Bio

Maybe the real plot was the friends we made along the way. [Last Updated: February 1, 2025]

I'm too old for this shit and I have learned not to share too much of my personal life on the internet. I earned a 4-year English degree, work as an English and writing tutor at a local college, a communications copywriter for a non-profit, and I'm a development editor at an academic publishing company. That means I word good.

I like literature and poetry. I first started writing as a hobby with online roleplay at the start of 2010, and I've slowly drifted away from it in recent years. I enjoy most genres, but if I had to pick a couple of favorites, they would be sci-fi and high fantasy—heavy emphasis on the high fantasy. Some of my favorite moments have come from Elder Scrolls roleplays, since it appeals to the D&D nerd in me.

I have a tendency to get carried away with making my character sheets. I've always been a fan of characters overcoming their weaknesses and obstacles and I try to make that show in many of my characters. Therefore, many of the narratives I explore come from a place of vulnerability, but I try to balance the heavy themes with light whimsy. Sometimes though that door swings the other way and I lean into the whimsy while sneaking in moments of vulnerability.

I also try to research whatever it is I'm writing about so that I'm not just spitting into the wind. Unless that's what my character is doing, in which case I try to make sure that's made clear in my writing. Sometimes that gets in the way, like in the case of blacksmith character I wanted to make but felt compelled to study up on blacksmithing first (don't fall into that trap, no one really gives a shit).

It’s kind of hard to define my style, as I’m influenced by all sorts of literary movements and schools of criticism; dark romanticism, modernism, post-modernism, Marxism, feminism, post-structuralism—I have a lot of isms in my pocket. Nathaniel Hawthorne is one of my favorite dark romantic authors, Dickinson is one of my favorite naturalist poets, Judith Ortiz Cofer, Langston Hughes, and Robert Frost—they’ve all in some ways informed my writing, as well as many others. I even tend to look to some of my fellow guild mates for inspiration or analyze what I like about their writing and see what I can do to improve my own through their example.

@The Wanderer@TheWizardLizard@Dragonbud@gammaflux@Voltus_Ventus@Kimiyosis@akje@Spoopy Scary From now on, I will not hunt you down. If you have not posted recently, I will kill you off tomorrow, and if you go over 3 days without posting I will end your character. Come back or die off, your choice.

Don't let me stop you from flexing those muscles, but in most circumstances (not all), people who haven't posted in over three days probably aren't coming back anyway.
It was quite a long and eventful day. Between having had no sleep the previous night, half of the party he had recent acquainted himself with going off to who-knows-where on what was apparent to be a mission to willingly swan dive into the dragon's maws - the merchant had little sympathy for the fools - and then they were suddenly surrounded by bandits, with the foolish knight sacrificing his life so that the others may flee. Foolish, certainly; Arastoph definitely would not have done the same, but he appreciated the act as it allowed him to live another day. However, that extra day comprised him of hiking through rough terrain to get to the next town over while he was sleep deprived. While he still detested the idea of sleeping among strangers, he felt that his body might win out this time around.

He had no interest in talking with any of those who were left; he was too exhausted and irritable for him to be so patient with them. The boy, however, still seemed to have plenty of energy left to harass the seer girl as she began to wander off.

"However you look at it," he began to explain, "every man and woman is a sinner. Some sin less, some sin more, some are better at hiding it."

Arastoph sighed and closed his eyes just as a cool breeze blew by and soothed his hot skin and aching muscles.

"Carver is probably dead and will be suffering eternal damnation. We can just hope he's being tortured by two hundred ninety-nine pitchforks instead of three hundred."
My work schedule has been hell. I didn't even sign on to work full-time. What is this?

Will work on one. But it's midnight and I have to work a 2:30 tomorrow, so it'll be either short or sloppy. Maybe both if I don't like you.
Yeah. I've just been working my ass off the past two days.
If Kronshi doesn't put it out before I go to bed, feel free to drag Kelvin around.

tfw Kronshi doesn't pull out
"Loaded", pft! It is nothing more than pocket money to him!
In my defense, my stupidly wealthy trader man was forced to start off with 0g, so, like... not my fault.

^what every blacksmith will say :D!

Large breasts generally aren't a problem when it comes to wearing armor. Armor isn't skin tight. Even if her chest was somehow too big, Furnace could make armor that can still be suitable for her. There is armor that forms something like a shelf at the chest. But really, nobody's boobs can be so large that they can't fit themselves into any breastplate.
Boob-shaped breastplate is the most ridiculous thing ever. It directs all the pressure from the blows to the sternum and can actually break your chest.
Arastoph sighed somberly as the negotiations were halting as soon as he was about to close the deal with the engineer. The look on the man's face indicated he still wasn't pleased with something or another, but it was of no concern to the trader; everyone was good at something. For Kelvin, is was building things. For Arastoph, it was economics. Each individual should concern themselves with what pertains to them - stretching oneself too thin was a sure recipe for failure in all fields. Alas, there was also the problem with his payment. The engineer directed the down payment of gold towards their transaction working under the assumption that if the service agreement were to settle in, the gold that the seer had given him should cover that. However, the negotiations has fallen through. By all respects, the gold still belonged to the seer, who was utterly willing to give it up for the hat and seemed to place no value in it.

As a result of that, the engineer would have to relinquish his control over said currency, and it no longer bared any significance in the contract that could have been. Failing that, Arastoph had grounds for blackmail in which he could use in addressing the paladin, for the engineer would have practically robbed the seer of her money whilst simultaneously jeopardizing his contract with the seer and cheating him out of the money. Arastoph was fine with cheating, provided he or others could get away with it. But were that not the case...

There's little that he hates more than being cheated.

Retaliation, however, was an action for another time. Right now, everyone save for the seer and wee one, were focused on getting out. The engineer and paladin were squabbling over what action to take next. As a result of his frustration and impatience with the two grown adults bickering over such a simplistic issue, the trader snapped at them.

"The two of you are gabbing along like a pair of broads whilst we've still a stretch of road beyond us! We have sent already two strapping young dullards off and away to save the damsel, surely that is enough. Do not forget, there are people who we know for certain are still alive that need protecting."

He gestured to the gnome and the seer; pointing out them, as opposed to himself, might appeal to the knight's good graces more. Though for all intents and purposes, saw the knight as little more than a bulwark for his own protection.
