Appearance:

Dumas like all Pixies, stands at one foot tall with pointed ears. His skin is white like snow, as is his eyes and hair. Dumas keeps his hair in a perpetual state of spikiness, perhaps magically. His body has far more scars on it than the average Pixie as he fights a lot more than his kin. This high level of physical activity has led to Dumas having a toned and athletic build. Like other Pixies, Dumas has insect-like wings. In his case it is six translucent blue wings. Like all Pixies Dumas can use magic to become human sized, in his case 5’8’’.

When it comes to his attire, Dumas is quite different than other Pixies. While Pixies are usually seen wearing basic clothing made out of plants, Dumas is much more inspired by the fashion of the Human lands. He can be found wearing a hooded shirt, pants, and boots. Colour wise he prefers clothes that are similar in color to his wings.

History:

For untold centuries Pixies lived in the hidden places of the world. They lived through the ages of Titans, Dragons, and now the lesser races. One such hidden place where Pixies lived was the deep woods just east of Loch Oberia, in the Empire of Oberia. It was there that over a century ago that Dumas was born. Born the thirteenth child of a Pixie couple, he was considered a bad omen because he was the thirteenth. This led to other Pixies avoiding Dumas when he was a child. He struggled to find his place in his family among all his other siblings.

Once Dumas was old enough to begun his studies, his parents decided that he would be a herbalist. While Dumas did have an aptitude for it, he had a nagging notion in his mind that this wasn’t what he was supposed to do with his life. Dumas’s world would change dramatically when he was convinced to sneak out of the woods by some other young Pixies. They would leave the wood and travel south to the city of Dhamos-Tyrr.

The Pixies would immediately stand out in the city, as their kind was a rare sight to the other races. Dumas and the others would buy some goods, including clothing that Dumas liked. But their spending would draw attention, as a bandit tried to rob them. Dumas would defend himself, getting into the first fight of his life, managing to defeat the bandit. The rush Dumas felt from fighting would forever change him.

When the Pixies returned to the deep wood, they were chastised by the elders. But Dumas didn’t care, as he began to rebel. Getting into fights with other Pixies, leaving the wood to explore Oberia. It was while traveling Oberia that Dumas would discover a portal door. Created by the Titans of legend, these doors linked locations all over the world, but could only be seen by magical beings.

Using these doors, Dumas traveled to the other continents, doing a lot of self-discovery. Dumas would spend many years traveling the world, going from portal door to portal door. He would eventually return to the deep wood of his birth, a much more mature Pixie. Seeing how he changed for the better, the elders decided to accept him as their representative to the outside world.

Dumas would also train to become a Knight of the Deep Wood, the protectors of the Pixie community. For several decades now Dumas defends his home and represents them in his travels. But for a few years now nothing interesting has happened to the Pixies. That was until the star fell from the sky, hitting a far off mountain range.

Abilities:

As a Pixie, Dumas can naturally fly with his wings, able to move at the relative speed of a falcon. He is also naturally magical, being connected to the innate mana of the world. This allows him to detect magic and see through illusions. This innate magic allows him to cast spells with out learning them beforehand. But this magic is chaotic in nature and can backfire very easily. A simple fireball spell could explode in Dumas’s face for example. The greater the magic Dumas calls upon, the more chaotic it becomes. One spell that Dumas has mastered is transforming from a foot tall into the size of a Human and back.

Unlike other Pixies, Dumas is a fighter. After a century of getting into fights, Dumas has become quite a good brawler, able to hold his own. In recent decades, Dumas has begun to train with a sword as he accepted into the Order of Deep Wood Knights. Dumas is now skilled with a blade, able to use various forms and stances. Dumas can also incorporate his magic into combat, such as throwing lightning bolts or summoning vines to ensnare his opponent.

Outside of magic and combat, Dumas is a skilled acrobat, having trained on the giant, ancient trees of his home. He uses these skills while flying, being able to use many different maneuvers while in the air. Dumas also is a trained herbalist, knowing what plants will heal what ailment.

Reason for accepting this task:

Whenever Pixies need to interact with the outside world, they generally turn to Dumas. When the fallen star hit the Dragonspine mountains, the Pixies were alarmed. So they sent Dumas to investigate, which seemed fun to Dumas so he accepted.

Miscellaneous Facts:

• Dumas’s hair does seem to be magical in how it keeps its shape.
• Dumas is a lover of music and the arts, having seen many performances.
• Dumas has been known to harvest psychedelic herbs.
• Dumas gets very mad when someone insults, often fighting with them.

So SHIELD was a rumor for several decades before it became public knowledge during a massive crisis with superheroes (something like the battle of New York, I haven't decided yet). To the general public Hydra would mostly be known to WWII buffs, that is before they resurfaced in control of SHIELD. The reveal that SHIELD was being controlled by Hydra was global news as many superheroes, notably the Avengers, very publicly fought them, causing much damage to many cities and resulting in many deaths. So yes SHIELD and Hydra are common knowledge, and that's why many will be against the Avengers becoming a replacement for SHIELD.

So the app is pretty good. What definitely needs expanding is the history section. I should have mentioned this in the first post, but I am looking for two to three paragraphs for the history. What definitely needs to be covered is their origin, what they did during the whole SHIELD-Hydra reveal, and how they joined the Avengers. You can cover any other history you think is relevant.

Also for the supporting cast, just include a sentence for each character on how they are relevant to Captain Marvel. If you do that you character will probably be accepted.

This is an interesting take on Spider-Man. The only issue I have is like with Artemis Arts, could you expand your history section. It should cover at least his origin, reaction to the Hydra reveal, and how they joined the Avengers. Other than that you are good.

Also is Mary-Jane still around? I noticed she wasn’t included in your supporting cast. And I appreciate that you included May Parker. I am currently reading the old Spider-Girl comics and I really like the character, so she will probably show up as an NPC in this RP.

I love Blink, so she’s great to see in this RP. All that is needed before I approve her is for you to add what she did the SHIELD-Hydra reveal and how she joined the Avengers after it. But other than that it’s a great character sheet.

As much as I like the Krakoa era X-Men stuff, I'm going to say that at the start of this RP we are pre-Krakoa. The X-Men will still be operating out of the Xavier Institute. Maybe if this RP goes on long enough we could explore the Krakoa stuff.

The Hunt, A Modern Fantasy Smorgasbord RP

As Avi finished talking about his background, Scarlet interjected with a joke about Pierce Brosnan playing him in a movie. A small smile formed on Avi’s face at the thought of being compared to the suave, good looking Brit. And speaking of Brits, Morgana then revealed her background, also being from the UK. She also revealed that she dealt more with the academic study of magic then its operational use. Avi was impressed with her skills, recognizing the disparity in magical aptitude between her and himself.

But Avi’s admiration was interrupted by Faye answering his question. Apparently the fairies were still on Earth, just outside the reach of the more mundane races. Avi was aware that there were places where magic flowed that most couldn’t reach. He thought of the wand in his jacket. It was said to be taken from the world tree Yggdrasil, as apparently one could reach the world tree from somewhere here on Earth. Faye then spoke of the corruption in the magic of this world that came from the Shattering.

“I have heard stories of something corrupting this world’s magic. Some colleagues of mine who are more in tune with that kind of thing have said that energy from the Shattering had messed up the world pretty bad,” added Avi.

It was then that the food arrived, an Elf waitress placing a large plate of schnitzel in front of him. The half-elf immediately felt his stomach rumble at the sight of the German food. He hadn’t had a good meal since leaving Canada, only terrible airline food and random snacks here in Frankfurt. Avi then immediately began to eat his meal, unconsciously eating at a faster rate then was probably proper form at a public gathering. But Avi couldn’t help himself after having a first bite. This schnitzel was a good deal better than the one he was used to at Oktoberfest back in his hometown. Avi only paused when Amanda made a comment about how hungry everyone was.

The android then asked them to explain food and mentioned an augmentation that would allow her to eat food. As Avi wondered how best to explain eating, Morgana asked a question that had been burning in Avi’s mind. Why was he on this assignment? Why was any of them? Amanda paused before answering. Apparently HQ has an advanced algorithm in a super computer that assesses agents’ operational value and possible future operational value. Avi had heard of this kind of concept before, but only really in Sci-Fi novels. But in those books it was usually a bad thing leading to a dystopia in which every one is given a role. While Avi didn’t think that this technology would lead to that future, it did present some ethical questions that Avi would need to spend more time think it over.

Avi decided not to continue musing over the implications of the algorithm, instead watching Faye attempt to explain the bockwurst, before jumping in himself, “I would say that you at least try eating Amanda. Take what I got, the hunter’s schnitzel. It has a crisp from the breaded pork, and a nice savory and earthy taste from the mushroom gravy. But those words probably don’t mean anything to you. I guess you just need to try it out. I mean you could remove the augmentation if you wanted, right? If somehow you just despise eating.”

Scarlet then had a question about her status as a mercenary. It did present another issue to Avi if none OMR agents were included in the algorithm. If someone loaded everyone in the world into the algorithm, that could lead to some troubling conclusions. As Avi finished his schnitzel and downed his German lager, he was tempted to ask about the reach of this program. But he caught his tongue, waiting till he knew more before raising any issue.

Wolverine is still good, but if you want to play Spider-Man go ahead. All characters require an application even if they are a canon. Take a look at my sheet for Torch in the character tab, however don't feel need to go as in-depth, I just did that cause my character is pretty obscure. History is mostly important in shaping what the canon in this RP is.

Wolverine would totally work. Just note that someone expressed possible interest in playing as X-23, but I'm not sure if they have decided on their character yet. Also characters don't have to be reimagined. If you want you could play a character straight up like their comic or movie depiction, mix both, or reimagine them. I want to be as inclusive as possible with how players want to run their characters.
