Due to Danny not paying as much attention to the others as he should it took him a few seconds to realize why the most nervous, rat May or something, jumped at Lorek. From what he could tell though she probably believed that he was trying to attack her and the other rodents instead of the lizard. Honetsly he was kinda confused about the whole thing too, the lizard showed no signs of aggression after all.

He hoped that he didn't have to end up choosing sides, but if he did he would try to stick with the rats. After all being in a bigger group would greatly increase his odds of survival. Though that was assuming they wouldn't try to kill his fellow Wisp. He knew it was kinda hypocritical given the dead Goblin he was responsible for, but he felt that killing someone from Earth without good reason was wrong. On the other hand the bigger rat seemed to be just a normal monster and he couldn't really blame it if it did try but if none of the sentient rats would try to stop it he would have to take care of it.

Asteria

So, her sister's name was Mei. Judging by her introduction, she was either shy or still struggling with proper pronunciation due to her being a rat. The male Dire rat introduced himself as Edward and he seemed the type to try and lighten the situation just to fail utterly. It was a bit embarrassing even just witnessing his awkwardness, but thankfully the moment passed quickly. Their Mother squeaked at her children and included Ed, though he wasn’t her blood kin. Asteria recognized she wanted them to go back inside to safety, which wasn’t too terrible of an idea, though the Wisps would likely not be welcomed by Mother. She turned around to try and conclude their meeting, when one of the Wisps, Lorek, swiftly descended and seemed to target something for an attack. Asteria wasn’t sure what, but was rather startled when Mei charged at him, yelling at him to stop. Did she honestly think he was about to attack them? In Asteria’s mind that was an odd conclusion to jump to, seeing as they were all former humans…Though that didn’t mean that some wouldn’t be hostile. Still, she wished her sister wasn’t quite so reckless.

Asteria went closer to their Mother, deciding that she would provide backup from behind Mei if she had to, but more importantly, wanted to hold a position which would enable the trio of Dire rats to escape back to their previous location, the burrow leading to the dug-out chamber. Asteria wouldn’t mind if Ed were to go with them, but seeing the conflict, he escaped. She was of half a mind to track him down and reason with him, but she could do so after this conflict was resolved. Hopefully, none of them would get killed, but the other Wisp, Danny, floated on the sides somewhat menacingly. He was apparently content to simply observe for now, just as Asteria was, but him assisting the other Wisp wasn’t out of the question. Asteria put her left paw into Mother’s fur, squeaking softly at her, hoping to convey that they should just wait for now and help Mei escape if it was needed. Then, knowing Dire rats had exceptional senses, she concentrated on her sight, hearing and even tactile senses so she could properly react to any further developments in this unfortunate situation.

Naji

"...really? You’re going to threaten me with removing the one thing keeping me trapped?” Naji asks, somewhat dumbfounded at the lizard’s attempt to sound terrifying. The tone was right, but she hadn’t really managed to say anything he wasn’t ecstatic to hear. A muffled cry echoed from behind the lizard, too small a voice to be anything of real concern (well, to him atleast.) The lizard whips around hissing a threat at the unseen new comer. It was...really concerned with being scary it seemed. God knows why.

“I’m ok with you taking the crystal. Take all the crystals you want. Hell, there is a stalactite in the back. Have that too. I’m sure its a manners whatzit to...” He says weakly, the attempt at being sarcastic falling fairly flat given the weak and tepid tone of the speaker. He really didn’t have the energy to argue the issue with the lizard and, frankly, it was welcome to whatever it wanted that wasn’t him. “All I want is out. And food. So please lets just...save the theatrics to that demon king jack off yea?” He adds, hoping to ease the lizard into letting him go before things flew thoroughly off the handle.

Mourningstar opened her eyes to find herself surrounded by monsters. It was only after a few deep seconds that she was able to stop panicking and remember where she was. Who she was. Mourningstar, a Wisp who was given a second chance by the Demon Lord. These were her... allies. Yeah, that's probably the best term. These were her allies who were following her. For how long? Who knows, but they were her allies regardless. She floated over them and out of the hole, her stomach grumbling slightly as she realized how hungry she was. The Wisp corpse from yesterday was gone, no surprise there. Must mean they are edible. Should've eaten it while she had the chance. "Oh god what am I doing?" A much lighter voice escaped her lips as she began to shiver in fear. "I'm completely alone in a new world, a baby monster, and the first thing I do is declare myself leader of a whole group of monsters strong enough to kill me. What the fuck is wrong with you Ami?" She muttered to herself as she began to pace back and forth, worrying over how today was going to go. "Alright, no backing out now. You've gotten yourself into this hole, only thing left to do is keep digging. Either you find gold or you made a nice grave. Oh god oh god oh god..."

She wasn't cut out for this type of position, the goblin probably could lead better than she could. Maybe she should just give up the position to someone else? Apologize for her behavior and fall into line. No. She didn't get her second chance at life just to live it like her original life. She was Mourningstar now. A lowly Wisp for now, but she would claw her way up the ranks. She would become a mighty general for the Demon Lord. She would be something dramatic and cool, like an Archdemon or something. Yeah, she wasn't going to be the pathetic hollow shell she was. "Alright Ami. You got this. Fake it until you make it right? Keep the ball rolling, they may not like you for now but they probably respect you a little. You saved one of their lives after all. You're trustworthy, build on that."

With her self pep-talk done she began working on her skill again. Form a sword out of magic. Focus. Imagine the blade, it's sharp edge, it's weight, the length. Now make it reality. If she ever felt low on mana she would look around for a magic crystal and use it, but otherwise she poured all of her focus into the sword. She worked on that until everyone else woke up, Digbie woke up about an hour after she did but everyone else was still asleep. Digbie got right back to digging, weird little thing. Maybe he sensed something, who knows. She made sure to do a quick Magic Analysis on him while he was digging just to see what he was up to, but right after that she got right back to her skill. Be the sword. Her magic is the sword. The sword is in you, now you just have to bring it out.

Within the stony tunnel Orochi slowly began to stir. His crimson eyes reluctantly revealing themselves as a noise somewhere between a hiss and groan involuntarily escaped the groggy lizard. It took a few moments but he eventually managed to gather the willpower to stand up, and stretch his jade scale clad form. Mere moments after standing up, it hit him. The feeling of hunger coursed through Orochi, animalistic instinct telling him to go out, kill and feast.

In fact, there was the perfect target still sleeping right next to him. The pixie wouldn't see it coming, it wouldn't even have time to react if he struck true. He crept closer to the winged creature who was looking more tempting a target by the second. All Orochi needed to do was clamp down on it and make sure it couldn't get away, and then he could sate his hunger...

Hold on... that's Oberon! W-what the hell am I thinking!? Orochi jumped back as he realized just what he was about to do. He'd met up with a group of others like himself yesterday. Other mortal souls that had been reincarnated as monsters at the whims of the Demon King, Oberon was one such former human and here Orochi was about to... No! I cant do that! Not to another person... The lizard thought to himself as he shook his head, in a twofold attempt to both awaken himself further as well as remove himself from that terrible train of thought.

A reverberating voice from deeper within the tunnel caught Orochi by surprise as he turned to face its source. The goblin of their party,
the appropriately named Digbie had carved out this little outcropping last night and it seemed that he wasn't satisfied with just that. The scattered and shattered stones creating a literal trail of carnage that was left in the goblin's wake as he tunneled onward. The amount of rock that he had chipped away was staggering, almost colossal from Orochi's point of view.

"Wow... that's a lot of progress. I guess you're called Digbie for a reason huh?" The lizard responded as he started walking towards the mouth of their little alcove.

The chuunibyou wisp Mourningstar was not far from the entrance and looked to be practicing some form of spell. He looked on as he recalled his vain attempt to utilize his scribe skill yesterday. Evidently he needed to learn an actual spell before that skill would be of any use, but how would a lizard go about that? He didn't exactly have innate ability like the wisps and pixies that inhabited this cave. Though for now it could wait, he supposed. His top priority at the moment was food and his compatriots would likely agree with him that they should deal with that need sooner rather than later.

" Ahh what a glorious cave morning, a new day is here and everyone is trying to kill each other. I don't know about you guys, but I think we should go find ourselves some breakfast. Wouldn't you agree?" He said to the others as he gave as best a grin that his lizard body could manage.

Xiao Mei, Asteria, Edward, Lorek, Danny

Exploring Near Crystals and Cave Walls (D1)
@SilverPaw@Jobst@Bishop@Searat@Duthguy

While the group made conversation, Lorek suddenly yoinked two of the few crystals remaining in the cluster, and made off towards what seemed to be just a random lizard that had come across the group and decided it best not to interfere with such a gathering. For whatever reason--the hunt, or perhaps solely to practice on a living target--Lorek was off in pursuit, and he focused all of his energy into a single Mana Orb. He could only cast it twice to begin with, but the essential effect seemed to be that he simply layered one sphere of energy on top of the other. It popped like an electrical surge as it raced through the air, striking the Fanged Lizard in the back. The creature squealed as it was knocked over, rolling until it came to a stop with its legs kicking in the air. It was severely wounded, and struggling to right itself…

You have no MP remaining.
System:Lorek

But just as Lorek might have prepared to consume a crystal or further engage his target, Xiao Mei suddenly pounced from behind with a startling cry. Why was she attacking? Was she scared? Had she mistaken Lorek’s intentions? There was no time to discover why, but Lorek barely registered her shout before he felt the sharp pain of her incisors penetrating his body. The soft, spongy flesh beneath the aura of his glow gave way like a cream-filled pastry, only instead of sugary goodness and synthetic egg batter it was his very life’s blood filling his attacker’s mouth. As Xiao Mei fell back to earth and took a piece of him with her, Lorek was left in a very bad situation.

WARNING! Your HP is low!
System:Lorek

And with this, chaos broke out among the tiny group. Ed took off at a run, darting between the rocks in the way his instincts told him would provide cover from predators. Danny seemed to freeze up, his indecision over who to side with and what to do turning him into a statue. Mother Rat dropped onto all fours, hackles raising with an angry hiss as she sensed that they were about to hunt the weakened Wisp, but then Asteria tried to calm her down. The vermin matriarch looked at her offspring in confusion, tilting her head, then looked back at Xiao Mei and Lorek with the same lack of understanding. For now she stood down, but there was a tenseness to her body that told she was ready to spring at any time. Her ears twitched warily in Danny’s direction, and her tail lashed back and forth like a coiling whip.

Meanwhile, the Fanged Lizard Lorek had attacked managed to flip itself over--and what was more, another Fanged Lizard came rushing out of the rocks this one had been running towards. A mate, perhaps? Both of them seemed focused on the heavily wounded Wisp, and each spat a glob of poison through the air at him. In the sudden rush of adrenaline all around the group, the purple spheres of hissing ooze seemed to travel in an arc towards Lorek in slow motion…

And things certainly didn’t calm down for Edward, either, after he took off running. Though with his burst of speed he soon left the group behind, he suddenly found himself stumbling upon something even more potentially dangerous. In the early morning of the cave, those who woke up first had the advantage. A good night’s sleep was healing, and those who got the drop on any creature that was still groggy could easily score themselves a meal for the day. In this race of survival, in a cave filled with so many different creatures, every so often a situation like this would occur.

That is, a total free for all.

In front of Ed unfolded a bloody scene. Two Dire Rats, not at all dissimilar to the two females and their mother he had just left, were acting as a pack and attempting to hunt a Goblin. The Goblin had nothing to its name but a blunt looking rock clutched in one fist, which it used to bludgeon the first rat that leaped at it. But the second rat darted in from behind and, with its densely muscled body and its sharp fangs and claws, tore a chunk of flesh from the meaty part of the goblin’s calf. The green creature screamed and went down to one knee, not quite out of the fight but certainly crippled for the moment. However, before the second dire rat could go in for the kill, a Wisp seeking to take advantage of the situation shot it with a Mana Orb from afar, hitting the unaware creature in the side and knocking it over. The goblin turned at the sound of the magic sparks, and in what seemed to be panic simply threw its rock--which landed right on target, knocking the Wisp to the ground in what seemed like a daze. Then, in a seemingly unrelated event, a Fanged Lizard and a Slime literally wrapped together in mortal combat--the slime trying to digsest the lizard, the lizard’s caustic venom coating the slime’s outer surface and discoloring it as the poison damaged it over time--came tumbling over a rock and rolled right down into the middle of the melee.

Each of these creatures seemed severely weakened as they struggled with one another. Would Ed join the bloodbath, or wait for them to notice him?

Asura, Edith, Scott

The Pool (D2)
@Kazemitsu@ShwiggityShwah@CollectorOfMyst
Your efforts have produced a Skill!
Skill Gain: Limited Shapeshift I
By practicing the manipulation of your body, which Slimes are naturally predisposed for, you gained this skill. You cannot alter the total size, texture, or consistency of your body. You also cannot alter your body’s primary qualities--you cannot become “sharp” or “hard,” for example. At this level, complex structures are too difficult. But making yourself into a rolling sphere, a flat puddle, or shaping your pseudopods would all be possibilities, plus more. This skill consumes Stamina, not MP.
System:Edith

As Edith finally managed to paddle her way out of the pool, all but the unfortunate fish she had managed to catch darted away from her in fright. Down, down in the depths of the pool, something that might have been a much bigger fish, or something else, began to drift across the bed deep below the water. But now she heard a voice, and called out to it.

As Scott flew nearby the pool, towards the oddly behaving Fanged Lizard he had seen, he would hear the slime’s softer and more feminine voice--something rather unusual in this new world of gruff growls and shrill squeaks--calling out to him. Sound carried better over the water, so it wasn’t quite clear how far or how close the two were to each other, but if the flying pixie looked he could probably see the two slimes, as each of them were a fairly bright color amidst the dark rocks and the green plantlife.

There was, as Edith had surmised, indeed a series of trails through the herbs and moss growing around the banks of the pool and along the cave grounds. Several creatures, including slimes, had passed through here in the last long while...but if the specific slime they were looking for was the one that had produced offspring, it stood to reason that it would probably be bigger. And there was indeed one slime trail, like a railroad leading towards the trainyard, that was easily two or three times bigger than the others. It led off into the distance, into a darker corner of the cave far away from the bonfire, the entrance, and the pool, towards an area even seemingly without any Mana Crystals...

Jason

The Hole in the Wall (D2)
@Guy0fV4lor

As Jason opened up the entrance to his little hidey hole the first time, and left to gather Mana Crystals and munch on goblin remains, he did not become aware upon re-entering his home base that something else had come in while he was away. Without a second thought towards his own security, he blocked himself in, grabbed several of the crystals from his storage, and began working on his tunnel. His unknown houseguest watched from its hiding place, a crevice in the rock wall it had forced its body into in order to hide from Jason’s sight. It was puzzled at first, as of course it didn’t understand what this oddly behaving Slime was doing, or even how it was doing such a thing as tunneling through the very walls of the cave. But as Jason disappeared into the tunnel and began to work his way upward, the creature quietly moved out of the crevice and, with slow and careful efforts, made for itself an exit in the rock pile Jason used as the impromptu door of his shelter. Jason didn’t seem to notice if any of the rocks tumbled or made a sound, and now the thing had a way out in case things went badly for it. Even a wild animal knew enough to always have an escape route ready.

By this time Jason had almost completed his tunnel to a proper sniper’s bay--but before he could set his finger on the trigger, so to speak, with Crispy in his sights...something hot and painful seared into him from behind!

In the tight, cramped corners of the cave, it was difficult for him to turn, much less to fight. And now, as he did turn, the Wisp staring at him from the opposite end of the tunnel chittered in what seemed to be a laugh of triumph, before it began to glow with another prepared Mana Orb aimed right at Jason’s slimy face...

Rain

Nearby the Hole in the Wall (D2)
@Old Amsterdam

As Rain pooled venom in her mouth, unknowingly doing the opposite of Ash who had tried to make her shots smaller and faster, she lobbed a huge glob of poison at the unwary Pixie. It almost didn’t go quite high enough--but she managed to splatter her target in the back as it fluttered along.

It wasn’t quite clear what was worse, the way the Pixie’s scream sounded so much like a human child, or the way the acid began to eat and burn away at the flesh in such a sickening manner...or the way something crunched and broke when the Pixie’s tiny body, its wings slathered in acid, fell to the ground.

At least Rain’s second shot put a swift end to the creature’s misery. Though now she had to deal with looking at parts of its exposed skeleton as the acid ate even further at the flesh.

Orchid

Looking to Trade (D2)
@Lucius Cypher

As Orchid headed for the bonfire, Crispy was there as always, though there were only three other goblins in sight. These had been assigned the duty of chopping and splitting what wood was left into smaller pieces, perhaps in the mistaken belief that having more pieces of wood meant that the fire could be kept burning longer. They whittled away with sharpened stones, but as Orchid approached--not only wearing rudimentary clothes, not only carrying what was possibly the coolest weapon any of them had seen, and not only being female but also carrying an odd lump of clay--they all stopped what they were doing and looked up with awe. Even Crispy stopped dancing in front of his fire to look at her.

“Oi! You da only youngling dat made it back?” The goblin now took her in fully, and put one yellow tipped finger on his chin in thought. “Huh, you...you done good, huh?” Seeming to appraise her, he walked around in a circle. “Did you make dat?” he pointed at the sword. “And...what’s all da mud for?” The goblin seemed extremely interested in what had transpired since the last time he saw Orchid, but it didn’t look like he was going to immediately try and take her items from her--possibly because he didn’t understand what she was doing with them yet, and possibly because he didn’t seem to use many weapons of his own aside from the torch he was always carrying--which by now was beginning to burn a little short. His interest seemed to be that solely of one intellectual towards another...for a given value of intellectual, at least.

Digbie, Mourningstar, Oberon, Orochi

The First True Party (D2)
@King Cosmos@CriticalHit@Gardevoiran@floodtalon

As Digbie did what he was best at throughout the night, his line of thinking seemed to pay off.

You are experiencing a fast rate of Skill Progression.
System:Digbie

But by morning all this digging was taking its toll.

Your Stamina is low. You are exhausted. You are thirsty. You are hungry. Your MP is depleting.
System:Digbie

Nonetheless, he had gotten quite far with his tunneling, and now his little base camp could perhaps be considered an actual sub-cave, easily big enough for himself and all his companions to sleep in and perhaps store some loot. Of course, its opening was far too large at the moment...and what was he going to do with all this loose dirt that he had been digging out?

While Oberon presumably slept and Orochi spoke of getting breakfast, Mourningstar had risen early and, seemingly ignoring Digbie, began to practice the same magical activity she had attempted yesterday--and this time she had better results.

Your efforts have earned a new skill!

Skill Gain: Mana Shape I
You can shape your raw Mana into the appearance of something. At this rank, your Mana does not have weight, force, or other physical qualities. Your Mana cannot produce sounds. Your Mana cannot move freely. Your mana can have its color changed. Your shapes must be relatively simple with no moving parts. The shape cannot be held for long without more MP.
Mourningstar

But now she turned her attention from that task to using her Magic Analysis on Digbie.

You used Magic Analysis I!
Magic Analysis I’s effectiveness is reduced to 25%. This is a Monster.
You have analyzed this Monster before. Effectiveness increases to 35%.

This is a Goblin. Goblins are capable of Magic. This Goblin is unusual. He has one magically oriented skill. His skill seems related to the Earth element.
Mourningstar

Reoth

On the Hunt (D2)
@Kangutso

As Reoth tried to make his way across the cave, he would often find it difficult to stay out of sight from other predators. His white body stood out like a sore thumb among the darker colored rocks, and even in dark places would reflect the soft lights from any nearby Mana Crystals. But, he did eventually get good enough and fast enough that he could work about as well as any other Fanged Lizard--it just became very clear that, going forward, he would probably need to do a little extra work to remain hidden.

His hunt for something more filling than bugs, however, soon found him stalking a different kind of buzzing thing. A Pixie, roughly a foot tall with brightly colored hair, flitted through the air with its dragonfly wings like a dancer. It seemed to be paying little attention to the ground, and the white lizard, below it...

Ash, Naji

Nearby the Pool (D2)
@Rune_Alchemist@ghastlyInc

Ash found the Mana Crystal easy enough to break off, and as she did so the poor, nearly starved pixie inside the crevice was finally free! A voice, calling to them from somewhere closer to the pool, echoed across the cave--but it seemed that same voice was answered by another nearer to the water, one that sounded distinctively feminine--even more than Ash. Then again, she probably wasn’t given to adding such a sickly sweet facade to her conversations.

As she intently examined the Crystal, her newly upgraded Alchemy Skill activated.

You used Alchemy II!
Effectiveness reduced to 80%. This is a solid Material, though it can be used in Alchemy.
---Mana Crystal---
Small Item. Solid. Crystalline. Brittle, can be easily broken or powdered. Low Hardness, can be easily scratched and does not hold up well against pressure. Very Low Sharpness, will not hold an edge. Magical, highly reactive, non-elemental. Mostly Stable.
You have used this item once in a reaction with Fanged Lizard Venom.
---Analysis Complete---
System:Ash

Meanwhile, though he was free, Naji had some problems of his own to deal with.
Your Stamina is very low. You are exhausted. You are dehydrated. You are Starving. Your MP is almost depleted. Your HP is starting to deplete.

Mourningstar grinned as she heard the familiar pop of a notification, but the grin quickly faded as she read over the contents of said notification. Just an illusion spell, nothing solid like she wanted. It didn't matter really though, it was a new skill regardless. One to be practiced and tweaked in order to gain the results she wanted. A small silver knife formed in front of her, quickly dissipating due to her low mana storage. "If I'm to create a true item from mana alone, I will need- wait!" Another idea popped into her mind as she began to form a Mana Shot, but instead of simply letting it loose she held it in. She tried to shape the Mana Shot, form it into something sharper and thinner than the normal Mana Shot. She had been going about this the wrong way, rather than trying to invent an entirely new skill she could have been working with what she already had!

Her focus wasn't even broken by the loud grumbling of Digbie and Orochi as they came to the conclusion that they needed some food. "Alright, test run one. Mana Sword, form!" She cried out as she pushed out her altered Mana Shot. Regardless of what came out she would try to fire another Mana Sword, rushing to whatever scattered crystals were around in order to refill her mana until she got what she was shooting for. This continued for about ten more minutes before her own stomach interrupted her. "Alright soldiers. Let's go find some food!"

Orchid looked at the goblins gathered and smiled to herself. Good. They were in awe of her, if only for a little. She needed to utilize this momentum while she could. Crispy eyed her equipment and seemed interested in her craft. With a steady voice she spoke to the goblins. ”I can make something you do not have. But to make it, I need something only you have.” Orchid looked towards his torch. She set the clay down onto a flattish rock, wiping her hand of the clay before pointing towards the fire. ”I want to know how you make fire. Your magic. I try to make fire but it is hard and difficult. I know fire can do muchz make much. With fire… We goblins can be so much stronger. But only if I know how you made it, how you control it. Teach me, and I shall teach you what I know.” Orchid took her sword and stabbed it into the ground.

”I have been in this cave for only a week. But I have seen much. And I know how much of a struggle it is for us goblins. We don’t have magic. We aren’t strong. And a lot of us aren't that smart.” Orchid looked to the three goblins who were obviously just here as muscle. She removed the makeshift bandage on her shoulder to show the goblins her scars. Though the herbs healed most of the damage they could still see the ugly hole where she was stabbed. ”Alone we are weak. A few of us might become strong, like Rattleskull or you, Crispy. But if we don’t work together and share our power? We will die, like all the other goblins before us. Teach me how you make fire. And I will teach you how to make weapons, armor, and many things that will make us goblins rule this cave. And then the world!” Orchid walked back to her sword and held it in her hand, leaning against it. She looked to Crispy and then the other goblins. She looked stern and bigger than she really was. Like she was ready for a fight.

They were all previously human he thought, they were all in this situation together, in a foreign land trying to survive against common enemies. How naive of him, who had seen the worst of humanity, been a part of it. It was funny actually. The reason he chose this creature, a wisp, is because it was the closest thing to being pure in his eyes. A literal spirit, a new beginning, a chance to be reborn and be forgiven his past crimes. And so, by trying to overlook his past he had also overlooked each of their pasts'. All those humans trapped in monstrous bodies, he had forgiven them as he had forgiven himself.
But to begin with, what type of humans would the Devil himself choose as his champions if among them he was also chosen?

He had been too careless. This whole thing felt like a dream. A floating glowing fur ball that shoots orbs of magic? Which can absorb crystals to replenish energy? He had been half asleep this whole time. The pain gave him a wake up call. This was all very real and very painful. Even the time when a bullet pierced straight through his shoulder couldn't compare to this, to this feeling of being eaten, consumed.

"WRETCHED VERMIN"
- the wisp yelled with whatever voice it had from wherever it came from as the rat ripped a chunk of flesh from his body. The shock almost made him drop his crystals but his mental fortitude and pain tolerance inherent from his other life were higher than that of the average person. That pain didn't make him black out or freeze in place unable to do anything. Turning around ,while a crystal in his grasp vanished, ready to attack he stopped once he gave a quick glance to his surroundings...
The situation was that he was surrounded by monsters. Each and every one of them. Humans? Don't make him laugh. Look at those filthy diseased looking rats with their stained teeth and mouths. Their mouths stained with blood, his blood...
Even before his mind decided, his body had already taken the initiative to make a hasty retreat as soon as the flesh and blood disconnected from his body.

As the lizards attacked him, throwing poison like it was spit, he made to dodge the projectiles while running. The poison globes had a visible arched trajectory which he would try to read and to dodge accordingly. He dashed off keeping a balanced distance between the group he just left and the attacking lizards as he only looked but for a moment towards the path that he would take before turning to look back and keep track of both groups of enemies. His only hope was to make it to the lake. Unlike other creatures which had to swim to traverse water, wisps simply floated above it. From there, even if hostiles were still chasing him, they would be significantly slowed giving him room to create a large enough distance in order to safely retreat. The only problem would be the ranged attackers, specifically the lizards.

"So they do bleed." Mei thought to herself while scurrying backwards, conveying a look of what she thought was surprise with some worriedness mixed in. "What did I just do?" was the impression she was going for. It were times like this that Mei could fully appreciate her talents in lying and deception.

As blood continued to trickle down the sides of her mouth, Mei swallowed the spongy flesh she had torn off from Lorek, and prepared herself for another attack. Her mother was not a problem, but it was going to be difficult to explain to her sister why she attacked a second time. It was Mei's habit to be meticulous with these sort of things; leaving behind loose ends never did her any good. Well, that was something Mei had to deal with later. Or so she thought.

"Talk about lucky." Mei resisted the urge to let out a smirk as she saw the incoming bombardment from two lizards from afar. As much as she wanted to finish the wisp of herself, Mei couldn't risk getting hit by one of those ozzing globs. She saw what it did to their mother and had no plans of going through what she did.

While hurriedly running towards her fellow rats, Mei realized that given the features of a rat, portraying certain emotions with facial expressions could only go so far. She had to improve if she wanted to convince them. As she drew closer, Mei rushed in even faster, immediately burying herself in between her mother and Asteria. She made her body shiver as best as she could while increasing her rate of breathing, making each breath rapid and shallow.

Turning her head and briefly rubbing it against both rats, Mei gestured that she wanted to get away. Mei didn't know how she was going to deal with the other wisp. It remained motionless and non-aggressive despite what she had done to another wisp; Mei had no basis for attacking it, and honestly, the wisp posed no threat to them. It was best she just leaved it alone. Whether it would do the same or follow them, it didn't matter to Mei.

She was satisfied with everything she had learned and accomplished so far; she was fine with calling it a day.

Seeing the state Lorek was in snapped Danny out of his indecision. He had already decided that he had no intention of being responsible for the death of a fellow human. Despite that he doubted he was much help in a fight, leaving only one option. "Just try to stay alive, I'm going to get some of those healing herbs" He yelled at the fleeing Lorek though he had no idea if the other Wisp heard him. With that he took off both making sure to stay high enough in the air to be out of reach of the rats and taking a detour to avoid the poison of the lizards.

He had no idea if he would make it in time, so in order to increase his chances he flew the rest of the way as fast as he could in as straight a line as possible. Of course the downside of his rushing was that he once again didn't pay as much attention to his surroundings as he should, making it easier for a random monster to attack him unnoticed.

'Shit! Shit! Shit! Why the hell did Mei have to do that!' Ed thinks to himself as he leaps over a small pile of rocks before taking a sharp left turn. 'And things were going so well too!' Another left turn followed by a right. Numerous thoughts rushed in and out of his head as he frantically dashed away. Ed felt like he had ran a whole kilometer before he stopped to catch his breath. His breath was ragged and his pulse raced. Ed was no stranger to exercise and sports when he was human but this body was simply not yet used to the strain he wanted it to perform. Finally catching his breath, Ed looks to his surroundings and finds nothing familiar. Ed's heart sank. 'I-I'm nowhere near the nest...great. I'm lost.' Ed felt disheartened by his predicament but forded on, knowing that complaining will just prolong the issue.

Ed quietly moved along the cave floor, doing his best to at least appreciate the views this part of the cave offered. 'Hmm...maybe this isn't so bad after all. I mean, the sights are kinda nice and there were no monsters chasing me.' He felt a little happy and smiled for a moment. Only for a moment. The smile and the feeling quickly disappeared as he saw the bloodbath before him. The disbelief on his face contorted into a vicious snarl. 'Six Monsters. SIX GODDAMNED MONSTERS!? JUST MY FUCKING LUCK!' Ed thought, furious. He originally wanted to only investigate the strange glowing crystals near his nest. Simple as that; but instead, he was not only lost in a cave, he was lost in a cave with bloodthirsty monsters.

The cave -no the world- tested him. Seeing how far it could push and prod him before he would break. He glares upward. 'Tch, well too bad!' Ed refused to break, refused to give in. He would not only survive this night, he would WIN this night. His baleful gaze went upon the downed wisp. It was a ranged attacker from what he could observe earlier, not only that it was capable of attacking while floating. The ability to fly made it the top most danger to him, but its ability to do ranged attacks while doing so made it his priority target. Ed climbs onto a small pile of rocks and with as much power his body could offer him, he lunged at the fallen wisp with all intent to tear the thing to shreds with his claws and teeth.

Jacob, or maybe he should start thinking of himself as ‘Oberon’ slowly came around to consciousness. He felt groggy and lethargic, like he had been asleep for far too long, and when he looked around their little save he saw that he was indeed the last one to awaken. He also saw that their little cave was not so little anymore; it appeared that Digbie had been working away industriously to expand their living space while he was still sleeping.

Leaving the Goblin to his work Oberon walked out into the slightly large space of the crevice, where Mourningstar was once again working with her mana to create something; her efforts seemed to be producing some improved results compared to yesterday as he could see that whatever she was making had a more defined shape this time around. Whatever it was though it didn’t seem to be a new spell just yet, though his Magical Analysis did show that she had created a new skill called Mana Shape.

It seemed like everyone was working on something and it made him feel anxious. He had been practising like that yesterday, up until the Slime had attacked him and everyone showed up and he’d kind of lost track of things. It was probably time for him to start working on something himself and right now he couldn’t think of a better place to start than by trying to copy what Mourningstar was working on.

Sitting down on the ground outside their little cave within a cave, Oberon held his hands out in front of him and started to focus. He tried to bring forth some of his magical power, but without putting that power into one of his two spells; neither of his spells were quite like the magic missiles he had seen the Wisps use. Neither Minor Heal nor Shield they didn’t work by projecting something at the target, they just kind of did their thing without him ever really seeing the mana; an instant cast time. It meant he didn’t really have any basis to work with for this spell or anything like what he wanted to do, which was basically to create a ranged projectile like the Wisps had so he wouldn’t be completely helpless should he end up fighting something alone.

He wanted to start by just producing some mana first, shaping it into a ball, and then throwing that ball at something. After that, he had a couple of ideas.

Eventually, Mourningstar stopped practising and announced that they should find some food. Oberon stood, though he didn’t stop his own practise and turned back to shout into the small cave behind him. “Hey, Digbie. We’re going to go find some food.”

Asura shook his head, she had made herself to spherical. She was holding to rigidly to the thought of an actual ball. Sighing he watched her roll until she hit the water. "Hurry up and get out of that. Who knows what's in a cave pond around monsters." He called down to her while he traveled along the sloped shore. Using his body to cling to the surface as he moved. He kind of wondered if he could eventually do a wall cling since his body could find tiny...body holds that others would never be able to touch.

Edith called up from the water saying she was good but who knew how long that would last in this world. As he met up with her she must have heard something and called out to it. "You do realize just because you're a tank doesn't mean you should go calling out to random voices. Not everyone is as nice as I am." He stated, agitation was clear in his voice. They were slimes, melee units. Neither had trained in anything ranged related so a wisp with those crystals could be a problem. For her anyway, he was already building a magical resistances.

Shaking his 'head' he looked at the trails near the pond while he put a pseudopod in it. Might as well get a drink as he looked about. There were many trails but one stood out more. It was like his own, large and moving towards the back of the cave away from the goblin bonfire. "Do you want to wait around for your mysterious voice, or do you want to continue with our objective?" Asura questioned while he drank his fill of the water. By now all that was left of the rat from earlier was bits of bone. Could he digest bone? Didn't hurt to find out.

Near the Hole in the Wall

Rain watched in detached fascination at what pooling her venom had done to the little pixie. So much for breakfast, but...

She glanced back at the bonfire. She could use these 'skill points' on what she knew, make them better. That seemed fairly straight forward. Even if these visions weren't...

"Put five skill points into.... Poison Glob?" she said hesitantly. She'd continue different variations of that phrase until she had implemented her points, if necessary.

Moving to the remains of the Pixie, she'd look to eat any viable meat that might exist on the corpse, but she wasn't hopeful. At least she had ate not long before sleep.

Again she looked at the bonfire. Crispy was resistant to her basic spit, but....

She'd never seen anything cause such damage like what she had just done.

Yes. It was time.

Slithering closer, she gained her advantage as she had last time she'd got Crispy. And she was pleased to note there were only four other Goblins! That big one was gone, as were the rest. And other than that small female the other Goblins were too busy with wood to necessarily react quickly.

But... She'd need to get closer. This.... 'Glob' didn't have the same range her normal shot did. And her normal shot was, well, relatively useless against Crispy.

So she set forward, carefully and slowly, hoping her natural stealth would be sufficient to get her within range.

But now... She needed to wait for the right moment to strike. Not while he was talking with the female....

The Second Day - Scott

The lizard whipped around upon hearing him, and with a cool, slightly dangerous tone, spoke.

"This is my Crystal, Pixie. Go find your own."

Scott blinked at the sound. Well, that answered one thing - yes, the lizard could understand him, and communicate.

"What, that?" he asked, pointing, and trying to sound unafraid. The lizard could literally spit acid, and at this distance, he probably wouldn't be able to get out of the way. "I-I wouldn't mind doing just that, ah-actually. I wouldn't want to steal it from you. I was just wanting to... to talk."

His voice faltered as a second voice echoed in the cave.

"Hello! Come to the water!"

He turned on his heels, staggering backwards. He looked around fearfully, unable to tell where the voice had actually come from. He put a hand to his heart, eyes darting from side to side. As the echoes faded, he turned back to the lizard.

"I... sorry. I'm - kind of new to this."

His eyes went back to the crystal as he heard something behind it.

"Is... is there someone back there?"

He went a little closer.

"...atrics to that demon king jack..."

"Uhm... hello?" Scott said to the crystal.

@CollectorOfMyst@ghastlyInc - Pixie and Crystal dust

"...I see," Well, if he wasn't here to bother her then, she had no reason to be hostile. "Apologies. I've been looking for a good crystal for awhile. Couldn't take the chance that an impish pixie might take it." More importantly though, the one behind the crystal was stuck, was he? Well, she was going to take the crystal anyways so she might as well help him out. Turning back to the crystal, she propped herself up on it again.

---Analysis Complete---
System:Ash

Huhm.

Curious - more than she learned last time from the first level of it. No matter.

"And yes. Seems another Pixie got himself stuck behind there somehow." She mused. "Well, if neither of you are foe I see no reason not to help either of you - hold on a moment." Sinking her fangs into a section of the crystal, she was careful not to break it outright, instead taking a large chunk of it off from the base, holding it in her mouth and freeing the Pixie that had been trapped inside of it. If Pixies could use magic, and she had MP, then it goes to reason she should be able to learn it as well. She just needed to experiment with what exactly Mana was and how to use it.

"There we are," She spat the crystal back onto the ground. Actually...come to think of it, this could be a good chance! She didn't know where Ardur had gone, but perhaps she could learn from these two. "I'm not sure if I can help with your food problem, as I am working on a slightly tight schedule here." She tilted her head slightly to the side, letting her claw rest lightly on the crystal. "...I suppose you are from earth, since you mentioned this 'Demon king'. Humph, and here I thought I might have been special, hah." She chuckled before getting to the point of her being here. "I know we just met and all, but perhaps you two could help a lizard learn how to use magic?"

Asteria

Keeping her focus on observing and trying to discern the events, Asteria noticed the appearance of two lizards, who had been hidden from her line of sight previously by one of the cave’s columns. Perhaps that had been what Lorek had been targeting initially? It honestly mattered no longer, for he was obviously furious due to having been attacked by Mei. Her attack left him severely wounded and he ran away or rather, floated away swiftly. The two opportunistic lizards still seemed focused on attacking the weakest Wisp. The other one, Danny, followed his injured fellow. Just in case the lizards tried changing their minds about who they should attack, Asteria hissed at them menacingly, puffing up as best she could.

And while she was warning the pair of lizards away just in case, Mei rushed back to her and their Mother, shivering and snuggling in between them. “What did you think you were doing?” Asteria questioned her lowly, trying to keep the aggression and accusation out of her tone, but succeeded only partially. She took several deep breaths to dispel her frustration and continued on in a much calmer manner. “Whatever. It’s done now. This just cost us two or three potential allies though,” she muttered grumpily. Despite that, she brushed against her sister reassuringly. And that must have been based on her new instincts, because she couldn’t remember ever being so affectionate to someone who was basically a stranger – though technically a sibling. “I don’t know about you, but I want to track Edward down and see if at least some of this mess can be fixed.”

Alarms started going off in Jason's head. How the fuck did he not notice he had been followed? Was he going to die a second time? To a mere wisp at that?

Time seemed to stop as thoughts raced through his head. He was nearly out of options, and the wisp's second shot would likely kill him. Forcing as much mana as he could into [Stone Shot I], he launched his half-eaten goblin hand at the wisp, hoping it would at least block the mana orb.

The same moment the hand left his membrane, Jason sucked himself down, before throwing himself forward with everything he had, whilst simultaneously flattening out, attempting to dive under and behind the wisp; hoping, praying, that his plan would work.
