Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

@ArkmageddonCat: Looking forward to it!
@ArkmageddonCat: There's definitely still room.
Yes! It was going well! It looked like her new recruits were highly receptive to the idea of the challenges that she was putting forth! Aaah, Lila was so excited she almost wanted to start bouncing up and down! Except that wasn't exactly a good move in terms of giving out the right impression, so the dragonblood restrained herself and did her best to try and make her intro count!

"There's all kinds of people in Nova Terra!" she declared, eagerly. "Amazing warriors, giants of incredible size, I'm certain the both of you can find just what you're looking for!"

Yes, yes yes, she was roping them in! Now all she-

... She...

...

Velktlthrih and Augis has just revealed a great deal more then she had ever wanted the champions to learn about right now.

"..."

Lila's entire body seemed to sag in an instant, her tail drooping. No... she wanted to get them wrapped up in things before clarifying! It wasn't as if these people would be turned off by the danger in challenges, right? And they definitely didn't need to know her personal motivation yet! What if they thought Silver Sun was too pathetic?

"... Whyyyyyy..." she practically moaned, her body drooping forward, "L-let me at least show them what a challenge is like before thaaaaaat..."

@HereComesTheSnow: Ah, yeah. You can probably figure out why I was reluctant to shut it down and reboot, but I think this is coming along swimmingly.

You'll get some peeks at some stuff I'm planning reading the old version, of course. ^^;
@jdh97: Sorry I didn't make it clearer. ^^;
@jdh97: Um, for some clarification, Fanilly outright just went through and picked out all the knights who she was taking with her to the ball. ^^; Which was intended to be all the player characters, because otherwise some people would get left out of the current arc. I apologize if I didn't make this clear. ^^;
oops
Okay waited long enough. Update incoming tomorrow at the latest.
"... Of course not," responded Lord Velbrance, noticeably growing somewhat more wary at the appearance of the vampiric Paladin as he spoke. "Saints are few and far between, are they not? And so it takes exceptionally rare capability to even approach one, does it not? I was simply attempting to see if the Knight-Captain felt she was on that level."

Even though Fanilly wasn't certain what the goal of the comments was, she could tell that Lord Velbrance was most certainly not asking any of this in good faith. But it was overwhelming, she hadn't been prepared for this. She'd wanted to try and... and do anything but get into a war of words with a noble with ill intentions. She didn't even know what Lord Velbrance's goal was, she had barely spoken with him as a child all of once.

"Besides, crushing some thieves is only-"

Being cut off by Gillian's minor tirade brought the Lord to silence once more. Fanilly, too, stared with wide eyes as she heard Gillian's words. A saint was no better? Ah... what did she say to all this...?

"..." For a few moments, the nobleman was silent.

And then he chuckled.

"Really? Are all the knights under your command so irreverent?" he commented, "To think, you adhere to such an old tradition and yet your reverence is so thin? An order founded by a saint and yet you care nothing for sainthood?"

He smirked.

"Perhaps this really is too much for poor Danbalion to manage... well, I wish you good luck regardless!"

With that, he began to turn to leave...

"Oh, that sounds ever so exciting!" cried the first girl excitedly, almost bouncing in place as she did, her drill-curled hair looking like a pair of springs. It was quite clear that the idea of this great feat, this combat with such a ferocious man who called himself the Bandit King, was appealing to the girls.

At least... to was appealing to two of them. The youngest of the three seemed decidedly uninterested. It wasn't as if she didn't think it was a good thing. Rather, she was simply looking away slightly as if she didn't want to hear about it.

When Fleuri added to the story, the girls seemed to be in total awe. With the exception of the youngest, at least.

"Fell a tree in a single blow... no armor..." repeated the second girl slowly, as if the words had initially failed to register to her. In fairness, such a thing was stunning to hear about for anyone. It was clear that the Bandit King had been some abnormal warrior of extreme capability, after all. "Was... was he some kind of beast? A fallen divine like the Witch-Queen?!"

The youngest girl stared incredulously at her.

"The Witch-Queen? He was a bandit who had too many muscles," she said, simply, "Don't be silly..."

"That might be going a little far, Angenese," commented the first girl, scratching the back of her head with an awkward laugh, "The Witch-Queen, really, eh-heheh..."

"Well, no, not her... she was killed so long ago, and even if she was still around she looks like a little girl now, right?" asked Angenese.

This earned a heavy sigh from the youngest girl.

"You really believe that old story...?"

"They could be true!" declared Angenese, defiantly, "Besides, if he was so strong, maybe he really was a fallen divine! Wouldn't that make the story even more amazing?!"

She turned to the two knights excitedly.

"Tell us more! Do you think he was a fallen divine?!"

"I don't think he was a fallen divine... but I really want to hear more! How did you overcome such a monstrous bandit?!" asked the first girl, as well.

The third simply sipped her drink.

A fallen divine... Of course, there was no way Jeremiah was one. He was a mortal man, who had died like one. A servant of the gods who had descended to the world after its creation, who had rejected their own origin and became an opponent to those who dwelt within it, would never have died so swiftly. Besides, what would a fallen divine even be doing in such a place?

It was absurd to think about.
