Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

Youmu paused for a few moments, listening to the responses from the foxgirl and the boy in green. The diminutive silver-haired half-phantom considered their words for a few moments, her phantom half drifting behind her from shoulder to shoulder as she thought. They'd all been brought here by some kind of strange doors... was this an incident affecting both the outside world and Gensokyo at the same time? That sounded like it would be pretty dangerous, given how many it would potentially endanger. Less so for those within Gensokyo and more for those outside of it, though. There were a lot of totally ordinary people outside, and this certainly wasn't a totally ordinary place.

But before she could speak, Nanoha dispatched some sort of magical search system. It didn't take very long until some sort of indicator was displayed... with a... video?

Youmu was silent as it played out.

"... With no other leads," she began, after its conclusion, "I think that's our only option. I don't even know how to describe whatever it is we were just shown, but it must have been shown to us for a reason. If it's a threat to Yuyuko-sama, I can't ignore it, and that's what this looks like!"

With that, she turned to immediately head in the direction of the strange 'Hamlet'.

Ripples seemed to flow out from the spots on the map that Hibiki's fingers pressed against. In the act of zooming out, it seemed that the girl had activated something else, tapping one of the buildings in their immediate vicinity. Another window, indicating which building it was representing with a thin blue line, expanded with a hum.

In it, the words 'Will this night of the hunt ever end?' appeared, displaying themselves in English, kanji, and several other forms of writing in quick succession.

Rapidly following that were a series of various images. Hibiki, at least, would likely be able to compare them to the ad for some sort of movie or TV series. A figure in dark clothing wielding some sort of strange saw weapon, cutting through a sort of wolf-creature. A band of distorted men in old-fashioned clothing with lanky, hairy limbs wandering the streets of what appeared to be some sort of Victorian city, the cobblestones slick with rain.

A man with an axe, cutting through hordes of the deformed, hairy mob-goers, his eyes covered with bandages as he raised some sort of shotgun and fired, the aftermath hidden by a sudden cut...

To a little blonde girl, huddled alone in a dark room. She was in a fancy, frilly dress, and a small ponytail in a large ribbon could be seen on the back of her head.

There was something moving around outside of her window, but it seemed to disappear after a moment. She hugged her knees to herself harder.

Then, in the same multi-language fashion as it had before, the window gave a prompt.

'Can you save her?'

Now, an arrow pointed directly at the building in question, highlighted in red.

Would anyone be up for just restarting this? I feel like we may have gotten off to a rough start that made us stall out. Could maybe refill the slots we lost, too.
Saber - Benienma

It was the outcome she had expected, even if she had hoped for something else.

"... So be it," Benienma replied, simply, lowering her small frame as she squared her stance, grip tightening slightly on the hilt of her katana. Immediately the Berserker, body bloodied and injured, had lunged forward. His assault wasn't without skill... but she would demonstrate to him just what a Guardian and Judge of Hell was capable of.

The motion was smooth, and occurred in the blink of an eye. Indeed, were he watching, it was unlikely Jason would be able to understand just what had occurred. The diminutive redhead had drawn her blade and swung it in an arc, clashing with and deflecting Hijikata's own weapon in a shower of sparks. Using her own momentum, ponytail trailing behind her, Benienma rotated. Indeed, she was using her blade as leverage to push herself around and behind her opponent, between him and the boy he had effectively kidnapped.

Her platform geta skidded across the ground for a moment, and she smoothly sheathed her blade just as she had drawn it, hand still on the hilt.

"Behold, Hijikata Toshizo," she began, "This is the battoujutsu of Benienma dechi!"

There was a backdraft through the alley as she rocketed forward, launching herself directly towards her opponent at top speed, hand moving to draw her blade and cut through him in a single motion! She was not so arrogant to believe she had guaranteed success, but she had to attempt to make this strike deadly, to limit the danger to any nearby civilians!

Saber- Arturia Pendragon, Kobayashi Seria, and Bradamante

Lancelot's performance was just as she had expected. Arturia knew that the skilled display was nothing more then what she always knew the knight to be capable of. During the days of the Knights of the Round table, he had time and time demonstrated his incredible capabilities in combat over and over. And so, the manner in which he countered Bradamante's assault was exactly what she had thought she was about to see. Lancelot was well-versed in such things, after all.

Mordred's assault was more wild and careless. In all honesty, that was just was Arturia had expected as well. However... even if it was crude, it seemed that the red Knight was not without some measure of thought in her assault. Using misdirection by empowering her weapon(for a moment, Arturia truly had worried that Mordred was about to lose her temper and try and use her Noble Phantasm, something she would have jumped in immediately to prevent) then instead using a strike from the pommel showed thought and strategy, rather than pure recklessness.

It wasn't as if Chiron's comments were untrue, however.

Seria could no longer contain herself. After that display, after the way in which Mordred had specifically addressed her, the manner in which the knight had declared how she would show her power for her sake... the pigtailed girl just couldn't stay quiet any longer. How could she, after all?

After having been silent all this time...

"GO GET HIM, MORDRED!" cried Seria, thrusting her fist into the air and leaping out of her seat as she did.

Bradamante, on the other hand, immediately noticed the small gape in Lancelot's defenses. Had he really left that there without realizing...? No, no there was no way she could ignore it! To do anything less would be disrespectful to the Knight of the Lake, wouldn't it!? Using her shield to keep a barrier between herself and her opponent, the unusual star-shape held up and at an angle, the paladin threw herself forward with a thrust of her spear!

It was around this time, almost every day, that the school bells rang and students headed off to spend the rest of their day however they chose to. Some workers were released from their shifts, and others were just starting them. All in all, it was a perfectly average day in the peaceful town of Minazawa. Day in and day out, it was the routine as usual. This wasn't to say that nothing enjoyable or exciting ever happened, but nothing out of the ordinary occurred in the town, either. At least, not really. Certainly there were plenty of myths and rumors, but no-one really believed in those, right?

On most days you could be forgiven for thinking otherwise.

Just like any other day in Minazawa, given the temperature was pleasant and there was no sign of unpleasant weather on the horizon, there was a plethora of people investigating the reported mysteries. From the vanishing alleyway, to sightings of the beautiful vampire in the entertainment district, to the hidden district, there were all kinds of investigations. One in particular was a reported encounter with at a kuchisake-onna, the scissor-wielding specter reportedly stalking the back alleys of the town in search of anyone who was out late at night. The local high school's paranormal investigation club was all over that particular rumor. Not that they had any idea what they'd do if they actually found a kuchisake-onna, but damn it, they would try all the same! Other recent highlights in the Minazawa mythology were the rumor of a kitsune in the form of a beautiful woman hanging around the old abandoned shrine at the edge of town, one that had sadly fallen to a raging fire many years ago.

Another favorite was the tale of some form of spider woman. Then, of a female oni living on the edge of town. A particularly striking rumor that even the most staunch nonbelievers couldn't ignore, however, was the daylight lightning strike.

It was less a rumor and more a fact. Everyone had seen it, but there was not a cloud in the sky. Thankfully, no-one had been hurt, but indeed when the place it had apparently struck was investigated there was a smoking crater still left in the concrete. While there were many people trying to come up with a rational explanation for the event, the supernatural one was fairly popular.

One girl in particular didn't seem to care for any of these investigations.

She thought them all to be rather foolish.

Midorikawa Fumie made her way past a few groups of both her peers and adults, one in particular investigating a 'mysterious' set of stairs that apparently had one more step on the way down then they did on the way up. It was something she'd never paid attention to, simply because she knew better then that.

Her bag carried by a strap over her shoulder, its long shape perfect for carrying something very important to her, Fumie reflected on recent occurrences. There'd been a buzz among her fellow students about the daylight lighting strike, even moreso then the other strange rumors that circulated through the student body. Of course, that wasn't the only thing they were talking about. All sorts of subjects traveled from student to student, some Fumie preferred to hear about more then others.

The fact that she was so 'tiny and cute' was not one of the ones she liked hearing about. Really, it made the black-haired girl quite irritable whenever she heard someone mention it to her.

Fumie's height, to put it simply, wasn't a topic she liked to be reminded about.

However, for once, she was rather interested in the 'daylight lightning strike'. Or rather, interested in what caused it.

It was important, after all. Something like that could be awfully dangerous...

In any case, it was another day in the town of Minazawa. A town where some believed anything could happen.

And sometimes, maybe it did.

@Phonic@Raineh Daze@OliveYou@UndeadSpartan@TheFake: As a reminder, the RP is starting today!

Also as a note, @Rin has been having difficulties with her internet connection making it hard to work on the finalized version of her bio. as a result, I've permitted her to post in-character before finishing her character's bio, as she has discussed all the important details with me and they are simply not formally compiled.
There wasn't an immediate response, but that could simply mean that Shining Fist was busy and didn't have time to reply at the moment.

"I'm Hoshino Hikari," Hikari introduced herself, placing one hand to her chest as she spoke. "I might be new, but there's no way I'm going to let that hold me back."

She paused for a moment. Her family didn't expect her to come home immediately after she was done at school, so she had a little bit of time. And when it was something important like this, it only stood to reason that she'd take the time she had to try and help figure out just what the deal with this creeper really was.

"I have some time before I have to get home," she added, "Should we try and find that weird house again or something?"
