Mire was attacking while the building was collapsing. Creep had no reason to believe the people Mire was attacking weren’t Community. There was no real good choices here.
‘Get out of there!’ Creep shouted into the building, then grabbed Salem and pulled to get around the corner. After all, she had just revealed her location, she was still looking all over around just in case someone attacked her. She’d try to listen in on what happened, and a second later assuming they weren’t attacked she’d look over again to see what was happening.
Having the invisible girl be the leader had its disadvantages.

New Pokémon caught! Valen earned 2000 P!
Would you like to give a nickname to Snivy?
And so, at some point, Valen headed out from Pureplain City and headed for Route 1.
Route 1
Route 1 is a long, flat and grassy route where most trainers get their first taste of the world. From Pureplain you can see the hills of Highhill in the distance, from Highhill the scrapers of Pureplain looms in the distance, the start of the Silent Forest surrounding the Silent Shrine on the side. There is a larger road, a main road used for travelling in and out of Pureplain City, there are plenty of more mature travellers taking that road to get from point A to point B. But, young Pokémon Trainers usually much rather use the smaller path going out into the grassland. This is some remnants of the plain which Pureplain City was named after, although most of that plain is now swallowed up by buildings of people living around here. Small roads branch out, leading to different places where some individuals have made their houses.
There are many safe roads, yet take one step out of it and you’re immediately in tall grass, where you can already see many first-time Pokémon Trainers are challenging their first Pokémon. One could expect Pokémon Trainers to be searching for Pokémon either in the tall grass or the forest on the side, and also battling one another as they can. From the looks of it, there are plenty of young trainers sporting freshly caught Pidgeys and Rattatas. As one approaches Highhill Town, the forest becomes more plentiful, as beyond the town lies a forest.
Through the route also runs an indent, a drain surrounded by walls, seemingly made for the water to gather up inside it. It’s currently dry, whatever cause of that might be. Some trainers appear to be having fun battling inside it, and they’re running around challenging one another inside it. But, the drain also raised interesting questions about what kind of Pokémon or things one might find should one explore it further.
The most common here, as could be seen, are common Pidgey and Rattata, found pecking or scavenging among the grass.
Pokédex Entry #16 – Pidgey, the Tiny Bird Pokémon. They are docile Pokémon that avoid fighting, kicking up sand in an enemy’s face or using Whirlwind to avoid battles. They have sharp senses of direction, capable of finding their nest or destination from very large distances. They inhabit tall grass where they search and prey on small bugs.
Pokédex Entry #19 – Rattata, the Mouse Pokémon. It has impressive vitality that allows it to live anywhere there is food. It scavenges for food all day and reproduces quickly. Very cautious, it’s ears listen for trouble even when asleep. It’s teeth never stop growing, it will gnaw on things to keep their size in check.
Valen and his Pokémon ended up struggling with a bunch of Rattatas and Pidgeys. That is totally and completely fine, Snivy has a few levels to catch up on Qwerty. Now, the Ratattas here were a bit weak for Qwerty to efficiently train being on level 9, but Snivy got some experience for free.
Snivy grew to level 7! Snivy learned Vine Whip!
Took some damage, though. With that out of the way-
And that’s a random fireball that just flew straight past Valen and his Pokémon as they were training.
‘Rowl! Rowl! Grrrrr-!’ … And there’s an angry Growlithe that just shot the Ember at them, standing in a ready stance and glaring at them, breathing a bit of fire preparing to potentially battle.
Pokédex Entry #58 – Growlithe, the Puppy Pokémon. Known to be brave and loyal to it’s trainer, but will bark threateningly at anyone entering its territory. It has superb sense of smell and will never forget a smell once it has picked up on it. Through smell, it can sense the emotions of others.
It would appear they had somehow entered its territory. What would Valen do now?
Seabreeze went down to the pond to wash out the taste, then flew up to sit on his head again… THEN fell asleep, as that was the last recorded effect of the herbs. He’ll wake up with a few pats, though. The equivalent of a couple of turns, which goes fast with talking.
‘Flying, huh,’ Earl replied, looking about a bit. ‘Assuming you already got a Tropius, I think Cottonee’s the only flying thing about, though that one isn’t a Flying-type…’ He thought about it a little bit more, then shrugged. ‘Drifloons appear on Route 3, though.’
Vivia caught the wave, and forced a smile through the pain of her closed fist and waved a bit back with her other hand while Venonat caught Celebrity’s frown and glared right back. A jealous little Venonat here. So here we now had a purple ball and a pink ball in a staring contest.
‘So, yes,’ Earl smirked at the question. ‘I read about it in Rainrock City. Apparently, there’s this legend about a mythical Pokémon whose power can heal any form of wound or something… or it defends the weak and fights for righteousness. One of the two. Still, I’ve been searching around here for quite a while, and I’ve found nothing,’ he finished, crossing his arms and nodding to himself.
‘Might be time to look for a new forest and try out their herbs. I’ve got a ton of things I’d like to try out.’
‘Cl-cleeeff…’ Cleffa made a bit of a worried sound at Earl’s most recent remark, shying back a bit.
‘Budew!’ one of his Budews suddenly called out.
‘Hm? Can’t think of what else to try out?’ Earl looked back. He considered it for a bit, then shrugged.
‘Cleffa, cast Metronome on the brew!’
‘Cleffa!’ Cleffa replied, totally having learned the move as an Egg-move, apparently, and ran forth to wave its fingers at the brew…
Metronome became Bind! … Cleffa attempted to bind around the pot and promptly burned herself. ‘C-cleff!’
‘Again!’ Earl called.
Cleffa tried again! This time… Metronome became Bulk Up! … Cleffa boosted her own stats and became 1.5 times bigger with bigger muscles suddenly! ‘Cleffa!?’
That didn’t do it either, so once again, Cleffa tried Metronome! Metronome became...
Heat Wave
Cleffa blew out a powerful blast of exceedingly hot breath, blowing away and fainting multiple crying Budews and almost setting the room on fire. Some of the brew it was blasted on was shot out in multiple directions, but the rest of it was blasted to massive degrees before their eyes and melted all which had been thrown into it, leading that the potion had an even red coloration made in a mix of who knows what. Cleffa breathed out in relief, while Earl smirked and walked forward to scoop up some of the potion into a glass container. He turned and walked over to Skylar again.
Skylar was given the Heat Wave Potion!
‘Hm-hm-hm! I’m interested in what this’ll do. Try it out in battle sometime,’ Earl said, smiling slyly.
Ralia shot off a Confusion… which hit Bellawesome, but wasn’t enough to stop her. Bellawesome swooped forth with her blade at the ready, there was no way for Ralia to dodge the considerably faster Pokémon. The blade flew forth in an arc… and stopped right by her head.
Bellawesome smiled at the smaller Ralts, holding the blade at the ready. Telepathy told that the moment Ralia tried something, she would most certainly faint. Because Bellawesome was strong enough to faint Ralia in a single strike, at this rate.
‘Oh-hohohoho! Bellawesome, you know you’re making us more likely to lose like this?’ Archie called while laughing at the Pokémon’s actions.
‘Teh-heh… I understand. Hey, Claire!’ Archie called, while raising an empty hand which Ramsey promptly put something into. ‘Bellawesome is having fun. You’ve entertained her. She doesn’t want this battle to end. That’s why…’
Archie braced himself and threw whatever it was in his hand across the battlefield to Claire…
Claire was thrown a Revive!
‘You get one… more… try…’ Archie said, a little grin on his lips and waving a single finger as he said. ‘… And if your choice is a close-combat fighter, that’d make Bellawesome really happy~’
‘Belloss~!’ Bellawesome called happily.
‘Young master, I will remind you that you are a Gym Leader,’ Ramsey said. ‘You aren’t supposed to give challengers extra chances if they’ve proven themselves powerful enough to overcome you.’
‘What, I can’t…?’ Archie asked, turning wide-eyed to Ramsey. ‘But, but… Bellawesome is having so much fuuuuuun…’ Archie continued, his eyes growing wide, wet and totally puppy-eyed. Ramsey looked down at the young master with an unreadable expression, and then sighed.
‘Young master, you are the Gym Leader. You decide the rules. I am simply here to remind you,’ the butler told. Archie smiled widely.
‘Thank you, Ramsey! You’re the best~!’ he said, before turning to Claire.
‘Now, what’ll you do?’
Revive, of course, wouldn’t restore more than half health to a Pokémon… but Bellawesome had taken her fair share of hits as well already. What would Claire do?
The two followed Cofagrigus, who rounded a corner… and ran into a couple of Bronzors harassing another Pokémon. Cofagrigus, less than amused, sent forth an Ominous Wind that blasted the Bronzors aside. In their wake sat an unamused purple Pokémon, glaring back at them. This particular ghost did not seem like it was particularly having problems, but regardless Cofagrigus had just solved said problems. Now, they were face-to-face with a…
Pokédex Entry #94 – Gengar, the Shadow Pokémon. It likes to hide in the shadows of people and make them move on their own. It delights in curses and laughing at the people it frightens. When a Gengar hides, the temperature of the area decreases by ten degrees, so be careful if you feel a chill. It is said to emerge to steal the lives of those lost in the mountains.
The Cofagrigus and the Gengar exchanged glares, before they started shouting out at one another.
‘Cofagrigus…!’
‘Geng? Gengar, Gengar!’
‘Cofa, cofagrigus!’
‘Geeeeeeeeng-gengar!’
And since nobody understands this conversation, here’s a rough translation. It may or may not be entirely accurate.
‘’Sup, dawg! I’mma off to take my tomb back from thesa punk-ass invaders!’
‘Nigga you too much of a weak-ass bitch to beat those punk-asses!’
‘Ye, that’s why I’mma gonna need my bitch-ass homeboy to help me school these bitch posers!’
‘LMAO and why would I help you weak ass throw those punk-ass bitches out your tomb and then leave your ass with all the loot?’
‘I’d like ta see ya try an’ take it, you little ghost-ass bitch! … AFTER we beat those punk-ass bitches!’
‘YER ON, NIGGA!’
Basically, it boiled down to the two Pokémon shouting at one another before ending up in one another’s faces, two of Cofagrigus hands holding forcefully against Gengar’s two hands as if struggling for superiority while both were grinning widely.
Sounds could be heard from deeper into the tomb. The forces had started to move.
Creep frowned when she was told the Community was attacking everywhere. A joined attack on all teams? They were making their move? … Very well.
‘In that case. We Rockers may be able to retreat from our current predicament and help where we’re needed. Let me get back on you on that, after we’re done abandoning our HQ. I’ll call again, keep me posted if anyone so desires.’ That was all she had to say before she tried to call her allies. Out of those, only Salem replied. Nothing from Mire, could be she just wasn’t in a state to answer her phone, nor Pester, who should have been there, and Visage straight-up declined her. Though frowning, she could understand if she had gotten into a tough situation. That said, this meant only Salem would be arriving at Point B. That was useless.
In fact, here Salem came running. Good to know somebody was dependable around here.
Before Salem could enter the building, Creep showed herself to him alone and waved him over. Assuming he didn’t enter the building anyway, she’d start talking to him while they were in view of the HQ, except Creep was hiding them both.
‘The Community is attacking all our allies. This city is now a battlefield. Some parahuman archer is attacking within our HQ, probably with one more person. I’ve seen mostly everyone evacuate, but I haven’t seen Pester, and-’ and this is about the time Mire dropped down and started advancing at the main building. Creep made an unhappy noise looking at that, but okay, guess they were attacking.
‘- c’mon, we’re assisting Mire. I’ll cover the both of us, they won’t see us. Stay as close as you can. If you find the archer, melt his arrows,’ she told Salem, grabbing his arm and pulling on him as she headed forth towards the ensuing battle while doing her best to cover the both of them, running ahead to make that easier. She was startled seeing Mire being attacked by someone, she had to get in closer and see what was going on.
Of course, she was internally preparing for that their enemy could see her. Her eyes were looking in all directions, perfectly focused, and she was ready to jump to dodge at any time.
‘Cof…!’ Cofagrigus made a scoffing noise in reply to Amelia’s little speech to it. Two of its shadowy arms crossed and entwined underneath its face, looking down at her where he floated in mid-air. Still, anyway.
‘… Cofagrigus!’ it called, waving one of its other arms in a circle twice, on the point of that it’d already decided it was going to do something. With that, it started drifting towards the exit of the room.
That was some form of result. What would they do now?
‘Uh-huh. You seem like you’re doing fine,’ Earl stated about the blindness as Skylar got his hands on the herbs finally. Then, Seabreeze was fed one of the herbs, munching on it for a bit, experiencing how UTTERLY AWFUL it tasted, when the Pokédex suddenly piped up.
Seabreeze was fully healed! Seabreeze grew to level 7! Seabreeze’s Special Defence severely fell! Dragon type was added to Seabreeze! What? Seabreeze is evolv Seabreeze did not evolve. Seabreeze learned Fowl Flap! Seabreeze fell asleep!
Fowl Flap is a flying-type move with an 18% chance of making an opponent drowsy. The user waves its wings in a sleepy manner.
It really did feel like he was about to evolve for a second there, then something also realized it wasn’t time yet and promptly stopped. Decreased Special Defence and Dragon-type would both be temporary.
‘Huh,’ the boy said, looking up at the Pokémon that had fallen asleep on Skylar’s head, and then looked down on the Pokédex. ‘Why, that’s handy. I had no idea what it’d actually do, but seems like it recovered health as intended. Good. That’s a step in the right direction,’ Earl commented, nodding. Cleffa and a couple Budews started cheering and bumping into one another like they had done a good job.
Then, he looked to Skylar’s next question, looking at the glasses with an unchanging expression.
‘I’m here gathering ingredients. This is somewhat of a fairy forest, so a bunch of these plants have unpredictable effects. Also, they say some form of a horned, mystical Pokémon inhabits these forests. I’m looking for it, see if it’ll gift me one of its horns. I bet it’d make my brews into miracles,’ he said, a snide smirk appearing on his mouth. ‘That’d make for some legendary potion, now, wouldn’t it? Currently, my brewed herbs have rather random effects, no two alike, but one day…’
‘How about you and the girl? Just out adventuring?’ Earl asked, looking Skylar over.
Vivia is currently busy giving Celebrity all the pats, both hands, a bit amazed that the Pokémon is apparently enjoying itself. That’s when Venonat, mildly jealous, dashed in next to Celebrity, also wanting pats.
'Ahahaha, sorry, you get some too-' Vivia said, letting her hand move over to pat Venonat… only to have completely forgotten that the hair around a Venonat is stiff, prickly and coated in poison. Vivia let her hand fall on the being, paused a moment, and then had to lift her hand away from the little needles she had pricked herself on with small tears in her eyes as said hand closed to shield the pain. Gloves of some kind so she can pat Venonat is most assuredly on the to-buy list…
Eventually he came to open the door again. The man who was his client for this matter stood there once again. He frowned a bit as the Shuppets still flew about, though notably they had reason to hide from this man. Still, Valen made the claim that he was going to move the Shuppets elsewhere, that they had decided to “move on to bigger things”…
‘That so?’ the man questioned, sounding like he wasn’t entirely convinced. Still...
‘I suppose you’re here for your reward, then,’ the man said, turning and heading into the house again. It took a bit of searching, but he eventually returned with two Pokéballs.
‘Here. Take one of these two, if you so want them. Otherwise, I suppose I can pay you in more cash,’ he said, and allowed Valen to examine the contents of the Pokéballs.
Pokédex Entry #495 – Snivy, the Grass Snake Pokémon. Known to be intelligent and calm, they can use their vines more deftly than their hands. They photosynthesize by bathing their tails in sunlight, and they move more swiftly after sunbathing. When they’re not feeling well, their tails droop.
and
Pokédex Entry #501 – Oshawott, the Sea Otter Pokémon. The scalchop on its stomach can be removed and is used to defend and attack. If it is attacked, it will retaliate immediately by slashing. While most known for its use in battle, it’s also known to use the scalchop as a tool for all from climbing to breaking upon hard berries.
‘I had a Tepig as well, but I gave him away to a trainer that helped me out. If you find a trainer named Maple, ask if she still has him? These Pokémon were playmates when young, so seeing each other again could be… joyful.’ … The man says with the least joyful expression ever carried by a human being.
Moving on towards the attraction over here. Keeping in mind that I earlier established with Amelia that there’s no more ghost-Pokémon in Pureplain City, I need to keep this established. Let’s simply say that someone came out to greet you and would be more than happy to have the Shuppets join their troop and that’d be the best for this particular plot as you can now say your goodbyes and move on to the next thing you want to do.
What would Valen want to do now?
Pureplain City is placed on the south-west brink of Isson, with the town facing the water and spreading quite far. The further in-town you go, the higher the buildings become, but the suburbs spread quite far. In terms of sheer landmass, it might even compete with Worldedge City, although maybe not in height. Life passes normally within this city. Children grow up alongside their parents in houses in the long, friendly streets. Jobs come from the depths of the town in the taller buildings. Schools grow from the reasonably high amount of children in need of tuition. And of course, there are lots of Pokémon.
In Pureplain City, human and Pokémon work together. Be it for manual labour or just for company, Pureplain houses often contain at least one house-hold Pokémon and there are many Trainer's Schools around the city have always been plentifully attended, not counting the recent drop of embarking trainers due to the Team Wars. In addition, Pureplain Harbor is known as the “Gateway of Isson”, as that’s where all the ferries from outside the region dock, giving life to quite the marketplace. A common attraction of the city is the Super Contest stage, but other than that, Pureplain remains what it has always been. Pure and plain.

Ralia pulled off a Confusion at Bellawesome as she dashed and sliced some clones, and it hit. Bellawesome jolted a bit with damage, but didn’t appear to be Confused nor particularly damaged for that matter. With that, Ralia was starting to run out of non-sliced clones to hide behind, and Bellawesome now approached the group which Ralia was part of. Ever one for efficiency, when so many were so close Bellawesome was quick to slice all about her in a way that took as many of them as possible in as few slices she could… and Ralia teleported out of the way before she could be hit.
‘A-ha! There she was!’ Archie called excitedly.
‘Bellossom~!’ Bellawesome called, spinning around to look across the battlefield for Ralia’s new location. Even if she was hiding among other clones, it was clear enough where she would have gone, and Bellawesome took off with considerable speed to cross the battlefield. It would not be long before Bellawesome arrived again, and this time she knew where she’d find Ralia. There may not be time for two moves this time.
@Rune_Alchemist Four days ago. Time goes so fast. Anyways, I don't want any player posts to become 5 days old without any response, so here. Quick post. Nicely posted. Last fight here is on.
@prettydrops So, we can probably jump right to depositing the Shuppets if you so wish. You did intend this to still be in Pureplain, right? Probably somewhere there. Anyways. Nicely posted. Let's see if we can also get you on some kind of road, hah.
@Gardevoiran Nicely posted. Now, here you go. Do you want to use these? Ask him any other questions? Earl here isn't necessarily the most talkative of guys if he isn't asked questions, but before that, here's some herbs, heh.
@Eklispe Yupp. Nicely posted. You are free to still suggest strategies or whatever, but I do understand if there doesn't seem to be any to suggest or if it's more natural to leave it to Amelia. Oh, well. Some way or another.
‘Oooh, a Psychic-type. Good thing you left your Poison-type behind, eh, Bell?’ Archie asked his Pokémon with a smirk. And then, Claire started out with a Double Team. Archie and Bellawesome was left looking around at the multiple clones that Ralia was producing before their eyes, Archie’s smile glowing excitedly while Bellawesome stood as calmly as ever.
‘Aaaaaaah, I don’t think any of our clever tricks will help us out with this one. So, Bellawesome!’ Archie called, a glimt in his eyes as Bellawesome’s stance tenced in preparation.
‘Cut them all!’
‘Belloss-!’ Bellawesome called out before glowing lightly from taking in the sunlight with Chlorophyll, and then launching with phenomenal speed towards the nearest clone. That Ralia was promptly cut through, because there is no way Ralia could avoid a slice that quickly on her own. With that, Bellawesome blasted to the next. In a deadly, beautiful dash, the swords-wielding Pokémon was simply going to cut through every single Ralia it came across with considerable speed, and it would only be a matter of moments before she’d come across the real one at this rate, cut after cut, taking two at once if they stood too close to one another.
The Shuppets looked around at one another and also glanced at Valen. Then… one of them drifted towards him. Then another. Then the third.
‘Shuuuuuuuup,’ the first one said.
‘Shuppeeeeeeeeet,’ the second told, smiling as it drift about.
‘Shuppet~!’ the third called out happily, as they were now circling about Valen.
Valen now has three Shuppets following him, swirling around him with all their eyes directed in looking at him. Yay?
He’s currently in Pureplain City.

'Oooh…' Vivia made a noise as Celebrity made that purring noise while being patted. This, of course, simply encouraged the mildly blushing girl to continue providing plenty of pats. Venonat staaaaaaaaaaaaared on as this kept going on…
Meanwhile. Up there at the door.
‘Huh,’ the boy replied, looking over Skylar with behind his glasses and putting the Pokéball away as Skylar introduced himself and his Pokémon. ‘Nothing much here, I’m afraid. Just plantlife and the occasional Pokémon… Hm, your Pokémon was damaged?’ So the boy commented, before turning and dashing over to the pot. He scooped up a couple herbs that were stuffed in there by the various Budews, leaving Cleffa behind to stare up at Skylar. The boy then shortly returned, hands full of leaves.
‘My name is Earl. Try these,’ he told, holding forth the herbs…
Skylar was offered 6 Mysterious Herbs!
‘… And then tell me the effects,’ he told, looking no more excited than before and yet there was just the slightest glimmer in his eyes. Multiple Budews and the Cleffa was also watching with interest.
@Rune_Alchemist Yupp. Nicely posted. Now let's see if Titania and Servus agrees with this. Also, I like the little memory of Zane. Just enough to paint him as just a bit bigger. Nice.
@Crimson Raven I approve of giving orders. Heh, but perhaps someone else has a better idea? We'll simply have to see. And yeah, managing the Dragonstone when not strictly necessary. Nice. Nicely posted.
So, apparently it’s night. This means that the fishermen huts weren’t as active as they might during the day, as normal people went to bed or elsewise, though there were some boats out over Dragon Lake that were seemingly doing something. The huts themselves were unremarkable creations, simple wooden structures built by the lakeside. The lake, of course, is a route of its own.
Route 14
It is most certainly a lake. A vast lake, that’d no doubt take quite a long time to walk around. The cliffs of Mt. Strength and Mt. Chill rises beyond the lake, and to the south are the cliffs that houses the Wet Caverns. Everywhere around the Dragon Lake lies forests, to the west and north and south, at the bases of the mountains and past. The surface of the water looks so peaceful, but way out there you know are the islands and creeks where dragons are known to roam. The places which the lake gets its name. Rain clouds are gathered in the north-west, over Route 3, as usual.
However, there was a light of a small lantern, and a single fisherman sitting with a rod out on a wooden pier, muttering to himself. On his left side was a smaller, feline-like blue Pokémon resting, and on his right was a significantly larger, bulkier blue Pokémon watching the water with tired eyes.
The fisherman himself sat between them, muttering as he looked over the waters.
‘Resting, lazy bones. Don’t they all know the best fish only comes out at night? That’s when the predators have gone quiet and the temperature has decreased, making things more comfortable for the fish. But nooo, they’re too tired. Leaving all to me, those bunch a-’
Pokédex Entry #134 – Vaporeon, the Bubble Jet Pokémon. An Eevee evolved by a Water Stone. It has grown fins and gills that allow it to live underwater. Its cell structure is similar to that of water molecules, which allows it to blend in and become almost invisible when swimming. When its fins vibrate, its a sign it’s going to rain.
Pokédex Entry #260 – Swampert, the Mud Fish Pokémon. It’s very strong, often used to tow large ships when they’re in need. It has exceptional vision that allows it to see through even the murkiest of waters. It can predict storms by sensing subtle difference in tidal winds with its fins, and will pile up boulders to protect itself.
Swampert closed its eyes for a bit, looking rather tired… when the fisherman bumped into it with an arm, making the Pokémon jerk to somewhat.
‘Hey, don’t go to sleep on me, big guy. I need your eyes if some great catches swim close,’ the fisherman said, and Swampert replied by simply yawning widely before returning to watching the waters with tired eyes. Vaporeon, though, rose to look towards Eryn, sensing her approach. It tilted its head a bit, looking at her curiously. The fisherman noticed his Pokémon’s movement, and turned to look at her too.
‘Oh. New trainer. At night. Right. Here, standard procedure,’ the fisherman said, reaching into a bag he had on the side and took out a fishing rod, one that’s not quite as good as the one he’s using but certainly looked serviceable.
Eryn was offered the Old Rod!
‘Sit down and fish with me. Now, can I help you?’ the fisherman asked, while Vaporeon was now giving Dei and Kylie curious looks. Swampert was drifting asleep again before the fisherman gave the big blue thing a slight waking bump with the left hand again.
Vivia was looking around in amazement, inspecting the pond and the Pokémon attending it.
'It’s beautiful…' she mentioned, looking over it, when she then realized something and looked to Skylar. 'Er, should I describe it to you?' she asked, a bit unsure how to act in that situation. In any case, then Skylar was left off at the treehouse and such. Meanwhile, Vivia was confronted by a Jigglypuff that seemed to want her attention. Vivia turned and looked down on the little round creature, somewhat wide-eyed and stricken, looking at the little thing. It took a couple of seconds.
'You’re so… cute…' she muttered with genuine emotion to Celebrity, getting down on one knee and reaching a careful hand to try to pat her, careful in case Celebrity expressed that it was undesirable in some way. Of course, if Celebrity wanted something else, then Vivia was not getting the point right now.
The GM completely forgetting if Vivia did anything with her other Pokémon aside, I’m placing Venonat watching over this interaction between her trainer and another trainer’s Pokémon, while Scraggy’s off visiting the pond and splashing a bit in it. Rotom’s drifting about, looking for opportunities to do things with a sneaky little smile.
Meanwhile, though, Skylar went and knocked on this door over here by the treehouse. It took a number of seconds, during which one could wonder why someone would live out here and perhaps surmise that it’d probably be abandoned, when the door opened.
On the other side of said door stood a boy. A bow with short darker hair, overdressed in coats and boots, a huge scarf wrapped around his neck and a couple small glasses before his eyes. Judging by the book he was holding, he was just reading. He most assuredly looks ready for adventure. To anyone who can properly see him, anyway. The inside of the house smells of something he’s been cooking in a pot, over there.
Also, there’s like, twenty or so Budews, running about working inside the house.
Pokédex Entry #406 – Budew, the Bud Pokémon. It is sensitive to changing temperature. In winter it closes its bud and endures, while in summer it blooms and releases its pollen. This pollen is mildly poisonous and can cause harsh sneezing. It lives near clear ponds.
They’re carrying ingredients, or mixing the powders of their own making into pans or other vegetable mixes, the occasional looking to the door because there’s a person here now.
‘Cleffa?’
And… there’s another little creature, standing on the floor next to the one who opened the door.
Pokédex Entry #173 – Cleffa, the Star Shape Pokémon. A rare Pokémon that only appears in mountainous regions on nights with shooting stars or meteor showers, dancing through the night only to disappear at sunrise. When meteors strike the earth, Cleffa is also almost guaranteed to be find around the impact crater. Due to these tendencies, people say Cleffa came to this planet riding meteors.
The boy looked to Skylar, expression unmoving, before taking out a Pokéball.
‘You here to battle?’ … Was the first and immediate question.
What would Skylar answer/ do?
… And how would Celebrity react to what Vivia was doing? Vivia would probably eventually look over to what was happening over here.
Leaf Blade raised, the sword-wielding Grass-type dashed in and sliced at Lure… who didn’t take as much damage as she maybe could have due to double Not Very Effective, but Bellawesome was dedicated to her blade. Lure blasted out another shot of Sweet Scent, and Bellawesome visibly wavered as the scent dazed her mind… yet the swordswoman cut once again, striking across Lure with the blade, no longer playing. Bellawesome was the remarkably stronger Pokémon, and yet…
And yet Lure refused to go down, despite just a small bit of health remaining, outright overpowering any chance paralyzation could keep her from doing anything more and sent out a last, spiteful Gust storm at the Flower Pokémon. Bellawesome, of course, mentally instantly coupled that she should be dodging…
‘- lloss-!’ … But it didn’t connect in time, her reactions visibly dulled from all the Sweet Scent, and the Gust attack hit her straight on. The Leaf Blade cut down into the boards beneath her, preventing her from flying who knows where, but she suffered the full damage of the Super Effective flying type move. However, come the end of the wind…
‘… Llossom~!’ The Bellossom drew the sword and flashed past the paralyzed Combee, little problem with her motions as she did the last strike. In this battle, Lure was fairly outmatched, but she had left her opponent with some tears in that leafy dress and just a bit more ruffled up from that Gust and still dazed from the Sweet Scents. She’d done what she could. Lure fainted.
Bellawesome swung the Leaf Blade over her head, grasped it with both limbs again, and turned to face her next opponent. Still smiling.
‘Wow, you’ve been showing me a battle! What do you have next~!?’ Archie asked, holding his hands forward in clenched fists, looking at Claire excitedly as they were both down to their final Pokémon.
Cofagrigus gave Amelia a long stare as she gave her reasoning for why the Pokémon would help.
‘Cofagriiii…? … Griiiiguuus…!’ it muttered, one of its arms scratching on itself on its chin(?)/blue part under the mouth.
The complication it was conveying, for any Pokémon or ghost-knower that might be in the area to understand it, was that Cofagrigus wasn’t convinced that this was an issue for it. Even if a battle of some form were to be caused, either side would know better than to mess with it. If they did mess with it, Cofagrigus would simply show what a mistake they had made. Besides, even if he did try to do something about it, Aegislash and his lackeys are together stronger than him, and he didn’t feel assured that whatever plan these kids would be cooking up would be something he’d feel safe taking part in.
So, as in, “Why does that concern me? I’m not entirely convinced!”.
… That’s when one little Yamask flew in beside him and yelled at him.
‘Yamask!’
Cofagrigus looked just the slightest inconvenienced. … Then another Yamask joined in to yell as well. And another.
‘Yamask!’ ‘Yama!’ ‘Yamask!’ ‘Yamask-ask!’
There was a bunch of Yamasks asking the Cofagrigus with little pleading voices, coming to turn their attention to this after the Honedge had been defeated. Cofagrigus grunted, before shaking itself and calling out in a louder voice that silenced the smaller ones.
‘GRIGUS…!!’
After that, the Cofagrigus looked just that slightest more exhausted, then looked towards Amelia and Dawkin… before giving a ghostly little shrug with two out of four arms, giving a bit of a grin, and then looked back at the two again.
‘Cofagrigus?’ it asked, sounding confident. The question, translated, would be “What would you have me do?”
The two are in a room with a bunch of Yamasks and one Cofagrigus.
Reminder. The “ghost” markers are simply more powerful presences that Amelia might sense, no clue what they actually are.
Viridia looked up at Marwood with a somewhat panicked look on account that he had been leaving her behind, but then when he turned back, smiling to her so widely… It was as if he somehow knew exactly what he was doing, despite the terrible odds he was up against. Viridia stopped short looking at him, slightly taken aback, but he gave his orders and made it all sound like it worked. With Osmund and a commander like this… like Prince Marwood of Renais, perhaps this would work out after all?
‘… Yes, sir!’ Viridia gripped her lance harder and acknowledged the command.
Kara blasted aside the Fighter that had stood before her and advanced. Marwood struck against the Fighter somewhat forward and to his left, the opponent unprepared to meet him and missed with his counter-swing due to a disadvantage in the Weapon Triangle. The Soldier to his left spun to attempt supporting him, but found himself stabbed by Viridia who came forth with newfound vigour and took him out. The Fighter WOULD have been alive after Marwood’s strike, except he was suddenly the closest target to Kara after the Mercenaries before Kara had pulled back somewhat due to Marwood’s speech, debating their alternatives. She could promptly finish what Marwood had started there, and then they had cleared out the enemies here.
‘Well. It appears miss doesn’t currently need protection,’ Osmund mused for himself, running to Kara’s side. ‘It’s an honour to fight on your side, miss.’
With that, they had cleared the way out… for themselves, that is.
The Knight stood firm, intent on holding against Kergin’s next attack again, when Isolde jumped back onto his back and struck down with the halberd. It bit into the man’s armour, the disadvantage in Weapon Triangle meaning he couldn’t properly defend himself.
‘GAH!’ the man jerked back, hurt but not out, his heavy armour serving him well… however, he had a commander behind him which wasn’t going to just stand there until his companion was taken out.
‘OUT OF THE WAY!’ Zane shouted, gripping the Knight and throwing him behind him, before Zane himself advanced on Isolde. This is about the time when Titania showed up behind her, using her staff to heal Kergin’s wound, restoring the Wyvern to full health.
‘FINALLY, A CHALLENGE!’ Zane cried out in glee, facing towards Isolde and Kergin. ‘I’VE TRAVELLED ALL THIS WAY, ONLY TO BE MET WITH WEAKLINGS! You…’ He frowned at her. ‘YOU’RE NOT INZANE, BUT YOU’LL DO TO SATE MY HUNGER! FACE ME!’ Saying so, Zane advanced and swung his lance.
Isolde might recognize the man, if she so wishes. This man, Zane, was once a knight of Grado, but he left for Jehanna because the stillness of being a guard on duty never gave him the battles he desired, the kinds that could satisfy him. He was never a pleasant fellow. Now he had returned home with the Jehannan army, with apparently no love for his homeland to spare as he advanced so ruthlessly. He swung his lance with powerful, accurate strikes, and it was only thanks to the advantage of wielding an axe that Isolde could currently keep him at bay. This man was not someone she could handle on her own like this.
Zane prepared his lance, and charged forth at her to stab at Kergin, closest target, and would likely hit if she stayed to fight in these circumstances. He’s far stronger than the previous Knight.
Servus attempted to turn to head over to help earlier, but found that the path was pretty blocked. This street didn’t fit more than one wyvern at a time, not to mention there was a pile of enemies gathering on the other side, grouping behind their commander. Setting down there would have been an exceedingly risky move.
Aldo, meanwhile, nodded to Servus’ thanks and then sent another dark Flux spell at the Soldiers standing close, felling one of them and making the other step back a few more steps, lance ready, Aldo and him engaging in a staring battle, Aldo keeping one hand raised towards the Soldier as a threat should the man attempt to step into battle.
‘Marwood has cleared the way to the south,’ Aldo mentioned to his nearby allies, seeing how it looked through the Tactician’s Stone. ‘We have two wyverns. We don’t have to fight him,’ Aldo attempted to suggest, but it was ultimately not up to him.
[@basically anyone looking that direction]
Throughout this whole battle, a lonely Thief had been waiting in the shrubberies. He’d been looking for his opportunity to get some form of loot, seeing how this was in the midst of the war between Jehanna and Grado. This was the capital, there was bound to be money somewhere. However, this turned out to be a lot more action, and a lot more of it looking like it’d be dangerous for a lonely thief to stick around. He’d have to do something quick to make sure he had enough money for a while… And there’s a wagon full of wares from a shop in the other direction. Perfect.
The Thief dashed out towards the wagon and the Fighter escorting it in a stealthy and fast dash, the Fighter not even noticing him until he was right next to him. The Thief prepared his knife, and-
CLANK!
‘Hah, I’m back just in time,’ Hevel said, having just lost the guards he was distracting in the woods and was able to run back here in time to show up. And for the equivalent of taking out three guards at the gate...
Level Up! Hevel: Level 2 -> 3, HP+1, SPD+1, RES+1 ‘Is this enough? Am I doing my best? Can I keep up like this?’
Silvio threw a single look back at the Thief that had just protected him, grinned widely, and called out.
‘Thanks, lad!’
… Before both him and his wagon-driving companion stormed down and out of the map.
‘Eh- Wait, you had an axe, you could have help-’ and there Hevel had to shut up because he had to dodge under a knife-slice from the opposing Thief, holding his own little sword up in a guard-position. ‘Oh, geesh.’
Neither Thief really wanted to fight each other right there.
Noteworthy Movement: The Soldier by the Colosseum is running north after having seen Kara. He intends to inform the higher-ups. Those two Mercenaries are currently scared stiff of Kara. The rest of the reds there are following Zane, which sounds like the smartest course of action right now.
Hevel’s still green on the map because the Tactician’s Stone has not recognized him as an ally yet.
