Current Two days ago, Noble Arms is indisputably four years old, spread out across three threads, and the third thread is still ongoing and about to reach the endgame...

Noble Arms is now either four years old, or three years and eleven months. The third thread had lasted for more than one year.

Eh, if it's important to you to use them, I can allow it.

Perfect. I'll start work within 48 hours.

In a previous RP I ran, I put a soft limit on anime stuff, so that the game wouldn't start to feel too much like an anime RP. I still have that sentiment, but I don't mind one or two characters with anime-adjacent pics.

<Snipped quote by Letter Bee>

I mean, you just listed four really good ideas. They all appeal to me; but if I had to pick one, I like the ex-urchin or the mage-knight the most.

Your Mage-Knight works well because a lot of people probably do join the Caravan to escape past trauma. And, honestly? I have a soft spot for both knights and for magic-warrior fusions. This one legitimately feels like a character I would want to play.

But the Urchin would bring an interesting new element to this RP, in that they want to become a Merchant Prince. I mentioned in the first post that the Caravan engages in a lot of trading, so having an ambitious merchant character feels like a good fit. Every city we go to, I can imagine them trying to establish connections and scoping out the markets.

Either of them, I'd say, could work really well here.

Are these pictures 'Too Anime', then? Ignore the modern clothing on the second one.

And yes, I'll resize the pictures later.
@SkyHresvelg@The World@Chiro@Aisede@MagusDream@Lewascan2@Sniblet@Conscripts@Gerlando@Senhara@Creative Chaos@Nimbus@SirStriker@The Man Emperor@KaiserElectric:

After talking with my Co-GMs, we've decided that this RP is now full and that we will only accept new players when the number of OCs massively declines.
@Tortoise, Are Anime Faceclaims permitted? I think we have at least one or two OCs with an Anime-adjacent picture.

Also, what would be more appealing to you? A Mage-Knight seeking adventure yet trying to flee past trauma, an Ex-Street Urchin with goals to become a Merchant Prince, an exiled Prince (the royalty kind) who wants to take back his dead father's throne, or a political reformer who wants more power to the cities and merchants in order to upend the feudal system?
Question; are multiple OCs allowed?

If not, I'll settle on just one of my many ideas.

@Tortoise, does this RP have a Discord Server?
Name: Natasha Zhang

Age: 34, but looks 25

Physical Description:

Art originally of Melissa Mao from Full Metal Panic.

Important items:

Vacuum Suit - A spacesuit that allows her to survive in space for prolonged periods of time, and which acts as body armor in a pinch.

Monomolecular Longsword - A blade sharpened to a molecule-thin edge and can chop through most materials; contained in a special sheath that can withstand said molecule-edge.

Coilgun Pistols - Two Coilgun Pistols.

Omni-Tool - Miniature Computer that allows for communication, calculation, augmented reality navigation and small-scale hacking.

Galactic Credits - 100,000 Galactic Credits in both digital and material form.

Short Bio: Natasha Zhang was born in the frontier world of Qingdao, on the edge of Ascendancy space. Qingdao was a rustic world, mostly dedicated to farming, mining, and providing raw materials to the Ascendancy Core Worlds, who provided protection in the form of naval forces. As is usually the case in these kinds of stories, Natasha soon grew tired of the podunk homeworld she was stuck in and dreamt of greater things, to be a captain of one of the starships she saw on the HyperNet. And so, once she grew old enough, she went off to join the nearest Recruitment Office to join the Ascendancy forces in their escalating hostilities against other species.

Starting as a midshipman abroad a Corvette, Natasha soon encountered the glass ceiling that prevented those from the frontier colonies from ascending to high rank in the Ascendancy Fleet, as well as the favoritism shown to those from the Core. Nevertheless, out of stubbornness, she ignored it, and even hoped for a war against the Rau've in order to give her opportunities to prove herself. Piloting a starship was her dream, and she wasn't going to let go of that just because of some opposition. And so she waited for war, and when it came, the rapid series of battles against the Rau've and Kaisoken gave her multiple avenues for promotion.

Finding herself in command of the Corvette she served in, then a Frigate and a Cruiser, Natasha's rise then stopped due to the Battle of Proxima, where she lost several of her crew to a Rau've broadside when the Grand Admiral in charge of the Ascendancy Fleet used her ship and several others held by 'frontier-born' officers as bait to draw a Coalition squadron into a space minefield. This drew her ire, especially as in the aftermath of the battle, she and the other 'frontier-born' were blamed for the battle's loss and dishonorably discharged. Shocked by such ingratitude, Natasha went back to her homeworld for a while to take up farming but grew bored again.

This is why the secret message from Moonstrike, sent through the dark web, was music to her ears. The resistance group, tired of the Ascendancy's lies, propaganda, and totalitarian tactics were gathering people for a guerrilla campaign against the Ascendancy. And yes, they can provide the ex-captain her own ship: It would merely be a light freighter, but it would be enough for her; at last, she can soar through the stars again.

She remembered smiling as she pondered her vengeance against the Ascendancy; it will come swiftly.

Personality-wise, Natasha is a hard-drinking woman who loves loud music and surprisingly, history (mostly of the military type). She loves tales of old battles but has branched out to hearing about economic and social causes of warfare; she also loves a good tale of poisoning, assassination, and deliberately engineered 'accidents'. She is also a gun and sword enthusiast (unsurprisingly), but ships and navigation are her true love.

Character Traits

Ship Captain - Despite everything, Natasha knows a lot about piloting a ship, and is proficient in navigation and astrography, while also knowing her vessel and its systems like the back of her hand.

Frontier-born-and-bred - Natasha is also a rough-and-tumble person who knows how to pilot and drive atmospheric and ground vehicles, can hold her own in a fight with guns and swords, and physically strong with great bodily resilience.

Smuggler and Trader - Even before joining Moonstrike, even before her military career, Natasha knew the ins and outs of trade and barter from her farm girl upbringing. Same for her involvement with the black market, which provided some necessities to her homeworld due to the Ascendancy's neglect. And now that she is part of a rebel group that also engages in smuggling, her nascent skills in commerce, legal and illegal, can now be trained to blossom...
I will have the obelisks to decorate Paris with

Sure. How much timber is that worth?
Name: Flame Brooks

Age: 16

Physical Description:

Artwork Originally of Lark Meadows from Moonlight Apparition, a webcomic made by one Darkhalo4321; all credit given to her.

Important items:

Perfected Electrum Bow - A magical weapon that boosts the strength and range of Flame's 'energy' spells, allowing them to burn through meta-materials and flesh alike.

Ballistics Vest - An undershirt of soft but tough materials surrounding a core of armored dura-ceramic plates that can withstand a few pistol shots.

Galactic Credits - A few thousand credits in digital form given by the former Rau've warden.

Omni-Tool - Miniature Computer that allows for communication, calculation, augmented reality navigation and small-scale hacking.

Med-kit - A futiuristic first aid kit which contains healing nanomachines and biological gel. Can heal burns from High Magic within reason.

Flame Inventory Upgrades:

- 1 Steelweave under-suit with trauma plates underneath.
- 1 Earmuffs.
- 2x Inciendary Grenades
- 2x Frag Grenades
- 2x EMP Grenades

Short Bio: Flame Brooks was born to a drunkard father whose mother ran out on the family. Needless to say, this did not result in a happy upbringing, even with Flame's high intelligence and physicality allowing him to be fast-tracked in education. By some miracle, the authorities only took Flame once he was thirteen, and even then it wasn't social services who came for him, but rather the miitary, whom Flame's father sold his own son to in exchange for more drinking money.

What followed was hell, hell that could have turned him into a sociopath or psychopath willing to inflict cruelty and pain on others just to gain respite from his own suffering, if not for Ashton reaching out for him in one of the few periods of free time they were allowed to have. Friendship followed, and in the adrenaline-charged haze of the war, so much more. Flame found someone to love, someone who loved him, and he was able to endure the perils of war and the traumas placed on him and Ashton by their 'owners' in the military because of this. And so in what moments of spare time he had, he plotted revenge, revenge against the Ascendancy.

In the final decisive battle at Proxima, Flame fought hard against the Alien Coalition's forces, fearing death and other ordeals should they be captured by the enemy. But it was said enemy who spared them after capture, and said enemy who treated them as sapient beings once more and not property. And thus, he had time to think about the revenge he planned on the Ascendancy. However, if Ashton had chosen the Rau've offer of a new home, he'd have accepted - Ashton's happiness was important to him, after all.

Thankfully, his boyfriend had a similar need, a need for closure, and so they decided to courteously decline the offer of a new and peaceful life. And so Flame made his final decision: To throw himself into a new conflict, this time, to make the Ascendancy - The enemy - pay for the treatment he and Ashton were put through!

Spell List:

Energy Bolt (World, tied to the Perfected Electrum Bow and unusable without it) - Bolts of pure light and heat that can inflict serious damage on the level of a powerful laser.

Shield of Force (World) - A barrier of energy that allows Flame to protect himself from harm.

Shattering Palm (World) - A close-range attack/strike which enables Flame to break solid objects through sheer kinetic force. Originally meant against Kaisoken, this move can break Power Armor and even Ascendancy ground vehicles as well.

Cone of Silence (World) - A cone of telekinetic force that prevents sound from escaping, thus providing a space for him and others to talk in without outside folk overhearing.

Power Electronic Equipment (World) - With just a touch, Flame can power electronic equipment using only his own magic, acting as battery and transformer, and extension cord.

Prenatural Calmness (Mind) - Flame can use Magic to keep his composure in circumstances that would shatter another person, allowing him to act calmly, though not necessarily rationally, in a terrifying situation.

Character Traits

Observer of Human Nature - Flame's abusive treatment by his father, then his superiors, as well as the kindness shown to him by Ashton and the other Star Marines, have given him some sense of Human actions and feelings, allowing him to keenly observe whether a person is being sincere and their motives if they are not. But these observations are not infallible, and Flame can be paranoid or self-deceiving at times...

Marksman and Sniper - Flame is good at hitting a specific spot on an enemy with almost any ranged weapon or his own magic.

Trained Endurance - Abuse can sometimes deaden one to pain and in the world of the Ascendancy Military, that is an asset. So Flame was subjected not just to harsh military training, but also forced to undergo 'torture resistance courses' which consisted of enduring pain for hours on end to improve his pain tolerance, although, at the same time, he was given the right diet and exercise to improve his physical health. This gave him the ability to, well, endure burdens that would bring down an adult.

Area Mastery: World - Flame knows World Magic through both Traditionalist and Inventor Mindsets and so needs very little Mana to cast very powerful Spells/Functions.
