Nothing. She’d been wandering these forests for awhile now and Torvi had come across nothing. She was beginning to feel rather tired, the fight from several hours ago mixed with the loss of her sister and all the emotions she’d felt along with walking were starting to take their toll. She was doing her best to remain alert, but all she really wanted to do was sit down and rest. To lay somewhere and cry over her loss. Not only the loss of her sister, but the potential loss of her village. They had been losing even while she was there, what had become of her village?

These thoughts mixed with her exhaustion are probably why she hadn’t initially heard the approach of someone. That is until words were being spoken, words she couldn’t quite make out at the moment. Where they talking to her or someone else? There was no other voice so perhaps it was her they were speaking to? Either way her hand had instinctively gone to one of her axes as she turned towards the person. She would fight if she needed to.

”Who are you? Torvi began as she looked at the man, voice full of cautious hostility. ”What are you?...” She then asked with confusion and wonder as the sight of him caught her off guard. His hair was pure white, whiter than her own, or was it silver? Maybe even blue? Then his ears were delicately pointed, but these weren’t the strangest of his appearance. He had dark blue horns sprouting from his forehead along with wings, quite beautiful wings, emerging from his back. She cautiously stepped closer, inspecting him with curiosity now.

”Are you an...elf?” She questioned, thinking of all the stories her father had told her in her lifetime. ”No, you can’t be. Elves are beautiful, seductive women with wings. You are clearly a beautiful male.” She stated as she tried to reason things out, now having started circling him, trying to inspect him closer. Just where was she that a creature such as this existed?

She circled back round to the front of him, her mind now back to wondering where she was. This was the person she was looking for and now she wanted answers. ”Where am I? Who are you? Why was I brought here? Yes my ears are rounded, you got a problem with that?” She asked all these questions in rapid succession as she pointed her axe and the man and the bird.

Kenia stood silently as she let Malachi act out his role and did so quite beautifully. She was quite impressed with how he played his part, glad he was willing to go along with it. She hated having to kiss up to Terneus, but at the moment it seemed like their best course of action. She would have to tease him later on how well he played this roll if they made it out of this, however.

As the guards began moving towards where Rei and Cora were hidden, her hand prepared to reach for one of her poisoned knives hidden at her leg. She kept the movement slow and natural, as if she were just dropping her hands to her sides. She also kept her eyes on Malachi and Terneus while watching the guards out of the corner of her eyes. Thankfully Terneus called them back to him, worried that he may catch something from it.

That was the moment that she realized they may have fucked up a bit as Terneus offered Malachi a position in his army. She stole a quick glance at Malachi and soon realized she was going to need to help out with this one. Time to spin another web of lies. She let the haughty elf finish his talking and his disciplining of his knight before she dared to speak up.

”My lord, if I may, but I don’t think that would be the best idea.” She began, speaking in a softer tone now as if to only be heard by him but also knowing Malachi would likely still hear every word she said. ”I don’t doubt your judgement by any means, but I fear there are some things you are yet aware of about my dear friend here. I don’t think he’s all right in the head and so I don’t think that he would pick up on being a guard easily, it may take twice the training as normal.” She began to explain, now it was time to make Terneus a bit fearful and disgusted. ”That and I fear he may be tainted. I’m sure by now you’ve smelt that strange scent? You see, he is sweet on some Demi-Human female and I fear that she may have passed on something to him.” She told him, making a face of disgust hoping this would cause him to want to vacate the area quickly. If it didn’t then she had half a mind to shank him right there with one of her knives.

Welcome to the world of Ossvien, a world that is vastly covered in ocean with only three major continents yet many small grouping of islands. This world is very much fantasy driven with many unique races and magic. Technology is equivalent to that of the Golden Age of Piracy and yet the world is thriving. There are large port towns and trade happening daily as sailing the oceans is one of the most popular jobs. With this, however, comes pirates. In this world, pirates even have their own community, living on two islands that are set between the three continents. They elect a Pirate King or Queen and although they don’t have a stable government, they do have a loosely based code they live by.

The continents have their own ruling powers as well along with militaries and naval fleets. Pirates are a great nuisance, however when you have a large continent to rule you may often overlook the acts of piracy. Especially when you may have some political unrest within your borders that seems to take up most of your time. There are many people who seem to be well off, yet there are also those poor and getting no help from the richer folk. So often they have to turn to other means to survive. That often involves joining a pirate crew or selling your child off to a merchant ship.

Our story starts with the disappearance of the merchant ship, the Arcadian. This ship has gone missing on its journey from the coast of Linfort to the continent of Glasston. Rumor has it that it was carrying a vast majority of riches along with the bride and future queen of the Glasstonian empires heir. The seas are a dangerous place, being plagued with many pirate ships looking to rob any unfortunate merchant ship that they come across. It isn’t often, however, that the pirates will actually sink a merchant ship and often times that ship will end up at its destination at one point or another.

When the Arcadian never showed up in Glasston people began to worry about what had happened to them. Had pirates actually disposed of the ship and was everything lost? Or had something far more foul happened to the ship? They did have to sail past the Shadowmount Isles, a place many ships tried to avoid, even pirates. There was something dark about these islands, something that many who’d survived the journey through them say they fear. They explain it as a dark, ominous energy coming off of them. Some have even been rumored to be driven mad from it. It isn’t uncommon for ships to go missing around their either.

Soon the disappearance of the Arcadian had become known to the world and many began to seek out what happened to it. Pirates wished to find the ship for the treasures it was rumored to carry while the Glasstonian’s sent out a naval ship in hopes of recovering the lost riches and hopefully the future queen. Only the bravest are willing to sail into the Shadowmount Isles, or perhaps it’s the stupid.

We will follow the pirate ship, Mermaid’s Fortune, and the Glasstonian naval ship, The Avalon Avenger, as they both set off to search for the Arcadian. You can choose to be on either ship and any race. The pirates are hoping to find the ship for a big fat payday while the naval ship is looking to recover what was lost to their empire. They will all be sailing towards the Shadowmount Isles and there's a high chance they may come across each other among other dangers.

Elsea had been more focused on trying to keep herself calm so when Kyran asked for them all to hold hands she did it without question. She couldn’t see in the cave and that bothered her, but fortunately Kyran seemed to be able to. They made their way through the water and at first it was fine, however it began to get deeper and deeper. As it hit her chest she felt a small swell of panic rising in her. If it got any deeper how was she supposed to keep hold of their hands and swim? This was the thought rushing through her mind as she also began to shiver from the chill of the water.

Thankfully the water never did get any deeper and they were soon emerging to the drier area of the cave. Her shivers began to intensify and as a reaction her body began to heat, warming her and quickly drying the water off her skin. Didn’t help much for her soaked clothes now, but at least she wasn’t freezing. This was the first time she found that she was actually thankful for her newfound magic.

Both Kyran and Risa began to urge her to try and control her magic so they could hopefully have light. She liked this plan, not being entirely fond of the dark. She began trying to focus a flame appearing over her hands and...nothing. Not even a flicker. She tried again, trying to focus the heat in her body to that spot. Nothing. She sighed in frustration. ”It’s not working.” She complained, voice full of irritation. Then something clicked in her head that Risa had said. Use her emotions to create the fire. Perhaps she could use this frustration to her advantage. She focused in on that emotion, glaring at where she knew her hands were at. Come on you stupid thing. I’m wet, I’m cold, I can’t see, people are trying to kill me, the least you can do is work. She thought angrily to herself, as if she were talking to whatever part of her held the magic.

Almost as if in response a large flame erupted above her hands. A VERY large flame. She gasped in shock and almost lost control of it, but quickly recovered. She quickly focused, trying to gain control over it. Better, but not so giant. Come on now, calm down some. She started to coax it and sure enough it slowly shrunk down to a manageable size. She finally felt like she had a small thread of control over this and she looked to the other with a beaming smile. She was too distracted by her success to notice that the light of her fire was now dancing off of the crystals and creating quite a beautiful sight.

Kenia continued with Terneus towards the cave entrance of the cave as he reassured her that she would be paid if she brought any humans to him. ”You know how to speak my language, my lord.” She told him with a grin, albeit a fake one. But can you pay as much as Aklentroth is offering?... She silently wondered for a brief moment. The prospect of money was very tempting to her, however, so was the prospect of using these humans to get to her ultimate goal. For now she would stick to her previous plan until she was sure of whether or not they could help her.

When the pompous elf stopped, Kenia sent up a silent prayer that he would decide to just leave. Her hope was crushed, however, when he became interested in Malachi. She could have kicked herself for making mention of him now, but at the time she was concerned that the mention of the mud wouldn’t quite be enough. She was trying to ensure that they didn’t look any more suspicious than they already potentially did.

She kept her mouth shut as she didn’t want to say much more that may cause Terneus to stick around longer. Instead she continued on into the cave. She quickly made eye contact with Malachi, as if to apologize for him now having to speak with Terneus. She also hoped that he would be able to act out the role she had just put him in. She did not want to have to fight if she absolutely didn’t have to.

Terneus went about introducing himself in his overly lavosh way and it took everything in Kenia not to roll her eyes. He was certainly something else and she hated how he thought he was better than them. She stole another quick glance to Malachi as she reconsidered everything. Perhaps it would be beneficial to rid this world of this pompous ass right now? She then started thinking about all the repercussions and settled on it not being worth it. For now they just needed to get him on his merry way.

Azriel listened to the others speak, taking in each bit of information as a plan seemed to begin to form between all of them. Xenelith had a great idea on having O’Ner turn into a woman based off of what he had already observed of them. Especially an injured woman, that could definitely help them sell this plan. She moved over to the map in order to show everyone where she had seen their prey. ”They were heading this direction from here.” She stated as she pointed to the section she had seen the male fairy and human woman in. ”If I had to guess I would say they are somewhere in this vicinity. I could easily lead us in the direction.” She finished as she circled a small area.

Something O’Ner said had definitely concerned her, however. ”O’Ner makes a very valid point, though, on something so simple that may give us away. He does not smell like a human, he does have a clear scent of death on him. So unless we can find a way to mask that, then this plan may not work out for long term.” She exclaimed as she looked between the three men. She also was unsure of what humans actually smelt like as she had yet to come across one. ”However the longer we sit here discussing this the more likely our prey is to get away now. Perhaps we risk it and hope that they don’t recognize O’Ner’s scent right away and are more distracted by the commander and I?” She suggested, knowing they needed to get a move on quickly. She even began to move towards the tent flap to emphasize the urgency of the situation.

Sounds of battle raged around the pale haired woman as she loosed an arrow, finding her target right through the neck. This was what Torvi had been doing for the past ten minutes, following the same pattern. Nock an arrow. Pull the bowstring back. Take aim. Breathe. Release. Over and over again she kept this up as she tried to stay far enough back from the fighting for the bow to be useful. Not far from her she caught sight of her sister, Siiri, let out a battle cry as she flung herself at another enemy.

The men of the village hadn’t planned for the attack and so they left on a raid, leaving the women to defend their little village. Thankfully Torvi had the smarts to realize that if they were starving then there was a chance that other villages were as well. She hadn’t planned for them to be attacked, of course, but she made sure the people were ready in case there was a raid on their village. The women were the prominent fighters at the moment, however young boys joined in along with the elderly men. They all were willing to fight and die for their village.

Her plan to keep far enough away from the fighting had been going well up until this point. The raid group was breaking through their lines and getting closer and closer to her. She released another arrow as something began to pull her attention. Near her a large portal began opening up and she stared at it in awe and horror. She dropped her guard and someone took advantage of this, rushing at her with an axe. “Torvi!” She heard her sister cry and she whipped her head back around just in time to see Siiri jump in front of her. The axe came down hard and everything seemed to happen in slow motion at that point. She watched as the axe embedded itself into her sister’s chest while her sister ran the man through with her sword. Torvi let out a scream before she was sucked through the portal.

When she opened her eyes she was in a forest and it was dark. It wasn’t dark just moments ago, was it? That’s when the scene came rushing back to her once more and she shoved herself upwards as she looked around frantically. ”Siiri!” She screamed as her eyes scanned the area. Where are you dammit… She thought to herself as she began to move. She had to find her, she had to be okay.

Moments later she saw a body on the forest floor and she rushed over to it. As she got closer she saw the familiar form of her sister and she ran full speed to her side. She dropped down and looked Siiri over, seeing the gruesome gash in her chest. She also watched as her chest rose and fell in shallow breaths. “Torvi…” Siiri spoke her name in a weak, gurgling noise. The sound tore at Torvi’s heart and she looked to her sister’s face. “Where are we Torvi?...This isn’t home…” Siiri asked, a hint of fear in her voice and it caused tears to come to Torvi’s eyes. She moved to place her sister’s head in her lap as she began to gently stroke her hair.

”It’s okay Siiri, everything is going to be okay. Freyja must have chosen you.” Torvi manage to say, giving her sister a soft smile as tears fell down her cheeks. ”You’re in Fólkvangr now, you’re going to dine with Freyja and her court after you get some rest.” She told her sister, trying to fill her last thoughts with happy ones as Torvi felt herself crumbling.

“It hurts, Torvi. It hurts so bad.” Siiri began to complain and move around restlessly. Torvi just hushed her and bid her to lie still as she continued to stroke her face and hair. She did quiet after a few moments and Torvi knew it wouldn’t be long now. “I’m so tired Torvi...sing me a song please...like when we were kids...sing me a song so I can sleep…” She asked and a sob broke from Torvi as she nodded.

”My heart shall see light...our hearts shall be forever...go forth, rest in dreamland...I'll soon be there...wait for me my love...you know I'm here...to join you in dreams...you have nothing to fear…” She softly sang a lullaby to Siiri, watching as her breathing slowly ceased. She continued to sit there for a long time after still singing softly and sobbing.

Hours later the cold had seeped deep into Torvi’s bones and her sister was freezing to the touch. She knew she couldn’t stay there for much longer yet she struggled with just leaving her sister without a proper burial. She finally came to the conclusion that if she wanted to live and not die from freezing to death she would have to leave her. So with a tear stained face she pulled off her sister’s necklace, placed it around her own neck, kissed her brow, and then left her there. She needed to find someplace to either stop and make a fire or find civilization. At least getting moving would help her stay a bit warmer.

Dawn finally broke and she had found a small alcove and some materials to start a very small fire. She sat as close to it as she could, trying her best to keep warm when the strangest vision appeared in the sky. A skeletal being, something similar to Hela, appeared in the sky professing a message. She was shocked to find out that her kind were being hunted...who lived in this land other than humans? Just where was she? She made a quick decision and put out the fire, deciding it best to not draw as much attention to herself as possible. I need to find out more information on where I’m at and why I’m here, but I also need to be cautious of everyone… She thought to herself as she began to quietly make her way through the forest, hoping to come across someone and maybe get the jump on them. She could take on one person at very least.

"It will?" Lor questioned as she glanced around the room while stepping inside. "Intriguing..." She said as she wondered about how that was possible. Back in her village they only had basic technology and stuff so this was quite interesting to her.

"Thank you again Kela. Your hospitality really is appreciated. I suppose we challenge see you all in the morning." Sindra said, bidding everyone goodnight before she went to settle into the room and looked at Lor. ""So who do you think this Damien person really is?" Sindra questioned the elven woman as she lay down. She didn't mention the fact that she'd overheard Ram and Damien talking before they got to the room.

"I suppose he's just another man who hates the tyrant king just like I do. I think they all are." Lor responded as she too lay down on her bed. She had also overheard the conversation, yet kept it to herself just in case anyone was listening. She could question Damien about it at a later date. Sindra merely gave her a nod and both fell quiet. It wasn't long before they had both drifted off into Dreamland.
