My blade carries with it the harsh frost of the wintry winds. Dancing with the rage of a blizzard, its speed matches the transience of an icy petal.

Welcome traveler. I see you've stumbled upon my profile, nice to meet ya.

About Me
I'm just your average 9-5 schmuck. I do my work, pay my bills, and contribute what I can to society. Roleplaying
I originally joined this site several years back, having gotten my feet wet only recently at that point as an RPer. I was recommended this site by a pal of mine (@PaulHaynek) and joined a couple of his RPs. However, due to RL stresses I had to take a break from the world of RPing and took sometime for self-reflection. After a 2 year absence, I'm back in saddle and ready to further stretch my creative muscles. As for what roleplays I like, I enjoy anything action-oriented. I'm fine with any settings for the most part, though I'm more inclined toward the magical and sci-fi. Also, I've gained a sort of preference for RPs that allow users to play as multiple characters, but solo is fine either way. Here's a list to give a better idea of my tastes.

- Fantasy/medieval
- Dystopian
- Steampunk
- Sci-fi
- Apocalypse/Post-Apocalyptic
- Generally anything anime/manga related
- Adventure and Combat oriented
- Romance here and there is fine too

That's all for now, reader. If you decide to post an interest check for an RP idea, you just might find me posting a character profile ready to be reviewed. Don't be afraid to give me a shout if you'd like a Co-DM to bounce ideas off of as well.

Until then.

Eon Tower - Mid Morning
@PaulHaynek@ReusableSword@Inertia@Enkryption@Hammerman@FrogRFlowR

Arteus took a moment to look everyone over, taking note of Leon who decided to leave for the library. For the most part the newly gathered reavers were silent, simply ready for whatever task awaited them. It honestly surprised him a bit, perhaps some were nervous. No, he saw the looks in their eyes: they were prepared. This, at least, filled him with some reassurance. Of course, some of the attendees had some concerns they wanted to have addressed, some more personal than others. Understandable.

@Blaze Gamma
He turned to Aldin first, as his concern was the most personal. “Ah, yes, of course. Aldin, you’ve my promise that your mother is being provided the best care the Tower has to offer. That being said, please do visit her in the infirmary before you set out. You’ll find it further down the hall on the west wing when you exit this chamber. Our apothecary is tending to her now.” He then paused for a moment, the shift in his expression quite noticeable.

“As for what that man you passed in the hallway was alluding to…I’m afraid that’s a bit more complicated. We’ll go over that in a bit.”

The estranged elf Leon had left the room before he actually got to tell him where to find the library, but given his skill set Arteus figured that he could easily find it by himself.

@Polaris North @The Irish Tree
The questions posed by both Shavis and Hector were fair and understandable; he felt it would be best to address them both at once. “Good questions. The best direct answer I can give is that it depends on the nature of the work. Due to our position in relation to the Association and the simple nature of the work, jobs with a myriad of characteristics come across our desk. Some will be relatively easy and will require only a small group or can even be accomplished single-handedly. Others, however, will be very difficult and require a larger group to safely carry out. As for whether team assignments will be permanent or rotating, that’s something you’ll have to work out amongst yourselves. Within this group of fine magus, I understand that some of you know each other already, so perhaps more often than not you’ll want to sortie with them. Or maybe you’re the more outgoing and social type, and are enticed by building rapport with new people. Whatever the case may be, I’m hoping that you’ll make the best call when deciding which missions to take up.” He stopped to glance at Hector for a moment. “I understand that this may be different than what you’re used to, Hector, but I hope you can acclimate all the same.”

“Hmm, I was honestly expecting more questions out of all of you. But, I guess I should expect as much from a group as focused and resolute as the one before me.” The sage smiled at Tilnak, who only asked when they would begin. Arteus clasped his hands together, after which a peculiar shimmering sound filled the room. Before the team appeared a few images, perhaps generated by some sort of magic, that contained various information printed on them. Of note, they seemed to be marked with stars, some had more than others.

These are the current objectives that have been brought to our desk at this point in time. From here on, you can see any new requests posted in the main hall of the tower, but for convenience I’ll show them here for you”

"Naomi Schuller and Donovan Krausser are two key members of the Tower’s staff. Naomi serves as a researcher who specializes in the study of magical beasts and Donovan owns a firm that specializes in the research of apparitions. Both are wellsprings of knowledge, so if you’ve any questions about the aforementioned quests, I’d suggest talking with them before leaving."

"Now then, about the last one…"

“With all that said, decide what jobs you want to take and feel free to disembark when prepared. Feel free to reach out if you need anything. Some more of my friends are currently out handling some business of their own, but they should be back soon.” Arteus then vanished in a violet veil of light, leaving the newly formed party to their devices. They were now free to either choose a quest and be on their way, or they could perhaps speak with some of the staff mentioned earlier to gain some more insight into the respective job. They could even take some time to become more acquainted with the Tower if they wished, Arteus didn’t seem to be pressing them to take up the presented tasks.

“I don’t much like the fact that there’s a disruption in the ecosystem, it sounds like the Marshlands would be perfect for my fist mission.” It seems that Lapis had made her pick.

“Hmph, if you want to go splashing around in some dingy old bog, be my guest! Meanwhile, that 4 star mission certainly sounds promising.” Replied Evelyn

“When hell freezes over maybe.” Said Ruecian. “Like I’d ever let you anywhere near a place like that.”

“Excuse me??” Evelyn grew noticeably upset

“You literally graduated from the academy and received your license a few months ago, do I even need to explain this to you?”

“But-”

“That’s enough Lyn.” Roze interjected. “He is correct. You’ve never even seen a monster before and you’ve no experience in dealing with miasma. You will have to choose between the other two missions.”

“...Fine…” Evelyn said in a defeated tone. She thought for a moment, perhaps taking up the arms plant job could be lucrative. It was, after all, owned by a large firm.

“Then I’ll go to the magitech plant, I’m sure the firm would appreciate assistance from a genius like me.” And it seemed Evelyn made her choice as well.

@Silverstein
Leon found himself in the library, reviewing any pieces of information that could aid him and his allies in the coming trails.

“Is it just you who decided to drop by? Guess among the new recruits, only you have a sense for preparation. I can appreciate that.”

Leon would hear a sudden voice, turning to its source he would see it coming from a man with long black hair and a shady disposition. “Sorry, should probably introduce myself. Name’s Kiff, Kliff Luther, and I manage things here at the Eon Library. Nice to meet ya, think I might’ve heard about you before. Somethin’ about some dude wearing a mask fighting bad guys in the dead of night?” He chuckled a bit, though he was probably the only one amused at the moment.

“Regardless, if you’re looking for something that’ll help you with the current jobs, I would suggest looking up info in regards to aquatic beasts and how to deal with the effects of miasma. Two of the three jobs the head cheese had lined up for you will involve the aforementioned dangers. I’d personally recommend staying away from the latter for right now, though. At least until some of our stronger members get back.” His tone and demeanor were relaxed, yet his words still carried an underlying foreboding with them.

“As for the third excursion, ‘fraid there’s not much here that can help you. It involves the theft of state-of-the-art magitech gear that’s currently not on the market. The top brass wants to be hush-hush about the whole fiasco, but a fine gentleman named Donovan could probably tell you more about it if you’re curious. Or you could just go directly to the site and speak with the director yourself, up to you.”

Kiff then stared at Leon for a moment, as if examining him. Sitting straight up, his left hand was visible above the table, but his right hand was not. He then leaned forward, his chin resting on both his clasped hands. “Say, you have the look of a rogue. You know, you guys are free to use the library as you please. However, we’d prefer you all understand that it’s more of a give and take relationship. As in, generous donations of whatever you find out in the field every now and again would be most appreciated.” He sat forward in his chair, his eyes full of intent and desire. “I think you know where I’m going with this: if you decide to take up the issue at the magitech plant, say you find the perpetrators and obtain the gear back. I certainly wouldn’t mind it if in some way, one of those nifty tools ended up in your hands. Then say, you decided to donate it to the library in a fit of generosity~”

This man was quite the character it seemed. “Of course, it’s not like I’m demanding you do it or anything. I’m sure you’ll come across many treasures and wonders during your time here. But, I’d definitely make it worth your while if you did.” Kiff then looked off to the side, as if disturbed by something. “Umm…anyway, f-feel free to take what you need to prep and may the Scions bless you on your journey!” He said in a nervous tone, putting an abrupt end to their conversation.

Cogsfell Aftermath

A salvo of bullets echoed throughout the desolate guard station as Lucrecia did her part in covering her comrade. She was surprised to find that a little girl had managed to survive this hell. Unfortunately, the desecrated corpses that laid before her insinuated that she was the only one among them who did. Polina has used herself as a barrier to keep the girl in the red dress safe from the horde of demons advancing on them.

"Polina, we won't be able to stay here for long! As soon as we find any more survivors we need to find an opening and make a break for it!" She said to her comrade. A lone hellhound had broken through the bullet barrage and lunged itself at Lucrecia, its razor fangs bared and covered in drool. The maid instantly flipped one of guns to where the blade part stuck itself into the beast's chin, the other end srickimg out of its head. The creature struggled for a moment, but its body soon when limp. Lucrecia quickly threw the beast to the floor and stomped on its head, making a satisfying splatting sound.

"Lurido cane!" She snapped.
No worries, chief. We have plenty to keep ourselves busy.

Goes back to playing Sonic Frontiers and working retail a week before Black Friday.

I pray for your safety.

Stronghold

His plan uninterrupted, Shizuka's ice bolts hit their mark without issue. The crossbowmen yelped in pain as their hands completely froze over along with their weapons. "Apologies, gentlemen, but I'm afraid you won't be sniping at anyone at this point." He said, walking over to them. Taking his sheathed weapon off his side, he proceeded to bludgeoned both of their legs with it. Now unable to fight back, he also made sure they couldn't run away. "If you fella's have a moment, my comrade and I would like to ask you a few questions. We overheard a few of your friends talking about a woman who fell in love with one of your associates, and had even killed her whole family just to be with him. But it seemed that her love went unrequited, and she was abandoned. It hasn't been lost on me that my comrade and I may have been knowingly sucked into this farce, but we'd like to know the whole story."

He then turned his attention to Eula for a moment, noticing how easily she dispatched the remaining swordsman that tried to swarm her. Knocking them every which way with simple punches and kicks, kicking up dirt and debris in the process. Either that or subduing them with multiple torrents of projectile attacks, it seemed she had the situation under control. The remaining bandits throwing down their weapons and running away in a panicked frenzy only served to confirm this. Mission accomplished.

"Eula-san, that was well done! I trust you've no serious injuries, yes? Well, aside from the one on your arm..." He said, walking over with the two bandits he just got through tying up. "Could you watch this two louts for me? I want to check on that larger fellow, their leader. I think it's best we bring them back to the temple, we'll have them confirm with that woman the whole truth of the matter"

Phasing from view for a moment, Shizuka instantly appeared in the hole that was made by the leader sent flying. There he saw the brigand, lying belly up and the cannon ball off to the side. He immediately bound his arms and legs as well. "Up and at 'em, scoundrel." He said, kicking him out of the house and back into the fort clearing.

"Eula-chan, I believe it's safe to say that our business here is concluded. Time to head back and get some answers. Not to mention your arm would probably heal more efficiently off the field."

Terauchi Temple

Much to her chagrin, Kerry went ahead and aired out the business between her and her goblin lover. But, she did raise a brow at her and even Skarsneek decided to include Hinami as part of it.

"What are you all on about? Hinami is just my sister, not my sister wife! I'm actually rather selfish and don't like to share! Besides, Hinami's never even seen his member." As she made her rebuttal, she realized this may have started to make things awkward for her little sibling.

That was before she turned to see that Hianmi was too busy stuffing her face full of the food the temple had prepared. She could nothing but sigh at the whole situation. Seeing some of the other members still obsess over Takeshi situation, she decided to leave them to their devices. It did make her worry that what happened between him and Alice would further ostracize him from his people, and the possibility of his execution was enough to change her mind on the matter entirely. She certainly didn't save him on the beach those nights ago just to have him be killed by his own people.

"Io-chan, just so you're aware I'm also a spell caster, and you look unsure about how to approach the situation if you don't mind me saying." She said. "Let me try and talk some sense into the young lord."

Atsuha followed after Takeshi, getting his attention and stopping him for a moment.

"Takeshi-san, could you spare a moment? Perhaps there's a better way to handle this situation. Having been here for the past few days, we've seen that your people's hatred for the yokai equals, if not surpasses the threat they feel toward the Varjans. I mean, some of the natives have even begun to ally with them! Some members of the taskforce, like myself, are quite magically inclined. I'm sure can find a way to work something out." She said, trying to reason with the young lord.

Cogsfell Aftermath

"Merda, Madonna, you're sitting right on top of it!" Lucrecia said, responding to Leoniya's inquiry about the demon. She had to admit, it was rather amusing to see the monster squirm in frustration. Still it seemed far from helpless as it gathered deadly energy from it's countless maws, readying to let loose on them all. Astreya and Kat fired their weapons at it while the tank had the monster pinned down, while it seemed to do some damage it was more annoyed that injured from the looks of it. Even Polina's sneak attack did little to change the situation. Lucrecua grimaced as the demon displayed it's supernatural strength in casting away the tank and Leoniya along with it against a nearby building. Taking care to dodge the corrosive liquid spewing from the demon's body, Lucrecia readied her blades and prepared to strike.

She was however, stopped as Leoniya emerged her head from the tank and gave her new directives.

"Ai suoi ordini, Madonna. We won't let you down! Polina, we go!" She said, turning to her Farisian comrade. She began making a break from the current battle. A couple of lesser demon had been attracted by the commotion, making their way toward her from some windows. Gracefully jumping over any instance of the corrosive substance in her way, she sliced a couple of the monsters in half with her machetes. One was about to jump down from the rooftop above them, but it was met with a couple of well placed rounds right in the head before it got the chance. It toppled over and fell straight to the ground, making a splatting noise as its disgusting blood started to flow onto the street. As she made more headway, she could only hope that there were at least some survivors left. Hopefully Myrilla's daughter would be among them...
Eon Tower - Mid Morning
@PaulHaynek@Blaze Gamma@ReusableSword@Polaris North@Inertia@Hammerman@FrogRFlowR@Enkryption@Silverstein@The Irish Tree

“And with that, we’re requesting that your team handle this matter as soon as possible. It’s been quite the terror, for lack of a better word, for this region for the past few weeks. Unfortunately, it’s also created multiple other instances of its kind as well. We’ve heard they’ve decimated another village just within the last few days.” Said a middle-aged man. We wore a robe traditionally with the garb that officials of the Association adorned, along with having his black hair in a ponytail.

“Interesting. Is there a reason why my team was specifically requested?” Replied a man with long purple hair, wearing elaborate ceremonial attire. Both men were in a room within the middle halls of the Tower, sitting on opposite sides of an office desk with a few stacks of paperwork on the table. The purple haired man sat with his chin resting on his crossed hands with a curious expression on his face.

“The last team we sent after it was completely decimated with only a few survivors making it back, the recommendation came from them. Your sect has some of the strongest Magus in the country; we understand that you’re also taking on some new talent as of late. We feel that your forces will fare much better than what we currently have available.”

“That may be true, but I’m afraid we’re also dealing with a couple of things on our end. Our new members may all be skilled in one way or another, but not all of them have any real experience in dealing with abominations. As for our veteran members, I’m afraid that Selini is attending a summit with the Church, while Xashan is on his own mission in the west mountains. Ruecian is busy prepping for the newcomer’s orientation, and Rozemyne is needed as an advisor for them."

The official was clearly growing frustrated at the situation, as it sounded like the request was going to be rejected. “Surely you understand the gravity of the situation, we can’t let that thing continue to roam free. The plains in that area are slowly being turned into a miasma breeding ground as we speak!”

The purple haired man sighed. “Indeed, they are. The summit should be letting out soon, when it does I’ll immediately send word to Selini. It seems that this happened at an inconvenient time for the both of us.”

“Grrh, I suppose it has. Just see to a resolution in any way you can, just remember that all eyes are on you Irvin.” Replied the official. He promptly got up from his chair and exited the room. Arteus clicked his teeth, and stood from his chair as well. He folded his arms and thought for a moment, considering all the options that were left on the table. Unfortunately, there weren’t many…

He could sense the mana from the gatheried newcomers now standing just outside the Tower. They’re…strong, yes indeed they’re strong. But ‘strong’ isn’t enough for this situation. He thought to himself. For now, he thought it best for Bryhildia to handle it, she alone should be enough. He needs Roze and Rue here right now.

He was broken out of his thoughts by Scarlett’s mana signature, he noticed it was moving higher along the tower right now. He didn’t really know what to make of it, but he decided that Roze would do something about it anyway. He left his office and made his way to the conference room, it was time to meet his new team.

--

A young woman, dressed in unique black witch garb, walked the hall as she headed toward the conference area for the orientation. She stopped in her tracks, sensing a shifting mana ascending the tower. She sighed, and made her way toward a nearby window. Gazing out, she saw Scarlett crawling up the outside walls like a cat. Her eyes squinted in an annoyed glance, she began gathering up her magical energy to unleash a spell. Her channeling was accompanied by a gust of emerald wind flowing around her.

“Fly, Icarus!” She uttered. Her galdr command brought forth an impressive green hawk, larger than a man, with a visible skeleton case around its body. Letting out a large screech, the creature shot a powerful squall toward Scarlett, knocking her off the side of the tower. However, with staggering speed, Icarus flew after the girl and caught her with its talons just as soon as she was blown off. Roze then beckons her familiar to bring Scarlett face level to her, jumping on its back and looking down at Scarlett with an expression of disapproval.

“Master Arteus will disapprove of such behavior, back to the ground with the others you go.” She scolded her.

Icarus began to sharply descend back to the front of the tower, minding the luggage it was carrying. With one graceful swoop, Icarus descended to the group of magus and gently dropped Scarlett at Shavis’s feet. It made a satisfied cry, showing off its magnificent wingspan. Roze hopped off the bird promptly thereafter, giving it a nod of approval before beckoning it to vanish in a veil of evergreen light.

“Morning. Sorry, it’s not a good look for her to be climbing the Tower in such a way.” She said to Shavis. “Welcome to Eon all. Rozemyne Levina, just call me Roze for short.”

“Hi Roze!” Evelyn waved cheerfully at the black robed witch, seeming to be familiar with her.

“Weird, I wonder why that woman started climbing the tower like that?” Lapis said, cocking her head in confusion.

“A better question to ask is why were most of you late getting here.” Said a voice with the bearing of a stern and solemn military leader. The large doors of the front entrance slowly opened with a loud creak, and they revealed a Belua who had the appearance of a young man. One could immediately recognize the similar features he shared with Lapis. Despite being shorter than most of the people present, an undeniable power could be felt radiating from him.

“Oh…Hi brother. Forgive me, it was Evelyn’s fault that I was late.” Replied the younger sibling, making an apologetic bow.

Evelyn simply replied with a firm ‘Hmph!’ while crossing her arms. Lapis’s brother simply sighed and shook his head, as if he was used to this behavior from the two. He then turned his attention to the rest of the party. “I certainly hope the rest of you don’t have such flimsy excuses. Tch. Although, we at the Tower don’t have much room to talk either. All I’ll say is that we’ve been dealing with our own issues as of late. But that’s not for you to worry about right now. Name’s Ruecian Valeniquen, the resident combat instructor of Eon Tower. Those of you who are more physically inclined will become well acquainted with me, so be prepared. I see you’ve already met Roze, think of her as a field advisor for now.”

He paused for a moment to inspect the party, taking particular note of the hooded Fae that kept sharpening his knives and the insectoid Belua that had just arrived. The latter was due mainly in part to sheer intrigue, as Belua with more feral appearances weren’t commonplace in such urban areas. The former mainly because of the way he looked around at his peers with his bag-outlined eyes, as if he was silently judging them. It kind of annoyed him, if he was being honest.

“At any rate, I believe that’s enough pleasantries. Follow me and we’ll begin your initiation; Welcome to your new lives as Reavers of Eon.” He said, beckoning the others to accompany him into the Tower.

“Ah~ So soon after graduating and already I’ve been accepted into an organization that recognizes my genius. Fame and fortune here I come!” Mused Evelyn to herself.

“Evelyn…” Groaned Lapis.

--

Being led into the inner workings of the Tower, the party would see the various mechanizations and magical artifacts that lined in. Marked with marble floors and pillars, one could see that again much effort was put into its architecture. While on their way, they passed by a robed man with a ponytail. He had a face full of frustration, but it went away for a moment when he noticed the party.

“You’re the new team?” He said. He looked at all them, seeing the myriad appearances the party held. His expression sombered up a bit. “Good day.” was all he said before making his way toward the exit. “Half of them don’t even look like magus, Gods above we’re doomed…” He muttered under his breath. Ruecian signaled to ignore the man and continue onward.

“Hey Lapis, what do you make of that bug person?” Evelyn asked, getting her friend’s attention. She made sure she whispered so that only Lapis could hear her.

“What of him? Have you never seen a Belua with such a strong animalistic appearance? Our kind are very genetically diverse, so our looks can vary wildly. I bet his connection to nature is especially high, and he’s probably really strong too.” She replied.

Eventually, they were led to a pair of large ornamental doors. “Here we are, say hello to your new boss.” Said Ruecian, as he opened the doors. The revealed room looked to be an audience chamber of sorts; the room was lined with stained glass windows and a large red circular rug covered much of the floor’s center. Standing before them was a man with long purple hair and stylish robes, they all know him from their letter of invitation. He was the one who sent them out after all.

“Morning all, I’m glad you were able to make it here. I’ve introduced myself to you all, but now you get to put a face to the name. Arteus Navarre Irvin, head magus and Chief of Staff of Eon, at your service. There would’ve been a couple more magus meeting with you here, but I’m afraid they're indisposed currently. Regardless, welcome to your first day as official Reavers of Eon. The Tower acts as an arcology of sorts, separate from the Magus Association enough to where we can act on our own for most situations. Naturally, we have our own facilities that help sustain our autonomy, from a whole magitech factory to a library housing countless grimoires and artifacts. We also have staff that assist with creating compendiums of magical beasts and combating abominations. I know that some of you already have experience in dealing with monsters and the like.”

He folded his arms, taking in the new team that stood before him. “Now, do any of you have any questions for me? If not, we’ll go ahead and get you set up for the field. We’ve made sure to have a few jobs lined up for you, should help in getting acclaimed in how we do things out in the field.”

Totally worth ten minutes in GIMP.

I haven't been on the site all day. I log in and see a notification for this RP, and I come to find this.

The 10 minutes of effort you put into making this will be appreciated for generations to come.
Funny everyone thinks that the Hangai sisters and the goblin are a throuple. Hinami's just a third wheel really XD
Sorry to do this everyone, but I think I might have to back out. I’m gonna be much busier over the next month and I already have a good bit on my plate RP-wise. Again, really sorry, and I hope you all have a lovely RP going forward.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm glad you threw your hat, in spite of it.

Take care.
