Final Fantasy: Stranger in Paradise is the funniest shit I've ever seen while also not being a bad game. Just crack open some cold ones with the boys, blare Limp Bizket, and Kill Chaos.
At the mention of whether they could out-muscle a drunk, Steppe Archer had to earnestly think about that one for a second. She probably couldn't beat down a man the size of the Guard Captain sober, but someone who's drunk is not just uncoordinated, but also very, very easy to avoid. Pondering it as she stood there, Steppe Archer would nearly miss the garrison guard's kindly offer of torches for them to light their way. And make it known that they were, temporarily, guards on patrol.
Striking up her torch, Steppe Archer had to wonder just how much trouble the residents of the town got up to at this hour anyways. After all, if guards were regularly on patrol all throughout Palisade then it'd be hard to commit any crimes, even at night. But still, the nomadic archer would proudly walk forth with her comrades beside her, striking a strange image with their motley crew. If anything, someone might wind up trying to get them arrested for supposedly impersonating guards for some dubious purpose. The Druid girl's humming was pleasant at least, and Steppe Archer would hum along with her. She didn't know the words to the song all that well, but she could easily follow the rhythm with just a low hum.
Now that Private First Class Steppe Archer was in the motions of her duty however, the two with her would come to notice how sharp the girl's gaze was. Like a hawk searching for prey, her eyes would peer down alleyways that she stuck her torch towards. Each scan would be punctuated with a quick statement of: "Clear!" before she would resume walking. It wasn't until they reached the entertainment district that the sound of a shattered glass caught her attention.
From the looks of it, a drunk was arguing with what she could only assume was a tavern owner unfortunate enough to have a client without knowledge of their limits. Rolling up her sleeves, Steppe Archer would begin marching towards the middle-aged drunk; Half to fulfill her duty, and half to prove that she definitely COULD out-muscle some drunken buffoon.
Name: Oz Gender: Female Age: Unknown Occupation: Guild Craftsmen Residence: The Forge of the Chateau Character Focus: Crafter, Tank, Merchant Personality: Shards of her maker and her species fuse to form her personality. A golem (half of one at least) is stoic, unwavering with little emotion displayed on the outside and little more stirring on the inside. At times there is a single-track mind that focuses only on the priority and ignoring any details unless those are calculated to help assist the task at hand. As a creation of her maker, she is distant and usually unsociable. She's blunt, willing to express the truth no matter how harsh but generally avoids interactivity because it might distract from her functions. There is one crack in the armor, however, and a single line of code stating "Oz loves collecting." has blossomed into an obsession of collecting anything that is collectable, be it gems, pottery, cards, coins, etc.
Notable Equipment:
'Syncoscopic Staff' - Item drop from YGGDRASIL. The fluff of the YGGDRASIL states: magical staff imbued with the gravitational energies of the earth empowering the user's sense of connection of the materials of the earth. The effects are summarized by: Slightly improved earth magic, once a day ability to survey square radius for ores and gems, and significantly reduced chances of failed crafting while using earth, metal, or gems.
'The Wall' - Crafted armor set from YGGDRASIL. Through the efforts of player efforts through Oz, this was the highest level of defensive armor created by their means. The first test set was given to Oz after focusing on an entirely defensive build.
Creator Information: Daz-Khaz_Mordu was a player with sporadic interest in MMOs such as YGGDRASIL. At times he'd be ravenous for YGGDRASIL, grinding for full weekends and well into the late nights on weekdays as well but would soon burn out and quit for a few weeks or even a month or two. He was a rather quiet, passive player that scarcely involved himself with Guild talk but he was active with raiding or anything else that could help his grind. While MMOs were supposed to be social affairs but Daz considered them more as a hurdle of personal achievement.
In that effort, he worked on his first created NPC, Oz. Starting the build on something that can create supplies for the players, like arrows for archers. Compared to some more automotive NPCs, Oz worked too slow for supply upkeep. Thus, he soon tried a bit of experimenting with an NPC that could create higher value items with the materials that were just stockpiling up. With that achieved, he wanted to code Oz to go and sell those items. quickly realizing that sending a NPC moving out alone might be attacked, he applied as much of a defensive focus as he could to theoretically have Oz hold out from attacks until help from the guild could arrive. From the profits and experience driven from this, Daz had finally leveled Oz up enough to construct high level items that were useful for the level of players in this guild. That was about as far as he got before he just lost interest entirely.
Made slight tweaks to separate Oz from Fodder Baron. Oz is now focused on making top level items, a process far more time consuming compared to the factory that the other has.
Overall, I really like her. I appreciate that you acknowledged the problem I was thinking of and fixed it before I said anything. I'd be happy to accept her!
Steppe Archer would listen attentively to the guard captain, glad that he was a relatively swell sounding person. She felt a bit sad that his subordinates didn't know their limits on drinking, but as her father told her, "Sometimes men want to prove they're men, and only reveal that they are asses."
The job itself didn't sound too difficult. Just patrolling until the moon was at its peak, and making sure to drag any drunks or ne'er-do-wells back for a proper sit in a cell. She doubted that anybody would really be trying to cause trouble in a town where there was a huge population of armed individuals, but you never knew. Regardless, Steppe Archer was eager and ready to start, to the point that she would excitedly don a shield over her left arm, raise it in the air, smiling proudly as she bore the guards' crest on her shield. "We won't let you down sir! Only thing you're going to regret is that we don't sign on full-time!"
With that said, Steppe Archer would march out, shield on her arm, and sword on her hip as she got out to patrol the streets. She figured that since the whole town needed to be patrolled, splitting up might be a good idea. Of course, she hadn't really...asked anyone if they wanted to. It wasn't until about a few streets later that the archer returned, running at full speed and panting. "Sorry, forgot to ask...are we splitting up or sticking together for guard duty?"
If her brains weren't impressive, her hustle certainly was.
@The Irish Tree Alright, think that should about do it. Here is the completed version for your approval.
Name: Flan du Rosemary vuu Succulence Ral Thyme Sauerkraut
Gender: Female?
Age: 894
Appearance:
Occupation: Head Chef
Residence: Kitchen (Connected to Chaeutu Entrance Foyer, 1st floor)
Character Focus: Provisions Crafter/DoT Poison/Tank
Personality: Flan du Rosemary Vuu Succulence Ral Thyme Sauerkraut is on the surface a kind soul, concerned about the well-being of everyone in the guild. She works tirelessly to keep everyone well-fed and buffed for battle, often becoming a workaholic. The mere thought of gathering and finding new ingredients excites her to no end as she is quite creative with her work, always trying to discover new cooking buffs and new tastes to test out on the guild. Not having access to ingredients is nightmare fuel for her.
Past the seemingly self-sacrificing workaholic attitude is a being who selfishly wishes for those around her to become addicted to her service. While she loves being creative it is also out of a desire to create the ultimate dishes that will make everyone dependent on her skills. She can take constructive criticism but if you ever belittle her food or cooking skills, you will be subject to a smile that will send chills down your spine and you may never feel safe eating her cooking ever again. One the other hand if she is praised excessively for her work, she melts into a giddy puddle and will work ever harder to gain even more praise.
Notable Equipment:
* Self-Filling Bread Basket: The perfect item for a food provisioner, the Self-Filling Bread Basket is exactly what its name implies. It is a basket that automatically produces a random collection of bread every day. The quality varies with the probability of better breads being on the lower end.
* Overflowing Wine Cask: This barrel of goodness has the ability to produce very large amounts of wine or other beverage. What makes it unique is the ability to ‘load’ the type of liquid wanted into the cask which will then start producing that liquid until it reaches its limit. The limitations of the Cask is that you need to have a ‘starter’ liquid and it cannot reproduce liquids of the highest quality.
* Ring of Resist Status: If Flan has to take to the battlefield her strategy is to continually poison the enemy while surviving. As her defenses are quite high the logical thing to look for would be status effects that could put her out of the fight to stop her DoT attacks. The Ring of Resist Status gives full immunity to all status effects at level 1 and falls 10% per each magic level and completely loses effectiveness at level 7.
* Butter Knife of Meat Cleaving: A joke weapon given to Flan completely for the Lolz. It is a butter knife with the highest penetrative stats possible making it able to cut through a large variety of objects. Easily able to slice through meat and most leather armors, if given enough time a person could die due to hundreds of tiny little cuts. Makes for a decent scalpel too.
* Wrist Guards of Good Eating: A provision crafting enhancement tool that provides a small defense bonus as well. As long as she wears them, whatever she cooks will have enhanced buff effects, effectively added a 10% bonus to quality and a 15% bonus to duration of effects. A direct gift from her creator to enhance her work, they are quite precious to her.
Creator Information: The creator of this little lady was none other than SlipperySavior, a super slime enthusiast whose goal was to research all manners of ways Slime Races could be used. His decision to make a Slime Chef was, well because there was always the small chance that a bit of her slime might mix in with whatever dish she was making. Needless to say everyone was rightly disgusted by such a reason but as no one else had bothered to make a Chef character which would be very beneficial for the guild, they let it happen; after all, it wasn’t like the slime was real anyway and the system wouldn’t allow it to mix with the food anyway by accident.

Time to make some medieval peasants respect WAMEN.
Also let me know if anyone has problems with the content provided. I struggled a bit in trying to think of things for Mamoru, Gromgard, and Light to do in particular, so let me know if anybody needs anything additional to do.
Not one to let an opportunity to demonstrate how much he loved his lords and his friends, Zouyu would proudly raise his large clawed animalistic hands, saying: "Mm! No need to kneel around us, Lord Rodias! Whether its gardening, flower picking, or just making the weather nice for you, you can count on me! Also I don't know what ovulate means," Zouyu said, still retaining a gargantuan bump on his head from Gromgard's blow to his head. But, a little pain was never a reason for him to be down.
Rodias would be lying if he tried to say that he didn't feel legitimately touched by some of the statements made by the inhabitants of the Chateau. It would warm the hearts of most, and even his character, a half-vampire, still felt the familiar ache of relief weigh upon his pumper. Part of him even got a kick out of Graft calling him "The pinnacle of CEOs". Inwardly, he now felt assured that this was way, way better than home. Being a data analyst was a decent living in the hellish future of the 22nd century, but vertical movement was about as limited as it got. You managed a computer's work, and that was it. Not like a company ever valued anyone that wasn't genius enough to improve the code themselves.
With a slight shake of his head, he would free himself of thoughts from his "normal" life as Mamoru made her rather beautiful speech, extending a hand that he had no reason not to accept. Rising just as discourse began, Rodias would shake his head at the notions of who should go scout and Chuunitrixx's outburst before her storming out. Perhaps the first true exertion of his authority would come as he rose, the slightest of smiles present upon his lips. A soft cadence of steps echoed as his heels clicked ever so slightly against the floor, stopping once he hit the carpet. A gloved hand would slam down upon the table, right over the drawing of the village's locale that he had made, before he proclaimed: "I am undeserving, of such loyalty, and even more undeserving of a title such as 'King', Mamoru. But, I won't run away from either. Aera, I thank you for speaking my mind. Come, we are all united in purpose here. Gromgard, believe me when I say that I will have use for your goblins yet. But not as disposable. Until we're certain as to whether resurrection magic works the same in this place, we must count every life as irreplaceable. But for the moment, I have plans for this town that only require two people," the vampire lord would state.
Returning his hand to his quill, Rodias would begin to speak as he continued to scribble. "Pardon Chuunitrixx. She's...difficult for others to get along with, as you all know. I'll speak to her personally. For now though, allow me to explain my plan..."
"To begin with, the matter of the village is a delicate one. Violence from hence forth will be our last resort when conflict arises. As for who shall be scouting out the area, I believe our best option is to go with..." Rodias would pause, to turn his quill up, pointing it at Ashara and Kath Erine. "Ashara, Kath Erine. I believe you two are best suited to this task. Namely, because Ashara possesses the closest thing to a normal human appearance of us all, and because Kath's magic will make escape simple if the situation turns dangerous." Before he even finished, Rodias could tell that objections would be raised, and before any could be presented he would state: "And, also, because I have tasks that require each of your individual skill sets."
Slowly walking around the table, Rodias would make his way to each of the various members of the guild in turn, beginning with Salem. Sensing that the boy might be dissapointed in his idea being half approved, but without him involved, he would state: "Salem, I have need of you to work with Graft on a little project that I have in mind. I'll explain the details to you both after this meeting is adjourned and I speak to Chuunitrixx about her behavior, but rest assured..." Rodias would slowly reach out to place a hand on the doll's shoulder.
"I promise it will entertain."
Turning his head over his shoulder to Graft, he added: "But, for now I have immediate orders due for the Factory floor, Graft. We're in need of observation devices, telescopes, binoculars, compasses. We're completely stranded in a world we don't understand, and if we intend to expand, we'll need ways to survey our surroundings without needing to travel far."
Upon relaying his orders to the two, he would bow his head respectfully, adding at the end: "I am counting on your cooperation in this."
"Kaldorna, I have a task set for you and your hunters as well. Your beasts will be in need of a food supply soon enough, so securing livestock and finding a way to keep them will be imperative. I understand the importance of Sun200's beast pens, and I would hate to see them stagnate. We will also need to find a source of blood to feed your hunters. I may only be half a vampire, but I understand the need to feed, Rodias would say, demonstrating logistical awareness as he assessed two immediate problems unique to the beast pens. It wasn't just the beasts that needed feeding.
"As such, I would like for you to lead your hunters on a hunt. I understand this land is unknown to us, but there is nobody more skilled in cutting into the heart of the wild than your group. To assist in capturing livestock..."
"I can do that! I can help!" Zouyu would excitedly say, popping up between Kaldorna and Arthanar.
Before either could show contempt for the obnoxious demihuman, Rodias would say: "...I will be asking Zouyu to accompany you. It will be useful for him as well, to find new plant species. In addition, I would like to make use of your beast pens temporarily. I'm in need of..." A brief pause would freeze the air, as a certain glint entered Rodias' eyes, his shoulders tensing ever so slightly as he finished with: "A tutorial." For just the briefest of moments, Kaldorna would feel the most innate primal urge to either fight or run, which was broken as Rodias turned away. It was incredibly hard to hide his excitement at the prospect of actually getting to fight with his new body.
Turning towards Aera, Rodias would smile serenely, once more composed. "Aera, I would like for you to accompany me to the Beast Pens; I do not wish any permanent harm to come to the beasts." Aera too would have seen it. That flash of undeniable bloodlust that was frightening to behold.
An MMO character existed for a singuler purpose: To kill, and to grow stronger. To fight was in their blood, and Rodias wasn't any different. The idea of growing stronger was almost euphoric, but even he knew that blindly flailing against beasts stronger than him was foolish. He'd start at level 60, then work his way up slowly, practicing in earnest while his subjects worked their hardest.
When it came time to address Mamoru, he would find that the matter of Penn and Shill's disappearance was worrisome. He didn't believe that the goblins would come to any harm; Even as a fodder type of mob, Gromgard's goblins at least held enough power to survive against wolves. Even the artsy ones. But even if the pen proved mightier than the sword, if they were to be discovered by humans before they establish proper contact then it would set a terrible impression. He only had the stereotypes of YGGDRASIL to go off of, so for all he knew the most common race in this world were civilzed goblins, but until information came back from Kath and Ashara, he had to assume the worst.
"Mamoru, I would like for you to go with Gromgard to retrieve Penn and Shill. You have my permission to deploy the Skeleton Butlers to aid in the search," Rodias would say, before smiling to Gromgard. "Their artistic spirit is no doubt burning with interest. After all, this is a place none of us have ever seen. When they return, be sure to let them know that I have work for them. I always thought this chateau could use more paintings. Giant ones," Rodias would say. Inwardly, he couldn't help but imagine just what KIND of paintings he could ask them to make. One of the first coming to mind was "The Creation", but with Gromgard in place of God and one of the goblins as Adam. He almost didn't manage to stifle his chuckle at his own unfunny, unexplainable joke.
"In the case of the two being captured or threatened, I authorize the use of lethal force to free them," Rodias would say. "Oh, and one more thing. Mamoru, I would like for you to find any type of ore you can. I assume you will have no problem finding any, with hands as skilled as your's.
Light was...difficult to find work for, beyond her pre-assigned task. Her mere physical contact was enough to cause normal humans to grow insane, and it is just about impossible to have her work outside of the vault, given the necessity in guarding it. It wasn't that Rodias didn't trust his subjects; Rather, it was that he didn't trust himself to not go look for...that.
"Light. I will need you to continue guarding the Vault as you have been. However, I would also like to say that you are not bound to remain solely within the Vault. Given your mobility, it would be cruel of me to confine you to it. As such, until a state of emergency is reached, you have free reign of the Chateau grounds. However, I have to forbid you 'hugging' anyone. At least until Graft finds the time to make you something that negates your sanity drain," Rodias would say, looking out towards the window. "But, don't worry. I won't object if you happen to randomly find some traveler in need of a hug. So long as they look like they won't be missed."
Light was indeed very difficult to plan for. But, he hoped that giving her plenty of room to stretch her legs would keep her from getting bored now that she had a functioning sense of boredom.
When it came to future proofing, one could never go wrong with having an entire army in the wing with which to counter any planned assault. Especially an army that didn't need to eat, sleep, or drink a damn thing to keep themselves sustained forever.
Put simply, keeping Vae Dhayar within Rodias' circle was absolutely essential for the longevity of the Chateau, and proved a difficult task given that Vae was made to be...just...just a little bit evil. Silver was a fantastic person overall, but insisted on making Vae be his opposite in almost every fashion, meaning that as much as Rodias loved grouping up with Silver, the prospect of an interaction with Vae meaning a new undead overlord terrorizing the countryside was a bit mortifying, to say the least. He didn't really care at the moment what happened to the people around the Chateau, but right now, maintaining cohesion was paramount to survival. As such, when it came time for Vae's task, Rodias would say: "Vae Dhayar, I would like for you to amass your White Legion. I've no doubt that where there are people, there are civilizations with more arms than they have sense. As such, I feel that it is important to be ready to deploy en masse where needed. You have full authorization to raise the corpses of the surrounding area within reason."
The Vampire lord didn't know when he'd need that army, but he was definitely sure that he'd be needing it sometime. And hopefully before Vae found a good reason not to obey orders. His alignment was towards evil, but his Lawfulness meant that he at least followed a code. A promise to him was something that meant a lot, and Rodias would strive to earn his loyalty permanently.
Once he had Ashara and Kath side by side, Rodias would bow his head to Kath, stating: "I apologize for insisting on this plan, Kath. I understand how important the security of your library is to you. However, rest assured: I will personally watch over your collections while you are away. Ashara, I assume that your shrine maidens will be alright without you for a day or two. If not, then let them know that they have permission to directly ask for my aid."
Rodias sought to assuage any potential worries that the two women may have, given that neither were designed to really LEAVE the Chateau. But the reality of it was, having two pretty women under the guise of adventurers arrive in town who, out of most people in the guild had the most stable personalities, was a much better idea than only sending one with Salem. After all, traveling with a child was strange, and a dangerous prospect in just about any world. Kath didn't have a perfectly human appearance, but any negative attention she would gather would serve to further Rodias' understanding of the world as it was.
"I would have you both wait near the entrance of the town, then approach from the main road as if you two were normal travelers. If anybody questions you, say that you are novice soldiers of fortune looking for work. Avoid answering any questions of where you come from, and try to learn as much as possible. And remember: Let violence be your last resort. Retreat if need be. Understand?"
With all of his necessary orders delivered, Rodias would give a flourish of his wrist across the table, spreading splotches of beast blood across the paper. "Let today be the first day of our new beginning. When the sun rises, we'll begin our surveillance of the village. As for the rest of you, begin your tasks effective immediately. Especially Kaldorna. I do not want to know if sunlight affects your hunters as it did in our home. You are all dismissed. Graft, Salem, I will meet you both in the foyer. Kaldorna, please have an attendant ready to bring out some of your beasts for me to spar with. I will be with you all in a moment."
In the next moment, the last Sable Lord would slowly begin making his way down the elevator. Not down the one intended to swiftly transfer people to the throne room from their floors, but rather, the one and only entrance and exit to Chuunitrixx's realm.
He truly hated it. This feeling of nostalgia he felt as he overlooked the ruined, writhing cityscape. That back that constantly faced this exit, that seldom failed as the last line of defense. Rodias always felt a bittersweet sense of longing for this place, but every footstep on the dusty ground made him remember too much. Both himself, and his character didn't want to be here.
"Are you alright? I've never heard you go off like that. Even before then," Rodias would say, stepping closer to the sniper before hesitating just a moment.
...He missed all of them. Every single last member, even the quiet weirdos that just showed up to watch other people talk. But more than that, he missed the one person who carved their image into the guild the most. Traptrixx had been one of his best friends, and to constantly have an imitation of her present at all stung. But the idea that maybe she was suffering the same mental problems made him want to scream.
I'll be getting my post up tomorrow (Tuesday), after turning in my portfolio final.
I know that @Enkryption has his post ready to drop before I post mine for chronological reasons, but @Archangel89 if you want to make a post before I do, let me know. I know you said work has been busy, so I won't begrudge you if you can't make one this week.
@SubjectVision Made an application that has been accepted, but they haven't posted the full sheet to the character tab yet or posted in a while. If theydon't post by the end of the week, then you can apply for the position of 3rd Chapter Keeper. Or, if you like, you could try and think up a position within the guild hall for one of the Miscellaneous npcs (Ie: Gardener, High Cleric, Vault Keeper, etc.) and apply for that!
So long as you get it out before the next GM post and it doesn't go out of its way to move the entire scene elsewhere, then I see no reason why not. Would also logically depend on the scenario, but if Graft has anything to say to the other characters' responses, then feel free to.
