Appearance Details
J.J. Reyes stands at six foot even, fairly tall – but there are definitely those who are taller than him, especially considering his aspirations to one day play for the NBA, a business where athletes in his position are a few inches higher than he is. Ethnically speaking, he has a diverse background thanks to his grandparents putting the Dominican Republic and South Africa behind them to find new life in the streets of America. His parents are respectively Dominican-American and African-American. J.J. is by his nature a passive and tolerant individual and this is reinforced by his choice of clothing, how he chooses to express himself, and his lack of caring about appearance. In fact, the only significant fashion choice that he is adamant about is his choice in footwear, particularly those endorsed by Dwayne Wade. Beyond this, J.J. is about what you’d expect of an athletic guard who has been making waves as a future prospect with a long basketball career ahead of him.

Upbringing Synopsis
Dr. James Reyes met Mariah Ikedieze at a cultural benefit twenty-four years ago, it’s been love at first sight ever since. Their life in Manhattan produced two children and for the most part has been the most normal it can be for a family of wealth and creativity. J.J. himself has never had much of an issue with his family, though their determined and over-completive side has been one that has always unnerved him. But as such is expected when his parents are the likes of an internationally acclaimed neurosurgeon with a long career of recognition and a nationally recognized artist and pianist who has her hand in several major music labels in the United States. J.J. and his sister aren’t exactly irrelevant, though both have often taken the insistence of competition a bit too far at times. In the last few years, J.J. and Maya have come out as recognized prospects in their fields (J.J. as a basketball player and Maya as a pianist), though with the death of their paternal grandmother, Dr. Reyes has decided to move the family back to his hometown and enroll them in the best school in the area. 

Now J.J. has to adapt to a new team of players of the game and all of the classmates who he has no idea who is who. He is not as socially capable as his younger sister.
