Brief Clothes Description:Eric loves anything in the color pink, and will go out of his way to find or make clothes that color, but often wears it with blue, tan or off-white clothing. He really likes sweaters and will wear them as often as he can, usually over a button-up shirt. His pants are usually rolled up almost to the knee. When working in the kitchen, he almost always wears an apron, and the rest of the time at least has a cloth shoved in his front pocket to wipe his hands on or to clean things up with. He usually wears a pair of beat up, short boots that are more or less falling apart, but he refuses to give up on. Although, sometimes he just doesn’t bother to wear shoes at all. Eric also likes to wear his hair in a low ponytail with a bandana around his head, with some clips in the front of his hair wherever he can fit them in.

Personality:Best known for his energy and kind presence, Eric makes himself responsible for the wellbeing of his crewmates. He assures that all the small chores are taken care of so everyone can carry out their work in the best possible conditions. He’s a quick learner when it comes to people, and doesn’t often forget things about those he’s familiar with, and makes a point to learn people's preferences and does what he can to best accommodate them. He always greets people when he sees them, even if its only a small acknowledgment as he passes by. He believes that being honest and kind is the best way to do things, and is generally a very open and honest person, even about his flaws, although it may become apparent to some that he underestimates himself about many things. However, he meets every task he’s given with a sense of strong optimism. Even if he thinks he might not be able to do it, he’s sure going to try his best!
⋆Eric is definitely extroverted, he enjoys being around people and has a hard time being alone for long periods. He’s usually unafraid to speak to others and will attempt to make friends with anyone he meets, as long as they seem open to it. Regardless, he is kind to everyone, even if they don’t show much interest in interacting with him. Sometimes the nicest thing you can do for someone is just leave them be! He does try to make sure those around him are cared for, even though he does care for himself, he does his best to balance his needs with others. When it comes down to it though, he’d always try to protect others before himself, even if it's almost idiotic to do so.
⋆His first instinct is always to react. He doesn’t necessarily always panic but he’s certainly wired to react to things quickly. However, he also knows his reaction isn’t always the most helpful solution, and often pauses for direction. If he can’t get any, he operates mostly on instinct, whatever he sees needs to get accomplished most urgently. Although he does his best to remain calm, he can get anxious in very high-stakes situations. In less urgent scenarios, however, he can maintain a level of calm (but not without a lot of worrying) while patiently waiting for direction if he doesn’t already know what to do.
⋆Eric may not be the smartest. He received a pretty decent education, but coming up with ideas on his own can be challenging. Even when he does think of things, he usually stays quiet about it, afraid of sounding stupid or being generally unhelpful. He is very friendly, being generally well-liked by those around him. He’s kind and honest, not seeking to manipulate or intimidate others. He just wants to be friends with everyone, and does everything he can to avoid making enemies- not that he has to try hard. He usually uses humor to keep the mood light in times of frustration or after a bad event, although this may not be successful. He is pretty good at bouncing back from things, but that doesn’t mean everyone else is. His mental state is usually good, but he’s quite prone to distress when things get rough. But this is usually a very temporary state of being. He’s usually very energetic, and it's rare to see him dragging unless his health is especially poor. But even then he tries to push through with his usual enthusiastic demeanor.

History:Eric’s conception is a bit complicated. His fathers had been together for many years, living in a small town right on the coast of Glasston. Kludd, being a merfolk, had to make frequent trips back to the water to survive, but they made it work. After Kludd’s brother Hero and his wife, who was best known as Shadowbolt had their first child, Narma, Kludd began to long for children as well. His husband shared the sentiment and soon they had adopted their first child, Ramona. A few short years later, they decided on another child, but things were a bit different this time. It was decided that they wanted a child of their (specifically Kludd’s) blood. Arrangements for a surrogate were made, a lady named Margeaux. They became close with her over the course of the pregnancy, and she became something similar to an aunt for young Ramona. Soon enough, Eric was born. Margeaux to this day remains a very close family friend, although she sees herself as more of an aunt or distant family member to the children.
Eric’s childhood was fairly uneventful. His family was extremely loving, and he spent a great deal of his time with them. He got along very well with not only Ramona, but his cousins Narma and Leo, and the four of them spent a good deal of their time together. Although he didn’t receive a formal education, Kludd did teach both him and his sister everything he could. From a young age, they were taught to read and write (although Eric picked it up much faster), and in multiple languages. Eric was very invested in learning anything and everything, Literature, Geography, History, Politics and the governments of the various nations, Navigation, Astronomy, and especially about the oceans and anything about sailing. His sister, on the other hand, was more interested in learning how to fight, and surprisingly excelled in mathematics, so much that her dads struggled to keep up with her pace of learning. Among his other studies, Eric took the time to learn how to play several instruments and how to sing well, and seemed to have a natural musical talent. Its possible this comes from his merfolk heritage, as they are known for their songs, but no one is quite certain. Another thing he took it upon himself to learn was the practical skills of the home. He learned how to knit and sew, cook a wide variety of things, and even learned to enjoy cleaning. Ramona, on the other hand, saw these tasks as boring and often refused to invest any more time in them than it took to grasp the basics. Neither of her fathers could blame her for this, and she was able to do as she liked just as Eric was. He and Ramona did both very much enjoy being active and participated in any sport or game they could find. Ramona was always better than Eric, but he never minded. They were both very good sports about it, and never truly competed with one another, despite Ramona’s highly competitive nature. In fact, they always worked better together than they ever could apart.
His half-breed status didn’t come without problems, however. Starting when he was young, he was of fragile health. For the first few years, his family feared he somehow got a bad combination of Merfolk and Human genes and wouldn’t make it to adulthood. But as he grew up and became more stable, his heritage didn’t stop plaguing him. Whenever Kludd would return to the sea, Eric desperately wanted to follow. There was no more interesting place than the sea to him. However, he could never travel as far as he wanted or do as much as he wanted. Despite being able to breathe underwater and being built to be an exceptional swimmer, he didn’t have the stamina in that environment to do a lot of the exploration he desired. He was very interested in adventure, but didn’t know where to find it. Exploring the woods or along the beach with his sister and cousins was enough when he was little, but as he grew into his teens' things started to get a little dull again. Not that he ever minded, he still had fun! But it just didn’t satisfy his cravings for a true adventure- something one would read about in a novel. Without all the odd romance of course. Which was another source of frustration for him. He was surrounded by love, his parents of course, and as his sister and cousins began to date other people, and just all around him were couples. Yet he never felt pulled towards that. It was hard to cope with at first, he thought maybe it’d just take some time to meet a nice person. But it never happened. It wasn’t until right before he left that he figured out he may never be attracted to anyone, and he was honestly okay with that. It provided a sense of closure for him in a way. After about 5 years of wrestling with the fact that his developing sexuality was not developing, it was a relief to realize he actually didn’t have to worry about it, and could get back to worrying about life's real issues. Like the rad adventure he was about to go on.
Speaking of which, whats an adventurous young lad to do? All the job prospects around town didn’t sound all that fun or exciting. Sure, he could be happy wherever he ended up, but he didn’t want to be doing just anything. In a strange act of fate, news of The Arcadian’s disappearance started to spread just as he was looking for serious work. He would have done absolutely anything to get a chance to go on that adventure. Luckily, it wasn’t hard. He found a position as a cook aboard The Avalon Avenger and was so happy to be going out at sea. Perhaps it wasn’t the underwater ocean exploration he’d dreamed of, but being out on the open sea was a close second. He said goodbye to his family and promised to send them letters whenever he was able, and soon enough he was aboard the ship and determined to not only make himself useful, but also to have the adventure of a lifetime!

Combat and Magic:Physical Strengths:⋆Quick and agile, light on his feet.
⋆He knows his limits well. He knows when he’s had enough or when to stop doing something before he overexerts himself.
⋆Can swim much better than an average person.
Physical Weaknesses:⋆He has a slightly fragile constitution, he tends to get sick easily. Particularly prone to respiratory ailments.
⋆Needs more water than the average person, whether that be from drinking it or absorbing it through the skin. Gotta stay hydrated to function properly due to his merfolk heritage.
⋆Not especially strong, and doesn’t have any real combat skills. If it ever came down to it, he’d probably lose in a fight.
Magic or ability:Because he is half merfolk, he can breathe both on land and underwater. He also has webbed fingers/toes and patches of scales in places (mostly around his legs and lower torso). The scales don’t do much for him, but the webbing allows him to swim much better than the average person. He also has little fins on his lower arms and calves, that again, don't serve much purpose other than to show his heritage.
