Chapter 0: Apathy

The story begins with the cast attending a simple summer-camp. Many were bunched around a fireplace, while others were helping each other in the infirmity. However, it was made clear that there was something very wrong going on at this summer-camp - there was something messing with the minds of the students. Which nearly caused a brawl when weed was passed around, and an hallucination was mistaken for the drug being spiked. After being taken away, said student (Claire) was accosted by Scott Reese, son of Sheriff Reese and general pain in the ass for the students. He demanded that he sleep with her, and when he was refused, he got violent. However, another force spoke to him, and guided him deep into the woods - offering him the power to get revenge on them. After accepting the power, Scott underwent a supernatural transformation, and became a hulking brute wielding an axe. After making his presence known by killing one of the teachers and a foolish student, he went on a rampage through the camp - attacking whoever he came across. The students were trapped because the bridge was destroyed, but the only way they could escape was via boat. One small group got the boats ready, while another alerted everyone to the escape plan. After everything was ready, everyone met by the docks, and Scott pursued them. The students were saved by another Awakening, and stopping time to give another time to bind him.

The students escaped, and while trying to row back to shore, a large orange being appeared high up in the sky and attacked them. They were knocked unconscious by the being, and appeared on the shore... having Awakened.

APPEARANCE

"Like the jacket? It almost hides the fact I'm getting fat!"

Kimberly (or Kim as she likes to describe herself) is one of the girls that thinks she's plain. She feels as if she doesn't have the face, body, or curves, of models. And in truth, she doesn't have the attributes that make them attractive. Instead, her round and pudgy face, large angular face, and glasses invoke a librarian look. The appearance of a brainy girl, they wouldn't be that far off. Kimberly likes to look the part. But, in demeanor, she appears to be very excitable, and mobile. Constantly on the move making spastic movements. This energetic, child-like demeanor shows in her face, too. Since, she's constantly smiling, and speaks in a cheerful manner. She speaks fast, but rarely speaks rudely. Not many people would perceive Kimberly as a threat, but some people get the feeling that she's faking. Which is true in some way.

Kimberly's facial features are rounded, and her jawline is practically nonexistent. She at least wished she got to have a jawline, but she digresses. With her nose being large, round, she invokes a very child-like appearance about her. Her lips are almond-shaped, and not that large. Along with her ears being pretty small, and somewhat pointed at the tip - but her ears are always concealed by her lucious head of chocolate-brown wavy hair that goes down to her chest. Her eyes are droopy, and a bright-green color. Kimberly is also known for having an enormous forehead, one that she keeps covered with bangs.

Kimberly is fairly thin, she has a little bit of pudge building up due to lack of exercise, and her terrible eating habits, but it isn't anything that can't be hidden underneath a heavy layer of clothing. Other than that, her skin tone is slightly pale from all the time spent indoor. She has blemishes on her face, and a little bit of acne. She doesn't have any marks on her body, other than a few childhood scars that haven't faded. Her skintone is the result of being primarily French, with a bit of German, and being distantly Blackfoot. As for the rest of her body, she has a banana body-shape. Not a body with a whole lot of curves, her shoulders are around the same width as her waist. Her bust (28H) being fairly small, and same with her hips, she doesn't have a whole lot of curves.

Kimberly dresses fairly plainly. It seems that she never wears outfits that catches the eye. From hoodies with dull colors, and jeans that are a few sizes too large for her. As Kimberly still gets most of her outfits from hand me downs. But, sometimes her attire dips into the hipster as she adorns varsity jackets, and other outdated outfits of the time. But this is rare. The only constant in her outfit is her black, wide-framed, glasses.

PSYCHOLOGY

"I feel normal. Am I normal? Do I look normal?"

MAIN GOAL ⫻ Kimberly doesn't see herself having a main goal, other than getting into the filming business. She wants to advance her little youtube career, and get as much recognition and subscribers as possible.

PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Her outlook on life is basically to let people live. She's not a fan of forcing ideals on other people, and therefore hates the people that do. She believes that people should be free long as they aren't hurting people, or anything of the sort.

SECRETS ⫻ Kimberly has a deep-seated anger, and jealousy, for the people around her all for the fact that they seem to be in better places in life than her. She acknowledges how ridiculous this is, and keeps it as a secret. Instead, she acts chipper, and holds it in, distracting herself with other things.

DESIRES ⫻ Kimberly desires to learn more about herself, and other people, by gaining other perspectives on life. So she can incorporate their philosophy into her own. In addition, she desires companionship, and friendship. People who think and sees things the way she does. She also wants to be self-sustaining as possible.

SEXUALITY ⫻ Kimberly is heterosexual to her core.

FEARS ⫻ Kimberly fears going nowhere in life, and becoming a parasite for her friends and family to leech off their success. Which fuels her obsession with being self-sustaining as possible. In addition, Kimberly fears spiders and all arachnids due to a hilarious prank played on her by her cousin.

REPUTATION ⫻ Kimberly's reputation in Farmer Hill (and arguably Grand Ridge) is iffy at best. She's known as an over imaginative weirdo that plays ghost hunter with a camera. All because of her web series, and her love of being an internet personality. Other than that, she remains relatively unknown, and thus, mostly ignored. Most people know her as the barista chick, while others hardly know her for her bootleg DVD creating business. She likes to keep it that way.

PET PEEVES ⫻ Kimberly is deeply annoyed to her core by hypocrisy, and worst of all, people calling her hypocritical. If you want to get on her bad side really fast, make sure to call her that. In addition, she's annoyed by people who think "it's just a joke" is an okay excuse, people who assume things about people, and close-mindedness.

QUIRKS ⫻ Kimberly has a habit of sticking her tongue out at random points in the middle of interaction. Kimberly also has the habit of holding up her camera to her chin at random points.

BACKSTORY

"There's nothing to it, other than me wanting to get the hell up out of Farmer Hill."

Kimberly was born a native of Farmer Hill, born the child of a banker, and a soldier in the army. Kimberly's father was away for most of her life, but her mother made sure to pick up the slack. And when it became hard, her mother would always seek out her extended family, who were also situated in Farmer Hill. Thus, Kimberly had all the love and affection she needed so she doesn't become a psychopath. There was one of her cousins that Kimberly was fairly close to as a child; Beth Walton. The child of her uncle. You see, Kimberly and Beth were the best of friends, and would spend literally hours together every day. It was like Kimberly had the sibling she always wanted! The two especially loved exploring, and traveling to different cities.

But, as they grew older, they began to develop interests and whatnot in photography. It started with buying a cheap disposable camera from the supermarket, and then it sparked into buying them hundred dollar cameras. The two kids had developed an artistic eye from a young age, and loved taking pictures of everything they could. Once this became a bit more serious, Beth and Kimberly agreed that they would become the greatest two photographers in the world. That they would go to Grand Ridge Academy for Photography. The moment came where they both graduated from highschool, and college was coming around. Kimberly got accepted into Grand Ridge.

As for Beth? She went to a college in upstate New York. Leaving behind Kimberly to pursue her own goals.

Kimberly was hurt by the betrayal, and could never get a straight answer from Beth. It'd always be something about how she wanted to travel, or how her parents wanted to go, and how she wanted Kimberly to live her life. Only for Beth to send photos to Kimberly of her exploits. Never getting the answer she wanted, Kimberly became disillusioned with her photography, eventually having to drop out of her photography class, and skip a semester as she decided to reevaluate herself.

Kimberly got a job in cafe Sucre (as they were desperate for fresh blood), and developed a mild obsession with web series. As an experiment, she made a few videos with her phone and put them on Youtube under the pen name "PaperSister_07." What little reception she got from the videos was very positive, and motivated her to try something different. She used her camera's camcorder function to record better videos, and give herself a better idea of what she wanted to do.

Her web series (Named "Project: Worlds Unknown") was a ghost hunter series where Kimberly plays a paranormal investigator that hunts monsters of the world. It got fairly good reception, and that was what motivated Kimberly to not only buy better equipment, but pursue a career in Cinematography.

Afterwards, her popularity boomed (she currently has over a hundred-thousand subscribers), and she became an internet personality.

SKILLS & TALENTS

"I'm good at sending my friends memes, that's a start."

Photography ⫻ Kimberly was born to be a photographer. Even from a young age, she put any cheap camera she could find to good use. Now that her equipment and skills have advanced quite a bit, she has quite a photographic eye. With her camera never leaving her side, few things miss her.

Cinematography ⫻ Kimberly was already a bit ahead of the curve with her expertise in photography. The moment she started recording her web series, and taking classes, she entered a whole new area entirely. While she is no professional, she isn't a novice either.

Eagle-Eyed ⫻ Leading into the above skill, Kimberly has a very good eye for detail, and is perceptive. Not even the most subtle movement gets past her.

Climbing ⫻ Kimberly, to help her take better pictures, have undergone a training to learn to climb things better. So far, she is pretty good. Enough to climb fences at the pace of a slug.

ABSTRACTION

ABSTRACTION ⫻ Photographic-Teleportation, the ability to teleport to different locations using photos as a medium.

ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Kimberly's Abstraction manifested in her love of photography. If she has a photo of a location in her hands, she is engulfed in a white light, and is sent to that location. It'll take a few moments to "charge" but she'll appear there in a flash of light. It just takes a bit of focus, and envisioning. She has to focus on the picture, and picture herself being there, and then she'll begin "charging," as the aura of light surrounds her. This ability works with any place that Kimberly has taken a picture of, and regardless of if it's a physical picture, or a digital one. She could possibly teleport to pictures taken with her phone, or ancient ones, but it's a lot more time consuming. She can bring people with her, but they must be in close proximity, and must also envision themselves appearing in that place. Kimberly can only teleport in places in Farmer Hill, and the further away it is, the longer it takes to charge.

IN THE PRESENCE OF THE MOUNTAIN ⫻ When infused with the power of the mountain, Kimberly's ability takes less time to charge, and requires less focus. In theory, she could instantly teleport somewhere. This is only a passive buff, she has a few other abilities unlocked in the process. If she focuses on a place hard enough, she is able to scry on the location through the photo. She can see everything going on in the photo in real time as if she was there. A good ability for spying, albeit situational. The ultimate ability that the mountain grants her is the ability to possibly time-travel. It's not something she can do at will, and requires a ton of focus, but she may travel to the specific point where the photo was taken.

AURA SENSING ⫻ Kimberly's unlocked aura-reading potential manifests, again, in photography. She gains the aura to see the auras of people and objects that she has taken pictures long as it is within eighty meters of herself. Even if the object is moving from the point where she took the photo, she can still sense it.

LIMITS ⫻ Kimberly can travel anywhere in Farmer Hill (She cannot teleport further than that), but the further away from her current position, the longer it'll take. She may be able to instantly teleport to a spot a few feet away from her, or take ten seconds to teleport twenty feet, but it requires a few moments of constant mental focus to teleport further. In this time, she has to stay still, and focused. Or else she'll lose focus, and the charge will be "reset." This makes her vulnerable. In addition, if the photograph is damaged in any way, she'll only teleport part of the way there. There isn't a limit to how many people she can teleport, long as they envision themselves being in the location of the photo, too.

WEAKNESSES ⫻ Due to the nature of her ability, there isn't too many weaknesses to her ability due to the low-powered nature of the abilities, but she has plenty of limits. There's only one weakness, and it's a mental one. Usage of her ability increases her feelings of jealousy... to homicidal levels. It may cause her to act stupidly jealous of the people around her, and may cause aggression in all of her interactions.

OTHER

"Nothing to see here."

While Project: Worlds Unknown is a paranormal show, Kimberly hasn't encountered the supernatural, nor does she believe in it. The camcorder that Kimberly uses is a Sony - Handycam AX53 4K, which is what has served her well until she gets a new one. As for cameras, Kimberly has a Sony cybershot digital camera (one of the compact models), and an instant print camera she got off Amazon. If she had to chose one, she'd chose the instant-print due to authenticity.

Kimberly also runs a business creating bootleg DVDs, and delivers them to get some extra cash.

Jordan Destiny Nichols

APPEARANCE

"No, stop asking about my damn leg."

Jordan doesn't appear to be the most approachable girl in Farmer Hill. Probably due to that scowl on her face, or that look of general irritation. Her voice is a bit gruff (due to all the smoking she does, but that is neither here nor there) and definitely doesn't help. Usually, she has a demeanor of someone that keeps to themselves, and that shows in how quiet she is. But, when she speaks, no one has a louder voice or presence than Jordan. Though, Jordan cannot walk with confidence, or even straight like other people her age do. Jordan walks with a heavy limp, as if she received a horrible injury when she was younger. She can still walk at the same pace as everyone else, but they can tell she has a problem. Closer examination tells that Jordan makes careful, and deliberate movements. Nothing sudden, or sloppy. Even as she runs, it looks like she's carefully making every single step to avoid tripping.

But, the one thing that makes her stand out in Farmer Hill so much is heritage. Jordan is African-American in a town that is primarily white. Not a native of the township, however, her "city" (Philadelphian) accent. Jordan's skin is a much lighter shade of brown, almost tan. She's what's called "light-skinned." Jordan's skin is fairly good due to all the maintenence done to it, with only a few blemishes around her body. Jordan's hair is a black color with an afro-texture, and her lips are very large, and thick. Hardly disproportionate to her relatively same sized nose, with a thick nose-bridge, and nostrils. Her eyes are small, unturned, and her irises are a dark-brown color. Jordan's ears are a crescent-shape, and medium-sized.

Jordan has plenty of tattoos all over her body. The most notable one is the weave of roses on the left side of her chest, above her breast. Going down her left thigh is three roses with abnormally long stems. On her right arm, she has a large tattoo that says "In Loving Memory of Madison Brown." But, on her right leg, there is a disgusting scar. It appears to be from surgery, but it also looks like her leg has been mangled to the point of no return. It's amazing that she can still stand up on her - but Jordan is more than willing to take barely standing than no standing. She also has a few piercings. On her ears, nose, belly-button, and nipples.

Jordan's build is fairly thin, and well-toned. She's in no means muscular, but she has some definition to her body. Of course, this tone appears to be fading, but Jordan still retains some body definition from before the accident. Her active metabolism, good eating habits, and exercise help her stay in shape. Because the last thing that Jordan wants is to become a land whale. Accident or no.

PSYCHOLOGY

"Even though living with everything that happened is hard, I'm trying. I'm going to live confidently, and the way I want to... I keep telling myself that I won't let guilt kill me."

MAIN GOAL ⫻ Jordan had one goal in life: becoming the world's best musician, and putting her passion into music. Spreading it all across the world, and letting the world enjoy her art. Nowadays, she still wants to be a musician, but she also wants to get over this deep-seated guilt, and find happiness in anyway possible.

PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Jordan's philosophy is a simple one; people have one life, and one life only. That life is too short to hold onto grudges, but too long to go into it without planning. She thinks that too many people find reasons to be unhappy, rather than just making the most out of life. She believes that everyone is worthy of respect, even if they don't deserve it, and that other people should do the same. Jordan believes her character is strong because she isn't afraid to admit where she's wrong, and is honest with her emotions, and passions, above all else.

SECRETS ⫻ Jordan doesn't have any notable secrets (other than that time she ate her roomie's cake (that shit was good, though)).

DESIRES ⫻ Jordan wants to be remembered (and remembered fondly) above all else. She doesn't go out of her way to put people down, and tries to support people the best she can. So, she'll be remembered for everything she does.

SEXUALITY ⫻ Jordan is heterosexual, but she feels her sexuality is fluid. Anyone that'd comfort her. There were times she kissed a girl. But, maintains that she is attracted to boys above all else.

FEARS ⫻ Jordan, as you may have expected, fears being forgotten. She looked to many people in her family's past, and realized how little people knew them, and how little they accomplished. How little they were remembered. Which is why she wants to be the one person to stand out. Jordan also has a slight phobia of alcohol, after the accident that destroyed her leg. She's mostly afraid of what she'll do under the influence. Not anything that causes her to freeze in fear, but she avoids it.

REPUTATION ⫻ Jordan's reputation in Farmer Hill is relatively poor due to her skin color. Few people know her other than being "the black city girl." In Grand Ridge Academy, however, her reputation is a lot better, due to her kind attitude.

PET PEEVES ⫻ Jordan hates excessive drinking, and people who brag about drinking. She avoids those kinds of people like the plague.

QUIRKS ⫻ Jordan has a habit of constantly adjusting her appearance. Fixing her hair, adjusting her clothes, etc. Almost as if it's imperfect, and needs constant correction.

BACKSTORY

"I wish I could change it. So god damn badly."

Jordan was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in a relatively lower-class family. She didn't have the best upbringing, but definitely made the best of it. Most importantly, she was never alone. She, not only had a big family, but a knack for befriending people. She seemed to be borned with a special kind of charisma. These people taught Jordan morality, and the importance of basic human decency... to a point. She definitely wasn't one to take bullying, and lashed back as hard as they did. She did the best she could to befriend as many people as possible.

It wasn't long before Jordan's interest in music developed into something more. It became a passion. It started with music class at school, and then it evolved into wanting a guitar. Her parents could barely afford it, but they got it for her for her birthday. It was difficult for her to learn with no teacher, but she found every way she could. Until she knew the guitar like the back of her hand. A friend teaching her helped. As the years went by, Jordan's passion for the guitar remained. Regardless of what mood she was feeling.

Eventually, she tried singing... with mixed results.

Either way, Jordan wanted to do it for a living, even though everyone told her that it was a terrible idea, but she didn't listen. She was happy, and that was the way she was going to live. One of the people to encourage her was Madison Brown, one of the cousins she knew as long as she could remember. Madison encouraged Jordan to do whatever made her happy, and was the closest link in her extended family. If there was someone Jordan would tell someone, it would be Madison.

Hitting highschool, Jordan hit it off with the "popular crowd." The kind of kids with no sense, that everyone wanted to be. All because of her personality, and attitude. She was the person who kept them in line, in a sense, while also enjoying the benefits they had to offer. Such as status, and a good time. She helped her cousin Madison get into this crowd, and that enriched the experience for Jordan.

This experience went on, Jordan felt like she was on top of the world. Until she hit graduation... and the worst day of her life took place. She and her friends went on a hardcore night of debauchery. Full of drinking, sex, and partying like it was the last day of their young lives. Jordan was driving them around, drinking like a fool. On a dare, Jordan ran a light, and was hit by another car. The car was sent flying, and Jordan hit another car. The car was horribly mangled, and Jordan was impaled through the leg with a steel beam. The rest of her occupants weren't doing any better, were either badly wounded or... in the case of Madison Brown, dead. Bust her head open when the second car hit her.

Jordan didn't even get to see it, as she had passed out due to traumatic shock. She woke up in a hospital, and was told what happened. What happened to Madison... and was sent into a deep descent. Jordan was catatonic for a day straight as she processed what happened. She was consumed by guilt, she felt responsible for what happened to her cousin. She took some time off from her passion to come to term with what happened. Though, her leg was badly injured, and she would never walk the same again. Hell, it took months of physical therapy to learn how to walk again. Then it tooks even more months of psychological therapy to come to terms with how reckless and stupid she was back then, and how it cost someone their life. She promised that she would never do something like that again.

Then she turned to the guitar to alleviate stress, and remembered her goal in life. Becoming one of the best guitarists the world has to offer, and hell if she was going to let a bad leg stop her. Her parents surprised her with an acceptance letter to Grand Ridge Academy. Before shipping her off to Montana... and one of the biggest changes of pace of her life.

SKILLS & TALENTS

"It's something I use to cope, anything."

Guitar ⫻ Jordan had that musical touch from a young age. Almost literally, as she can play a guitar like a madman. It doesn't matter what kind, but Jordan prefers the acoustic guitar.

Singing ⫻ While her singing voice isn't the best out there, she knows how to work with it. Years upon years of singing classes, and talent shows, have made Jordan into a great singer. Her tone changes are great, and she never sings off key.

ABSTRACTION

"... And everything froze. I thought it was just a shock kind of thing, but literally nothing moved... except for you."

SIGIL & LOCATION ⫻ The symbol of an hour-glass, large and placed on her back.

ABSTRACTION ⫻ Temporal-Pausing, the ability to stop time, while being able to freely move.

ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Jordan ironically gets the one Abstraction that could have saved her cousin. The ability manifests in creating a temporal field around herself in a seven meter dome. Inside this dome, everything else is frozen in place, but Jordan (and by that extent, other Awakened, as their resistance to each other's powers render them immune to Temporal pausing) are able to move freely. While everything is static, Jordan is able to manipulate the environment by touching it. However, she is unable to manipulate people, who are entirely immutable during Temporal-Pausing. Which means she cannot injure anyone inside the field. Outside the field, paused time is entirely imperceptible to normal people, they just won't notice it - but can be frozen if they enter it. Awakened can see the field, and stopped time. The duration of temporal pausing is somewhat short, around one minute give or take, before time resumes. Once time resumes, any changes that Jordan make will instantly happen. Almost as if she had teleported. However, this isn't a voluntary ability, she has to be in a state of intense stress (I.E be threatened) for it to activate - along with having to perceive the danger. It's almost like a fight or flight reaction. It has a couple minute cooldown before she can do it again.

IN THE PRESENCE OF THE MOUNTAIN ⫻ The mountain extends the range of the temporal field to twenty meters, which is fairly distant. In addition, the extension of the temporal field is greatly increased to five minutes. Which makes her Abstraction much more powerful. The mountain also grants the ability to voluntarily stop time... but only at a short range, and for around twenty seconds. She requires thirty seconds before she can voluntarily stop time again.

AURA SENSING ⫻ Jordan's aura reading is connected to people who are in danger. If someone is presently in danger (or heavily feels they are), Jordan can read their auras from around thirty-two meters.

LIMITS ⫻ When she's away from the mountain; the temporal field lasts for only one minute at a time at most, and afterwards it takes around five minutes before she can stop time again. Which means that there will be a gap in time before she can save herself, or someone else. Awakened are immune to it's effects, and some Extra-normal beings are also resistant to her time changes. She cannot manifest the field at will, she can manifest a weaker field in the presence of the mountain.

WEAKNESSES ⫻ There aren't too many weaknesses to Jordan's ability, other than the fact that some things are outright immune to the time pausing. Which means that there's some instances where her power is completely useless. In addition, she's not the most agile, because she has a bad leg, and her time stopping is sometimes the only thing that can save her.

OTHER

Hagan is a big boy. A very intimidating figure standing at six-five, and what doesn't help is that he's built pretty well due to exercise and working out. To him, he'd rather experience the high of working out, then stuff his face with sweets. Though, he isn't a bodybuilder, he definitely has definition. He looks like a thug, the kind of person that'd kick your ass at the slightest provocation. And that's definitely true. That's the vibe he wants to give off, the aura of an ass kicker. The big man. He takes large steps, and walks with his hand in his pocket. And when he's not walking, he usually has his arms crossed.

Hagan is from the big cities, and not that too used to small town life. You can tell by his city slicker accent, and habit of speaking quickly. He has a somewhat deep voice, but nothing overtly intimidating. It's more rough than anything. Hagan is an Irish-man that is part Scottish, and part Russian. He appears more Russian than anything due to taking after his father. It's to the point where his mother has trouble explaining to people that Hagan is her son. He is Caucasian, with his skin being somewhat fair. There's quite a few scars on his body due to all the roughhousing he does. From fighting, to childhood injuries, etc. His nose has always been a bit crooked from not healing correctly, either. His knuckles are also quite bruised.

Hagan has a fairly well defined face. Starting with his strong jawline, and but his very large butt-chin is a source of jokes. His face is fairly heart-shaped in general. His other facial features are fairly subdued, and small. His nose is droopy with small nostrils, and a thin nose bridge. Which don't look disproportionate compared to his thin lips, and small mouth. His ears are diamond shaped, and pretty big, he has them studded with earrings and other jewelry.

Hagan's style shifts from practical, to sharp. For example, casually he's never seen out of jeans, or boots, unless he's working out, or at home. Usually he'll wear a T-shirt of some kind over top of that. When he wants to make an impression, he'll wear a jacket of some kind, and he always has a jacket for every occassion.

PSYCHOLOGY

"Man, I don't know about this psychology shit. Everyone thinks everyone else is the crazy one. Can your psychology explain that?"

MAIN GOAL ⫻ Hagan doesn't really have a main goal in mind. All he wants to do is live life the meant it was; with him on top.

PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Hagan has a belief that it's every man for himself out here in this world. With all the killing and violence going on, and his father's abandonment, there won't be someone there to hold your hand. Therefore, he believes that you have to cut yourself a piece of the world, or fade into obscurity. He believes that personal strength is the greatest strength of them all, and thinks himself as the strongest. Which is why he's so aggressive, and willing to defend what is his.

SECRETS ⫻ Hagan's biggest secret is his questioning sexuality. He puts on the facade of being the ultimate lady's man, but when he's feeling a greater attraction towards men. Hagan is extremely defensive over this. He'll get incredibly violent at the mere prospect of his sexuality getting out. Which is what got him sent to Farmer Hill in the first place.

DESIRES ⫻ Hagan desires independence, and wants honesty in his life, and the people he hangs around. He also wants to find someone who understands him, and his problems. Whether it's a man, or a woman.

SEXUALITY ⫻ Hagan's sexuality is complicated. He used to think he loved girls, but he doesn't feel that kind of way about them. He's seemingly far more attracted to the male gender, but is aggressively in-denial about it. He'll tear someone a new one rather than admit he's a "fag."

FEARS ⫻ Hagan fears being a deadbeat, a failure, a loser in life. He fears having to rely on anyone else, and fears the growing though that he could be vulnerable. This fear is becoming closer and closer to becoming a reality.

REPUTATION ⫻ Hagan's reputation in Farmer Hill isn't the best; he's known across the township as a knucklehead, and a thug. All because he tends to resort to violence rather quickly. He's not a sight the students of Grand Ridge want to see, they see him as an asshole, a thug, a menace.

PET PEEVES ⫻ Hagan can't stand dishonesty, or fakeness in people. He has little tolerance for people who put on fronts to look cool, or to make friends. Do any of those things, and basically write Hagan off as an ally.

QUIRKS ⫻ No quirks in particular, other than his habit of holding his hand to his face when he's thinking.

BACKSTORY

"God I miss Connecticut."

Hagan isn't a native of Farmer Hill, his mother on the other hand, was. She was the daughter of Douglas Rosefey, the hard farmer man that'd rather live in the fields, than die in the cities. She was the oldest of many children, but was also the only one to make the decision to leave Farmer Hill with her sweetheart Albert Earls. They got married, and moved to Manchester Connecticut, where they lived a relatively peaceful life. Hagan was the result of that marriage. Life was hard, but they made due the best they could. Eventually things improved for the family.

Hagan was a relatively troubled kid growing up, and he didn't played well with others. All because of some behavioral problem the Earls couldn't sort out. Because of this isolation in school, he was singled out, and bullied by the other kids. First it started with teasing, then it didn't take long for it to become physical because they could get away with it. Albert wasn't having it, and thought Hagan the first thing about fighting in order to defend himself. He went back to school, and fought back. Making them back off. This is where Hagan learned that you need strength to get ahead in life

Advancing through school from there was easy, he didn't make too many friends, but he eventually learned to let people in. Hagan was living life at his own pace. That changed when the family split up after the revelation that his father was cheating on his mother with another woman, and even got her pregnant. This came to Hagan so suddenly, and his father left them without a care in the world. Then it just became Hagan, and his mother against the world. Nobody spoke about the falling out, and they had to try extra hard to stay afloat, with their breadwinner gone.

Going into highschool, he was desperate to learn independence from his parents, so when it's his time to out on his own, Hagan would be on his toes. Hagan did the best he could to get through classes, but they were not his speciality. Just for the passion of it, Hagan became a football player, and one of the star players. His name became known across school as the big, hard-hitting, quarterback that got all the girls and kicked ass. However, whenever he got with the girls, it felt hollow. There was something he didn't like.

He had a rather close friend in the football team that he told everything with, and explained his lack of attraction to women. That friend explained that he may not even be into women, and Hagan denied that. Hagan and this friend started to hang out a lot more, and get far closer than ever. Hagan felt something between the two, and it didn't take him long to act on that growing affection. In the locker room, the two shared a kiss when they thought they were alone. They were going to go further, but someone came in, and they stopped.

Hagan aggressively denied that ever happened, and kept away from the "friend." Bottling up his feelings, and throwing them away. Rumors came out that Hagan was "a faggot," and he started to get paranoid. Very defensive. But, it came to a head when a fellow team mate approached him, and said that he saw the whole scene take place. Threatening to tell everyone if Hagan didn't leave the football team. This made the already testy Hagan fly off into a blind rage and brutally beat the boy half to death, anything to ensure that he'd keep his mouth shut.

Unfortunately, the police didn't share the same sentiments, and Hagan was arrested, and spent a few months in juvie.

When he got out, his mother immediately sent him to Farmer Hill, a town he only heard about in off conversation. Because she thought that Hagan needed some time with her father to even him out. And evened out Hagan was. Douglas was the world's biggest hard ass, and he had Hagan working in the fields and farms. He hated it at first, being away from all he built up, but he realized they all saw him as a "a faggot." So, he begun anew in the schools in Farmer Hill, he graduated highschool, and then college came around, and his mother got him into Grand Ridge like she planned on for years.

Hagan, still defensive over his sexuality, calmed down, but there are some outbursts.

SKILLS & TALENTS

"One thing I'm good for kickin' ass. You wanna know why God or whatever deity stays in heaven? Because he doesn't want his teeth knocked out."

Brawling ⫻ Hagan was, at first, taught by his dad how to fight to defend himself from bullies. Brawling on the streets, and other places, have taught him a lot. How to fight dirty. How to fight without mercy. Hagan is definitely one hell of a brawler, and knows how to use that size to his advantage.

Football ⫻ For a majority of his youth, Hagan played football for his local teams. He was one of the star players, and would have tried to go onto the NFL if he wasn't sent to Farmer Hill. He still plays, but he just isn't as good as he used to be. Not that he particularly cares about football anyway.

Farmhand ⫻ Hagan was forced to help on his grandfather's farm as punishment, and continues to do so he can have a house to live in so he can go to school. Hagan knows all sorts of information about animals, and can handle all equipment.

ABSTRACTION

SIGIL & LOCATION ⫻ On his chest, Hagan has the symbol of a shield.

ABSTRACTION ⫻ Barrier-Projection, Hagan has the ability to project a powerful barrier to protect himself and others.

ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Hagan's abstraction manifested in the ability to cast a shield as you could say, around himself, when threatened. This barrier is transparent, near-invisible, with a slight white tint to it. Most importantly, it acts as a solid that prevents anything from passing through it, and keeps the other side safe. When the barrier is touched, it turns opaque around the point of impact. The shape of the barrier depends on the threat presented. If someone is coming at him with a baseball bat, then it'll be relatively flat. If someone comes at him with a flamethrower, the barrier will take a rounder shape. At the moment, it's purely a subconscious ability. With the barriers manifesting to react to danger, rather than Haggar actively using it. Eventually, he'll learn how to create the barriers whenever. The barriers are fairly strong, capable of surviving a barrage of bullets, but will crumble eventually as it begins to weigh down on Hagan.

IN THE PRESENCE OF THE MOUNTAIN ⫻ When Hagan is in the mountain, the shields become twice as durable. Able to take two times the punishment before showing signs of wearing down. His control over the shields are heightened immensely, and allows him to not only create the shields anywhere withintwenty five feet. It also allows him to manipulate the shape of the shield, along with moving it. So, in theory he could use the barriers as a weapon.

AURA SENSING ⫻ Hagan's aura sensing ability is connected to his Abstraction. It allows him to sense the auras of people who have attempted to attack him or anyone he cares about (otherwise triggering the shield), for thirty minutes, over a thirty-five meter radius. As time goes on, the radius will lower until the aura fades from his eyes.

LIMITS ⫻ Hagan can only create barriers in a twenty foot radius to protect himself, and other people he cares about. Beyond that limited radius, he's useless. The barriers are so durable that most attacks would bounce off it, but it's connected to his mental and physical state. If he's feeling particularly defeated, the barriers will lose quite a bit of their strength, and will shred like paper. Passion and courage makes the shields their strongest. He can only create one shield at a time, and the shield can persist as long as Hagan perceives danger, or it is destroyed.

WEAKNESSES ⫻ Hagan's barriers are a bit weaker against extra-normal beings (the Awakened and beyond). The abilities of an Awakened have an easier time breaking down his barriers, and can even pass through them with focus. The shields getting damaged sends a mental backlash to Hagan. It starts as a basic headache, but if the shield gets destroyed, it'll be so bad that he'll be screaming in pain.

OTHER

APPEARANCE

"Looks and brains... I feel like I hit the genetic jackpot."

Lynette is definitely a girl that stands out in the crowd. With her massive head of kinky black hair, and near matching dark skin, she stands out in contrast to the predominately white Farmer Hill. Though, other than that, her aura and demeanor are generally subdued. She generally lingers in the back, out of sight, rather than taking the forefront. Even when she's moving, she doesn't really stand out with any kind of swagger, or confident walk. Her gait is relatively calm, and collected, she slowly takes steps one at a time - and also watches her step in case she steps in or on something. Her voice is soft, but she speaks quietly, and doesn't really shout, or anything of the sort. She can be called mousy, and what gives her a bit of a librarian demeanor is the large, thin-rimmed, glasses, that she wears.

Lynette is definitely African at first glance - specifically Afro-Caribbean with the slight accent she has. What they don't know is that Lynette has a few South American countries in her blood - mainly Columbia, and Argentina, but it goes a bit deeper. Lynette's skin is such a deep black color, that it's hard to tell that she's anything other than black. Her skin is relatively clear - she has a few scars, but nothing that'd really pop up. She does have afro-textured hair, that is very curly, and forms a near-afro of sorts. Her hair is also so dark that it nearly matches her skin. Her hair is very clean and well maintained.

Lynette has plenty of tattoos on her, most of them are easily concealed by her by. On her shoulder, in particular, is the symbol of a raven. Placed over her stomach is a floral wreath that surrounds a moon With the flower being placed right above her belly on. Tattooed on her wrist is a dreamcatcher. On both of her legs, where they start she has a a fancy flowery wreath with feathers hanging off.

Lynette's build is very lanky, and thin, built up from a little bit of yoga and morning jogs to keep the weight off. Though, she definitely isn't without her curves. She has a "bubble-butt" that keeps the boys staring, and has a 36F cup which means she isn't a slouch in the chest department either. This would be great if Lynette had any real interest in romance. Probably the most defining feature about Lynette's face is her full pointed lips, and her small, brown, almond-shaped eyes. Her jawline is sharp, and her cleft-chin is hardly noticeable given how it blends into the rest of her face. Her abnormally large, crescent-shaped ears are thankfully hidden by her enormous afro.

PSYCHOLOGY

"I'm something alright... a lot of different things I'm trying to figure out. But, one thing I'm not is stupid. So, don't take me for it."

MAIN GOAL ⫻ Lynette is trying to figure out her family's past, and what exactly are the "Witch Mothers." All trails point towards Farmer Hill, and she's not going to stop until she finds out about her family's past.

PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Lynette takes a page from Albert Einstein, and says that her life philosophy at its basis is to create satisfaction for herself and other people, and to create something from nothing. Which means that the only way she'll be happy is by learning, and finding out about herself, and her past that she didn't know. Not just for the sake of it, because it's something that she's passionate about.

SECRETS ⫻ One thing that Lynette keeps hush hush about is her fascination with occultism and her search into her grandmother's past. For starters, she doesn't want to sound like some devil worshipping kook - and the fact that she'll probably sound crazy.

DESIRES ⫻ Lynette desires learning, and creativity, though a part of her desires a partner or two to share all this knowledge with. Somebody who's intelligent as she is, and is capable of discussing all of her philosophical concepts with.

SEXUALITY ⫻ Lynette isn't quite sure of what she wants... or if she's even sexual at all. She's tried it with both boys, and even girls, and... it just didn't work. She just wasn't "feeling it." Maybe it was because she had other things on her mind, and no time for romance.

PET PEEVES ⫻ People who expect her to conform to "norms" or other such things and think that she's strange for deviating from them are on top of Lynette's shitlist. She's dealt with a lifetime of being thinking that she's strange because she doesn't get along with people that well, and doesn't want anymore of it.

QUIRKS ⫻ Has a habit of freezing when put on the spot, and can be thrown off by people sometimes. She also carries around her grandmother's journal around everywhere in her purse. Also signs her name with her middle initial.

BACKSTORY

"How did I go from New York to the middle of nowhere? Here, lemme tell you."

Lynette's past was relatively simple: was born in New York as the daughter to a father that worked for one of the big companies situated there. He was no CEO, but he definitely had more than a living wage - all because of good schooling. Lynette's mother was a deaf woman who was one of his coworkers that were brought upon to show that his business is diverse. Eventually, the two got romantically involved, and he ended up marrying her - not before putting a baby in her! That baby was Lynette, the oldest child and start of a vast family with five other siblings coming after her.

Lynette and her siblings were given the best schooling money could buy - and with daddy Dominguez going nowhere, money kept flowing in. She was relatively close to her mother, because her father was busy and she was left alone with raising the kids. Lynette was a bit different than her siblings, because as where they sought out social interaction, Lynette sought out knowledge. She was far more academic than her siblings. She wasn't the most socially outgoing person, but she was by no means socially awkward. She was good enough with interactions to help her gain a friend or two, but largely was ignored by the masses.

Which was fine with Lynette, her raging curiosity was what kept her motivated. Once she hit her teens, puberty hit and she grew out finely. Good enough to attract the attention of a few boys... but none of them went anywhere because it was difficult for Lynette to connect with them - or they just wanted into her pants. She pushed them away... and eventually, through the help of a friend, found the joys of videogaming. It was pretty much her fun outlet she used when she wasn't studying, or researching something. It came to the point where her sisters tried their damn near hardest to pull her away from the consoles, but it wouldn't work.

Lynette gained another hobby when she was digging through her mother's belongings one night - out of a boredom induced curiosity - and found a journal. A journal that belonged to her late-grandmother, oddly written in clear english. It spoke of a line of women that were known as "Witch Mothers," back in her home, and were practitioners of magic. Healers of a different variety that used their talents for good, or bad. Lynette became immediately fascinated with the practice, and immediately went to research it online... only to find nothing of it. She looked into Vodou, but it was nothing like what the journal talked about (or even how the West depicted the religion).

So, Lynette launched a clandestine search into her past, and roots, and surprisingly there are no traces or records of any ancestors past her grandmother - even though her journal explicitly said that there was a long line. Lynette also dug into any form of practice of magic or occultism, and became quite fascinated by the various arts - especially witchcraft. She seemingly became an expert in it in the months that she had researched into it. However, she didn't find a trace of the Witch Mothers, or her bloodline - what she did find, was a little clue to her search.

The end of her grandmother's journal was burnt off, but it mentioned a place known as "Farmer Hill" being a "Nexus." Which was a weird phrase, but Lynette did some googling, and found Farmer Hill, Montana. Which was the only trace she could find. She had become near-obsessed with her grandmother's legacy, and wasn't going to leave it alone at this. So, once she finished high-schools lined up... but she settled on Grand Ridge. Just so she can get to the bottom of this, then transfer to an actually good college.

She started towards her degree in STEM.

SKILLS & TALENTS

"I don't know everything, just what I know."

Spanish ⫻ Lynette has a lot of Spanish in her family, so naturally, she saw to it that she picks up the language. She had her family teach her a little bit, before taking a class in Spanish in high school to perfect it. She, naturally, is very skilled at communicating in Spanish, and can hold conversations at length in Spanish. Though, in Farmer Hill, she just calls people names.

ASL ⫻ Another language that Lynette has picked up dude to having a deaf mother was sign language. Since she was a little girl, she has played interpreter for her so things would be easy. So, naturally, she knows this like the back of her hand. She probably knows sign language as well as she knows English.

Knowledge ⫻ Lynette has always been a Grade-A student. She has spent a great amount of time learning as much as she possibly can from a variety of subjects through her schooling year. Mainly things such as English, Psychology, Geography, and so on. She's incredibly booksmart.

Gaming ⫻ Lynette is also an avid gamer, and that's pretty much what she pretty much spends most of her spare time doing as has more fun with a controller and keyboard than chatting with somebody. She plays a variety of different games, her favorite being competitive games.

Occultism ⫻ Lynette has devoted a great deal of time in researching the various occultic practices of the world. It wasn't all that useful, and was just a little hobby of hers... but she's about to make great usage out of it.

ABSTRACTION

"Am I... a Witch Mother now...?"

ABSTRACTION ⫻ Elemental Glyphs, the ability to produce different elemental effects by drawing their glyphs on an object.

ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Lynette's abstraction is rooted in her fascination in the magical and occult parts of her past, mixed with her interest in spiritualism, and the symbolisms of other cultures. She has an abstraction that is best described as Glyph Magic. How it works is that she basically draws one of five symbols on an object, and an elemental (or psychic) effect (or better described as a "spell") is created from the glyph. Lynette has access to six different elementals; the four classical elements. They are Fire, Water, Air, and Earth, each with their own symbol that needs to be drawn to access their power. After drawing the glyph, Lynette, at will, can command the glyph to use their spell. It can be a fireball, to a wall of ice, to a tremor shock, to even a miniature tornado. However, the scale of the glyph is what dictates its strength. A glyph drawn on her palm will be be able to produce basketball-sized effects (Fireball, ice-ball, etc), while a glyph the size of a car is what will allow her to create the more powerful effects.

There is no real limit to how large or small a glyph can be. In theory, she can create a glyph that encompasses fields, or even the size of countries. That's only a theory, however, as in practice it'd take incredible amounts of time and effort to pull off, and it can easily be interrupted. In addition, Lynette can create glyphs out of any material, on any surface - she just has to draw the glyph. She can draw it in the dirt with a stick, or even draw it on herself with a marker. The glyphs have a "charge," or are a battery, that deplete with usage. The smaller "spells" use less of a charge, while the larger ones take up a lot more energy. The larger glyphs, of course, hold a bigger charge.

Below are the elements Lynette has access to:

Fire: Fire Spells are fairly straight forward as far as elements go. It's essentially conjuring flames, and Lynette has the ability to conjure said flames in a variety of different forms. From the simple fireball to a massive wave of fire. It's fairly flexible in usage, and the damage it causes cannot be ignored.

Water: Water is the element that Lynette has the highest affinity towards, which means this form of magic is the strongest, and she can do the most with it. Water comes in several forms: Liquid, gas, and solid. In it's liquid form, Lynette is able to create water in a variety of different shapes. From a jet-stream, a whip, an orb of water, and more. In its liquid form, Lynette is only really able to create obscuring mist, and fog. However, in it's ice form, Lynette is able to create ice in nearly any shape imaginable, limited only by quality. She is capable of manipulating existing water forms by creating a glyph near it.

Air: Unlike the other elements Lynette is unable to create air, but has to manipulate existing air. It's as straightforward as manipulating fire: she can move air in a variety of different forms. From creating breezes, squalls, gusts, whirlwinds, zephyrs, gales, tempests, and even hurricanes if she's able to create a glyph large enough.

Earth: Probably the most destructive, and the element that she has the least affinity towards, but it's easily the most destructive. Earth allows her to manipulate all forms of stone, from natural to artificial. She can cause earth to completely reshape, or send it flying at somebody. She's also capable of manipulating soil, and plant life to a smaller extent. She can even cause tremors by drawing the glyph on the ground.

IN THE PRESENCE OF THE MOUNTAIN ⫻ The mountain's graces allow Lynette to effectively cast spells without needing to draw glyphs first. She gains the ability to manifest "ghost glyphs" on objects by focusing really hard, and creating them on the object. These ghost glyphs effectively are the same as her regular glyphs, but have one usage before they disappear for good. It takes a few moments for them to manifest, and it takes a lengthy wait before the larger ones appear. In addition, if she draws a glyph, she'll be able to cast larger spells from smaller glyphs, and far more efficiently.

AURA SENSING ⫻ Lynette's aura reading has two ways to activate it. For starters, she can sense the auras of whatever she has drawn a glyph on long as the glyph persists. She can sense it five meter radius. This is more of a "sub" aura-reading ability. The main side of the aura reading roots in her fascination with magic, and occultism. She has the ability to sense whoever uses a magical or extra-normal ability in a twenty-two meter radius, long as they are actively using it. It doesn't work on abilities that work passively.

LIMITS ⫻ To even access the meat of her abstraction, Lynette needs to draw it first. Which can be difficult in a lot of situations and circumstances. It may be easy enough to draw a small glyph, but in order to use the meat of her abstraction she'll need to draw a larger glyph. In addition, the glyph needs to be neatly, and cleanly drawn, or else it won't be nearly as effective. Lynette can only have three active glyphs at a time (five when she's in the presence of the mountain). When she reaches this limit and creates a new one, the oldest glyph will immediately fade away. She can only interact with these glyphs in a five meter radius, once she's outside of it, they are effectively useless until she gets back in range. The glyphs will also fade away after twenty minutes.

WEAKNESSES ⫻ The glyphs can be destroyed, by either supernatural or mundane means. Even smudging it greatly is enough to render it useless. In addition, glyphs can be destroyed by being exposed to their opposing element (Fire can be erased by a cup of water, air can be removed by a rock, etc). In addition, Lynette lacks any immunities or protections from these elements - and neither does whatever she draws the glyphs on. She can be burned by fire, frozen by ice, and so on... so it's ill-advised that she creates the glyphs on herself. Lest she wants to give herself a nasty burn.

When Claire walks in, she'll definitely catch your attention. Whether it's her immense height for a female, attire, eye catchingly loud attitude, or "badass" demeanor that she gives off. She usually has a scowl on her face, and keeps up an aura of a very venomous snake. One that you want to stay faaaaaar away from as possible. Unless you want to get bit. Course, that aura flips in the blink of an eye, that scowls turns upside down, and Claire is being personable and vibrant. It makes it hard to get a read or her, but easy to stop judging a book by it's cover. Or she just looks like a complete and utter tryhard.

Claire is a tomboy, just super masculine. Whether it's her gruff, weathered voice, from all the smoking she does, and the tough-girl demeanor she gives off. Though, her body is fairly thin, and not especially muscular or fat. She seems to get by on the smallest amount of exercise, and the highest metabolism possible. Though, all the running she does (from people, and just in general) makes it easy to keep the body fat off. The other problem with the whole "masculine" thing is that Claire's body is fairly... flat. She doesn't have too many curves. Her chest is a 32D, and her behind is pretty flat, lacking in sex appeal. She has a boyest frame, to put it lightly. That's not even getting into her short brown pixie cut, or the fact that Claire is enormous (up there with the boys).

To say the least, Claire doesn't care that much about being the prettiest princess, or any of that jazz. She's already self-conscious. She's an Irish-woman to her very bone, and has a snappy attitude to match it. She's quick with her jabs, and will go to furiously angry in the blink of an eye. Claire's skintone is somewhat tanned due to all the sunlight she gets, but not too brown. She has like a slight brown hue.

Claire's fairly obsessed with the punk aesthetic, so that is something she adopted well. From her short hair, to her makeup (usually she has on eyeshadow), to the piercings all over her body (her cheek, nose, ear, belly button, and nipples, are pierced). To her attire, she dresses to get a point across - other than that she likes punk - she wants to look tough, and look good. She dresses like a stereotypical tough-girl by wearing studded jackets, heavy boots, and more. Sometimes she dresses even lighter in things like t-shirts and jeans, and with her resting bitch face alone she gets across her point. Ironically enough, she doesn't have any tattoos at all.

She has a diamond-shaped head that gets thinner the more you go down. She has a fairly good looking triangle-shaped nose, with triangular nostrils, and a thinnish nose bridge. Her eyes are unturned, and medium-sized, they usually have a piercing gaze in them as if Claire is staring right through you. Eye colors are a light-brown color to match her dark-brown haircolor. Ears are crescent shaped, and pretty damn big, not hilarious, but you'll definitely pay a bit of attention to them. Her lips are thin, and probably the least ladylike possible to make it hard to kiss her. To top it off, her jaw is squared, and sharp.

PSYCHOLOGY

"On a scale of one to school shooter, how much therapy do I need?"

MAIN GOAL ⫻ Claire's main goal in life is to, surprisingly, become a nurse. She wants to help people, and be someone who will make a difference in life.

PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Claire believes that everyone has a happiness out there, waiting for them, and most importantly, the decency of human kindness. She believes that there is good in everyone, and unhappy or bad people are the people who need kindness the most. She hates the self-sustaining cycle of rage and hatred that consume so many people (Even though she's pretty angry herself), so she'll do anything to break it. Claire believes that true happiness comes from helping people.

SECRETS ⫻ Claire's biggest secret is her past. She hates the abuse she suffers, and will do anything to move on from it. To her, her parents died long before she was even born, and she lived with her grandparents for god knows how long. In addition, she keeps her sex life a secret due to the shame associated with it, and that she's not quite ready to come out as bisexual.

DESIRES ⫻ Claire wants to have fun, and will go to any length to forget about the past. Whether it's indulge in any physical pleasure from sex, drugs, or liquor. The consequences are irrelevant.

SEXUALITY ⫻ Claire used to call herself straight, but she's willing to throw herself into the arms of anyone. She's entertained the thought, and realized that she's bisexual from this point forward. Something that she's not willing to say out loud, but the girls of Farmer Hill don't seem to object.

FEARS ⫻ Above all else, Claire fears being weak. She fears that she lacks the strength to be her own person, and that she'll fail when it's the most important. Which has caused an obsession with appearing tough, and looking for strength whereever she can.

REPUTATION ⫻ Claire's reputation in Farmer Hill is pretty shitty. For starters, she's seen as the town bicycle. That's not great. On the other hand, all the shitty things she's done like vandalism, theft, and other acts, are catching up to her. Everyone in Farmer Hill knows about her, and knows she's a wild child.

PET PEEVES ⫻ Claire's main pet peeve is assuming things without knowing the context (or putting in the effort to learn it). Such as Claire, everyone assumes that she's trouble because of a variety of rumors, or just because they don't like her. She hates people who say and do things they don't believe in for approval, and she hates hypocrisy above all else.

QUIRKS ⫻ Claire has the oddest habit of them all... chewing on objects. It's a habit that she had when she was a kid. Whenever she gets a chance, she'll chew on a solid object that'll fit in her mouth. Which is why a lot of her childhood toys have chew marks on them.

BACKSTORY

"Why do you care about where I came from? Farmer Hill, Montana... Jesus..."

Claire was once a good girl, many moons ago. She had hope, she believed in something. She was just a native of Farmer Hill, the daughter of a diner owner, and a waitress. Everything was good... up until the diner was closed down due to running out of money. Then the O'Sullivan's idyllic dream went sour, and they moved to a trailer park in Mason Square. The downgrade tore the O'Sullivan family apart, and Claire's parents turned to alcohol to cope. And they weren't the happy kind of drunks. They were the violent kind of drunks that turned their rage on anything they could.

Claire was too young to understand alcohol, but she had no choice but to take the beatings with a straight face. Might as well, because it wasn't like Claire had any other options. She would go to school, and lie about what happened. Eventually, Claire became the punching bag for all sorts of abuse, since her parents had no one else to vent their rage towards. And there wasn't anything Claire could do to stop them. She'd be homeless or dead if she tried to fight back, but this planted rage in Claire. Rage towards her parents, and rage towards herself due to being so weak.

There were some comfort in life; her grandparents. She went to stay with them as much as she could, since they only lived a short walk away at their ranch. She stayed there long as she could, as much as she could. Coming up with excuse after excuse... until they got suspicious, and called child services. This was the relief that Claire was looking for, and she spilled everything they did. She was promptly removed from their household, and placed in the care of her grandparents. With her parents instructed to never come anywhere near her, or her grandparents.

This was like the dream that Claire was desperately looking for... only that the damage was already done. She thought that it was over, but the mental damage was already done. She couldn't help but think about them constantly, and it hurt her in every way. As she matured and developed, she lashed out, and eventually sought solace wherever she possibly could. It started with hanging out with the wrong crowd, to trying drugs, to experimenting with the same gender. In the end... it became a habit that shaped her. Into a hedonist that wants to do anything to forget about the past, and erase those thoughts.

Though, there were a few people that were able to keep her on the straight on the straight and narrow, people that reminded her of what she really was deep down. The first person was Zoey Gray, a girl that Claire had known since she was a little girl - before the abuse started. Zoey and Claire were inseparable, and even with the changes, Zoey stuck with Claire. Their friendship was incredibly close (to the point where people wondered if they were seeing each other), but Claire wanted to keep it platonic. Because she felt like Zoey was too good for her - case in point, Zoey was beginning to emulate Claire.

The other person, who was more surprising, was Britney Williams, whom was one of the town's princesses. Their friendship was formed by Britney's desire to rebel, and they became friends. Briefly, and secretly, they both became much closer than friends, but they drifted apart rather quickly. However, they remained in touch, remembering the fun they had.

Claire got through school, and wondered about her future... and decided to follow her long lost wish of becoming a nurse. Her grandparents had already saved up enough money for her to get through school, or at least try to, so she got into Grand Ridge Academy. Which she has been attending for a few months, trying to get her life back in order, but yet, she's finding it hard not to fall back onto old habits. She still had problems, and she still looked for ways to ease the pain, anything to make it hurt less. Having sex with her classmates made it hard to shake the "town bicycle" reputation she had before.

She still improved, however. At parties, she went a little lighter on a drinking, and wasn't as easy as she once was. With the help of Zoey Gray at her side, she had her own little coach, and everything was going great. Then the semester ended and Zoey signed up for a camping trip that Grand Ridge was hosting that was supposed to take place over the summer, and Claire wondered, why not...

Medical ⫻ Claire, for what it's worth, sticks to those books. She's determined to become a nurse, and has all sorts of medical knowledge. She knows injuries, and how to treat them. Hand her a medkit, and she'll have a stab wound patched up to the best of her ability... enough to get someone to a real doctor.

Sneaky ⫻ Years of acting out requires years of hiding. There was several times where Claire had to dip and duck from someone she robbed, or someone's house she vandalized. She turned it into an art, actually. Even if she got caught, she can run!

Tagging ⫻ A little thing she picked up from her friend Zoey was her talent with spraypainting. She has become an expert in tagging any surface, and creating art from nothing.

ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Claire's abstraction is practically a lower-yield version of telekinesis. Except she can only use that telekinesis on touch with other abilities. It's the manifestation of her will-power in her body, and allows her to tap into a strength that no one else has access to. She is immensely stronger than a human being should be, being able to lift 450lb with no problem normally, and strike with bone-breaking amounts of force. Because it's telekinetic in nature, she doesn't have to worry about bracing, and grip, because a telekinetic-field is wrapped around it and allows her to move it. Simulating true strength. This ability also comes with a durability. When she senses danger, she subconsciously projects a defensive field around herself which blocks damage. However, there's a limit to how much it can take before breaking. It can, at most, stop five pistol rounds before giving in. Which means that weakshit punches and kicks will only annoy her slightly. Whenever she uses her ability it creates a blue aura around herself, specifically the limb that is doing the work (so if she gets punched, the aura should appear at the point of impact). The Abstraction, like the powers of many Awakened, are linked to her emotions. Feeling anger will increase the potency of her strength, and durability. To the point where she can lift up 750lb, and take a hailfire of bullets, at max rage. This changes the color of her aura to a bright-red color, and gives off a red "smoke."

IN THE PRESENCE OF THE MOUNTAIN ⫻ The mountain, of course allows her to normally lift around 1050lb, and 1225lb when enraged. Making her a physical powerhouse, but it breaks a sub-conscious limit in her head and allows her to use telekinesis. It allows her to lift up any object that is below a hundred pounds, and small, and manipulate it. Twist it, move it, and send it flying. She can only lift up around two objects at a time, and it requires hand movement from both of her hands - one for each object.

AURA SENSING ⫻ Claire's aura reading potential stems from her innate empathy. She can sense the auras of anyone that is injured, but how injured dictates how far away she can sense them. She may be able to faintly sense someone who cut themselves, but she can sense someone who is horribly wounded from 68 meters away. Note that this only applies to people who are presently injured. If someone were have been treated for their injuries, they'll be invisible to Claire.

LIMITS ⫻ Claire's abstraction, like many others, require a degree of mental effort in order to tap into its telekinetic force. Such prolongation of usage tends to weaken her body and mind; and in order to avoid headache and fatigue Claire has to limit herself in using her abstraction, usually few minutes of extensive and constant use before she feels such effects. Giving proper use and control, Claire manages to use her power for at least 30 minutes or two third of that if in stressful situations. Other Awakened can resist her field's effects, and thank blows from her.

WEAKNESSES ⫻ Claire's field can possibly be ignored by the Awakened, and other Extra-Normal beings. As her shield only protects her from physical harm, but not mental. A mental ability of any kind being used on her can interfere with the connection between her shield and her mind, and make her vulnerable by removing it. Or creating a weakness in the shell.

Britney definitely has a bit of size to her body. From the fact that she's abnormally tall - both her mom and dad were huge in terms of height - to to her sheer body mass. In fact, her sheer height is the first thing that people notice about her. Something that she's insecure about, very insecure about. Since not too many boys appreciate that she's far taller than them. That's just something that she lives with. The other aspect that makes her look big is her body shape. She has a bit of a oval body-shape that is mostly shaped by extra body fat that she just can't seem to shake off. Though, that body fat compliments her. It makes her very curvy. That was the result of puberty being very kind to Britney. Her behind's size has always been the butt of jokes among friends, and she's definitely chesty (at 44F). She is definitely a woman. Though, because of her body-shape, people also get the impression that she is fat. While she is a bit heavier than other girls, she is definitely not obese.

She has an air of confidence around her, the kind of confidence that she owns the world, and that nothing can touch her. Almost like she is noble. She takes large steps, and has a big smile on her face at all times. That nobility vibe comes in the way she dresses - she wears quite expensive and fancy looking clothing. The kind of attire that gives away that she comes from Farmer Hill's upper class. If that confidence fades for whatever reason, something is very wrong. Though, her tone of voice is quite pleasant (albeit condescending at times), she seems to circumvent that aura by being quite kind and passionate, and happy.

Another thing that makes Britney stick out in a crowd (at least in Farmer Hill) is her skin color. She's African-American, and has a bunch of different African nations flowing through her blood. She's primarily Sierra-Leonean, and Nigerian, but she is distantly Ethiopian, Sudanese, and she even has a bit of Egypt in her. Which gave her her curly brown hair that's well maintained, her facial features, and skull-shape. Her face is pretty round, mostly because of her big rosey cheeks, and her dull jawline. Which gives her a bit of a baby-face. She has a large nose with a wide bridge, and fairly large nostrils. Crescent shaped ears that are pierced, usually with large ear-rings or jewelry. She has thick lips, and a slightly wide mouth that, when she smiles, exposes her very shiny teeth. Her eyes are almond shaped, and a light-brown color.

PSYCHOLOGY

MAIN GOAL ⫻ Britney's goal is to take her own little slice of life, separate from her father. She wants to be her own person, and be seen as something more than just her "father's daughter."

PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Britney believes the only way to get what you want in life is through hard work and dedication. Basically to succeed at life, all you need is a clear vision, and a little bit of dedication. She believes that the people that "failed" at life just weren't passionate enough, and are hardly worthy of her time. In addition, she believes that money doesn't necessarily equate status. To her, it's a tool, a means to an end. Just because she's wealthy, doesn't mean she's any more or less special than anyone else.

SECRETS ⫻ Britney witnessed something a very long time ago, and was cued into a few secrets from Farmer Hill's elite... even if they don't think too much of the Williams family. Other than that, she keeps her nude habits a strict secret.

DESIRES ⫻ Britney desires independence more than anything else. To be seen as her own person. She hates the fact that she's only known as a wealthy man's daughter, and wishes to step out of that shadow the best she can. She wants to forge her own identity for herself. She also desires companionship in the people around her, and find people who think like her. No matter of their wealth. Also to grow her garden to be the largest and most luxurious in all Farmer Hill.

SEXUALITY ⫻ Britney is bisexual, leaning heavily on girls. She discovered this trait during a close encounter with her friend, Claire. FEARS ⫻ Britney fears dependance more than anything. She has a deep-seated fear of having to rely on anyone in life, all because she truly wishes to step out of her father's shadow so much.

REPUTATION ⫻ Britney's reputation is a mixed bag. There's not too many people who don't know who Britney Williams is. All because her family has a heavy hand in the politics of Farmer Hill.. and also have screwed over more than a few families, and left them homeless. That already gave her a bad start reputation-wise. On a more personal level, Britney's reputation is poor a lot of people due to her attitudes, and whatnot. She is known for being a rich bitch, and quite snooty at times. Very standoffish.

PET PEEVES ⫻ Britney has a bit of respect for rules, and order. She can't stand people who can't take things seriously, or just have to buck the system for no reason. She also hates people who are unable to take responsibility for their actions, and would turn her nose up at those people at the drop of a hat.

QUIRKS ⫻ Britney has a habit of singing to herself when bored, or busy with work. Expect to hear her sing a song or two during times of silence. Another weird thing she does is her little love of nudity. When no one is around, she likes to strip herself of clothing and simply walk around. Usually done in private, but sometimes she is a bit more adventurous with skinny dipping, and nude morning walks.

BACKSTORY

"It's nothing you need to know, sweetheart."

While Britney herself is a native of Farmer Hill, her ancestors were not. It started all the way back before Britney's father was even born. Her grandfather was a very wealthy man that seemingly appeared out of the blue (Actually from Philadelphia), and landed in Farmer Hill. Starting a series of successful businesses in Farmer Hill, and quickly and aggressively snatching power and businesses from the natives of Farmer Hill - forcing some out of jobs. It was a sight to see one man gain so much power in a short amount of time, and it was even more pride hurting for the racist members of the community that a lot of the businesses are owned by a black man. Which escalated the Williams family to a higher status within the small town.

This legacy/empire continues to modern day, when the Williams family still have a strong foothold in Farmer Hill's community. Britney was born as the first daughter of her father's new generation, and three siblings followed. While daddy worked hard in the offices keeping the businesses afloat, Britney lived the highlife. She had everything that the city had to offer at her disposal, and she used it. From going to expensive schools out of town, to buying expensive clothes, to going on luxurious vacations abroad! She was living the life that people could only dream of.

Though, Britney's life was a truly lonely one. She really didn't have anyone other than herself, and her extended family. No real friendship. Exploring the US and the luxurious vacations didn't seem all that great when she went home to nobody. She felt that nobody cared. To help her end her loneliness (or at least distract herself from it) she picked up hobbies. The one that she grew to love the most is gardening. She didn't know what drew her to the hobby, but she loves doing it more than anything else. Nothing excites her more than going out and forging her garden into something special. The garden in the back of the William estate was created by her.

Britney's philosophy was heavily shaped by her mother. She did her best to keep Britney realistic, and remind her that she is one piece of a greater world. One beyond Farmer Hill. As she grew up, she tried to carefully examine her mother's words, as she began to self-examine. She went out to Farmer Hill, and tried to make friends with the other people her age. Some rejected her, in time, she began to make friends with the other girls her age. That put the idea in her head that she could do anything if she put her mind to it. She brought loneliness to an end, so she could bring anything to an end.

Her father learned of her activities, and brought an end to it. That did nothing to prevent Britney from going out, and having fun with her friends. The last thing she wanted to be was cooped up inside some shitty mansion all day, so she went out and had fun. She met a variety of people she is friends with to this very day. One of her closest friends was one of the town trouble makers, Claire O'Sullivan, and they were practically inseparable. Though, they both discovered something about themselves skinny dipping one night that got rather heated. Sharing a kiss, the two realized their affections for each other. Britney didn't know how to come to terms with it, but kept it a secret. This lead to her relationship with her friend becoming a bit awkward, and eventually they drifted apart.

Once Britney came of age, and graduated high-school, she chose to attend Grand Ridge Academy to master in Business, and Administration. Because she realized that the hatred of her father, and her self-loathing, will never end unless she becomes her own person.

Gardening ⫻ Britney is an expert gardener. From when she was young, she learned how to garden, and the ins and outs of all plant life. This botany knowledge allows her to identify plants, and knows different ways to apply those plants.

ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Spawning from her inherent joy, and love of gardening, Britney gained a connection with plants unlike no other. She has to ability to channel the force shared between all Awakened into the areas around her to create and manipulate plant life.

In it's rawest form, she can spawn a wheat colored energy that appears like a floating light anywhere around her with a mere thought, and move this energy around. This energy appears like a spectral force, and from this force, Britney can create any kind of plant life. Seemingly growing it from the light like a source. From this ability, she can create vines, to trees, to bushes, practically anything plant based that is limited by her knowledge of the plant. The only issue is that it takes time for Britney to grow the plant. She can't instantly make a tree appear, of course, but she can quickly make vines appear to attack people with. Now let me note, she doesn't need soil or the sort, she can create it anywhere in a three meter radius (doesn't mean they'll survive long, but yeah). Oh, I should mention that the Blind cannot see this energy, but they can see it's effects.

This energy she can manipulate can also infuse plant life. For starters, it can cause them to grow even more (much faster and more efficiently than creating it from nothing), she can manipulate existing plants, and repair damage plants (possibly reviving plants, removing toxins and diseases, and more). As a side ability, this energy allows Britney to telekinetically manipulate certain plants on a much wider radius. From up to ten meters away, she can telekinetically move things like leaves, fruit, pieces of plant matter, etc. Long as it's less than two pounds, she can lift it - but she is capable of living several things at a time, long as she doesn't lift more than thirty pounds. When she uses her ability, it's accompanied by a wind, nothing drastic. Giving the idea that the wind is doing all the work.

Britney is psychically/mentally connected to all plant life around her in a forty meter radius. She mentally knows where plants are in the area, which part of their life cycle they're in, what kind of plant they are, and what they sense. You see, to an extent, plants can feel, see, smell, and taste (There's also a theory that they can hear, but eh). Well, it's mostly limited to other plants, or certain parts of nature. Sometimes Britney wonders if she can communicate. With plants. Part of her wonders if she's crazy.

IN THE PRESENCE OF THE MOUNTAIN ⫻ Britney's abstraction grows a bit in power, and allows her to create plantlife in a ten meter radius, and create it much faster. She can potentially cause a tree to sprout near instantly if she wills it hard enough, and can create a wreath of vines near instantly. In addition, her plant empathy will expand to all plant life within Farmer Hill. Basically giving her unlimited sight. Her ability to telekinetically manipulate plants expands to twenty meters, and she can lift a hundred pounds.

AURA SENSING ⫻ Her aura-sensing is connected to her mental connection to plant-life. By kneeling down, placing her hand down, and concentrating, she can scry through plants in a way. She can sense the auras of those standing in/touching plant life anywhere within her forty meter range. However, it depends on how dense the plant life in the area is. If the person is only touching a plant, she can vaguely sense them, but if they're standing in the middle of a forest, she'll be able to see them clearly. She can only focus on one location at a time, and a very small radius. The moment she stops focusing, however, she'll lose the ability to see their auras.

LIMITS ⫻ Britney can only create plantlife in a very limited range, and even in the presence of the mountain, it isn't exactly far. Britney's plant manipulation, whilst it doesn't need soil to enhance or grow plant life, she has a far easier time if it's there. It takes far more time and energy to create plant life on non-soils, and the plant life will die very quickly. In order to control plants, Britney needs to be connected to the earth in a way. The closer she is to soil, the stronger her ability to control plants gets. So, if she's on the second floor of a building, it'd be harder to use her power than if she was on the ground-level.

WEAKNESSES ⫻ Britney's plants are as vulnerable as any other plants. They can easily be killed by fire/heat, ice/cold, poison, and they also still require water and other means to stay alive. Britney cannot create plant life from nothing - even if it seems like she does. She donates a bit of her lifeforce in order to create her plants. As she uses her power, she runs a little low on lifeforce and becomes physically weaker as she uses her abstraction. She can possibly kill herself if she uses her power too much.

Justin has a cool, confident, presence around him. Despite not being the most intimidating person around, Justin still has the look of a warrior in his eyes. Being raised in such a family tends to do that for you. He stands a little taller than what you'd expect an Asian male to stand at almost five-ten. He would be shorter, but his maternal family is tall (Like freakishly, his late grandmother was six-two). That makes Justin stand out compared to other asian males. Though, he doesn't exactly have a super high body mass, at least compared to westerners. He carries himself with an assload of confidence. Keeping his hands in his pockets as he takes large steps. Usually being the loud, life of the party. Though, he doesn't speak with an Asian accent, since he's essentially American by all definitions except ethnicity. Only accent he has is a "big-city" accent riff with slang, and attitude. You can say that Justin is very energetic, however.

Justin is pretty thin, thanks to a lightning fast metabolism, and the fact that he does a bit of work. His mother didn't want a lazy slob of a son that sits around playing videogames, so she made sure that Justin went outside. Justin does martial arts, but he did more skating than anything. He has a bit of a muscle-layer developing because he's been working on getting rather buff. His legs are very strong from running, but his arms are getting there. He's also been working on some abs. Though, he's still fairly lanky, and the only way to notice his muscle definition is for him to get naked (or close to it).

His skin tone is an off-white color with golden overtones. Justin is a mixture of Chinese (maternally), and Taiwanese (Paternally). He takes a lot more after his father than his mother, but he still has a little bit of his mother in him. With a strong jaw, and a bulky chin, that seamlessly smooths the rest of his face. His lips are pointed, and a little thick, but are hardly disproportionate compared to his rather large nose. With a thick bridge, nostrils, and it is rounded at the tip. His eyes are slanted, and very pointed, but he always seems to give off an approachable, and adventurous look on his face.

MAIN GOAL ⫻ Justin's primary goal is figuring out the mystery behind his grandmother's strange murder. He put everything else on pause so he can figure out what happened to her, and bring who killed her to justice. Then, he wants to get his fucking master's degree.

PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Justin, primarily, lives under the mantra of nothing ventured, nothing gained. It was mainly taught to him by his mother, and he believes that you can't ever accomplish anything without taking a risk or two. Whether it's taking risks with women or money - you can't ever expect anything out of life without putting something in. Secondarily, Justin learned from his grandmother that he can learn from other people more than anyone, and seeks to learn as much about other people as possible. Even from the people he dislikes. In addition, he believes the heart is stronger than the mind, so he's more inclined to listen to that than his heart.

SECRETS ⫻ Justin is secretly questioning his sexual orientation; he feels a growing attraction to men. He fears the backlash that he may receive from his family - especially with the death of his rather traditional grandmother still on their minds.

DESIRES ⫻ Justin wants to learn about other people, and himself, so he can be the best person he can possibly be.

QUIRKS ⫻ Justin's intelligence is often brought under question because he's, at times, very short sighted, and doesn't think things through. The problem roots in the fact that actions come better to Justin than thought, so he has a habit of jumping the gun. The other problem is that Justin is blunt about his feelings, and generally acts on them, even if they are bad ideas. So that goes without saying.

BACKSTORY

"My dark and tragic past... Aye... it's actually kind of tragic if you think about it."

To make a long story short: Justin's mother, Meifeng Zhao, and his aunt, Lijuan, moved to America from China because of her mother's (Lihua Zhao) dissatisfaction with China. They moved to a Californian metropolis known as Los Angeles, where they had a variety of different adventures. Meifeng grew up into a strong confident woman who went into college for a master's degree in criminal justice where she met her future sweetheart Pai-Han Liao. After a few years of romancing each other, they got married, and Meifeng became pregnant with twins. Justin and Katelyn Liao, two siblings that would pave the way for the bloodline's future.

Justin's early life didn't have much of note, Meifeng was at home raising them while his father was making the money for them to live comfortably. This built up a deep innate connection between the twins and their mother, whom imparted many of her ideals and philosophy upon the twins - though she was unhappy with staying home by herself. Their grandmother, Lihua, stepped in and offered to take some of the workload off Meifeng so she could pursue a career in the CIA. Their dual earner family is what really earned them a lot of money, and in turn, helped them live comfortably in Los Angeles.

Though the absence of his mother didn't impact him that much, what did was his first bullies at a young age. Just a group of young thugs that thought it'd be funny to pick on Justin. It started out light, then it got more intense as Justin let it continue. Eventually, it got violent, and Justin came home bruised and battered, as the teachers didn't seem to care. Well, Meifeng caught wind of it, and was having none of it. She decided to sign Justin (and Katie, for good measure) up for martial arts lessons - specifically Muai Thai. After a few months, Justin felt a lot more confident in himself, and stood up to the bullies. It ended with some broken noses and teeth.

From there, Justin's confidence helped him make a scene for himself, and find people like him. He made a friend or two in the skater scene, and after a lot of fumbling, and falling on his ass, became a confident skateboarder (The coordination training from Muai Thai helped). Falling into the skating scene meant he fell into the punk crowd. The kind of kids that liked to smoke (both tobacco and weed). It lead him to becoming, in his own words, "an impetuous shithead." His behavior took a nosedive as he also became wild and disrespectful. Which wasn't going to fly in the Liao household. Meifeng took all sorts of measures to discipline Justin, but nothing short of drastic measures did anything to curb this ill behavior.

After getting though school and graduation through sheer dumb luck, Justin didn't have any real commitments, so Meifeng sent him to stay with his Grandmother in Farmer Hill. A little shithole of a town in the middle of nowhere... perfect for somebody who doesn't like to be bothered. Of course Lihua appreciated Justin's company...
while Justin hated the town. He hated everything about it. From it's location, to the people in it. He wanted to get the hell out of there, but Meifeng didn't want to send him home until he learned how to act. Lihua made sure to discipline the child, and give him a bit more perspective on life.

It took him awhile, but Justin adjusted to life in this backwater shithole of a town, and was humbled over time (after many ass whoopings). Eventually, he came to like it over time, after making a few friends in the town, he decided to change. To try to become the best person he can be, because life's short. He decided to try to attend college, and get started on his education. His first attempt was to get into a college in Los Angeles failed horribly, and his mother got him into Grand Ridge. He was salty as any human being could be, but accepted that this town would never let him go no matter how hard he tried.

He aimed towards a master's degree in psychology, because of his interest in how the human mind worked (and because he wanted to have something to brag about). He bounced back and fourth between school, hanging out with friends and his grandmother's house... until one day he came home from class, and saw a bunch of police outside his grandmother's house... carrying out a body in a black bag. Justin was immediately filled with dread, and he asked a cop what had happened, only for his suspicions to be confirmed: Lihua was dead. They said that somebody had broken in and killed her, but stole absolutely nothing. They said that they had no idea what could have happened to her, and absolutely no leads. Which was, from the way Justin interpreted it, their way of saying they were completely useless. The Liao family was devastated by Lihua's death, and they all had no idea how to cope with it.

But, Justin wouldn't let it go. Even as the months passed, and he ended up getting a dorm in Grand Ridge, the haunted sight of what happened to his grandmother made it hard to focus. He felt that this was his higher calling in life: figuring out the mystery of his grandmother.

Because if the stupid cops won't do it; he will.

SKILLS & TALENTS

Muai Thai ⫻ Justin took some Muai Thai courses when he was younger to help him defend himself from a group of bullies. He'd say that the training paid off because he's a competent fighter, able to use all of his skills to take down even the toughest of opponents. But, he's out of practice due to one; not training or even practicing, and two; not really fighting.

Skateboarding ⫻ One thing that Justin excelled at was skateboarding. Learning from a friend, he became an expert in it, and could pull off some sick tricks. His balance and precision is also pretty good because of it.

Chinese ⫻ Because Justin grew up in a primarily Chinese household, he learned how to speak the language - though it comes second to him.

ABSTRACTION

SIGIL & LOCATION ⫻ On his back, over his right shoulder, is the symbol of a being with a phoenix as the top half, and a tiger as the bottom.

ABSTRACTION ⫻ Soul-Self, a flaming manifestation of all of Justin's passion that he can control.

ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Justin has an abstraction that has a basis similar to Astral-Projection, he can create a flaming being known as the Soul-Self. It is a physical manifestation of all of his emotions, taking the shape of either a Burning Tiger, or a Phoenix - except, located in their chest area is a heart of fire. The Phoenix has a right foot wing-span, and is five feet tall, and is capable of flight. The Tiger is around the size and shape of a South Chinese Tiger (four and a half feet at the shoulder, and eight feet long from head to tail), but is burning far hotter and more intensely. There doesn't seem to be a deciding factor as to which one manifests, it's completely random. Both of these beings are burning with intense flames, and possess rudimentary pyrokinetic abilities (are capable of creating flames), and is capable of interacting with the world via a weak=telekinetic ability, but Justin does not control them directly.

It is true that there possesses a link between himself, and his Soul-Self, he just he lacks control over it. It manifests on it's own, and possesses no mind - it fulfills what Justin's heart desires the most at the moment. If Justin wants to protect somebody, it'll manifest and rush right in between them and a threat. If Justin is feeling really angry, it'll manifest and destroy what is making Justin angry. Not worrying about the collateral damage that takes place between itself, and the objective. The Soul-Self is a very dangerous being, given that it's hot enough to set a forest aflame just by manifesting - not only that, but it's mere presence "enhances" flames, and makes them larger and more intense by it's mere presence. When the Soul-Self is active, Justin himself is disconnected from his emotions. He doesn't use his heart, but is instead a cold and logical machine. This is because the Soul-Self is Justin's emotions in a physical form. Justin is immune to flames created by the Soul-Self, and has access to the ability to create flames himself - very small, weak, flames, but he can still give somebody a good burn. He's also connected to fire itself. Depending on how he feels, he can cause flames to flare up, burn brighter (or weaker), and flames will go out if he is injured or knocked out. The Blind cannot perceive the Soul-Self, only the effects it has on the world.

IN THE PRESENCE OF THE MOUNTAIN ⫻ The Soul-Self gets far more powerful in the mountain's grace - it's form is twice as large, it's flames are hotter, and it can go further away from Justin. When the Soul-Self is manifested here, Justin doesn't lose access to all of his emotions as it also burns some of his logical side just to compensate. It turns a blue color to represent the new source of fuel.

AURA SENSING ⫻ Justin just see the "fire" that resides within a person with a bit of focus. In this case, this means their emotions. He can see how emotional a person is, and when their emotions flare up with passion, so do the flames. If he reads carefully, he can detect what kind of emotions somebody is feeling.

LIMITS ⫻ Justin, as it stands, cannot control the Soul-Self. It follows whatever innate desire or impulse that Justin is feeling at the moment, which means that he cannot summon it at will when his mind needs it. Only when his heart needs it. This also means it's extremely destructive, and causes immense collateral damage. The only way he can conquer and eventually control the Soul-Self is to face the emotions that he keeps locked up. He also possesses no way to control fire except when he's near the mountain. In fact, his presence makes fire more dangerous. The Soul-Self, when active, is only able to travel within six or so meters from him (nine in the presence of the mountain).

WEAKNESSES ⫻ The Soul-Self is affected by anything that would affect regular flames. Water can extinguish them, they can be suffocated, or extinguished by sand and dirt. If the Soul-Self was to be destroyed, Justin would be knocked unconscious for a few hours. In addition, if he's knocked out, any flames - whether or not it's created by him, would immediately be extinguished in a fifteen meter radius. Justin's Soul self is also very dangerous as it burns up a ton of oxygen, and he's not immune to any flames indirectly created by it. It also cannot be controlled, and possesses as of a danger to himself as anyone else.

Description:
A relatively known person in Farmer Hill because of how active he is in the community. An older man with slick red hair and a bushy beard, usually dresses practically and is in great shape despite his age. John Reid was a farmer since the very day he was born, and he'll die that way he says - but he also says that he'll die happy. Farmer Hill is a community that he grew up in, and wants it to be the best it could be, which was why he was always helping people try to build a better community for everyone there. Which is difficult because most are stagnant, and wish to keep it that way. He has a daughter, and a young son, after the strange disappearance of his wife. Though, there are many rumors about John Reid and the secrets he held... He was found dead after massacre in the camp, murdered by a blade laced with an allergen.

Description:
Sharon is the sole daughter of John Reid, and the last family member they had left after her mother inexplicably disappeared. She's thin, but a little curvy, and has earned the attention of a few boys due to her looks. Sharon isn't exactly all that well-known, or liked. She's relatively reclusive, and has a rather nasty reputation for strange, and rather upsetting mood swings. She's known for blowing her gaset at even the slightest upsetting thing, and thus, doesn't have too many friends. However, despite this, she's still a very caring and compassionate person, that wants the best for everyone. Though, she possesses a variety of secrets of her own.

She looks punk or alternative with her head of long flowing black hair that has strands of a cyan color, and her pale white skin that contrast pretty well against each other. He's a fairly tall man at six-four, and is in pretty good shape for his age. Though, he looks a bit older due to stress - his hair is already greying! Everyone in Farmer Hill knows about him due to his presence in the town, and he's almost never seen out of uniform unless he's at home. He's a stern man, one that's strict on the people of Farmer Hill. As to him, it's the only way to keep them in line. He's a single father after the death of his wife of their only son, and he lives in Mason Square on what's left of his father's ranch.

An 5'11 african american of heavyset build, wearing a close-cropped beard and his hair equally short. Quentin spent his younger years as an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, until at his wife's request, he moved with her from the buzzing environment of the city to a new, calmer (and better paying) life in Farmer's Hill, taking up a new position with the local Sheriff's Department to fill the void left behind from his beat cop days. He's a man hardened both by personal and professional experiences in the past, but it's typically kept hidden behind a friendly, relaxed demeanour - though one can tell from a glance that he's dedicated to his work to a fault, much to his wife's chagrin.

The spoiled, and entitled son of Sheriff Reese. After the death of his mother, Stephen showered him with everything he wanted just to keep him close. Which turned him into a spoiled brat that expected the people of Farmer Hill to do the same. And when he got out of line, Scott was barely punished. Which turned him into the bane of the township. However, at the camp, Scott was possessed by some kind of being and forced to go on a rampage. Which transformed a scrawny five-nine teen into a seven and a half foot tall, grey-skinned, mountain of muscle with bulging black veins and glowing red eyes. His goal seems to be killing certain people in Farmer Hill...

Extra-Normal Ability:
Scott's strength quadrupled when his muscles inflated, and he has thus become a mountain of strength. This possession has also granted him supernaturally dense cells, and that simulates durability as few things could injure him. In addition... he seems to possess an extra sense of sorts.

The Hound

Description:
The Hound takes the appearance of a massive, wolf-like, being that is made out of a black smoke. He has bright, shining, red eyes, and is always accompanied by a black fog. It's hard to say what size he is because he's always constantly changing size. It's unknown what he is, or what he wants, but he seems to visit those in dreams, warning them that he's going to come after them if they don't come willing. Naming himself an agent of death, he comes after those who he says "cheated death," and promises to set things right. He doesn't seem to exist outside dreams, but there are stories of those going into the woods and seeing a giant wolf. A wolf that leads them to a dead body... or some interpret it as a portent of death.

Extra-Normal Ability:
Unknown, he may not even exist outside of dreams.

"God-Child"

Description:
The "God-Child" as named by Nathan Ward is a strange being that visited the Awakened in a vision. They have a Godly appearance, being made out of a bright white light, and having the general shape and appearance of a child female. Being around four feet with a massive glowing ponytail, and round, youthful features. The being visited them, with a grim warning of what to come, but didn't reveal too much about themselves or the situation. They seem to be helping the group against a larger threat out there.

Extra-Normal Ability:
The being was able to force everyone into a vision of a possible future of Farmer Hill. Other than that, the exacts of their power is unknown.
