Bio

I have been writing as a hobby for longer than you have been alive. I have been a regular member and roleplayer of no less than fourteen different online forums during that time (including the old RPG), five six eight of which no longer exist.

I was previously a regular on the Homestuck forums, but I became so sick of thread turnover there that I asked around and eventually found the Guild. Since joining, I have exclusively only participated in Advanced RPs. Before Mahz gave NRPs their own subforum, I used to be an NRP regular in the Advanced Subforum. I am a Guildfall survivor, and know/regularly write with a few others.

If you ask anybody who has written with me in previous RPs, they should tell you that I have a generally open schedule, I post regularly and in a timely fashion, and I never drop an RP once I join unless the thread dies. Some of them may tell you that I have extensive expertise within the realms of Biology, Psychology, and Physics, which I will make no effort to validate since there is no way I can provide hard proof of aforementioned alleged expertise to anybody over the internet (though I am happy to try and answer any questions you send my way).

My favorite fandom is the Myst franchise, which seemingly nobody other than me has ever heard of.

I was a Contest Moderator for the Writing Contests Subforum for just a little bit over two years. I wrote the Moderation Policy for that subforum and I ran a contest called the Twelve Labours; you can still go there and see all of them and the entries people wrote for them in the Contests Section and the Victory Archives.

I have been quadruple secret banned from the guild discord. That is not a joke.

The Second Labour will be posted shortly ahead of schedule due to shenanigans™. Please stand by.

Also be aware, Judges are independently selected for each Labour. Which means there are officially four available positions for judges as of this moment. Send a PM to @Terminal for further details.

EDIT: Second Labour is up. Go at it.
As a general notice prior to TTL#2 going up (which will be at the Objective point of Midnight), @PlatinumSkink has successfully appealed their entry and is now retroactively considered to be a winner. All related records and minutiae will be edited shortly to reflect this.
Here is a list of Poster Statuses currently, posted in order of listing within the character tab:

I will now begin compiling a list of IC actions comprehensively so I can post a synopsis here, and then begin to periodically update the OOC with IC Status Updates. In the meantime:

@mattmanganon: There is a rough summary of IC plot occurrences starting here.
I just sent you a PM a minute ago. Sorry that it took so long, but I was only made co-GM half a day ago and was busy reviewing each of the nation sheets.
I am currently reviewing all of the nation sheets and poster applications. Once I am done, I will send notifications to everyone to see who is still actually participating and append a list of possible revisions or clarifications that might like to make to their nation sheet. I will also periodically update the OOC with a basic synopsis of IC information for the convenience of newcomers.

I will also be sending notifications to posters based on contextual IC-posting order (which is entirely unofficial) in order to try and maintain interest in the story in general.
So... Can anyone bring me up to speed on what is happening in the IC?

...The events that have transpired IC bear a level of significant detail that cannot by adequately summarized without cogent active collaboration from everyone that was involved. I suggest everyone chips in with the events they themselves are most intimately involved with until we have a loose puzzle piece collage of the overall setting.

As for me: The lost Ennedi homeworld has been miraculously rediscovered after being lost for eighty million years, with remarkably intact planetary infrastructure and a starbase. It is being hailed as the greatest archeological find in the galaxy in over 200,000 years. The Straylight Institute recently formed the Ennedi Restoration Committee (henceforth E.R.C.) between itself, the Federation of Sol, the Ryukyuan Empire, and the seventh mercenary division of the GNT. The E.R.C. raced to Enned in order to secure the system before scavengers, raiders, and other forces arrived to loot the place. While establishing control over the area, an Azu ship dropped in uninvited and attempted to land, with the captain issuing a threat to Straylight that they would glass half the planet's surface along with all the GNT personnel there if their vessel was attacked or otherwise interfered with. SI's ship responded by performing an emergency FTL jump to position itself between the Azu vessel and the planet, and the Federation has launched an attack on the Azu ship. Meanwhile, on the ground the clandestine Fourth Division of the GNT has intentionally reactivated long-dormant automated defenses in an isolated district that are dismantling several infantry teams of the Seventh division, and in response to the Azu's presence a capital ship belonging to the Fourth division has entered the system as well with an unknown agenda.
Hmm... the Rissan are in the 60's.

Boring.

Post.
Hey Darkwolf, in your NS it says a hundred millennium, in your first post it says a hundred million years. A millennium is only a thousand years.

A minor nitpick. Just correct whichever one doesn't match what you had in mind.
If they don't show up soon, just say that you drove their forces out of Sol. Up your perimeter defense, give a few rounds on the political circuit with people shouting for aggression and defense simultaneously, and proceed as you were. No muss, no fuss. I think everyone can agree it isn't an unreasonable expectation that you should be able to repel an attack on your Home System.
Enned System
Letona's Gaze

When the captain entered the bridge of the surveyor vessel, he found Professor Shiru at the entrance. She immediately grabbed him by the arm and insistently dragged him over to his tactical overview station, where the message from Jia-Jio was displayed.

"The Azu." He started, equal measures of anger and dismay crossing his face and twisting into an approximation of a snarl. "Professor, I know these aliens. It was a long time ago and I was only the helmsman back then, but this Jia-Jio is not bluffing. If the Federation or Empire attack that behemoth with their drones, it will fire up that engine of its and the crown blast alone will be enough to vaporize the GNT's base camp and everything else for hundreds of kilometers."

"Then tell the Federation and Empire to stand down until these Azu can confer with their superiors!" Shiru's voice was a low and strained hiss. "We cannot risk either the personnel on the ground or the ruins themselves."

"Ha!" The captain snorted. "Professor, we do not have time to play diplomacy with the Azu here. Even if we wanted to entertain them, the Federation and Empire almost certainly will not. Their strike craft will be in range in less than two minutes and their leadership is going to argue with us. We don't have the time. Everyone on that planet is as good as dead, so we may as well issue an order to the GNT forces on the ground to evacuate immediately."

"Absolutely not! We simply cannot permit this to happen!" Shiru shouted at the captain, slamming on the tactical interface with her right arm. "That infrastructure is the single greatest historical and archaeological find in more than two hundred thousand years! If we let this lunatic alien eradicate half of the surface, the blow to xenoarcheology will generate shockwaves across multiple generations! It will be the largest catastrophe and the biggest loss of information since the advent of the Blendecs! I am telling you, we must do SOMETHING..." She turned to glare at the massive vessel filling the viewscreen.

"...Is the FTL Drive functional?" She asked quietly, her eyes narrowed.

"It's still warm from when we arrived and has been prepped due to the shipwide alert, but using it this soon will cause it to blow itself out. It will take weeks to repair and replace." The Captain said cautiously, knowing exactly where the conversation was heading and searching for arguments against that route.

"Do it. We can requisition parts from the Feds. A burnt out FTL Drive is nothing compared to the loss of half the planet's surface and the GNT personnel on the ground." Shiru said, turning back to the captain and giving him a stern look.

"Professor, if it were me in her place, even if we jumped in front of the ship I would still blast us, the planet, and the basecamp. In which case, we would die along with them and this entire outing will have been a complete waste." The captain argued.

"No. She won't. I don't care who these Azu are, if they use those engines on us and the basecamp, they'll start an interstellar war with the Federation and Empire. It would be a political death knell. Nobody is that callous."

The captain hesitated. From what he knew of the incidents at Anuku, in all cases the Azu had only attacked those who had struck at them first. That had been a long time ago though, and any number of things could have changed since then. For all he knew the Azu shot any and all alien vessels on sight. But...

He glanced at Jia-Jio's message again.

...I will require proof of your integrity...
Jia-Jio

The captain reached out to the tactical console and switched on one of his bridge officers' lines. "Helm," The single word was shaky, but the captain's next words were clear and firm. "Engage emergency FTL. Position the Letona's Gaze between the planet and the Azu vessel."

The Watchman's Eye

Jia-Jio's neurological implant again displayed a frenzy of alerts as a ship appeared directly in front of the Watchman's main exhaust, setting off proximity alarms and warnings of abrupt FTL transition nearby. Seconds later, another message was sent to her from Letona's Gaze...Which the Watchman's sensors confirmed was now between the planet and it.
