Current Noble Arms is now either four years old, or three years and eleven months. The third thread had lasted for more than one year.

My Roleplay, Noble Arms: The ASEAN War, will reach its 4th year in June or July. It's been a long journey.

Despite its massive flaws, my RP, Noble Arms: The ASEAN War, is still one of the longest ongoing RPs in RPGuild - It turns 4 years old in July and the current thread itself is more than a year old.

@Avemelle, hmm... It's still not what I expected, though, so I think I'll sit this one out.
@Avemelle, Oh, it's a 'reincarnation' Isekai, not a 'transported to another world' one.
@Avemelle, I might be interested.
Flame Brooks and Ashton Andrews

Flame was doing his errand by the metaphorical book, buying food and giving generous tips to the Demi-Human vendors. It was then that he'd come across a surprising sight; a young man in a black-and-white costume who carried two blades on his belt. He had the same build as Ashton, carried himself in much the same way, but somehow... Flame did not recognize him as Ashton until the latter passed him by and whispered, "I haven't seen you this happy since Bangor, Flame."

A brief freeze, before the young man whispered back, "Let's talk later; I missed you." Then he gave the current merchant he was buying food from an extra-large tip, in order to distract her from the suspicious encounter.

After that, Flame walked to a local eatery, one ran by a couple of ocelot-people, subtly glancing at the 'strange man' to follow him. He chose said eatery because if asked, he can 'sell' it to Gris Art Fortye as an extension of his mission to help the Demi populace. As expected, Ashton - Or the person implying he was Ashton - followed, though at a discreet distance. More proof that this was not some sort of trick.

------

A few kebabs and a generous tip later, and Flame and his boyfriend were talking once more, though not so loud that they can be overheard through the din of the eatery. And Flame, after hearing what had happened to Ashton during the time they were seperated, was his cynical self again.

"So, some old gladiator trainer wants you to get metals for a new and epic weapon. Do you think you can trust him?" the redhead was saying.

Ashton nodded, "Yeah; he seems 'pure', despite being part of the criminal underground. But we need to be careful; quite frankly, I am more concerned about two things: One, Chieko and Aerith - It was implied she was saved by those 'Witches' - might be our enemies now; Archibald could probably be our one last Isekai-er ally. And this city... The so-called High Council are planning something that I know will lead to large-scale destruction, and Fritzi has some sort of connection to them."

A frown from the now-ivory-haired boy. "I have the seeds of a plan to defend the city; but I don't want to flub up again, so I need a keen eye, not just a yes-man. So Flame, I need to ask a few questions."

He then paused for effect, then said, "How much does this Gris Art Fortye trust you? And how much contact do you keep with Alistair and Mono? And while we're at it, have you kept contact with Doctor Donovan, even tentatively?"

Flame pursed his lips. "I think that you're heading into dangerous territory, and that we'll be putting ourselves in danger should I answer those questions. So tell me first - What are the goals of this plan?"

The answer was vague, and used cultural references that only Ashton and Flame or another Isekai-er can understand, "We've played Mass Effect, right? The first one? Let's just say that we're playing the Paragon Path..."

So unifying at least two of the major factions against a third. Flame got the reference, But that requires the third being vile enough for the first two to put aside their differences, and a Demi-Human Liberation Front might or might not be enough be that third. Ideally, we'd try and lure in the Witch Cult they keep talking about, but aside from potentially killing someone by telling them of the Isekai, we don't know how to do it; we just have vague knowledge that they're planning something.

But Flame didn't voice his thoughts; Ashton knew those anyway. So he whispered, "You do know you're charged with murder, right? So the circumstances have to appear dire enough that your 'crime' would be overlooked. Otherwise, there won't be an alliance."
William Ascot

William blinked and thought, It worked? It worked!

As he took the lollipop - Assuming he had been freed from the roots and the soil - William thought, So, detention; it's probably going to involve mucking out some stables, cleaning out gutters, and other foul-smelling activities. But I might get free non-diabetes-inducing candy from it, plus a chance to get to know La'Tavia better - A Fire Mage is always a nice asset to have - and perhaps get to know the parts of the school others don't like thinking about.

So... There's a positive spin to put on things, a positive spin grounded in fact. After all, there's no shame in choosing to focus on the positive.

He bowed a little to Polyanna, and said, "Thank you for the fair treatment, Ms. Saccharine. That said, if I may ask, would getting a detention impact my access to the Research Building, as well as my chance to get an examination for mastership in the near-future? Please forgive me for being so eager to ask such questions so shortly after being punished."

A shudder of self-loathing; why did he ask those? Did he really want to sound like someone primarily concerned with his own advancement? Did he really want to be someone who wanted to be a Master and a Hero and puff up his ego because of it?

He sighed, of course he was. William Ascot had always been an egotistic little shithead and the only thing his family had been wrong about him was assuming that he was unaware that was the case. Because he was fully aware; not like Zane and his insanity. William was fully aware that he was a hypocrite who fit his own definition of 'evil'. It was just that he was too lazy to fix it, intellectually and morally.

The boy froze, almost saying that Ms. Saccharine should forget what he said, but that'd sound too much like reverse psychology. So he won't do it; like it or not, William knew he wasn't a true hero - He didn't know what heroism even meant.

He finally took Polyanna's lollipop into his mouth; it tasted bittersweet.

Palace of the Blachrenae, Renovation

"Well," said Tocsax to Georgia, "The Twelve can revive themselves as long as Leo - Master Leo - is alive and the X-Blade uncompleted; Ascot's rebirth is one of the conditions to end them."

Then to Hirutila, "You have a Keyblade; a weapon that can permanently destroy a Heartless. Keyblades are manifested only by people with strong hearts, therefore you have a strong heart. And tell me, knowing what you know now, will you really leave the salvation of the Multiverse to someone else? Will you really risk the survival of your world and those living in it on the chance that people you don't know will succeed?"

Emperor Michael XIII then interrupted, "Either way, you people have full liberty of the Palace except for my private chambers and the imperial armory. The Palace's Gardens and the Imperial Library, as well as various dining rooms, are the parts most open to you; just don't bother the workers. You can also access the training rooms or even Damianos' magical chambers."

"Hey!" Damianos himself shouted, "That contains a lot of dangerous stuff!" A pause. "But all right, if those are your orders."

The Emperor then said, "Keys to one of the Imperial guest suites will be granted later this afternoon, should you choose to stay."

Empress Maria then interrupted, "And if you do choose to stay, I recommend that you study the Original Timeline; Damianos will help you in said studies."

Damianos was visibly frowning.

Name:

Akatsuki Ascot

Apperance:

Age:

26 but looks 20.

Grade:

N/A

Biography:

Akatsuki was born to a branch of the Ascot Family that had gone to Yekaterina in order to record its history without changing it, having decided to maintain the original objectives of their mission from the God of Stories. But in a country such as Yekaterina, this was enough to be considered treason if this was found out. And in the reign of Tsar Boris VIII, this was found out and the Ascots of that country, including Akatasuki's then-pregnant mother, were shipped off into a Gulag. And thus, Akatsuki's birth occured in... Less than pleasant circumstances.

Growing up in a Gulag was tough, with the other prisoners having to give up food and water so one can live past the first few years of childhood. No relief came when one was old enough to work, as it also meant that one was old enough to be punished and abused for any reason at all, real or perceived. One exception was when, during the short breaks the prisoners were allowed, his parents told him about the history of their family and the stories they were meant to record and protect. Not merely that, but his powers were also useful for the grueling work the Gulag laborers were used to, so he was allowed to learn how to use them, but not to the point where he can out-skill his jailors.

His childhood and adolescence also coinicded with the war Yekaterina was waging against its neighbors at that time, and that war's end was what saved Akatsuki and his family from a life of servitude; when Boris VIII lost his throne, one of the terms for allowing his nephew Viktor to succeed him was the freedom of most (but not all) prisoners from the Gulags. At last, Akatsuki knew freedom, and he and his family knew better than to spend it in Yekaterina. But as the young man entered the truck taking him and his parents away from the vile place, all he can feel was sadness about the friends he left behind and their families.

Rhea was a new world for him, and his relatives in that city were like a breath of fresh air. Cyrus and Gilgamesha were kind people, while their son Alexander, a few years his junior, was a bit zealous but kind. But when he looked at the youngest member of the Rhean Ascots, William, a shadow fell across his mind. Trouble was waiting and the young man with his insistence on changing the current stories of Rhea to be less tragic was at the heart of it. In fact, the reason for the schism, the need to record the ongoing stories of the world versus the need to change them, still stood and that was tragic. Akatasuki listened to his parents, then Cyrus and Alexander (Gilgamesha remained neutral), before deciding on what he wanted to do.

And that was to act as damage control should either side of the family make damaging decisions. Taking a job as an analyst in the Rhean Military's Intelligence Department, Akatsuki saved up the money that he made, took the time to form contacts, and honed the powers he had; all for the time when the Ascot Family has to fight for its existence once more.

Powers:

Core Power - The Story of The Raven: Akatsuki can transform into a flock of 26 Spirit Ravens (the number is equivalent to his age); these Spirit Ravens can fly, see through magical illusions or concealment, talk in human speech and language, and transport themselves to other realms, such as the Ancient Evil's Hells, The Void (where they are able to survive its energy, but not use it), or Limbo. Note that said ravens are only as resilient as normal birds, can be killed with mundane or magical force, and should all of them die, Akatsuki dies as well.

That said, any of his Ravens can transform back to him; the rest vanish should he do so.

First Power - Wings of the Storm Raven: Two black wings extend from Akatsuki's back, which not only allow him to fly in the air - Work on this Character Sheet has been cancelled.

Relationships:

Rivals and nemeses, reputations preceding, perhaps even some special feelings for a special person. This section is optional, but it's nice.
@Letter Bee I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to drop out of the RPG. Somethings come up and will be taking a lot of my time and it's not fair to you and everyone else in the RPG to not only wait for me to post but to have a post that doesn't have my full attention in it. I'm really sorry about this

It's okay; sad to see you go, and be well.
