"I can Rocket Punch! This is so cool!"

...Ok, good. Just testing that they were distinguishable.

Mina's attention was caught by Roy mentioning something that happened in the gym, adding 'sorry you all had to see that.' Now Mina was curious. Exactly what had happened in the gym after she left? She was about to chase this up, but her attention was pulled in another direction. The table started to float. Nobody in this room had a quirk that could do this.

A girl appeared underneath the table. Invisibility? No, that wouldn't explain everything. Just what was this girl's quirk? Intangibility? She loudly announced her prescene, droped the table with a loud band, and tried to start a conversation with them. Urgh. Mina's utter disdain and contempt for this new girl was so icy it could probably freeze breath. This newcomer was almost as obnoxious as the blue haired boy. Aaand as if on cue, he started proving that he could not be outdone in the 'loud and obnoxious' olympics, yelling about ghosts and spirits. She'd been right to avoid him since day one, when he had proclaimed himself 'the main character'. He was Don Quixote levels of deluded.

Another girl entered, and this one, Mina did recognize. She was one of the upperclassmen. Mina didn't remember her name but she had always seemed like she was an authority figure worthy of respect. It made sense, as it one year's time, she would likely be in the Hero industry itself. She mentioned to Dulga that she wanted to talk to all of them. Interesting...

"Tomoe-Chan! Thank god! I was about to look for you!" Hitomi started, before seeing that she was frowning, and frowned too. She waited for Tomoe to tell her what was wrong. As she listened, she was both relieved and saddened. Nothing was seriously wrong, but what was wrong was all her fault. At least she knew what she did wrong, but she was beating herself up about it way too much, and it was painful to see. When she asked if she should leave, Hitomi, sighed and hugged her.

"Oh, Tomoe-chan, don't be so silly! Of course you shouldn't leave!" she reassured her before breaking the hug so she could talk eye to eye. "I may have...overreacted a little bit before, because Acion and I...well, you probably already knew. By the way, we're officially dating now! Since about three minutes ago, but still!"

Nadeko Tayama

Nadeko had gotten up at 4am just to check the mail for this box. She could barely sleep the night before. Partly from knowing that today was the first day of her new school life as a Hero student, and partly because of this box. Gear Girl, Nadeko's idol growing up due to the similarity of their quirk effects, had made a set of intricate mechanical hands that could be operated by minute magnetic forces in specific areas. Upon opening the box, Nadeko would see the hands, ornate and looking like 19th century clockwork trinkets as per Gear Girl's style, but with a coat of metallic red paint to fit in with Nadeko's proposed costume's color palate. The hands themselves were made of brass, but the rim around each wrist was pure iron, as were the tips of the coils inside that allowed her to operate them. Also inside the box was a thick white leather belt, with two patches at the rear that could contain the hands when not in use. There was also a pamphlet at the bottom containing instructions. After removing the hands and the belt, Nadeko picked up the box with her flat stumps and lifted it to tip it upside down and retrieve the pamphlet.

For the better part of two hours, Nadeko reads the instructions, and plays around with the hands. It's new and exciting, but also a little frustrating, as Nadeko wasn't used to using her magnet arms in such a precise way before. An interesting thing about the hans was that they had a locking feature. Pressing down a pin on the side of the hand, you could lock a hand into a specific position so that magnetism wouldn't then affect the hand. Nadeko immediately saw the benefit of this, and opened her window. Very slowly and carefully, she focused on closing each finger individually to make a fist, then aimed her fist out the window and suddenly repulsed the fist. It was sent flying out the window. She suddenly put all her effort into attracting it and the fist flew back and attached itself to her flat stump again. She depressed the pin, and could move the hand again.

"I can Rocket Punch! This is so cool!" she chimed excitedly, before her parents called her to breakfast. The distraction breaking her concentration resulted in both hands falling to the floor. She blushed and put them back on. Keeping the hands on would require a conscious effort to maintain. Over time, she might get used to it, but for now, that must be why she had the belt. When she didn't need her hands, she could just carry them.

At breakfast, she tried to use chopsticks with her new hands, and made a mess. So she admitted that may have been a little too ambitious, and tried to hold a fork instead. When this was also beyong her, she sighed, put her hands away and magnetically stuck the fork to her arm, before twisting it so that she could eat just like she had her whole life; handless.

After breakfast, Nadeko kissed her parents on the cheeks, yelled goodbye and headed out to catch the train.

Katsumi Enoke

Katsumi stepped off the train, smiling shyly to herself and avoiding eye contact. She looked young for her age and her sense of fashion didn't help. Several people on the train had thought she was 12 or 13. She was 15. This was her first day of Hero School. Finally. After a lifetime of being told her quirk was a 'Supervillain quirk'. After hearing people jokingly claim they were jealous, and that if they had her quirk they'd impersonate famous or influential people and use it to get rich or powerful. Kat never wanted that. She was the purest, kindest soul you could meat, or she would be if it weren't for the years of repressed bitterness. Of course she always wanted to help people and do the right thing, but that's not why she was going to Hero School. She was doing this primarily to prove everybody wrong. To prove that she wasn't a villain, but a hero!

Still, that couldn't happen if she couldn't even find the meeting place. There were several other students her age, wondering around aimlessly. She decided not to follow them. She needed a better view of the place. There wasn't a map. A lot of buildings were run down. She found quite a tall one, and went around to it's back door, which was chained and padlocked. She morphed to give herself the body of a strongman, and kicked the door off it's hinges. Then she morphed again to give herself the body of the women's marathon first place winner she saw in T.V. a few weeks ago, and started running up the stairwell. Once she was at the top, she looked out the windows of the foyer, and spotted a big plaza full of teenagers. That would definitely be the place, and she knew its direction now. She started to head down the staircase. After less that five minutes, Katsumi was in the plaza with the rest of the students, with time to spare! She looked around. There were many interesting quirks. One that stuck out was a girl with giant comical rectangular magnets for arms. Katsumi was about to laugh, before she thought about it and realized how awful that must be to live with.

Heidi didn't see what was said between Lex and Una, but watched as he turned to her, said a short sentence, took a hefty slug of whiskey, draining the bottle, then threw it at the wall. This wasn't a overtly hostile act, but the violent gesture coupled with the heavy drinking suggested he was anxious and on edge. Possibly even scared. But not at her specifically. Maybe he was scared because her friends were coming. Maybe Ayel had scared him. Or maybe there was another reason entirely.

He used a lighter to illuminate his mouth, and Heidi squinted to read his lips as he spoke, which was a welcome courtesy. Heidi read the words he was saying, and was only further convinced that he was on edge judging by his word choice. She didn't have the leverage or security to exploit this without the danger of her bluff being called, so instead she decided that she should use this opportunity to acquire information.

"Neither, I hope. I'm here to talk, though the lighting might make that difficult. I came here out of concern for Uná. She's my classmate. I thought she'd been kidnapped. I suppose that's still what happened even if she doesn't exactly look like a hostage right now. What is happening? Why did you leave with Uná? Why bring here here? Why is there so much armed security? And why...are you so scared right now? Is there something I'm missing? A sound, perhaps?"

It was at that moment that Uná disappeared from view. Heidi moved forward to check what happened, and if she was okay, but as she got further into the room, she could now see out of the room's window, down onto the dance floor below. She froze in fright. Who....or what...was that?!!

Sitting in silence and just basking in each other's company now that they were officially a couple felt great. Who knew silence and inactivity could be so fun and meaningful? Action eventually broke the silence by bringing up Tomoe. It was certainly true that Tomoe seemed in a bad mood earlier, and Hitomi probably hadn't helped. Her ears drooped, and she cringed.

"I completely forgot about Tomoe! God, I'm such a terrible friend! I've got to go find her!" She exclaimed, getting up and heading to the door. She stopped and turned back with a small smile. "Do you want to go together?"

Mako was happy to change the subject from her past. Despite her smiling, gleeful demeanour, she was keeping a lot of darkness buried very deep, and she'd like it to stay there. She did think he was wrong about her, but it was sweet of him to say the things he'd said. It was true that Mako had a code of honor, never killed, and never stole from people who couldn't afford it, but she had hurt plenty of people, most of them heroes or law enforcement, and she'd enjoyed every second of it. She'd never go as far as to say she regrets a thing, or is repentful, but thinking about those days always brought a cringe or two out of her. Still, Jean's new question was also something to think about.

"To be honest, I'm not really much of a planner. I don't have goals. I prefer to live in the moment. I only started studying in the secretarial field because I was just thinking about how amusing the headlines would be. 'Former most wanted criminal in all Japan becomes secretary.' It's only once I started did I realise how fulfilling such a simple task could be. Little work for immediate rewards. That's also why I applied here of all places. Madame Obsidian working at a Hero School? I mean, what's not to love about that?"

If Mina was the hugging type, she would have hugged Yukari for changing the subject. Then again, it was partly her fault they were all here trying to talk to each other in the first place, so maybe not. She did bring up a good point. All Mina had done since she got here was training and class, training and class. Her life used to be more than that. Then again, shopping wasn't going to make you stronger or a better hero. Before Mina could answer, Roy, was standing at the doorway, knocking on the wall. Mina gave him a curt nod of acknowledgement.

Natalie Ellis

Natalie wordlessly entered the living room, and looked around. This was...probably what her apartment would look like if she didn't share it. Her and El had a wordless agreement to keep it somewhat clean for each other's sake, so forced themselves to make the effort. Archie lived alone. Judging by the amount and state of dishes, they weren't months old or anything. He probably had a productive spell every so often. This particular load had probably been mounting up since they first met, at the house. Not that she could blame him. It had turned her deliberately simple life into a confusing mess with a lot to think about and ponder. It was probably the same for him.

He returned from his room, now wearing a shirt at least. His explanation was disappointing, but she could relate. It did raise the question that if he couldn't even muster the energy to charge his phone, and discounting the possibility that he didn't want to talk to her, had he been eating? He asked her if she'd like to talk about what happened. Natalie sighed.

"We're going to have to eventually, but I don't have any other plans today. First of all, have you eaten? This...isn't the house of someone who's taking care of themselves."

Once Heidi reached the top, she saw the carnage that Ayel had wreacked. There was solace in the fact that he hadn't killed all of them, and this was better than Heidi could have expected, but it still hurt to see people dead as an indirect result of her actions. She swallowed. She was going to have to get used to that feeling. This wouldn't be the first time she'd feel it.

She saw a shadow emerge from a room at the other side of the hallway and dived into an empty room before the figure emerged. Luckily, it was at that moment that the power went out, and the sprinklers went off, so Heidi then stole a glance out of the doorway. It was Ayel. And he didn't have Una. Heidi found this very suspicious, and already didn't trust Ayel to start with, so she let him pass. She'd deal with him later. She had to find out Una's fate first and foremost. Once Ayel disappeared down the stairwell, Heidi emerged and started heading to the room that Ayel had emerged from. As she did, she thought about the power going out. Coupled with the disruption before, this was clearly sabotage. The cavalry was already here. Good. They'd bump into Ayel. She didn't want him running off into the night.

Heidi entered the now dark room, but from the lights outside shining through the windows, she could see Una, and the man from the club. Una didn't look like a prisoner at all, and her 'captor' wasn't threatening either Heidi nor Una. Something more complicated was going on here. Heidi squinted. The lighting wasn't good enough to see either of their mouths. They could be talking to her right now and she wouldn't know! She coughed awkardly.

"Sorry, do either of you have a waterproof flashlight?" asked this small soaking fifteen year old girl, still dressed for a night in a club. "I'm deaf, and it's too dark to read your lips."

With her eyes still closed, Pokkin could sense that there was nobody nearby and she'd have to venture further north. Before she opened her eyes and continues to set off, she felt somebody approaching, somebody who was stronger than her. It felt like the one she'd felt before. It was above her, and it was descending. She opened her eyes, and tuned back into her earthly senses. She might need them. What landed was a human, with a shaved head and in a martial arts gi. He asked her if she lived herein a civil manner, and she immediately relaxed and let her guard down somewhat.

"No. I just got here. I actually think I was tracking your ki, but I wanted to know what happened. What happened to Parsley City, and to that very strong being who came out of the sky, and that's when I felt a very high power level come very close to my town in Fukurou Forest and then head north. That must have been you. I'm Pokkin."

Mina raised eyebrow when she was asked about boys first. Why was she asked? Maybe Yozakura thought it would be entertaining to watch Mina of all people talk about boys. Or maybe she knew that Mina had a crush on Jett and was trying to stir trouble. Either way, it riled Mina up. But it's fine. She was above it. She'd play along. She smiled, entering 'lady mode' again though not being quite so fake as she was with Asuna. She was much more natural this time. It was as if part of her was glad to thaw out, open up to others and act like a girl.

"What I look for? I haven't really been looking but I suppose...you're right about being nice being the baseline. Hmm...they'd have to be confident, and have enough of a personality to be fun to be around. Also stubborn. I mean, not in an 'they always insist they're right' kind of way, more like 'they will not stop trying to help or talk to you even if you think you don't want to', you know?"
