@ERode

Yeah, I know. But Nick would want company or a favor under his belt when talking to a powerful being.
@Rune_Alchemist

I was writing my post but it seems I was too slow. It's fine though.
The Journey Begins

~ Unknown Village ~

They tucked in for the night, using the naked ground for a bed. Nick was not at all used to this kind of wilderness lifestyle but fortunately, he found a nice rock he could lean on somewhat comfortably. It was also fortunate that he was tired which made it easy for him to head onto to sleep. But before he dozed off, he spotted a star twinkling brightly over to the southern night sky past the mountains. It was a strange sight to be sure, but could it have meant something? It seemed no one else saw it and now that he thought about it, Nick's power concerned the stars, didn't it?

Nick made a note of it in his mind. He would definitely head south and find out if that star guided him to his goals. However, he had different plans for tomorrow. Now that he knew of the deer deity living in the woods around them.

---

The morning came and the party awoke. Nick got up later than the others and so had little to eat for breakfast, a single bite of meat. He watched the others gather snow to melt for a drink. Reluctantly, he did the same and did his best to ignore that they probably stepped on this snow a lot during the previous day.

It was about time to set off and Nick wanted to talk to the group about his decision but Donovan spoke first. He said that he would be heading north to a village for a favor to the deer god in the forest. But before parting, he proposed to 'purify' Octavia which Augusta had reservations about. Even Nick was hesitant on any cleansing on Octavia. Sure, she was an ugly demon dog but she wasn't all that bad.

After Donovan was shot down and began to walk north, Nick was the next to speak. "Guys, I also gotta go. Probably with Donovan." He told Isidore and Augusta. "I'm gonna come clean here, I'm looking for a way home. Back to Earth. I don't know about you two but I've got a life there, and I will return to it." He declared. "I'm gonna see if the deer god has any info about that. I'd wager a deity would know something."

"If this is goodbye, then it's been a pleasure. We may have not known each other long, but it was nice. And you too, ya little scallywag." Nick rubbed Octavia's head. "You guys take care, alright? Maybe we'll see each other again but until then, this is farewell."

With that, Nick would join Donovan.

---

"So yeah, I'm coming with 'cause I got some questions for your deer friend in the woods. Put in a good word for me when we meet him, will you?" Nick told Donovan as they trekked north along the beach. "Ugh, sand. They'recoarse, rough, irritating and gets everywhere."

They soon made it to a settlement. A small fishing village, evident by the small canoes and the hauls of fish being unloaded by them. A young girl emerged from the forest nearby but she did not notice the two arrivals and they did not have a chance to call out to her before she took off.

“Another one...hah... Been a lot of outsiders lately...maybe a sign from the Gods…?”

The idle comment from the man in furs was a revelation to Nick. "Huh. Looks like we're not the first ones here."

There was a woman in exotic clothing standing by the shore and watching the waves. Was that... was that a horn on her head? Okay, a non-human that's infinitely prettier than the non-humans back in the prison. Hopefully, also infinitely friendlier. There was also a large longhouse to the north, likely the residence of the village's mayor or leader.

"Well, we're here. Pretty little village. Wonder what it's called." Nick remarked before turning to Donovan. "What're we here for again?"

"Vară and Nagare seem nice. Were they in the Guild long before they left? Were you close?"
Vivian Altissima

Neil dutifully wheeled the Altissima sisters towards his surprise gift for them. "Hmm, I wouldn't say 'long' but they were with the Guild for several days before they had to leave for their personal matters." He answered immediately. "I... guess you could say we're close. Good friends and all." It seemed Neil decided not to reveal anything specific.

Soon, Riñas lead them into an empty space. The darkness of the night made it hard to see anything but with a snap of the Dark Priest's fingers and the place was lit up by several pyres. The area had two cooking stations, tables filled with kitchenware from pans to spatulas and various food ingredients from vegetables and herbs to condiments like salt and spices. The sight... looked very much like the cooking competition from earlier. Albeit smaller.

"You two, err... I guess Vivian, really wanted to join the cooking contest earlier but instead, you got stuck working with me." Neil said as he took his place on one of the cooking stations and putting on an apron. "So to show my gratitude, I asked Riñas to prepare another one of these. Thanks again, Sister Riñas."

"No problem, Neil. Sorry it's not as extravagant as the one from earlier but it was all last-minute, you know?" The Dark Priest replied. "You also mentioned that you wanted to ask me something regarding the Fallen God? Well, we can talk about later after you're done with this threesome. Farewell and have fun!" And with that, Riñas took off to handle the festival.

Neil sighed at the parting remarks. "Well then, you two. You may be professional chefs, but I'll have you know that I'm no slouch at this. En garde, Sylvia and Vivian!"

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Sir Reed-san. Though a dragon I may be, I’m not all that amazing I’m afraid! I hope that I don’t end up being too much of a burden on you.”
Nagare

Sir Reed chuckled. "Don't be so tense around me, Madam Nagare." It seemed he noticed the ice dragon's anxious feeling towards him. "I know I look like I'm ready to slay a dragon and save a princess but I guarantee you, I am not looking to spill any monster blood. Besides, who in their right mind would raise a blade against a beauty like you?"

Talia the Cyclops raised her single eyebrow. "Smitten with her, Sir Reed?"

"What? Can a man not compliment a lady without getting accused of courtship?" Reed retorted.

“The kidnapping sounded like a serious problem, I’m glad to hear you resolve it in the end! We’d love to hear it, right Vară?”
Nagare

"Regarding the kidnapping... It was quite a complex issue... I may not be the best to discuss these particular things but it had to do with unrequited love... From both parts, due to an Oath he took... As weird as it sounds."
Freyr

Haley shrugged. "Mmm, long story short: A dude here has a Kikimora pining for him. He kept turning her down until she chugged a Doppelganger potion so she have more bodies with which to kidnap him with. We put a stop to that but turns out, the dude is a former Order soldier with an oath that got betrayed by the Order itself. His feelings on that is driving him to want to die fighting against his betrayers."

"We talked some sense into him. Hopefully it sticks." Haley finished.

Noticing that Ditzy was tired, Talia felt the exhaustion of the day catch up to her. The excitement from seeing the fireworks had subsided and the Cyclops let out a little yawn. "Hey all, since the festival's mostly over, why don't we head on home? Me and Ditzy are worn out for the day."

"Yeah, I agree. We should probably say goodbye to the Dark Priest before we leave." Haley said. "Is everyone in agreement?"

After the talk with Ozzy, the Owl Harpy Margaret suddenly appeared and frantically looking for him. She explained that an arrangement she encountered was a great opportunity, both for her and the male Harpy Ozzy. She didn't go into specifics but it was something about meeting some high-rank monsters and this was a chance for them to witness the existence of male monsters.

The departure for the meeting was imminent and Ozzy accepted, saying farewell to Kira, Yang and Bart, lamenting he could not say goodbye to the others and leaving that to the Beelzebub and the monk. It was unknown when Ozzy would be back but for now and the immediate future, the Guild would be missing a member.

"I can't believe he left just like that." Bart said as he dined with the present guild members. "But it's like that, isn't it? I've heard from Neil that a lot of us just went up and left like that." Turning his gaze to Kira, he asked. "Say, you left for the Guild after the incident with the Kikimora, didn't you? Everything alright?"
Hey all! So the update will be delayed further since I'm out of quarantine and will need time to settle in my home in the Philippines.

The update will probably come at the weekends. Sorry about that again.
Since Shwig has departed, I'll need to rearrange my post and so the update will be delayed for a bit. Maybe a day or two.

Sorry for that but it'll at least give the others time to post.

Before Augusta replied to Nick, Isidore and Donovan returned emerged from the forest. Right where the stick landed, in fact, and hauling a dead boar with them as well as some tree logs. Nick was relieved, but not surprised. These kinds men were, after all, hard to take down. What was more surprising was when Donovan started slicing up the logs into firewood with just a rock and his boot. Whoa. Could all of them do that?

Isidore began cleaning their dinner while Donovan returned to the forest to collect more firewood for thr night. Nick wanted to offer to clean the boar but it seemed Isidore had taken care of that. In the meanwhile, the two brought news that the woods around them was owned by a deer. Presumably some sort of forest spirit that forbade the presence of Octavia. Nick could see why. There were also apparently humans to the south, beyond the mountains inhabited by 'Shadow-folk' and 'Mountain-folk'. Sounds like a lovely bunch of people.

Things were beginning to relax and there was time before the hog's parts, put on a rock as a makeshift grill, were ready to eat. Nick decided to take this time to relieve himself and leave Isidore and Augusta to make their conversation. He returned just in time to hear their plan of action.

“And our direction of travel tomorrow?”
Isidore

“You mentioned non-humans. I was thinking that maybe that might be our best course of action. Mostly because I’m curious about what is out here.”
Augusta?

Alright, then. Looks like they were heading south. It's gonna be a long trek, Nick didn't doubt. He sat beside Isidore and took a small portion of the hog parts for his meal. "Hey man, I heard you guys ran into a deer spirit in the forest. While I can see why it doesn't like Octavia on its turf, is there anything else it told you two besides the humans beyond the mountain?"

"You know, I'm surprised it let you keep the boar. Typically, these kinds of guardian spirits don't like outsiders hunting in their domains. But this ain't Earth so what do I know?"

After his questions were answered (or not), Nick would spend the rest of the day resting for the journey tomorrow.
Late post 'cause I couldn't find the words 'cause I'm a bad writer. Sorry about that.

"Sir Jarde, thank you!"
Fanilly Danbalion

"No problem, Captain. Happy to help."

Jarde's was, indeed, glad to help but his reply wasn't all there. His attention solely focused on the blob monstrosity before him. He had gotten its attention, now to keep it by not dying to its slimy tendrils too quickly or preferably, not dying at all. The slime monster raised several of its tentacles, about to bring them down to crush the Iron Rose. Fortunately, Jarde was way quicker and he found the movements to be quite predictable.

A simple roll sufficed to evade the crushing attack and he recovered fast enough to react to the follow-up. The monstrosity raised its tentacles from the broken floor for another shot at Jarde. But it never came, the tendrils did come down although not as a crushing blow but as a splash of slimy goo from the collapse of the blob monster. Jarde still evaded it, if only to keep himself clean. Alas, some of the slime splashed anyway unto him but other than that, he was unharmed. "Uggghhh..."

Well, it looked like the fight was over. At the very least, the one animating the monster was stopped. Jarde wiped the slime off of him as he joined the others, standing beside Tili and seeing the masked man on the ground with a crossbow bolt on one of his eyeholes and everyone having stopped fighting. "Nice shot." He complimented the Nem. "Is it over? Is your sister safe?"
