Always on his person is a somewhat sloppily handcrafted bracelet of twine and plastic beads. Almost never missing from his left wrist, Zachary displays this accessory proudly regardless of any teasing it might bring to him. P e r s o n a l i t y Zachary is often misunderstood as meek or shy due to his classmates rarely hearing him speak up. In fact, neither of these is true. Although socially awkward with an aversion to party atmospheres, he is, for the most part, confident and strong-willed. His general distaste for the teenage caste system present in high school lends to his relative silence during school hours. Instead, Zach observes. He watches and listens to those around him, taking in a steady stream of information both small and large. Although no stranger to the mocking comments of his peers, young Zachary has never let harsh words affect him. Being raised in a household of three sisters has lent quite well to tolerance and near-immunity of juvenile cruelty and sarcasm. Zach has distanced himself from others in the school, imposing a self-exile of sorts and relegating him to a loner status. If asked, Zachary would claim he prefers it this way. A defense mechanism to shield himself from being hurt by others. Alone at night, though, when he's left with nothing but his own thoughts, Zach is forced to be honest with himself and face the loneliness in his heart. |
C h a r a c t e r S y n o p s i s
The Keene family is, for the most part, typical of middle-class New England households. His father a car salesman, his mother a secretary. Zachary has two older sisters, Jennifer aged 20 and Alice aged 17, as well as one younger, Marie aged 12. All of whom share a pastime of relentlessly pestering him.
When he was younger, Zach was not closed-off and guarded. He was a boisterous and adventurous child who loved to surround himself with others. When he was five, the Keene family moved from a nearby town to Crestwood Hollow. His new neighbor, a young girl around his age, Vanessa, quickly caught his attention and the two became fast friends. For over seven years the pair were nearly inseparable, their parents often joking that they were joined at the hip and would one day marry. During the height of their bonding youth, Vanessa made a friendship bracelet for Zachary, who in turn made one for her, with the promise that they would never drift apart.
Their final year of middle school, in the Summer leading up to their freshman year, however, things quickly changed and Vanessa abruptly ended their friendship. Despite attempts to rectify whatever mistake he must have made to drive his closest friend away, the distance between them only grew over their first year in high school. Vanessa would seemingly blossom, surrounding herself with numerous new friends and acquaintances. Meanwhile, Zachary, hurt and feeling betrayed, would shutter himself off from those around him, choosing to self-isolate in order to never feel that way again.
Still, as painful as losing Vanessa as a friend had been two years ago, the news of her death had been crushing. No amount of emotional walls he had erected could shield him from this loss. Confusion, anger, resentment. A vast array of feelings he had been suppressing now wash over him.

This effectively grants him the abilities of whichever creature he synchronizes with, taking on their respective traits. This works in a proportional manner meaning even the smallest of lifeforms can benefit him greatly. Such as mimicking an ant gifting him with enough strength to lift over ten times his own body weight.
While he is able to mimic these animal abilities, Zach is unable to take on their forms or physical characteristics. While he may borrow the agility and speed of a leopard, he would possess neither the elongated teeth nor claws of the beast. However, any capabilities inherent in a creature only due to their physical form - such as the flight of a bird requiring wings - Zachary is still able to imitate. In this case, he would, though unknown means, be granted self-propelled flight.
This hyperhuman ability is limited in that it can only synchronize with a single lifeform at a time, and only with one within a several hundred-foot radius. Similarly, utilizing this power properly requires conscious focus on the life around him. Being unaware of his hyperhuman status once this state is first achieved, Zachary's use of this ability will be entirely unconscious and random. This will present itself as a visibly unreliable, shifting powerset, potentially causing both confusion and concern as to stability.

Hey all, with just a few days left I've started going through the sheets and I just wanted to clarify two things. I realize there might be some confusion with the OOC but I cannot stress enough that your character will not have or be aware of their powers at the beginning of the roleplay. They will be gained in the first little bit of the IC and while I know this might seem to contradict some of the OOC, there is a reason for it.
Secondly, due to the way I intend to bring the group together, I can't help but emphasize the importance of your character having at the very least a casual relationship with Vanessa. Since the group will be brought together for a grief group, it's crucial your character knew Vanessa well enough to actually be bothered. Any sheet that only has a passing relationship with the character won't be considered to the same extent as sheets with a stronger and more defined relationship.
Now that all said, if you're happy with your sheet and don't think it requires any edits then I encourage you not to change it. I'm not going to name names or single anyone out here, I just wanted to make a general announcement to ensure everyone is on the same page and has been given the same advantages before the deadline on Monday.

Character Synopsis ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ Jennifer was born Halloween '71 to Micheal and Barbara Vandermeyer. Micheal, her father, worked in a bank, and her mother made a good home for her husband and new daughter. The family diligently attended church every Sunday, and many other days besides, and had a simple, satisfactory life, if somewhat humdrum. Micheal was able to adequately provide any material needs, and Barbara wanted little besides; they were a simple couple, devout in their beliefs. Jennifer first met Vanessa at 3 years old after the Vandermeyers moved to Crestwood following her father receiving a promotion, sent to the city to run the new branch the bank had just opened there. The Bordeaux's were their new neighbours, and little Jennifer was delighted to have a new friend so quickly after what little life she'd gotten a grip on had been so rapidly uprooted. Vanessa and Jennifer quickly became the firmest of friends in the way only growing little girls can manage, and their bond blossomed further as they entered education, being the two best friends either girl had had in their short lives thusfar. As they grew, so did their parents; while the Bordeaux's were a well-respected family in Crestwood, Jennifer's parents picked up a reputation for being overly preachy and judgmental; while Jennifer herself had stopped attending church since she turned 10, her parents were still devout, perhaps even zealous believers at times, and in their deepening age relied more and more on their faith as a cornerstone of their values, and their daughter as the cornerstone of their future. Jennifer began to slowly realize her life was being planned and curated for her, and the seed of resentment found root in her core. Jennifer turned to music, as did so many young girls and boys; the world around her was alive with all kinds of new sounds, but where Vanessa, her best friend, fell in love with Disco and the elating, motivating sounds found therein, Jennifer was drawn to the messy, defiant catharsis of the still-young Punk Rock movement. Punk reveled in sticking two fingers up and damn the consequences, a philosophy Jennifer adopted with frightening speed and ease; everything became about rebellion. Jennifer forged a new identity in punk: Vandermeyer no longer, she was Jenny Venom, and she used this persona to divorce herself from her family's reputation, and her parent's plans for her. As Jennifer and Vanessa approached high school, they had drifted apart significantly; Jennifer had fallen in with her new spiky-haired, leather-wearing clique, and had derided Vanessa's love of Disco, spurning Vanessa's attempts to reconnect and rekindle the friendship. Vanessa kept herself graceful enough to never retaliate, allowing Jennifer the space to explore this new self she had constructed. Vanessa's death shattered Jenny's world, despite the distance she had deliberately made between her and her once-closest friend. The tragedy cast into harsh light exactly what life is and can be, and what it means when it is taken away; but these revelations have only triggered a further retreat into the persona. Jennifer was a little girl, her life being lived for her, path forcibly laid out ahead of her, naive and foolish. Jenny Venom is fearless, and tough, and survives everything. Hyper-Human Abilities ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ Jennifer's hype-gene has mutated specifically alongside her immune system and fight-or-flight response. When presented with physical trauma or sudden terror, before adrenaline floods her blood supply, a unique secondary 'hype-hormone' is secreted from her adrenal glands that blocks the receptors at her nerve endings, completely shutting down the nervous system pain response and instead replacing any incoming trauma signals with a direct signal to the endocrine system to produce further and further adrenaline. The mutated hype-adrenaline then bonds with her muscles and completely replaces the aerobic/anaerobic respiration function, eliminating lactic acid buildup and allowing indefinite function without exhaustion. Finally, the bonded 'hype-hormone' and adrenaline floods her skull cavity and passes through the pia mater into the blood vessels of the brain, and signals the activation of an extremely intense, subconscious form of auto-biokinesis, allowing her low-level brain functions to take over the immune system response and rewire muscles, organs, blood supply systems and bones on-the-fly to adapt to endure any and all incoming trauma without ceasing function. Once trauma has ceased or has been escaped, the 'hype-hormone' stops signalling, and the mutated adrenaline floods the immune system entirely, expediting recovery of injury, the body drawing adrenaline from its various appendages and organs working from the bodily extremes inward in order to necessitate quickened recovery while allowing maximum up-time of the unconscious biokinesis to aid natural physical recovery, before the adrenaline is drawn from the meninges entirely and disseminated as the final healing 'booster'. All these processes combined result in Jennifer being able to sustain intense physical trauma well above and beyond what would be typically fatal for a human, without feeling pain, losing motor or organ function, or slowing or shutting down - and then being able to recover from the trauma to full-functioning capacity at an increased rate after-the-fact. |

Thus, Astrid lived the popular girl life with the nicest clothes and shoes. She enjoyed everything from morning ice coffees to shopping sprees at the mall; from milkshakes on her balcony to driving fast in her family’s convertible. While she glorified this materialistic trait to herself, she was simultaneously very involved with her family. She loved them all and was made sure that her gratitude was expressed. While Astrid means little harm, she is naive to the consequences of her actions. Not the ones that would come back at her, but the ones that would come back at others. This created her subconsciously selfish and manipulative traits. Still, she was very likable in high school, even by the faculty. Astrid was polite even if it came from a totally fake side of her. Formalities were second-nature to her, and communication and public speaking was easy. But, as she experiences her first devastation, she finds difficulty trying to find ways to cope with it. While Astrid may seem like she’s prepared for the common changes of life, she is actually naive. |

Astrid grew up in one of the wealthiest cul de sacs in the southern side of Crestwood Hollow. There, her bedroom balcony looked over an extravagant garden with rolling hills along the horizon. Silken sheets; baby blue, velvet curtains; a king-sized bed adorned with decorative pillows and a sleigh frame all marked the spoils of a rich man’s daughter. Astrid thrived in this mcmansion of hers, but had the added luxury of enjoying a beach house that hosted one of the biggest docks of Crestwood Hollow. There, her father’s renowned fishing boat was docked, just beside the yacht they most recently purchased.
Astrid had little to no worries at all since she had everything at her fingertips; and if she didn’t, she had daddy’s money to buy it for her. Her beauty came from her mother, an ex-fashion model who decided against pursuing a Hollywood career since she had Astrid’s father at her doorstop. Many would assume it was from his riches that she went falling into his arms, but the hidden truth was that they were one in the same in a department that was frowned upon by society.
As one would assume a rich family’s secret to be dark and twisted, it was actually innocent, yet abnormal. Astrid’s father was a hydrokinetic hyperhuman while her mother had weather manipulation powers. Astrid was never made aware of the extent of their powers, but the existence of their identity was made known to her and her three younger siblings. Together, they found success in their fishing company and never experienced any sort of financial issues since.
As Astrid comes of age, they’re waiting to see if the hype-gene had successfully passed down, but that would be the least of Astrid’s worries. Instead, she relishes in the high school atmosphere, enjoying the view from the top of the food chain. As head cheerleader, she happily claimed the title of one of the hottest chicks to walk the halls. But such a time was short lived as she was finally challenged by one individual in particular, Vanessa Bordeaux. When Vanessa entered highschool, her beauty matched that of Astrid’s, but it also created a nemesis within Astrid’s eyes. And as any catty highschooler would react, Astrid befriended her with only ill-intentions behind it. Astrid tore her down from within, swaying her to become less favored than Astrid and keeping Vanessa one step behind her. Astrid’s primary goal at this point was to have Vanessa living in her shadow, never to see the true light of peak popularity. But an unexpected turn of events came fast, popping up loudly with sinister volumes. Vanessa went missing, and shortly after was found brutally murdered.
The result of this shook Astrid in uncomfortable waves. Astrid began to attack herself for this situation, finding big responsibility in her death since she kept such a fake and false friendship with her. Astrid’s intentions were never genuine, and that she regrets most. Had she taken her under her wing properly, perhaps Vanessa wouldn’t have met her death in that devastating way. Since this moment, Astrid hasn’t been the bright and beautiful popular girl that people identified her as. She took her death hard and now roams the halls in a despairing self-hatred.

But such a time was short lived as she was finally challenged by one individual in particular, Vanessa Bordeaux. When Vanessa entered highschool, her beauty matched that of Astrid’s, but it also created a nemesis within Astrid’s eyes. And as any catty highschooler would react, Astrid befriended her with only ill-intentions behind it. Astrid tore her down from within, swaying her to become less favored than Astrid and keeping Vanessa one step behind her. Astrid’s primary goal at this point was to have Vanessa living in her shadow, never to see the true light of peak popularity. But an unexpected turn of events came fast, popping up loudly with sinister volumes. Vanessa went missing, and shortly after was found brutally murdered.
The result of this shook Astrid in uncomfortable waves. Astrid began to attack herself for this situation, finding big responsibility in her death since she kept such a fake and false friendship with her. Astrid’s intentions were never genuine, and that she regrets most. Had she taken her under her wing properly, perhaps Vanessa wouldn’t have met her death in that devastating way. Since this moment, Astrid hasn’t been the bright and beautiful popular girl that people identified her as. She took her death hard and now roams the halls in a despairing self-hatred.

Temperature Control: Matt is able to manipulate the flow of thermal energy within any solid object he can see or touch. His power is greatly increased when he can directly touch something, even allowing him to melt and reshape metal or flash-freeze organic matter. Farther away, his grasp on temperature becomes more and more tenuous.
Perhaps because of his abilities, he has developed some resistance to temperature beyond that of an ordinary human being. Energy Projection and Manipulation:
Victor's able to generate, store, project, absorb, and manipulate energy. Or specifically, heat energy. His ability will take several shapes throughout his development. Thus, the applications and uses for his powers will vary with each stage of his mutation once his hype-gene becomes active. Victor is heatproof and cannot catch on conventional fire. He'll be able to learn to absorb the energy from a fire.
Optical Energy Projection And Manipulation, 'Heat Vision':
Victor fires energy from his optical nerves. His iris will begin to glow and soon his pupils will turn bright red. Energy will emit from his eyes at varying levels of heat and concussive power, much like all of his other blasts. With practice, he'll be able to manipulate the heat blasts with great dexterity, not just their heat and power, but the size and even decide on a complex path once fired, such as bending the beam mid-air. His optical blasts are strongly regulated by his emotions, anger makes his eyes burn hot and extreme explosions of rage will do the same to anything he looks at.
Limb Based Energy Projection, 'Hand Blast':
A more conventional and less complex use of his powers is firing beams from his body, commonly his hands. They're weaker in power than the ones from his eyes but offer greater flexibility. While his vision's harder to aim, he can fire a blast from his finger with bullet-like accuracy.
Complex Plasma Generation, 'Destructo-Disc':
What happens when you're immune to heat and can superheat the air and other materials until it ionizes? You end up with the ability to create, form, and manipulate shapes of superheated material. This material can be turned into weapons or defensive structures. Melting metal on touch or cutting through obstacles or foes at will. This is the most complex use of Victor's powers and requires amounts of electromagnetic energy he in most settings cannot generate himself.

Victor is 14 minutes older than Vanessa. And while as twins, that's arbitrary, it's something he always has taken seriously. He's an introvert who always had a hard time making friends, Vanessa was a social butterfly, forcing him into the social scene by 'protecting' her. Even though Vanessa's thrown more punches than Victor has in order to defend the other.
They shared everything growing up, baths to toys. They had their joint bike that Vanessa broke one summer and Victor had to fix.
They started theater together in their freshmen year, a hobby that both of the twins truly enjoyed which gave Vanessa a starring roll in a local commercial, and Victor the sporty nickname 'faggot'.
During the freshman year, Vanessa gravitated towards the social circles while Victor would rather stay in the artistic side of things. He did music, did his homework, and wrote poetry, only dragging her brother out to parties so he'd 'keep an eye on her' as their parents always told him to.
The sibling rivalry was strong in other aspects, though. Vanessa was better at track and field, Victor was better at baseball. Vanessa beat him in Super Mario and she was far better at social studies than him, but he had better grades in math and literature. Their father wanted Victor to become a rocket scientist like him, and Vanessa to pursue a career in acting. Their father died when the twins were 14. The trauma and pain of losing their dad's something they bonded over and it made them far closer. Relying on each other for the really nasty shit life throws at them.

BACKSTORY
The Day The Earth Stood Still. Or like Kevin likes to call it, the day he was born. Normally being born during a total lunar eclipse would have been something to brag about, but it was also the night his mother died. The doctors were in the middle of performing a cesarean section when the blackout causing storm hit the planet. He had successfully made it into the world, but it took too long for the hospital's backup generators to turn on to save his mother.
The death of his mother coupled with the Dark Eclipse was enough to change Kevin's originally kindhearted father. He lost his heart and was left with a painful reminder of the darkest time of his life. Despite this he had a rather normal upbringing for the first few years. Strange things seemed to happen around the house and to Kevin specifically in his developing years. He was never quite sure if his father ever took notice because by the time he was five he started to develop a slight drinking problem and remained aloof to whatever Kevin had going on.
This lack of supervision forced him to become resourceful and adventurous just to save his wandering mind from boredom. And although it's a small town Crestwood Hollow had a lot of things for a young kid to get into. One of those things just happened to be trouble. And a lot of it. By the time he entered middle school he was known as the town troublemaker, but he didn't feel like that was fair. Handed his cards in life you'd do a lot to not die from boredom too. His father on the other hand didn't understand his train of thought and decided now was as good of a time as any to start disciplining him. The only problem was that his idea of discipline was found at the bottom of a bottle and the end of his fist. Kevin wasn't sure if it was because he made them the talk of the town elderly or because he started to look a lot like his mother. He couldn't confirm it but he was sure it was the latter or a combination of both. Personally it didn't matter to him either way. His dad was just going to be an asshole and if he was going to get beat regardless he might as well continue to have fun.
The beatings stopped the summer after eighth grade. Kevin had experienced a sizable growth spurt that put him closer to his father's height. With the fight potentially more even his father started to back off but was still rather verbally abusive. So when Kevin started high school at Mather Memorial he decided to use any excuse that he could to stay away from home. This led him down the path of school sanctioned extracurriculars. Most teachers and club advisors heard of his reputation from the middle school. That permanent record really did follow you. He was ready to give up all hope until he was approached by the track coach who had heard how he was basically turned down by every club or program in the school. He told Kevin to put that athletic build of his to good use start running towards something and not away.
Kevin was almost a natural. Running came easy to him and his stamina was exceptional. In his sophomore year his coach convinced him to join the Cross Country team as well giving him another reason to stay away from home. He took up the offer and started bringing the school victory after victory. As the years passed he buried his delinquent past and even the teachers saw and acknowledged his growth. Some even feeling ashamed for turning him away when he so obviously wanted to change.
His school life had improved but his home life was still pretty shit. When senior year started Kevin spent more time at school after his practices let out and either continued training or just wandered around the field and campus. He met Vanessa one fateful night after winning another cross country meet. The team was out celebrating, but he wanted to be alone. His victories started feeling hollow. He had no one he could genuinely share them with. His team was cool and all, but he didn't really feel connected to them. That no matter what he went through with them he could always feel that he was different. And not in the High School social circle kind of way. OTHER SKILLS
- Running (Stamina): Kevin has spent his entire High School career on the Track and Cross Country teams at Mather Memorial. He's built up a lot of stamina over the years and toned his already athletic body to near perfection for his age and size.
- Resilient: Kevin can take a beating better than most. His middle school years prepared him for the adult world of heavy fists and drunk men. Now he has no problem taking on the attacks of those his age and can stand up to stronger assailants. Even though he never fought his father back he knows how to fight back and won't just let someone that's not related to him beat on him.
WEAKNESSESS
- Loveless Child: Kevin has never felt the love of a parent and his grandparents died before he was born. He grew up not really having anyone to turn to and in some ways it stunted his emotional growth.
- Permanent Delinquent: Although Kevin has made a considerable effort to change his reputation around the town the old bags never forget a first impression. So whenever he walks around town some people still assume that he's up to no good.
RELATIONSHIP TO VANESSA
Vanessa was one of the only people that Kevin truly felt connected to and he hates that their friendship or whatever it was, was as short lived as it was. She was the only person he opened up to about his mother and how his life has been with his father. That he felt lost in this world and that something inside of him was fighting to break free. Vanessa understood all too well the latter of what he was feeling. She had been feeling the same way and the first answer to her many questions came to her one day. She felt as if Kevin had the same answer to his questions and on their final rendezvous she decided to show him her ability. And for the first time in his life Kevin didn't feel the urge to run. He felt home. Unfortunately that feeling was short lived as the next day it was announced that Vanessa was dead and he had a feeling it was his fault.

| xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 𝑽𝒊𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒆𝒔: Autumn likes to think of herself in achievements – she must be smart, since she won several science fairs; she must be a good friend, as others’ give her praises; she must be a favored student, as teachers are constantly asking her to make runs for them. She only perceives herself through frivolous physical things and takes them at face-value. Because she cannot see between lines easily, Autumn tends to follow societal rules. She’s polite, punctual, and her whole life revolves around her academics. 𝑽𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒔: There’s something angry in Autumn. She’s a smoldering flame that can’t be snuffed and it affects the way she sees the world. Autumn has so much pent up aggression that she throws tantrums, hurtles insults at friends, would even pull her hair out. Autumn feels all her emotions intensely – happiness, sadness, excitement, anger. She’s untethered, manic even, and her moods swing unpredictably. Hot temper aside, she can be snooty and pretentious because of her academic success. Autumn tries not to be, but she looks down on those who don’t succeed academically as academics is all she focuses on. | xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx    | xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx FREQUENCY MANIPULATION 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒕𝒉𝒔: The manipulation of frequency entails the power to increase or decrease the frequency in which things happen. She could slow the ticks of a clock, speed up the rotation of a coin, or mess with the frequencies of a radio. In short, Autumn manipulates the number of occurrences of a repeating event per unit of time. In a clock, she can manipulate the amount of times the gears turn and make it slower or faster. With a coin, she can speed up the rotation, and on a radio she can plug up the sound frequencies. 𝑾𝒆𝒂𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔: Autumn’s power is not easily applied and Autumn often has to act smart and strategic with it. She cannot change the frequency of an object that has a frequency of 0; at least one occurrence of an event much have happened for her to control the frequency. A coin that hasn’t spun cannot have it’s rotation sped up, a clock that isn’t working cannot be slowed, and an unplugged radio cannot be messed with. |
𝑼𝒑𝒃𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈:
Autumn Mallory Miracle is the daughter of Roger and Gloria Miracle. It is said that Autumn was a dutiful daughter, even from the womb; she had come to the world so quiet the doctors feared she was stillborn. Her younger years were spent indoors under the careful eye of her mother, an emotionally fragile woman who fretted over her first (and only) born child like most mothers. Autumn’s father was a military man, having joined with the navy at a young age and stuck with it throughout the years. He was strict, expecting his every words to be followed and Autumn was quick to bow to his orders.
It was tough, being a military child. They moved every couple of years and Autumn had always been particularly bad at making friends. At the tender age of eleven, Autumn decided her social life was doomed from the start and focused on her studies instead. She had a few friends, of course, and wasn’t a complete loner – but, when it came to playing or studying, she chose the latter.
Life with her family wasn’t just A’s and orders, though. Her relationship with her mother had always been a precious connection, and Autumn begun to register her mother’s strange behavior when she was ten. It was strange to her, the way her mother worried herself to the point of vomiting and sometimes would lie in bed crying all day and night. Autumn did her best to cheer up her mother, tried to make her mother proud with her grades or put on a shadow puppet show (a strange, niche skill Autumn possessed). At a certain point, when Autumn was thirteen and had just moved to a new town – Crestwood Hollow – her mother’s erratic behavior had worsened, and her father reluctantly placed her in a mental ward. He retired to stay in the town with her mother and got a pencil pusher job as an accountant.
Autumn felt alone without her mother. She wouldn’t describe her relationship with her father as distant, but she didn’t share the same connection with him that she did with her mother. Maybe it was the absence of her mother that gave bloom to the darkness in her chest that wouldn’t go away, and slowly it began to make sense to her. Autumn was always considered a crybaby – easy to push to tears when she was in trouble, or when she got a grade she wasn’t satisfied with – but her behavior went beyond that. She became irritable, confused, and felt as if she lost her identity. The slight nervousness she got from social interaction became a screaming in her mind and her emotions became turbulent. She chalked it up to puberty; she’s seventeen now and her emotions are stronger now than ever.
Autumn decides to do what she does best – bury herself in her studies and ignore everything else.

Autumn enjoyed Vanessa’s company and they could even be considered close friends, but Vanessa put more energy into their friendship than Autumn did. Vanessa constantly adapted herself to Autumn’s unmoving, stagnant self. Secretly, Autumn was jealous of Vanessa and spent a lot of their time together bitter and irritable. Still, Vanessa molded to Autumn’s jealousy and tried to become who Autumn needed – except, Autumn didn’t know what she needed, so how could Vanessa.
Maybe it was because of her confusion, her lack of self, that Autumn sought Vanessa’s affection and Vanessa tried to bend to Autumn’s whims. It started with innocent touches, became stolen kisses behind bookshelves and fumbling in the dark. Autumn doesn’t know why she did it, why she initiated this kind of relationship with Vanessa, but she knew it was unhealthy the way she relied on Vanessa’s touches without giving herself completely to Vanessa. She kept herself steely, vulnerable only physically and never letting Vanessa see her when she was out of control.
