” Astra pointed at Vrexen’s empty tankard with an apologetic expression before eyeing her dish. The only thing I have to look forward to tonight. He WILL sleep on the cold fucking floor!

When Arn announced they could search for Bowyn together, Rue was delighted. She grinned at him with a lopsided smile half filled with tears she forced back. After saying he didn’t mind her flying, Rue nodded and set her cape in the room as the weight would hinder her flight. Arn’s words saying he had a part in the mess rang true., but she was too afraid to admit it. She glanced at him quickly then away as she commented, ”Moonlight is his name, but I call him Moony. I’ll make sure not to fly too fast.” She took steps back into the room, then raced forward and unfurled her wings and flapped them for momentum. She noticed a few of the residents staring at her with awe and surprise, but Rue ignored them.

Moonlight hustled down the steps, taking a few at a time, until he ran out the open door. Rue mimicked him, but instead of going through the door, Rue flew through an open window instead. She would have gone down the steps but she hated to waste anymore time. Besides, her wings ached for flight after being cramped up in the Helius.

Once airborne, Rue felt a chill against her face which instantly helped relax her. She instantly began searching for Bowyn’s white hair amongst the crowd; and then glanced down to find Moonlight right underneath her and staring at her for her next command. ”Keep searching,” She called to Moonlight, who nodded, and then she glanced back for Arn.

Rosaria

Rosaria smiled as Nuallán spoke. His dedication and commitment to the royal family was something she always admired. However she treated him as a friend more than a butler; she did not want him ever feeling uncomfortable. Her attention was caught by Jomari, whose mumble she barely heard. She raised an eyebrow but didn’t comment. He would be difficult to contend with, but she knew patience was a virtue. She knew he had a tough life and was now asking him to do even more difficult things. Perhaps it’d be easier to loosen the leash a bit. Today had been an awful first day, and she planned on making the rest of them better. She sighed as she turned away from him and allowed him to rest. These humans were fragile and unpredictable, and Rosaria knew it was likely she’d deal with a few unwitting participants. She rubbed her temple momentarily and then stopped so the others didn’t question it.

Her attention was turned to Sophie and the pixie. When the pixie introduced herself, she smiled at her kindly. ”Nice to meet you Alette,” she replied to the pixie prior to her going to sleep on a bear hanging from Sophie’s bag. She listened with interest as Sophie explained the food item. ”That sounds really good. I’ve always enjoyed strawberries. We have some of your food back on Earth, but most are native to Avalia.” Her cheeks flushed when Sophie patted her hand after she spoke of Orias. What a sweet girl she was; Rosaria adored her.

Though Sophie didn’t have an adventurous life, she appreciated a similar soul who enjoyed art. ”That sounds great, Sophie, I enjoy art too. I would paint and draw in my free time. I wasn’t ever that good at it, but it was for fun, really. I’m glad you shared it with us and let me know if you need anything, sweetie.” She reached over and took her hand to squeeze it then let go. Rosaria knew the day had to be the hardest for her. The poor dear had been frozen in terror.

She then noticed Caelan waking up and smiled, but then stared in confusion as he took out an object and lit in fire. Curiously she watched, before the scent reached her nostrils. Wrinkling her nose, she ignored it as she accepted his response. It looked like it was similar to zemak. Caelan was an interesting boy himself, and she was curious to hear more about his life but not now. Hounding them and forcing conversation wouldn’t do. ”No worries, Caelan, I understand. I assume it’s something that makes you relax, right? What do you call it on Earth? We call it Zemak here.” She then leaned back and rested her arms as she glanced out the carriage window.

”Nearly there, everyone.” Her voice perked up at the thought of seeing her longtime friend, someone she knew, who would be bearing immense pressure herself. Rosaria swallowed and began peering for signs of any danger. After determining there was none, she relaxed and pulled the curtain back.

Kharne watched Ismael finagle with the longsword. The boy had a good grip. "Another thing to consider with blades, is edge alignment. If your alignment is shoddy the damage will be like getting slapped. Not cut. But we'll work on that." He stated before glancing about the shop. "You might also want to consider a small shield, blocking with a sword is a good way to break it or chip its edge." He continued, a bit hypocritical. But then again his blade was absolutely monstrous and clearly not made of steel.

After a moment of thought he looked down at Ismael and gave a rather authoritative glare. "And for the love of all things combat oriented...do.not.spin. Your back never faces the enemy. I will stab you myself if I see you twirl like a damned dancer." He growled, clearly he had seen it happen enough that he would scare and threaten the human out of doing such a stupid thing. With those words done he tapped the bracelet Annya gave him. "Since I'm at the blacksmith already, should I grab your charges some weapons? If so let me know what they can use." Kharne said into the device.

It wasn't a device that was commonly used by him or his crews, but it wasn't entirely foreign to him. There were only so many buttons after all!

Once Aiko had left to fetch them a potion, Yuka leaned in the doorway and eyed him Koldar with interest. His face was scarred and as was his neck. He did not resemble a dark elf the way Nabarra did. His face retained a rather prettiness to it that was familiar despite the scars. However, she could not quite place in her mind what was so familiar about him at the moment. She tilted her head and stared at him for longer than necessary, possibly creeping the poor light elf out.

"So what's the real story with you guys? You two aren't really cousins, are you?" She asked. She grinned at him after her questioning, "Don't worry that handsome face too much. Might give you wrinkles!"She stuck out her tongue and giggled at her own words, "I like to lie sometimes just to spice things up when I'm bored so no judgment from this girl here!..." The situation was quite the strange one after all. Not many even in Roshmi enjoyed the presence of a dark elf. But a light elf and a dark elf traveling together and claiming to be cousins? Unheard of!

That was when Aiko's scent reached her nose and the sound of his footsteps reached her ears as he was returning. "Aiko! About time you'd return-" But then... something was different about his footsteps. She gasped upon seeing the girl in the doorway and jumped to her feet. She moved over to her and raised her hands across from her chest and waved them around as if she was tracing the new existence. "Whaa! Wow! You are Aiko, aren't you? How did you do this!?" Yuka thought she had seen it all but she was quite surprised.

The poor thing hadn’t taken everything all too well today. She listened as the girl requested alcohol and gave a firm nod, putting her hands on her hips. ”Right then! We’ll pick Saoirse up a stunning outfit then get some drinks.” As she went to lead the girls, her transmission bracelet went off. ”Already, boys?” She sighed before she pressed the button as a hologram of Kharne appeared. After Slick had his items purchased, he window-shopped, eyeing the other peculiar items on display. He wanted to do a once-over just in case he missed something that might be of use later and was also curious as to what the other two would buy. He specifically watched Kuroi who had eyes on one of the caged critters despite the suggestions he made. Sure, he was pulling Kuroi’s leg, but Slick found his options for the fox fellow much more valuable than a tiny odd-looking... fox. Wait a minute.. He watched Kuroi leave the store with a raised eyebrow. He couldn’t begin to understand the purchase of a fox by a fox, but this was Avalia, a world where the rules swung a tad bit differently.

“That’s some interesting company you keep. I mean- Whoa…” Slick noticed Mika purchasing the outfit he had brazenly pointed out for her to buy. Looks like she was going to make this man’s half-thought lustful dream a reality. A grin of satisfaction formed on his lips.

In truth, Mika had not purchased the outfit to please Slick, but was actually eyeing it herself. To blend in, Mika had to look less like a princess, and more like… like someone a bit less modest. It was not something she would typically wear as it pulled the wrong type of attention towards her, but that is exactly what made it the perfect choice.

“And here I was thinking you planned on being hot in that get-up… well actually, I guess you’re still plannin’ that in a sense.” Slick winked before tipping his stetson to the young princess. The two eventually approached Kuroi plopped down underneath the tree with Mika immediately seating herself beside Kuroi to get close to the small fennec fox. Setting down the bag with her outfit, she reached over to gently pet the new member of their party.

“He’s so cute. Does he have a name yet?” Mika asked as she looked at the precious creature with a warm smile. She found the fox adorable, and was curious about Kuroi displaying a softer side. The man was much more complex than he let on, especially since she had not witnessed him interacting with anyone the same way as the fennec fox.

Meanwhile, Slick positioned himself on the other side of the tree and leaned his back to it.

“While you two coddle the youngster there, I’m gonna get changed.” Slick quickly removed his current attire and changed into his new outfit. There were a few peepers, but he didn’t let that stop him. He placed his old clothing in the saddle bag Mika purchased for him before rolling his shoulders and rounding the tree. “I’m liking the feel of this. Yeaaah, this is nice.” Slick said as he looked down at his outfit and then to the other two seated beneath the tree. Noticing Slick was done, Mika got up from the ground.

“Okay so I think we’re all set. I just need to change as well.” Mika appeared as if she wanted to say more, but bit her lower lip and looked away for a moment. It was brief but noticeable. “Kuroi. Slick. I’m going to go find a hotel for us to stay for the night. The Sandpit should do. You two should find some place to eat in the meantime while I change… and get also some rest.” She handed Kuroi 100 amas that he could spend at his own volition. She would have joined them, but Mika had so much on her mind she hadn’t fully digested. Her brother’s death, the war, her father’s alliance with the dark elves, being responsible for a human in her company, and rebelling against her own kingdom. Mika just needed time to take it all in before she was overwhelmed by it all. She couldn’t meet Princess Rosaria with a troubled mind and she trusted Kuroi to keep Slick out of any trouble for a few hours.

“I don't wish to part ways but a good meal does sound just as good as a drink. Think we can do both, Kuroi?” He was still getting used to the man's foreign name. “And can't wait to see how that there dress looks on you. A sight to behold, I reckon.” He flattered with a sultry smile.

At first, Myra kept staring at Vrexen with a wary expression, seeing if he was fine after drinking the strange liquid. After he didn't show any reaction though, Myra looked at Astra, almost as if asking why she was so shocked if Vrexen seemed to be perfectly fine. With her curiosity focusing on her own tankard again and the golden, fragrant liquid inside. She was about to take another sip with her tongue when Vrexen called her, asking why she only started speaking now.

Confused, Myra looked at Vrexen for a moment, tilting her head as she thought about that question. She had never had any reason to make any sound other than hissing or growling in order to intimidate other creatures and protect her food. For Myra and most other creatures, body language was the only thing they needed to communicate. No matter which animal or creature, they all knew what showing one's teeth or claws meant. That said, even though speaking was still a bit hard for her, she did find it a bit strange on how quickly she became able to understand Vrexen and Astra's words... or at least a few of them...

Fortunately, before Myra had to rack her brain thinking on how she would reply to Vrexen's question while under his scrutinizing gaze, Astra began saying something to Vrexen which seemed to answer to his question and distract him, making him look away from a now, relieved Myra. Just as that happened though, Astra raised her tankard towards Myra, almost as if encouraging her to drink it, before taking it to her lips.

Turning her attention towards the strange liquid, Myra leaned forward, taking another sip with her tongue. While she didn't really like the strange burning sensation, the sweet taste wasn't exactly bad. What she wasn't aware though, was of the side effects of that strange liquid. At first, it was just the weird burning sensation but after a few sips, even though Myra stopped drinking soon after, due to her fast metabolism, she had already started to feel more... unrestrained.

Angry and frustrated, Myra was about to complain once again to Astra about the food when it finally arrived. Immediately forgetting about the Mead, she immediately grabbed the meat with her claws, being careful in order to not get her hands or herself dirty and took a big bite out of it. While she knew that it was meat, it was completely different from the meat she normally ate, fresh meat from creatures and animals she hunters. Succulent and incredibly tasty due to many different spices, it was definitely a new experience for Myra. Due to the taste and how hungry she was though, the meat Astra ordered for her was over in a moment, thanks to Myra's voracious bites.

"Foo! Foo!" Myra said, looking to Astra as she licked her claws clean, asking for more meat, frustrated that it took so little time for her to finish with it.

Unfortunately for Astra, Myra was already tipsy from the Mead and was making absolutely no effort in hiding her dangerous claws or the terrifyingly sharp row of teeth inside her mouth. Not only that, but to make things even worse, she was starting to get annoyed with the dress again and seemed to have forgotten about the "deal" she made with Astra, regarding keeping it on while inside a city...

"Foo! Foo!" Myra had said.

Myra quickly captured Vrexen and Astra’s attention. While Vrexen watched with interest, Astra did so with concern. It had been the first time either of them witnessed Myra in such an aggressive state.

“Uh…” The server had still been present, watching Myra fearfully. Lusha had heard the tales of demi-humans becoming savage beastmen in the wilds, and was afraid she had stumbled upon one in the company of this odd trio.

“Slave… Bring us food,” the woman caught the gaze of Vrexen’s narrowed eyes, his tone more frightening than Myra’s appearance. “Or become it.” He grabbed a handful of the sliced pork belly and bit into it without an ounce of etiquette, only adding more to Lusha's feeling of unease.

“Please. Listen to him.” Astra warned in a serious tone. She wasn't one to save a life that wasn't her own, but she did not want to ruin the chance at having a peaceful night's sleep here at the tavern/inn. “Did I stutter?! Fucking go!” Astra yelled, shocking Lusha out of her fear-frozen state. She initially walked away briskly before jogging through a door leading to the back kitchen. Astra hadn't expected such a turn. Vrexen was always a bit frightening, but Myra? Astra had to assume that the mead was the culprit.

All the while, Vrexen was gobbling up the roasted pork, very pleased with its flavor and even licked his fingers. He could see why Myra desired more of this meat, especially with how little of it was served. Now he desired more as well.

“I hope you two are happy..."

He had watched where the server had come and gone, and now Vrexen knew the source of the succulent meat.

“She's definitely going to spit in your food…”

And now he had no need of the slave!

“Just next time, try to- Wait, what are you doing?”

As soon as Vrexen gulped down the last bite of pork belly, he stood up from the table with a toothy grin.

“Vrexen?”

“Myra!” He pointed toward the door leading to the back kitchen. “Instead of waiting for that useless slave, we will take our food now!

“Wait, Vrexen! Just wait!” Astra also stood up genuinely trying to plead with him. “Remember the power of amas. Remember that you wanted to see how it worked, right?” Vrexen's grin dropped as his excitement died down upon remembering that conversation.

“Amas… Yes.” A low sigh escaped him before he rounded the table towards Myra. “But if these small portions are what amas give us… I am not impressed. Myra, I order you to retrieve more delicious meat for us. Remove that cloth and take! Take what you desire.” He firmly pinched part of the collar of her dress to make it easier for her to simply slip out of it.

“Don't, Myra.”

“Eat!”

Having almost completely forgotten about what Astra had said to her about 'laying low', thanks to the mead, Myra looked at the woman who brought the meat, nodding vehemently towards the girl as Vrexen demanded more food. Oblivious to how scared the girl was she simply kept staring at her, annoyed before Astra shouted at the servant, making her quickly go back to the door where she got the food from.

Myra was about to resume her struggle against the dress as she begrudgingly waited for the meat when Vrexen suddenly stood up and walked around the table towards her as he called her name. As he got closer, he pinched the collar of her dress as he said for her to take it off and go take the meat she wanted. Myra was about to gladly do so when Astra firmly said for her to not do it. Confused, Myra looked at Vrexen and then Astra, not sure of what to do. While she wanted to take the dress off, she knew there was a reason why she didn't do so until now, despite it being very annoying. Even though she couldn't remember the reason all that well, she knew it had something to do with Astra and it was important... Was Astra saying no for the dress or the food? Myra continued thinking, not certain of what to do, until she had an idea... If she did half as Vrexen told her to do and half as Astra did, neither one of them would be mad at her, right?

Proud of her new, brilliant idea, Myra pointed towards the two big pieces of cooked meat on the table just across theirs, where a man and a woman were sitting at with a proud expression, much to the couple's despair.

No matter how much she pointed though, Vrexen's refused to let go of her dress. Annoyed she quickly understood that it would be impossible to free herself without either without taking off the dress or damaging it. Frustrated and tired of trying to make Vrexen understand her, she raised her arms, slipping out of the dress before taking it from Vrexen's hand and then walking towards Astra with a proud, almost smug expression as she handed her the dress, raising her hands just like Astra told her to do when she wore the dress for the first time.

With the dress on again, Myra proudly walked, wobbling a little bit due to the Mead, towards the next table where the couple was. The couple simply kept looking at her, frozen both in fear and shock, unable to act. Seeing how they weren't eating the meat, Myra gave them a smile before taking the two pieces of meat with her claws as she walked back to her own table, being careful to not get her dress dirty.

"Foo." she said proudly, as she put one piece of meat on her dish and the other one on Vrexen's, trying to mimic how the waitress earlier served them.

Interactions: Rosaria @Potter , Jomari @baraquiel, Caelan @Alivefalling, Sophie @princess, Aurora [@chrysocoma]

Jomari unsurprisingly didn't seem to be interested in either listening to the others or speaking about himself. While Nuallán himself had no problems with him being quiet, his attitude made it clear that Jomari would make no effort to get along with him, Princess Rosaria or even the rest of the humans. Unfazed by the hisses Jomari gave each time their arms touched due to the shake of the carriage and despite the ongoing conversation, Nuallán kept a watchful eye on Jomari, always aware of his movements and actions.

Unlike Jomari though, Sophie seemed to be interested about their words and didn't seem opposed to the idea of speaking a bit about herself.
Nuallán accepted the strange, stick-like snack Sophie handed to him and Rosaria with a kind smile and a small bow as she tried to explain what it was. One bite was all it took for Nuallán to understand why the pixie, who had introduced herself as Alette, liked it so much.

"Oh...? No wonder why our little friend liked it so much." Nuallán said after taking a bite, chuckling as he looked to the now sleeping Alette.

"It is surprisingly good." he said to Rosaria, smiling with a nod, as if encouraging her to try, before silently thanking Sophie once again.

Watching Rosaria and Sophie talking with each other, Nuallán couldn't help but let out a discreet smile as he watched Rosaria's expression. He was glad that Rosaria had found a kindred spirit among the humans. Just as they finished talking, Caelan, who was sleeping until now, opened his eyes, lighting up the same zemak-like herbs he had back in the palace, letting its pungent smell flood the carriage. While the smell certainly bothered Nuallán, it wasn't bad enough to be unbearable and since Rosaria seemed to allow him to continue smoking it, Nuallán had no reason to complain.

The hot and dry winds invaded the carriage as Rosaria opened the curtains, a clear indication that they were about to enter the desert. Trees began getting scarcer and scarcer, the vegetation around them slowly changing as only the most resistant plants were able to handle the extreme climate. While the climate was extremely different from what Nuallán was used to, he had received training on how to survive in such environment, although that didn't make it any more comfortable for a light-elf like him.

"The hot winds that herald the desert. We are about to enter the sea of sand." Nuallán said as he looked outside, before Rosaria closed the curtains.

"It will not be long until we arrive Myriamor, the jewel of the desert." he said as he looked to Rosaria and then the rest of the group.

Hopefully, after such unfortunate events in the jungle, they would be able to rest and calm down at Myriamor. A moment of respite would be welcome not only for the human's morale, but for their bodies as well.

Both Vrexen and Astra were a bit stumped as Myra retrieved more food without causing a commotion with a confident swagger that may have been the result of the mead settling.

“She took what she wanted without messing everything up Vrexen. She’s adopted your principles and my cunning…” Astra grabbed one of her prawns with a grin. “Excellent thinking, Myra… And the server will return with even more meat for you too.”

“Hey! You can’t do that!” A male feline demi-human shouted from the table where Myra stole the roasted pork belly from. He appeared to be on a date with another male feline and both were furrowing their brows at Myra, Vrexen, and Astra. Vrexen grabbed a handful of the pork.

“We can’t?” Vrexen stuffed the handful of pork into his jaws while maintaining eye contact with the felines. Astra sighed before clearing her throat.

“Listen up, kitties! Lord Vrexen, the Beast of the Night, will do as he pleases! He has killed far greater than you two on the best of his days. Count yourselves lucky that he hasn’t asked his right hand mistress to snatch you up to eat instead. Do you not see the jaws of this woman? If you wish to do something about it, I-” Vrexen cut Astra’s theatrics short.

“We will kill you. I will not hear or spare any more words for you creatures. We feast on what we desire. Do not draw unwanted attention to yourselves, meat.” All three of his eyes were widened towards the feline couple that stared back in fear. Whether they thought Vrexen was insane or plain terrifying, he could both agree that it was wise to heed his words. They averted their eyes, allowing Vrexen to address Astra. “I do not need you to defend me, Astra.”

“I was not defending you. I was defending them from your wrath or whatever.”

“My what?” Vrexen’s eyes narrowed as he bared his teeth in anger. A single word had such an effect on him.“Don’t you ever utter such a word again… Wrath… I hate Wrath.” Astra’s eyes widened as Vrexen appeared as if he was ready to kill her on the spot.

“I apologize. Please, Vrexen, I will never utter that word again. Please just-”

Violence. Mother prefers violence.”

“Violence... Vrexen’s violence.”

“Yesss. You spared them from my violence. Now, eat.”

Time: 7 pm
Location: River Port-Tipsy Tavern
Mentions: Arn @Omni5876, Rue@Potter
Equipment: 1 hunting knife, a flask of alcohol, a backpack, small tent, blanket, waterskin, rope, fire starting kit, lightmaker, cooking pot, a bar of soap, some drugs; skaula (8 grams) and zemak (1 ounce), rolling papers, and 31 amas. (2 amas subtracted for cheap wine)

Bowyn was alone again, and something about that felt right. Not because he liked being alone but it was familiar and that made it comfortable. He was used to it, he knew what to expect and how to get by. He wasn’t used to strange companions with secrets he could barely wrap his head around and whose motives couldn’t be trusted. And he wasn’t used to his head being full of worry for an old friend who trusted too easily.

Bowyn walked around the seaside port until his feet brought him to where they always, inevitably, brought him; a tavern. This one was called The Tipsy Tavern, and the air inside was stale and heavy with the scent of alcohol. Surrounded by unfamiliar faces that paid him little attention, in a tavern that had seen better days, Bowyn felt more at ease. He ordered cheap wine and waited for it, and for the familiar numbness, it could eventually bring. The alcohol made everything more bearable, softened the world's sharp and jagged edges until everything was blurred and fuzzy.

Cheap wine clawed its way down his throat, unsettling his empty stomach. It wasn’t a good drink and it wasn’t strong enough to wash away his thoughts. But Bowyn drank it anyway and gestured for another one. It only sharpened his focus on everything he didn’t want to think about.

He didn't like the feeling of guilt that tore at his gut as his mind fixated on all the times he’d noticed Arn look at Rue with a twinkle in his eye. At the time he thought it was because Arn had a crush. That had made sense; dwarves had keen eyes, known to appreciate things rare and beautiful just like the stones and metals they dug from the earth. What if it wasn’t that? What if the twinkle in the dwarf’s eye was greed? It made more sense the more he thought about it; a talented winter fairy was worth a whole lot more than a couple of meals and a ticket on a Helius. No wonder that Arn had so quickly offered to pay for anything, he was probably thinking of all the profit he would get on the black market. Greed motivating false kindness made so much more sense to Bowyn than anything genuine.

And that was where the guilt came from, because what if he was right. He’d left Rue all alone with Arn. There were a lot of things Bowyn could live with, but letting something happen to Rue wasn’t one of them. And Rue had already made up her mind about sticking with Arn, Bowyn knew there was no changing that. So he had to stay with them, to keep a close eye on Arn and watch out for Rue. Bowyn let out a sigh and pried himself away from the bar and back out into the streets of River Port and towards the inn, he had recently left. He doubted it would be difficult to find them again; a fairy, dwarf, and wolf trio weren't exactly a normal sight anywhere in Avalia and they'd stick out enough.

Time: 7 pm, Soller
Location: Outside The Nest

Equipment: Sword, bow and arrows, small knife, wayfinder, fire kit, a pouch with 117 amas

Orias stared back at Yuka, an uncomfortable silence growing between them as the demihuman studied him. For a brief second, he wondered if she’d recognized him, but demihuman’s didn’t have the memories elves had. He was also not his sisters; no list of grand accomplishments to ensure a lasting legacy, Orias was more easily forgotten. When she finally spoke he gave a small smile and nodded. Yuka was making sure he wasn’t a dark elf too. With great effort, he conjured a small orb of light into his palm that flickered until the dull light quickly died out again. A disappointing show of magic but enough to prove him a light elf at least.

“Not a dark elf. And I wouldn’t exactly call it a lie, more like a stretch of the truth. Our races are related and I trust Nabarra enough to call her an alley. I’d go into battle with her and that’s about as close to kin as I have these days.” He kept his reply short, not exactly wanting to add that he’d really only known the other elf for a couple of hours longer than he had Yuka and Aiko.

Aiko, who had left to go downstairs to search for anything of use to help Nabarra returned empty-handed and looked a lot different from when they left. The fox demihuman that reentered the room was dressed the same and looked similar enough to the male fox that had left that he might’ve guessed Aiko had a twin sister. But the truth was stranger because Yuka was right and that definitely was Aiko.

“You’re not really an ordinary fox demi are you?” He said, studying the strange magical being in front of them. But Aiko hadn’t found anything or anyone downstairs that could help and Nabarra was still out cold. If she wasn’t awake, he wasn’t sure the healing potion was going to help. Pouring it down an unconscious elf’s throat and hoping she didn’t choke really didn’t seem like the best plan.

“And I’d love to hear all about what you are but right now I don’t think shapeshifting is going to wake Nabarra up.” He added as he snapped his fingers loudly in front of Nabarra’s face, each snap accompanied by a small but bright flash of light at the ends of his fingers, hoping maybe the other elf would return to consciousness.

Saoirse turned her attention from the seagulls to the fairy who’d flown out the window. Curiously she watched as Annya’s explanation summarized their existence. How fascinating, thought Shae who had only briefly read fantasy books. With her chaotic childhood, she hadn’t been able to keep up with her peers. She turned her attention to Raven and raised her eyebrows at the word ‘alcohol’. Finally something they could agree on, she smirked to herself and ignored the pang in her chest.

However her reasoning for it was not what she had hoped. Shae didn’t know what to say, as the nerd had likely never faced true danger. She didn’t know what to say or do, so she nodded in agreement. After Annya detailed the plan, Shae nodded. ”Good plan,” she replied and then avoided eye contact with Raven. Kharne called Annya using the transmission bracelet, or knockoff telephone as Shae called it. Saoirse couldn’t wait to head to the Blacksmith but first, a new outfit and alcohol, the latter being her favorite.

Annya led the two girls down the boardwalk and paused at a wooden stall with a rack of clothing, boots and accessories.. "These are a treat to the eye! Look at these outfits, ladies!" She exclaimed and gestured to them.

"Welcome to the Vivacious Vixens. Amazing clothing right here, ladies. Comfortable and hugs all the right places." An elven man in a large hat that hid his expression and baggy clothing was working the stall. His breath smelled of liquor and there were a few bottles by the side of his feet. He leaned on the bar of his stall and grinned at the three women like a starved man finally being served some food, his blue eyes twinkling with delight and his mind full of bad ideas, "Mmm looks like I got a three-course meal for supper tonight... Oh yes. If you girls like these clothes here, I'll give you a full outfit for 70 amas each but any number of you are welcome to work for a discount and believe me, it won't feel like any work. Especially you with the purty red hair... They don't call me Handy-"

Annya held up her hand towards him, "Do me a favor. Whatever words are about to come out of that mouth, just shove them right back down your throat before I do it for you!" She gave him a look that could kill. Ugh! Men. Always without fail they say such foul words. This is supposed to be my treat for these girls and I want to stay happy for them but he's just pissing me off! She scowled at him as anger filled her. "I will pay full price for whatever they want. I hope for your mother's sake you learn to speak to dignified women with some respect!" Her raised voice made a few folks on the boardwalk walking by flinch.

"I-uhh.. Yeah whatever. Worth a shot." The man relented and folded his arms as he sat back in his chair. River Port people were pretty laid back and he was not used to girls reacting the way Annya had, so he had decided it was best not to push it.

Annya rolled her eyes and turned to Saoirse, "I'm so sorry. Pick whichever outfit you like and we can go to the bar and try to drink away memory of this bizarre man. If you want to go elsewhere then let me know."

Sophie eyes lit up when Rosaria mentioned she liked art. She smiled and squeezed her hand back, softly replying,"I bet you draw nicely." It was cool that even fantasy creatures like elves enjoyed mundane hobbies they did. In fact, they acted just like normal people. It fascinated Sophie that they really were not all that different.

She sniffed the air and glanced at Caelan. He was smoking what was unmistakably weed. As a college-goer, it was impossible not to recognize it off the bat. Rosaria called it zemak interestingly enough. Was it the same thing? "On earth, many of us call that weed but formally it is called cannabis." She told her. It had never been something she had ventured into before so her knowledge was probably limited compared to Caelan's.

Nuallan piped up and mentioned that they were entering the sea of sand. She leaned over to look through the curtains and stared. She had never seen a desert on earth other than in pictures, but she knew something was much more majestic about this one. They were apparently going to arrive somewhere called Myriamor. Sophie, of course, pictured the town from Aladdin in her head as she wasn't sure what to expect. Wherever they were, as long as they had a big comfy blanket for her to cuddle up in with her drawing pad, she'd be happy.
