Happy New Year, y'all!
Sorry for the late update but anyway, Happy New Year!
Dubious Wares And Questionable Methods
~@13org (FYR)~

"You must mean Bast. Honestly, no one knows where he went. He was always quite a mysterious man. I am quite sure he took the centaur woman with him though."
Freyr

"Oh? So they gone now? That is very sad." George remarked. "Well, I hope you and your guild continue to help take down Ravager's Rest, the fortress over at some mountains above that Order city Pravar. I assure you, there will be great reward for all of you still."

"You asked for protection on the road, right? I am quite confident in both my senses and my abilities so don't worry even though I'm alone."
Freyr

"Oh, that is good! That is good!" George re-embarked the wagon and gestured for you to come aboard. "Come on, come on. My cargo is very valuable and will sell like crazy in Pravar. It gives me lots of money to pay you. Very good, yes?" The merchant spurred the horses forward once you were beside him on the wagon's passenger seat.

The cargo of the carriage was well-hidden and well-secured. You get an ominous feeling as to what they could be.

------

Not long after leaving the port, the carriage was already being hounded by raiders. Not human raiders though, they were a band of rowdy Goblins that have a wagon of their own. They were all female of varying looks but they were all quite petite. You were reminded that in this world of today, monsters were always known to be girls. You and Ditzy were notable exceptions.

"We heard that there's good stuff in your wagon!" One of the Goblins exclaimed. "Give it to us or you'll have a bad time!"

"Just hurry up, you guys. I'm not very good with the horsies here." The Goblin driver chimed in. You see that she was having a hard time controlling the wagon, making it unpredictable in movement.

The Goblins pelted you and George with stones and their own clubs as they tried to jump from their wagon to your own. "Do something, bunny man!" George told you as he made sure that the two carriages did not crash into each other.

"Come on, That's just the first round. I still got plenty of steam left."
Yang Bethlehem

"Not bad, blondie."

Nero then held his sword with one hand on the grip and the other on the blade. Despite your fast speed and his heavy-looking armor, Nero was able to evade them or block them with the broad side of his blade. He made his move, a thrust of the sword's pommel. A move you easily evaded and can counterattack but then he quickly spun and swung his blade, sweeping you off your feet with the weapon's hilt.

The sword's point was put to your face, a win for Nero. "And that's round two. How long are we doing this again?"

That's What Friends Do
~@Stern Algorithm, @ShwiggityShwah, @Restalaan (DIT), @13org (ADA)~

The party made its way to the south of Pravar. Having a cast full of monsters, they had the fortune not to encounter any Order presence in the trip. Merely travelers that spared them suspicious and confused glances at best and total apathy at worst, not wanting to get involved with monsters that probably had a death wish for getting real close to Order territory.

The lands south of Pravar was a graveyard. Not only was it filled with graveyards, churches and buildings abandoned and left to rot dotted the sad landscape. It was midday when the party arrived but the sky was cloudy and that left a gloomy atmosphere in the area. Finding Forde was easy though, he was just in a campsite as he said.

"Took you long enough." A boy about the same age as Neil but looked ten times more ragged and sickly approached. Jittery, he continued. "Although, there's more of you than I expected. This'll make the job easier, I suppose."

"Now, follow me. Here's what we'll do." Forde led the party to a wide graveyard behind a decrepit chapel filled with crude and haphazard tombstones. "Now one of these graves has someone that got buried with a map. A treasure map. A map's that's gonna turn my life around and change me from this and into..." Spotting Neil, Forde pointed. "...more like him."

Neil raised an eyebrow, not sure what to feel about that. He was still pulling the Altissima sisters and declined help during the trip.

"The map's just an old parchment. You'll know it when you see it." Forde finished. "So, y'all ready?"

Very nice sketch. You're also accepted and I will write you in on the next update.
Does someone seek a Co-GM?

"I am curious though, is your becoming accustomed to humans mission-critical? Are you...mission-critical?"
Hyouka

"Huh, what?!" Camille was taken by surprise by your question. "N-No! I'm not mission critical! Nor is my mission about humans!" She sighed, calming down. "It's just that I--"

*WHIZZ*

The undeniable sound of a bullet was heard. The vehicle you and Camille were on suddenly accelerated until it was stopped by the much larger cargo transport in front of it. The inertia from it launched you and Camille from atop the transport and into the ground. More bullets whizzing was heard as the personnel carriers deployed the Knights. "They're killing the drivers! We're under attack!" You hear Hospitaller Gordian over the radio.

The road was surrounded by hills tall enough to conceal what was behind them. And apparently what was behind them were an entire raiding party of robot pirates riding their crudely-built war trucks, shooting their boorish-looking weapons and raining bullets upon the caravan. Some charged forth with rudimentary melee weapons: Large cleavers, buzz saws and modified clubs.

Despite being surprised, the Knights were quick to reorganize. Knights with auto rifles and plasma guns joined the Typhoon Knights who revved up their miniguns and began firing back at the pirates. Some Knights wielded shields and swords or axes, ready to greet the melee pirates in hand-to-hand combat.

Camille readied her minigun weapon while Hospitaller Gordian approached you. "Are you two al--" He was cut off when a harpoon bolt pierced through his torso, nailing him to the personnel carrier. Blood quickly flowed from his wound but he was still alive, albeit losing that status pretty quickly. Camille saw the entire scene play out and completely froze. Her eyes were wide with horror and confusion and shock as she silently watched Gordian bleed out.

"Captain, my calculations make me believe that I will be better suited to go directly for the scientist. My superior speed is suited for this type of mission and if I do not superheat my tail it is actually useful for the non-lethal take down of target. Furthermore, with this environment, I believe they will try to escape through tunnels or vehicles, even the most armoured of robots can't survive the heat for long, so I will make sure to inform you if I spot their escape method."
Vilkas

"Very well then. You will join a small detachment of our lightest robots and make your way to the inner structures." Cura pointed at the buildings located at the center of the complex. "Once we begin the attack, start moving and move as fast as you can. We can't give these rogues a single second."

"Alright, let's do this."

------

The main entrance to the illegal laboratories was a large structure with a couple of lookout towers and an enclosed hangar, most likely for the rogue scientists' vehicles and aircraft since how else would they be able to traverse the hostile planet.

*BOOM*

A loud explosion rang through the area. The hangar doors were blown open, the oxygen being visibly sucked out. The Dostrex robots, led by Captain Cura, charged forth. Typical of Dostrex robots, they were mostly large and heavily-armored. They wielded huge weapons like miniguns, autocannons and launchers. It was no surprise, robots of Dostrex emphasized strength and they liked to look the part, imposing their mighty presence upon their enemies.

Sounds of gunfire and battle filled the air. It was high time for you to move. You and your group infiltrated the facility by inserting yourselves on top of the enclosed structures and making your way to the inner structures, avoiding or destroying any cameras that stood in your way. Soon you reach the central buildings, the ones hanging over the gorge. Despite the distance, you could feel the melting heat from the lava river below.

"Vilkas-san." Your attention was called by a fellow light robot. She was tall but petite with bluish hair tied to a ponytail, wearing blue-gray light armor. In fact, her armor was so light she was showing off a bit of skin. Her weapons included a pair of curved blades, one longer than the other. On a closer look, her swords were actually a katana and a wakizashi. Besides the oriental blades, you spot a belt of shuriken around her waist. Was this robot some sort of ninja wannabe?

"There is very few of us but there is a lot of ground to cover. We have no choice but to split up." As she spoke, the other robots begun cutting open holes into the structures. "The other robots will try and locate the exits and block them. Meanwhile, you and I will be the ones to chase down the scientists and subdue them. I hope you're as fast as you look, Vilkas-san."

Once the holes were open, you dropped down into one of the complex's tunnels. The ninja robot followed in a moment and sealed the hole to prevent the oxygen from escaping and the heat from entering. Conveniently, that part of the tunnel had a couple of signs that pointed to two destinations: 'Command Center' and 'Holding Cells'. "Holding cells? For the Swarm aliens? Damn these scientists! Don't they know how dangerous they are?!"

"I guess we have to split up further, Vilkas-san. Taking control of the command center will let us control much of this facility and locate the scientists. Meanwhile, we also need to deal with the aliens in the holding cells." The ninja robot said. "So where will you be going?"

"No dragons, and one of them sounds scared to fight one... Of all the knights we could talk to it's these two..."
Violette

Now that hurt. It confirmed Jarde's worst fears about being in this party. Even the other girl's words were not much help since she also, albeit indirectly, said that both Gerard and Jarde were nobodies right now, only starting off in their careers. Not that he did not appreciate the sentiment, at least someone honestly believed in them. Or so he would like to believe.

Jarde decided not to dwell on these matters too much. At least, he attempted to. Try as he might but circumstances appear to always remind him of how he did not belong there. Fortunately, his mind and attention was caught on something else when Gerard when he made his reply.

"Thank you both for your words of encouragement. We'll carry them in our hearts to the next battle. It is a rare soldier who's still sane to risk their life without fear——but I'm certain your faith in us will make conquering it, again and again, so much the easier. Enough that when we next meet, we'll both have many more stories for you. Something truly valorous. Enough to finally excite you a little too, Lady Violette."
Gerard Segremors

It appeared the disappointment elicited quite the response from Gerard. It was not like he was telling them off, but it sure felt like that. Jarde wanted to add something to lighten the mood, but found that he could not. His spirit was doused and his mind was busy battling off his anxiety. In the end, he just smiled and nodded at the noble ladies, in agreement with Sir Gerard.

"Presenting the Young Lady of the Throne and the Heir Apparent, Princess Eliabelle Tanenway Falthaen!"

The announcement caught everyone's attention in the hall. The princess herself came forth, appearing to shine brightly to all those present. She was a woman of beauty complemented with a white, elaborate dress rumored to have been weaved by a great elven seamstress from distand lands.

"It's wonderful to see you all! But, I must admit, my reason for holding this function was both to grant everyone a pleasant time shared with friends, and to meet the Iron Rose Knights! I would be delighted if they would take some time to speak with me."
Eliabelle Tanenway Falthaen

Jarde was technically with the Iron Rose Knights but he doubted it was him the Crown Princess wanted to speak with. There were other, more qualified knights to talk to her.

"Well then, it was nice meeting you ladies. Like what my friend here said, perhaps next time we'll have more exciting stories to tell you. Or maybe we'll be stuck dealing with bandits forever. Who knows?" He bid farewell to the three noble ladies with a laugh before turning to Gerard. "I'll be outside to look at the pretty gardens. You guys have fun with the princess, alright?"

Jarde turned to make his leave. He caught a glimpse of the beautiful castle gardens on the way and this was his chance to get a good look and appreciate them. It would also help get his mind off some unpleasant thoughts and feelings. He spared a glance at Fanilly and her company. It looked like they were done talking to that noble but he guessed there would be more talking for them now that the Princess was around.
