My blade carries with it the harsh frost of the wintry winds. Dancing with the rage of a blizzard, its speed matches the transience of an icy petal.

Welcome traveler. I see you've stumbled upon my profile, nice to meet ya.

About Me
I'm just your average 9-5 schmuck. I do my work, pay my bills, and contribute what I can to society. I also happen to enjoy binge-watching/reading anime, manga/light novels, tv dramas, and pretty much anything that catches my interest. I'm also an avid gamer, my favorite genres tend to change with time. Right now it's probably JRPG, hack-slash, and fighting.

Roleplaying
I originally joined this site several years back, having gotten my feet wet only recently at that point as an RPer. I was recommended this site by a pal of mine (@PaulHaynek) and joined a couple of his RPs. However, due to RL stresses I had to take a break from the world of RPing and took sometime for self-reflection. After a 2 year absence, I'm back in saddle and ready to further stretch my creative muscles. As for what roleplays I like, I enjoy anything action-oriented. I'm fine with any settings for the most part, though I'm more inclined toward the magical and sci-fi. Also, I've gained a sort of preference for RPs that allow users to play as multiple characters, but solo is fine either way. Here's a list to give a better idea of my tastes.

- Fantasy/medieval
- Dystopian
- Steampunk
- Sci-fi
- Apocalypse/Post-Apocalyptic
- Generally anything anime/manga related
- Adventure and Combat oriented
- Romance here and there is fine too

That's all for now, reader. If you decide to post an interest check for an RP idea, you just might find me posting a character profile ready to be reviewed. Don't be afraid to give me a shout if you'd like a Co-DM to bounce ideas off of as well.

Until then.

Shizuka's mist technique was well at work, and it seemed to be doing its job at first. The bandits helpless slashed at each other, panicking at the sudden onslaught of unknown warriors. He wasn't surprised that these sloppy bandits hadn't trained their mind's eye to realize they were only attacking phantasms. However, it was short-lived, as a large fellow armored like a Tengu blew the mist away with a well-placed cannon shot. Shizuka immediately took notice of the man's strength to even wield such a weapon.

Well, so much for the stealthy approach...

With their cover blown, Shizuka was about to quickly devise a counterstrategy, that was before Eula took matters into her own hands. She even tried to shield Shizuka from the blast at first with her uninjured hand. That wasn't good; He felt there was no need to cripple herself in that way, in addition she should've known that he could have easily dodged that attack. But now wasn't the time to reprimand her actions, it was time to act. She clearly understood this too, as she picked up the cannon with one hand using her supernatural strength and threw it back at the masked man. He watched, quite impressed, as he was sent flying back into the hut from where he came out of. The other brigands began to panic, obviously not accustomed to fighting manono. Shizuka was confident that Eula could handle the attackers flailing wildly at her, amateurishly telegraphing their attacks in a panicked frenzy.

Plus they didn't seem to be using glass weapons, so that also put his mind at ease.

"Eula-san, dealing with these men should be simple. Not a single competent fighter lies among them!" He exclaimed. One might think that it was foolish to for him to divert his attention while there were two bandits hidden away in the rubble caused by Eula's throw. Especially with those glowing arrow tips on the bolts. One would normally be correct - but not in this case.

On the contrary, Shizuka purposefully acted like he didn't notice them so they wouldn't be put on alert. The Kannazuki they saw shouting at Eula was nothing more than a mist clone he had conjured while they were all distracted by Eula's rampage. The real Shizuka was already behind the two archers whilst they were preparing their strikes, still none the wiser. His plan was to shoot their hands with ice bolts from his palm, injuring them and also freezing the guns so they couldn't fire. He wanted to keep some alive for questioning later.

If whatever magic that was imbued in the arrows still allowed them to be fired at Eula, he would make sure that the clone took the hit for her. After all, it was only right that he return the favor.

Of course, he couldn't be sure if the tengu masked leader was down for good. He had an electrical counter waiting with his other hand if the bandit tried for a surprise attack.

Atsuha got even more annoyed at Skarsneek's rebuttals, finding them little more than convenient excuses. Their exchange was cut off, however, as everyone seemed to co-sign Hinami's suggestion for food. Atsuha had to admit, even she was a bit famished from today's events. Her stomach made a audile growl, her finger still on Skarsneek's nose. "I'm too tired and hungry to argue with you, and dinner sounds like a much better alternative." She said, sighing with an irritated groan. She didn't want to admit it, but the thought of having Skarsneek cutely put food in her mouth sounded tantalizing.

At that moment, another thought had popped into the spider's mind.

Up until this point, no one except Hinami knew that she and Skarsneek had done the deed on the voyage here. But the idiot at this point had made too many utterances that more than likely gave them away. Atsuha shot him the stink eye, annoyed with his big mouth. She actually found it weird that none of her other manono companions had picked up on that fact. Perhaps the other newer members weren't aware that Skarsneek was indeed a boy, and didn't think to take note of the scent? Some other members may know the secret, but if they did they hadn't revealed it yet. Thankfully, it seemed that everyone else was too busy dealing with Takeshi's little dilemma. One which even she, thought was quite humorous.

"Takeshi-san, you naughty boy~ Seems you've finally succumbed to the charms of the 'dreaded' yokai. I'm glad to see that you've learned that were not so bad after all. Although, I didn't take you for being into the cute Lolita type." She said, walking up to the young lord, teasing him as she always liked to. Her main goal was to keep all the attention on Takeshi so she herself could avoid the fire.

Hinami turned to Liliana and Io, rubbing her head with an embarrassed smile. Whelp, that's my sister for you! Hi there you to, my name is Hinami, it's really nice to meet you! She said, making a polite bow at the lich and fairy. "It's especially nice to meet another undead! You seem to be one of those smart types, since you're a sorceress and all. I'm afraid that brains aren't really my strong suit, haha..."

She then turned to Yuki, who also was teasing Takeshi of his little 'outing' with Alice. "Hi there, you were with Skars-kun on his mission today, were you. My name's Hinami, thanks for looking after him for us. We know he can be quite a handful!"

After uttering that statement, Atsuha shot a wide eyed glance at her little sister. "Hinami!!!" She exclaimed.

"WaaH! S-sorry Nee-san!!" She replied, covering her mouth with both hands in a panicked fashion.
What was once a grassy and quaint countryside looked now to be nothing more than a rotted hellscape. The grass and any other form of vegetation in the area had utterly withered, leaving nothing but putrid masses of blackened ash. The air was filled with a hazy, purplish hue that carried a foul odor with it. The ground was littered with craters and cindered scars, likely caused by spell fallout. Sprawled around were what was left of the corpses of the casters of said magic, torn to shreds or had various puncture wounds lining their bodies. Some of the magus still seemed to be alive, however, though a number of them were gravely injured. Before them stood a monstrosity that clearly didn’t belong in this world.

It was a hideous quadruped creature that was covered with red scales and plated with bits of carapace that had a dull black color. To note, it was still able to stand on two legs and its long claws were covered in blood, in addition to its countless spiked tendrils. Being roughly the size of an elephant, the creature’s numerous crimson eyes glistened in the moonlight as it stared down the surviving magus like a predator staring down its evening meal.

Parts of their faces were covered by their hoods, but judging by the visible frowns and gaping mouths, it was safe to say fear was the main emotion going through the mages’ minds currently.

“Regroup! Keep it at bay with long range spells and allow our front units some relief!” Shouted the apparent leader of the squadron.

“It’s no use! The bloody thing ignored everything we’ve thrown at it, and it’s made work out of our thaumaturgists! Our ranks have been too thinned o-Gaagh!” The poor man’s unfinished statement was his last spoken words. The creature had run the man straight through with one of its appendages, then promptly whisked him off his horse. Having been pulled to the entity’s gaping jaw, disgusting snapping sounds could be heard as it began to chew its morsel. With their ranks desecrated, the leader soon found they were out of options.

“We can’t stay here any longer! Either that thing kills us all or we end up becoming more of its friends!” Yelled another. Indeed the purple fog at this point had only grown thicker, and the air became more wretched as a result.

“Retreat! Have our long range units provide cover fire, we’re getting out of here!” A couple of magus shot fireballs at the creature while some conjured alchemic circles and used them to transmute ionized energy to create sparks to blind the life form while they galloped away on their horses. Of course this only served to anger the creature, as it let out a horrid bellow while they made their escape. Some more of the squad got picked off, the leader was forced to listen to their futile cries for help. Some even begged for their lives, as though the damn thing could understand human speech. Their cries were soon replaced with wet crunching sounds and the tearing of flesh.

Thankfully, it seemed their plan worked, as the roars of the thing began to fade with distance. One of the other riders rode closer to the leader and began to address them.

“W-We didn’t get a chance to burn any of the bodies. Will, will they be-”

“You should already know the damn answer to that!” They snapped. “But what choice did we have!? We weren’t prepared for this, and the damn Association couldn’t bother to spare us more resources. To hell with it being ‘short notice!'” Bullets of sweat ran down their face as the reality of the situation set in.

“What are we to do then?” The underling replied.

“We go back and tell the higher ups what happened. We’ll be reprimanded, and they’ll likely send another b-list team to their dooms. There aren’t that many reavers in this region as it is, which is why we were sent here in the first place.”

The underling raised his head at his leader’s statement, his wide eyes expressing that he may not have fully believed what he’d just heard.

“When the reavers are mismanaged, it’s us the scholars who have to pay for it. But, perhaps it doesn’t have to be a repeat of tonight’s events. I hear that a new team of reavers is being made in the Republic. Perhaps when we return, they’ll allow me to make a small recommendation.”

“Do you mean Irvin’s team?”

“Yes. After all, since they’ve only been recently established, I’m sure they’re just itching to prove themselves. Besides, it’s only fair that someone else cleans up this bloody mess…”

The underling held his head down; Underneath his hood, his face was controting with both melancholy and guilt. “It’s not fair to them, though…”

Prologue: Converging Paths

The rising sun marks the start of their journey, their futures stagnant in the face of events predetermined.

Morgenröte - mid morning

It was a serene morning in the Republic city, a gentle breeze rang through the air like a pleasant chime. The streets of the Republic were somewhat wet and the air was a little humid as it had been raining the night prior. The streets were lined with academic and industrial buildings dedicated to the research of various supernatural fields of subject. There were also various shops lined with arcane and antiquated wares for any onlookers to latch interest onto. The brilliant light of the sun shone off of magical constructs that served various purposes, and numerous familiars and golems were hard at work, aiding their masters in preparing for today’s events. This place was indeed the city that housed the world’s magus authority.

Eleven souls had entered Morgenröte, all either holding their letter of invitation in their hand or had it tucked away somewhere or another. The newcomers entering the city all had the same destination, the large tower that was situated in the northern part of the city. The invitations they received all came from the administrator of said establishment. These souls had done something that drew attention to themselves, whether it had been academic accolades, a sterling reputation on the field, or even sheer determination. But, it seemed they weren’t the only ones heading in that direction either.

Looking overhead, in the city skies, two girls could be seen flying on a broom heading toward the same locations as the other invitees. Their clothes alone gave away the fact that they too were magus. Both looked to be young girls in their late teens, nineteen perhaps? One was a silver haired lass that wore a frilly blouse and had a dark purple skirt, she wore a long dark cloak and a traditional witch hat to complete her wardrobe. The other lass had long blue hair and donned a white leotard that looked more like a swimsuit mixed with a captain's outfit than magus garb. The visible reptilian tail instantly marked her belua heritage, and she also had what appeared to be a small squid sitting on her shoulder. The way they flew was graceful, yet rather rushed, the others would likely see them zipping along the skyline. It seemed they were speaking to each other.

“Evelyn.” Said the blue haired girl. “We wouldn’t be rushing like this if you hadn’t taken so long to get ready this morning…” She whined.

“Nonsense Lapis.” She replied. “Genius like this needs all the time it can get to prepare. Besides, they should be grateful that I’m choosing to grace them with my presence at all!” The silver haired girl, apparently named Evelyn, certainly wasn’t lacking in confidence.

“I should’ve just left you to go to orientation alone… Brother will yell at me for being late on the first day.”

As the two flew, they saw some of the other selectees walking the streets or whatever means of transportation they preferred.

"I think some of those people are headed toward the tower as well. Pretty sure some of them are from out of town, I don’t recognize their faces.” Said Lapis.

“Well, if they are, I suppose they’re at least somewhat worthy of note. We’ll find out once we arrive.” Replied Evelyn, in a rather dismissive tone.

--

Eventually, the two witches had arrived in front of a large archaic looking tower. One could tell just by looking at it that the sorcery that was used to build it must’ve been the work of a master. Evelyn lowered her broom so that she and Lapis could safely descend. Facing the structure, they took a moment to absorb the scene. The tower was nestled in the center of a marble walkway fashioned in an elaborate, circular design with multiple branches. The way in stood alone, away from the other buildings in the city gave it a bit of a lonely feel, but powerful at the same time.

“So this is the place that my brother works? I guess he was too busy with work to at least meet me out here…” Lapis said with a somber tone.

“Hmph, were they really too busy to have someone out to meet with their most promising member? How unprofessional!” Evelyn somewhat shared in Lapis’s exasperation, albeit for a different reason…

The girls turned to see that the other nine had made their way to the tower as well. They both had looks of curiosity and a bit of surprise as well. The appearances many of them held immediately designated them as outsiders to the young witches.

“Wow, I hardly expected to see people from the Fae community to arrive here as well. Oh, uh, Good Morning! My name is Lapis Valeniquen and this is my familiar Hachigan, it’s nice to meet all of you. I trust you all are here to join the tower as well?” The octopus thing resting on her shoulder chirped cheerfully, waving to the crowd with one of it's tentacles.

“I believe that’s safe to presume.” Evelyn chimed in. “The silver-haired beauty that stands before you is known as Evelyn Grace, who’s star magic will soon be known and admired throughout the world!”

Lapis shot her friend a look, only being able to shake her head in disapproval.

Evelyn turned to look at one of the new magus with more detail. The woman who, like her had silver-colored hair. Hers was tied in a long ponytail and she wore an elegant dress.

Excuse me, but have I seen you somewhere before? You look rather familiar, though I'm not sure why..."
Should we put our sheets on the Characters tab then?

I see you went ahead and did anyway, but yes please do XD

"Hmm! I'm glad to see you all took up my invitation. Some of the other staff here thought there was very little rhyme or reason in my selection process, but I like to think I have a keen eye for seeking out talent. I can also see that you all come from a myriad of backgrounds; a couple from the Great Forest and we even have some here from the Theocracy! I'm sure you all have your reasons for choosing to come here, but you all are now united as part of Eon.

Take some time to acclimate yourselves at the Tower and meet some of the other staff if you'd like. Oh, and one more thing: Try not to die out there, yes?"

Needless to say, everyone's sheet gets a pass. Know that we'll be starting sometime this weekend or early next week if time allows it.

Cogsfell Aftermath

Unsurprisingly, The High Demon effortlessly dodged most of Lucrecia's gunfire. It bolstered its agility by using its countless tendrils, bouncing off the walls of surrounding buildings. Lucrecia clicked her tongue at the child-like entity's taunts, being well aware they were getting nowhere with their current assault. The demon make work of some more of Katherine's dolls, but the latter summoned replacements and sent them after it for a counterattack. Seeing that the High Demon was now making its way over to Polina, perhaps they could take advantage of it's diverted attention.

Depending on how the demon responded to Katherine's counterattack, Lucrecia would attempt to hurl some throwing daggers at their attacker to supplement the advance from the dolls. If it tried to dodge the dolls, hopefully the knives would be able to hit a vital area while it was still distracted. She also still had plenty of bullets left to fall back on as well, if that didn't work.

Lucrecia also shot a glance at Polina for a moment, noticing that she shot a couple of flares into the air. It seemed the dropship saw them, and saw it firing something near their vicinity - something big. Lucrecia was able to get a better look as it drew closer to them.

Her eyes widened considerably when she was finally able to make it out; The dropship had sent out a Krysan tank!
Alright peeps, we'll likely be starting early next week. In addition, I'll more then likely be accepting a larger number of players than intended given the amount of interest this has generated.

Also, we have a Discord now! Feel free to join.

Homestead

It was easy enough to follow the trail left by the bandits, eventually being led to their makeshift stronghold. The bandits were simply that, untrained brigands and weren't even alerted to the presence of the duo when they had arrived. He and Eula made sure to stick to the shadows and tall grass to make sure it stayed that way for the time being. While make a trip along the camp's perimeter, they overheard a conversation between a couple of the bandits. Upon hearing it, Shizuka couldn't believe it at first, it sounded a bit too outlandish. But it seemed that they were indeed speaking of the woman who's family had supposedly been killed by brigands. Shizuka himself didn't speak with the woman, though Eula did and not it seemed that the story wasn't holding up.

He had his thoughts interrupted by Eula, who began asking him about the morality of the job. If their suspicions were true, they were taking up a job to get revenge for a woman who killed her own family just to be with someone who abandoned her anyway. It seemed his automation companion had trouble grasping complex moral situations like this. He sigh before speaking, the whole situation taking an unexpected turn.

"No, Eula, it's not right taking revenge for someone who killed their own family. But, I'm afraid it's for the best that we see this through to the end. After all, they're still bandits and have likely committed their share of havoc within all this chaos. If left to their devices, it may lead to more problems down the line."

He turned to face the stronghold. "Once we've finished here, we'll go back to that woman and make her tell us the truth of the matter - one way or another." He began to focus a bit of his chi as he noticed a small group of bandits walking together. After gathering his energy, he breathed out a large volume of mist that began to cover the vicinity the brigands were in. Naturally, they were taken aback by the sudden fog. However, they began to be further startled by the illusions of warriors attacking them. They pulled there blades out and started attacking them, only to have the warriors vanish - revealing they had attack their comrade instead. The illusion was slowly driving them off the rails and unknowingly forcing them to attack one another.

Satisfied with the effect of his technique he quickly turned to Eula. "The fog will deal with these droogs and cover our approach. You should be able to sense their mana through it as well, I presume. I'll search for the leader, see if you can do something about the others with the crossbows. Be careful!" He said, vanishing using Shinsoku to run among the confusion.

Terauchi Temple

Having finally made it back to the temple, the trio was greeted by Ayu. Luna corrected the spy in that the woman was a prisoner of sorts, they did after all need information from her. Ayu escorted her to come living quarters, which would hopefully make her feel more comfortable and more cooperative later on.

The two sisters where then greeted by an arm each wrapping around both of them, then being pulled center ward towards the origin. They both let out cute yelps before realizing it was nothing other than Skarsneek giving a usual greeting.

"Oh! Skars-kun, I see you've returned from your mission as well? I hope everything went alright, ours had went well to for the most part. Oh, but my sis-" She was cut off midsentence by her sister, who now had an outlet to unleash all of her irritation out on.

"Well, now, if it isn't the ditcher himself! You know, you've got a lot of nerve just up and leaving me earlier this morning and just running off with other mamono!" She snapped, poking Skarsneek's nose with her finger. "You could've at least waited for me to wake up, you jerk. Honestly, do all goblins behave like this?!" It seemed that the rambling wouldn't end any time soon; Atsuha had plenty of angst that built up over the course of today's events.

Hinami couldn't do much of anything except look on with a somber smile on her face. She then turned to Luna. "Well, all's well that ends well I suppose. Thank you very much for all of your help; Sorae-san can be a handful, but we're so grateful you had a hand in saving her life." She said, making a polite bow. "Say, since we're done with the mission, did you wanna grab a bite to eat?" She then looked over to Io and Liliana "Hey there, would you like to join us as well?" She said, daintily waving at the both of them.
