An @Ejected and @Severance Collab

After Shawna made her way to her posse, Aaliyah couldn’t help but feel time slow down all at once. The people adorned in masks and disguises all kind of melted and faded away, just leaving the glowing lights around her. There was no sound though, as if the scene had been muted by a TV remote. She drank in the tranquility that had ran through her veins, kissing at her exposed skin glistening in euphoric sweat. To anyone looking from outside the glass she probably just looked like a girl drunk as fuck and zoning out on just a few cups of punch. Slowly her mind came back to her trying to remember where she had left off and where she was meaning to go. For some reason the sound of Old Town Road had her thinking of cowboys. Life sprang back into focus, the sound blaring in her ear, “Chanel!” that’s right how could she forget. Her little rendezvous with Shawna had taken her away from Julie and Chanel, hopefully she could make it back in time before she even noticed. After all, Aaliyah did have a knack for being invisible.

Moving in what she thought was adeptly like an assassin was just her just marginally squeezing in between bodies, throwing whatever weight on her bones she had to help. Racing to the finish line she made it just in time, even with a second to spare to fix her crooked crown. Heavy is the head that wears the crown after all. Gasping for air she replied softly, “Oh yeah, I don’t think I could eat anymore either” the girl said gagging up some of her drink before forcing it down. She didn’t need Chanel to ask to know she was belligerent enough to do just about anything, “I might need another refill, partner” another joke probably failing to land.

The Monarch herself turned to face them grabbing Chanel first and pulling her into dance. To be perfectly honest, Aaliyah had no idea about the realms of men or what kissing and relationships meant. But if she did know one thing, its that she wanted to dance for the first time in her life and not just in the privacy of her shower. Tossing her cup behind her and cracking her neck she joined the two on the dance floor. It wasn’t a moment later that Julie had unexpectedly excused herself, confused Aaliyah drew closer to Chanel. In a not so quiet whisper yell she asked, “You think she’s alright? Where do you think she’s going? By the way this song is my jam!”

As the redhead stumbled away in a manner lacking the elegance and grace that typically characterized a monarch, Chanel found herself following her friend with her eyes until she was finally out of sight. Chanel didn't see it as an unusual occurrence for Julie MacMillan to take a quick break in between drinks and dances; so without thinking about the matter any further, Chanel simply shrugged her shoulders and refocused her attention on Aaliyah. "I'm sure she's fine," the young woman said with only a hint of hesitancy in her words. "She probably just needed to cool it for a second. I mean we were knocking these damn drinks back like they're water. Shit, I'm surprised that I'm still functioning." But as Chanel continued to dance around to the song that Aaliyah proclaimed as her "jam," she couldn't help but take a few quick glances in the direction that Julie had run off in.

Maybe it was the way that she'd planted a big fat kiss upon the lips of that painfully brainless jock earlier on that night, or perhaps it was the tone of her voice when she'd excused herself from her friends just a few moments ago. Hell, maybe it even had something to do with how she'd been seen staring in the direction of one of their newly returned friends. Either way, Chanel had known Julie for years, so it was natural that she had grown to be pretty good at reading her and detecting whenever something was on her mind. It may have taken her a few more moments to realize it thanks to the alcohol, but after having one last glance over at the back doors, she came to the conclusion that something wasn't right. "You know..." Chanel started again after the song had ended, "Maybe we should go check on her... just in case. Besides, I think we could both use a break, right?"

Still functioning, right, if that’s what you called what state the two of them were in. Lost in the rhythm of dance and music, her body went on autopilot while her brain focused on the conversation at hand. “You know I’m surprised I’m still sentient! I could have sworn I would have puked by now!” she exclaimed even though Chanel could hear her perfectly well. It wasn’t that she hadn’t arrived at that level yet, rather she was walking the tight rope between black out drunk and feeling right. She had some close calls with her heaving but the idea of Chanel holding her hair while she puked all over herself and cried left a mental image powerful enough to stop her. And besides, mama didn’t raise no bitch…or so she thought. “Did I ever tell you how much I worshiped you guys, you’re both like the prettiest girls in school and I look up to you both,” her sober thoughts coming to light in her drunken actions.

Aaliyah couldn’t really tell if Chanel was paying attention or not, but regardless her gaze stayed fixated on her matching her glances at the bustling crowd where Jules was swallowed into. Despite her state it was comforting to see that Chanel was just as human as she suspected and maybe Shawna was wrong about them using her. A small smile creased her cheeks as she nodded, “Yeah I think we do and maybe on the way you can tell me about what happened with that hunk of meat she kissed. I don’t think I’ve ever had a boy look at me.” The amount of information she was oversharing was embarrassing, if only she could see herself side by side. Before the next song started Aaliyah grabbed Chanel’s hand and led the way, only partially tripping over herself. Heels were still new territory and being drunk didn’t help, “I think I saw her go this way.”

As the two girls carefully made their way towards the back, the drunken cowgirl doing most of the aggressive shoving and cursing, Chanel began to tell Aaliyah all of the background information of the event that had transpired not too long ago. She started off by asking her if she remembered someone who went by the name of Aurelio, and ended the rundown by giving her the pep talk she'd been wanting to give her since the first day she'd laid eyes on her. "Girl, you're just as fucking pretty as Julie and I are. Hell, probably even prettier. Guys didn't not look at you because you're not gorgeous, they didn't because you don't think that you are... if that makes any damn sense." Chanel knew that it was the alcohol that caused her to ramble on without thinking much about what she was going to say. Nevertheless, she continued on. "I used to always see you in school walking around in your sweatpants, which we're gonna have to burn by the way, and your head held down. I think that tonight was the first night that I've actually seen you with a little bit of confidence outside of a damn chess match. And yeah that might just be because of the punch you drank but girl, haven't you noticed? Guys have been looking at you all night. I'm telling you, confidence goes a long way. And uh... cute outfits help, too."

Aaliyah somehow managed to end up behind Chanel wondering when she was the one being hogtied and wrangled around like some bandit. Regardless of how she got there, Aaliyah listened intently on the breakdown of what transpired between Julie and Aurelio. The muscles in the wetsuit was the same one she casually walked past after the assembly, when she attempted to say hi mid stroke. The embarrassment from the cringy memory burned hot on her skin. “Oh, poor Julie, we should definitely see if she needs us or some space” Aaliyah said frowning, the cosmetic gashes in her mask beginning to ooze blackened blood. However, her frown was quickly replaced by a surprise pickachu with the pep talk coming out of her queens’ mouth. It was hard for her to string words together, well harder than it was normally. At first it was pure gibberish, but then her words took form “...No…I mean yes. Yes! It makes perfect sense. You’re right! You’re right I am fucking gorgeous” she shouted with a rush of adrenaline. The young girl giggle covering her mouth, she rarely swore but somehow this moment felt right.

The thought of burning her sweatpants kind of weighed on her, yet she had to shed her old skin eventually. ”But what about on my off days she said under her breath. “I just…I don’t know I thought no one liked me. I’m awkward and I cause accidents frequently you know? The only two boys I ever talked to vanished without a trace. And then at homecoming when you said we weren’t friends, none of it made sense to me. I’m really bad at this you know? I want to be good at it. I want to be good at fashion and make up just like the two of you. I mean I never really had friends unless you count my teams” Aaliyah paused before continuing, “This whole day just meant a lot to me and I had a lot of fun tonight so thank you. I guess you're right too, cute outfits do help. I thought they were looking at you or my white ass eyes” she said jokingly. “Come on, let's find Julie and me some more confidence. My feet are starting to kill me, I don’t know how you girls walk in these.”

Soon, the pair had come to a stop on the backyard patio; Chanel let her eyes scan the small groups of people for Julie before she finally spotted her in the last place she’d thought to look: the very center of the swimming pool. "Well, I've found our Monarch," Chanel said to Aaliyah as she nodded in the direction of the floating redhead. "Question is... what do we do now?"

Chanel stopped dead in her tracks, which left the unknowing Aaliyah to bump into her like a sack of potatoes. Catching herself she apologized while she managed to get her outfit right and then herself right. Her eyes met with Chanel’s at the pool of red filling the otherwise bluish water, it was actually quite poetic, like blood polluting the water. “I didn’t know our Highness liked to swim… especially in her underwear,” she said almost sounding questionable. “Uhhhhhhhhh” Aaliyah muttered before a lightbulb went off in her head, “That’s it!” she turned to face Chanel in brutal excitement. “Let’s ditch the costumes and jump in with her!” Whether this was a good or bad idea was yet to be seen.

For what felt like ages, Chanel stared blankly at Aaliyah; it wasn't until after a few more moments had passed that she finally let out a deep breath and pulled the cowboy hat from atop her head. "Well... I guess it's a good thing that I decided against wearing a wig and got my hair braided instead, huh?" And soon after she said that, Chanel quickly began to undress, starting with the god-awful pair of cowboy boots that had started to hurt her feet shortly after her third drink. Normally the young woman would've felt slightly self conscious after stripping in front of a few of her classmates, but the liquor that coursed through her system helped her suppress all of those feelings. Chanel waited a few seconds for Aaliyah to follow suit before preparing to make their grand cannonball jump into the pool.

“I think your hair looks just as good when it’s natural” she said in somewhat of an agreement with Chanel. Aaliyah was a little taken aback and self conscious having eyed Chanel’s curvy figure from head to toe. At least if anyone was actually looking they would be focused on her instead of Aaliyah. So with that the girl stripped off her dress and put down her crown, finally removing the heels that were leaving her feet sore. “Yee haw I guess” she shrugged, following Chanel into the pool with her own cannonball.

Sonny never thought he’d ever say this but he and Kavan were actually having a nice time just kind of chilling, away from most of everyone. They weren’t too far away. Sonny and Kavan had wandered more towards the back of Kavi’s house but they weren’t particularly outside just yet. There was a room in the Salvador house that acted like a lounging area for those who didn’t want to really engage with the more hyperactive partygoers that were currently in the middle of hyping up some kind of beer pong game. Given those who were present around it, Sonny didn’t want to approach them just yet. Instead, he and Kavan found a nice somewhat quiet place to just chill.

And then, not even a minute after Sonny had sat down on a comfy couch and red cup of some high-quality beer in his hand, out of the corner of his eye, he saw a dress-clad Archer and that one guy named Guy. It wasn’t so much that Sonny didn’t want to see Archer. They were on far better terms than they have been since Sonny and Marisol had rekindled their turbulent friendship, but given what Sonny was dressed as and how well he knew Archer, there was bound to be some form of a comment or two thrown his way from the Goddess.

So he stood up, not paying any mind to Kavan ditching him for his girl-not-girlfriend. “Yes, yes make the jokes.” He was only mildly annoyed while the rest of him was enjoying Archer’s own get up. “And what are you supposed to be? Some sort of Goddess of the Earth? Wait don’t tell me!” Sonny paused, smiling at Guy, even going as far as to flip his hair for maximum effect, “You’re making a political statement!”

God if Sonny was right, he will officially give up any and all remarks about Archer being unfunny for the foreseeable future. He will even cut the fairy remarks.

Raising an eyebrow Archer let out a little laugh "Oh wow! Look at you getting what I'm putting down. Impressive Torvie!" He shot his pseudo friend a quick wink.

As he stood opposite of Archer but his back to the door leading outside, Sonny wasn’t able to see her but as soon as he heard her speak, he just knew that Marisol was going to let something slip. And with infectious grin reaching its way to him, something else reached its way towards him. Laughing and smiling, he felt Marisol’s hand squeezed his plump cushion, which then she followed it with one of the worst pick up lines he had ever heard that didn’t come from his mouth.

He turned around, letting out a deep sigh. “Really?” His face went completely dead due to his surprise that she said such a line to him. ”That's the best you could come up with?” Sonny sounded almost disappointed. “You were impersonating the cringiest person at our school. You could’ve done better, but I give an A for effort and the very impressive ass squeeze.” Joking, Sonny returned the favor by slapping her ass.

"Screw you, asshole!" she laughed, wrapping her arms around Sonny and planting a kiss on his cheek. "You know if I say what I'm really thinking it'll make Archer here bitch at me for being 'gross'."

A tight-lipped smile spread across Archie's face as he gestured to them. "You don't have to say a damn thing, baby girl. This will always be 100% gross," he cracked a wide smile as he rolled his eyes towards Kavan. Kavan simply returned the grin and continued to watch as his friends bantered on.

"Hater," Mari shot back, rolling her eyes at Archer but shooting him a playful smile and a wink afterward.

“Archie, you wound me!” Sonny dramatically said, hand over his forehead and a gasping noise that sounded eerily like something very inappropriate. “Are you saying that a lady such as myself doesn’t deserve to be manhandled by Wednesday Addams?” He asked Archer, hiking up his voice a slight octave.

The tall boy scoffed “I’m pretty sure that a lady like you has been manhandled by far worse.” he smiled sheepishly at the pair.

"Oh you know it. You should have seen how I used to whoop his ass in the yard back in the day," Mari said smugly, patting Sonny in the back. "My mom and his dad got us these kiddie boxing gloves one summer and told us to have some fun with them. Next thing you know: Son's on the floor screaming to get me off him. He'd pissed me off so much I went in for it and didn't stop."

"Any chance that your parents caught any of this on film?" Kavan suddenly piped up, his voice humorous and his grin widening. "Watching Sonia get beat up by someone half his size? I would definitely pay good money to see some shit like that."

Guy smiled and stood quietly, sipping his cup of soda. These people had obviously been friends for a good long while. They had the ease, comfort, and cadence of people who had been conversing easily for years. He had not this sort of history with them. As time passed he only felt more awkward but did laugh at the thought of Baby Mari beating up Baby Sonny. “Perhaps not so different now,” he said quietly. His eyes widened and he tried to back peddle. “I just mean… I think she could take you… that is… God, wonder what my other foot tastes like.” He brushed his hair back from his face and glanced at Archer as his phone rang.

A loud vibrating noise could be heard from Archer's pant pocket. He held up a finger as he fished his phone out and answered. "What do you want Warren? What? I can't hear you, calm down… Hold on" he looked to the group "Sorry, it's my idiot brother! I'll be right back." He said and pushed through the crowd disappearing out of sight.

And now, Guy, king of being an awkward twerp, was left with a group of people he hardly knew and had just made a fool of himself. A hot blush dusted his cheeks as he watched Archer disappear into the crowd. He turned his attention back on the group, wondering if he should make an exit. Or would that be worse? Maybe say something? But he wasn’t good at that. Finally, he said, “I think you make a lovely woman. When Shakespeare was writing plays all of the women were played by men.”

“Finally, an actual compliment!” Relieved, Sonny immediately brought Guy into a sudden embrace, his arm wrapping itself around his neck in a friendly, yet affectionate, manner. “You guys should take notes from this guy. He knows how to compliment a fragile lady such as myself!” Even if joking, Sonia rewarded Guy’s compliment with a light, yet equally noticeable, peck on the lips that lasted all of one second.

The arm around his neck and closeness of this person he did not know very well caused the blush across his cheeks deepen. He mumbled out a small “You’re welcome...” and hoped he would let go of him soon. Unfortunately, quite the opposite happened. He kissed him. It was a light, innocent peck filled with fun and joy. However, Guy was absolutely shocked. His eyes widened and he opened his mouth to say something. He couldn’t find the words. He closed his mouth. Oh, wait. There were words. Mouth opened again. Aaaand there the words went. Mouth closed. A couple more times did he gawp like a fish before he finally decided to take a sip of his drink and looked elsewhere. “I think I see someone…” he trailed off, waited for a beat, and then turned and walked toward the refreshments table.

Mari watched in shock as Sonny planted a good one on their new acquaintance, making the boy visibly flustered before ultimately scurrying away. “Jesus, Sonny, was that really necessary?!” she scolded her friend, glaring at him and slapping his arm. “You scared the poor boy away with your slut behavior! What a fantastic way to make a first impression!”

Sonny responded with a shrug. He didn’t see what the big deal was. It was a joke kiss. Certainly nothing more and definitely nothing less. “I’m more surprised he didn’t try and kiss me back,” Sonny admitted. “Seriously though, who gets kissed and doesn’t want to return the favor?” He looked to either Marisol or Kavan for an answer.

“Oh, I don’t know, maybe someone you just fucking met not even five minutes ago?!” the girl replied sarcastically, rolling her eyes at how stupid Sonny was being. “I’m surprised he didn’t fucking give you a black eye, you dumb fuck!”

Sonny, again, would shrug. They obviously didn’t see it that way, so Sonny turned to Kavan. “You have to be the tiebreaker here, bro,” he said, his entire body facing Kavan. “Do you think it was a normal reaction for Guy to go straight to Splitsville like Wednesday here says or do you think he acted prematurely?” He tried to hide it but Sonny’s immature mind produced a semi-hidden chuckle as soon as he said premature.

"Well," Kavan said, a hint of hesitation in his voice as he took a quick glance at the boy who'd just left their group. "Given the circumstances… and seeing how nervous he already was, I think I'm gonna have to agree with Mari on this one, Sonia. Sorry."

“HA!” Marisol cried out, smirking triumphantly and poking Sonny in the chest. “Suck on that, bitch!”

“I hope the next time you go--”

Sonny was grateful for being cut off because the sight of Salem, that lean bean weasel and what looked like a dirty hoebag by the name of Ximena together no more than three or four feet, but with the number of people between them, it seemed like a greater distance. At first, Sonny didn’t think much of it. Salem, despite Sonny’s own opinions about the lanky dipshit, was easy on the eyes and Ximena was the school whore. That’s why he didn’t give them a second thought and they were almost an afterthought until their lips connected.

“--what the fuck!” Sonny blurted out, a growing ire at the sight of Salem with, of all people to cheat with, Ximena.

“What is it, Son?” Marisol asked her best friend, turning in the direction he was staring at. And when her eyes found the unexpected sight, the short girl felt her heart shatter into a million different pieces before dropping all the way down to the endless pit in her stomach.

Kavan watched in silence as the scene unfolded before him, his eyebrows raised in surprise at the sight of Salem and Ximena. And while part of him was mentally commentating on how Salem must think of himself as quite the ladies man, the other part was anxious to see how Mari would react. “He’s not worth it,” Kavan suddenly spoke up, trying to defuse the situation before it even really began. “If he’s that stupid to cheat on you with someone who’s probably had more STD’s than she has brain cells, then they deserve each other.”

Sonny was just waiting for Marisol’s green light so he could give Salem a dose of round two. This time it would be well deserved and it would at least save Marisol a second trip to the funny farm for her overreaction. “Just say the word and I’ll bop him real good with my Prada bag!” Sonny held onto the handles of his bag hard, ready and willing to smack Salem a few dozen times.

“No need for that,” the girl replied in a hoarse voice, her eyes still glued to the fateful scene unfolding right in front of her. Just then, Salem chose to put an end to the madness and walk away- but the damage was done. She didn’t realize the way her hands balled up into small fists, how her knuckles whitened, or the way her black nails were digging so hard into her skin that she was sure there would be bloody crescent marks on her palms.

After what seemed like forever, Mari briefly turned to Sonny and Kavan. “Don’t worry about it. I’ll handle this myself,” she told them before squaring her shoulders and pushing her way out of the room in the direction where Salem had gone.

Sonny wasn’t sure if it was a good idea for Marisol to go off on her own. He had half a mind to follow her. If not for anything, the last time she reacted to a situation involving someone she was really close to, a pricey German sports car was terribly damaged. “She seemed level-headed, right? I mean, how did she seem to you, Kavan?” Sonny asked him, worried about what Marisol might do to Salem.

After watching Marisol push her way back through the crowd of people, Kavan let out a deep breath before refocusing his gaze back on Sonny. “Honestly?” the young man said uncertainly, “I think we should start thinking about putting together some bail money."

Found you when your heart was broke
I filled your cup until it overflowed
Took it so far to keep you close
I was afraid to leave you on your own

I said I'd catch you if you fall
And if they laugh, then fuck 'em all

And then I got you off your knees
Put you right back on your feet

Just so you can take advantage of me

Tell me: how's it feel sittin' up there?
Feeling so high but too far away to hold me?
You know I'm the one who put you up there
Name in the sky
Does it ever get lonely?
Thinking you could live without me?

“You know what?” Salem hissed, stomping to the door, “I’m not doing this. Everyone here is fucking crazy.”

Salem stormed out of the room, finding his way to the front yard of the house. He just wanted to be alone for now, to simmer in his anger. That’s who he has become now, anger incarnated. It was tiring. Salem retreated to a shadowy corner of the yard left barren by the other party-goers and slumped to the ground.

The phone in his pocket interrupted his momentary peace, vibrating at his thigh. Caller ID proudly displayed ‘BABBO’ across the screen. Salem has been ignoring his dad, refused to talk to him even when his mother gave him the stink eye. At this point, he might as well jump in the shark tank.

“Hello?”

There was a moment of silence, then: “I didn’t think you would pick up.”

“Well, I did.” His nose flared as hot air escaped into the night sky, “What did you want?”

“Salem, listen.” A giggling in the background seemed to momentarily distract his dad and that only caused Salem’s ire to grow. “I need to talk to you about something. It’s - well - the thing is - I don’t know how to say this, really. I’ll just go ahead and say it. I am divorcing your mother.”

In hindsight, Salem should have seen it coming, should have seen it a long time ago. Of course, eventually, his dad would like one of his side girls too much and want to marry her. Bile rose in Salem’s throat and he spat on the ground, wishing he could wash his mouth of the bad taste his father’s words left.

“That’s it, then?” Salem asked bitterly, “You’re just going to leave us? Fuckin’ deadbeat piece of shit. Good riddance. I don’t want to see you ever again.”

“Now wait a minute!” His father hissed on the other end, “You do not get to talk to me that way. Not when you have one girl with a promise ring on her finger and another sneaking out of your window! You didn’t think your mom wouldn’t find out about that? So how dare you-”

Salem hung up the phone and tossed it beside him before laying down in the grass with a furrowed brow.

Everything has just gotten way out of hand. His father is being a prick, ruining his life, and he’s right. That’s the worst part. He’s right, they’re two sides of the same coin and all the cliches attached to that. This complicated drama has his insides all twisted up and Salem doesn’t know what to do or what to think. He’s spent his entire life being told what to do by his mom and now he’s just lost. His dad fucked him over. His own decisions fucked him over. What would his mom say? What would Gwen say? He’s a fucking coward, he knows he is, but he couldn’t handle if Gwen thought that way of him. Or if Marisol did. He yearns for both of them, and maybe that’s just not fair of him.

It didn’t take much searching for Marisol to find Salem laying down in the front yard of Kavi’s house. She took strong, determined steps towards him, eventually taking position right next to him. "You mind explaining what the fuck is going on?" the girl asked in a quiet yet shaky voice, crossing her arms in front of her chest: the calm before the storm.

Salem clasped his head in his hands, closing his eyes against the sky and from Marisol’s silhouette. “I don’t know.”

Something snapped in him - no, that is too aggressive of a word. Something splintered in him. It was sharp and painful on his lungs, squeezing his diaphragm, and drumming against his heart. Is this a panic attack?

“I don’t know how everything is happening. That girl - and this school - everything was supposed to be simple. They had planned everything out for me; school, marriage, Gwen - god, how could I do this to Gwen? To you? I’m - I’m my father.” It was all coming out in gasps, shallow puffs of air forced from his throat until his whole body burned.

The way he was speaking brough out a rush of concern from Marisol, "Jesus fuck, are you okay?!" she asked him as she reached down to take his face in her hands, still seething with anger but worried about his well-being all the same.

Salem swallowed a ragged breath, closing his eyes and flinching away from Marisol’s touch. “I can’t do this anymore. My mom is on my case, my dad is -- and I’m hurting Gwen and you.”

If he is so easily blackmailed by some random girl, then maybe he’s just a piece of shit. His lips feel chapped, burning under the soft pressure of her. He doesn’t even know her name, but his chest is compressed with anger.

The girl was taken aback by the way the boy reacted to her touch, and his words only served to fan the flames of her own anger. "What do you mean, 'you can't do this anymore'?!" Mari repeated in disbelief, staring at Salem as if he'd just grown an extra head while her stomach knotted up together. "That's not what we- We were literally just going at it this afternoon! This was supposed to be our first date together! Where the fuck is this all coming from?!"

“I’m doing the same fucking thing my dad is doing to my mom, Marisol!” Salem snapped, standing up finally. “I’m throwing away what I had with Gwen, what I built with Gwen and I’m butting into your life and making a mess of things. We’re making a mess of things. It’s got to stop. I can’t be here anymore. I’m going to ask my nonna if I can move in with her.”

The more he talked, the more furious Marisol got. How was it possible that mere hours ago they were rolling around in bed together, then excitedly texting each other back and forth and talking about all the things they’d be able to do after finally going public with their relationship. No more hiding, no more sneaking around: just them against the world. And the so-called Gwen? She’d been nothing more than an afterthought; someone who would eventually become part of Salem’s past while Mari became his present and future.

How fucking stupid had she been… Again.

"Gwen, huh?" Marisol finally spat, the other girl’s name dripping like poison out of her lips. "You didn't seem to be thinking of Gwen whenever you were sucking up my neck every chance you got, or when I was giving you head in the backseat of your car the other day, or aaaaaaaaall those times I was lying on my back with you on top of me in the middle of your fucking bed for the past three weeks! But fuck me, right?!" she cried out, her voice now loud enough to deafen anybody within earshot. Her face was flushed with anger, green eyes matching pools of tears and venom. "Fuck all the nights we spent together with you lying to my fucking face telling me you'd never hurt me! Fuck all the times you swore I was the best fucking thing to happen to you, and that nobody had ever made you feel this way! And fuck me, for being fucking stupid enough to believe for a goddamned second you were actually one of the good ones! Because you know what, Salem? You're just as bad as everybody else here is."

The shorter girl turned on her heel, poised to walk away before the waterworks started, but impulsively turning around again to face Salem one last time. "I want you to lose any fucking thing that's related to me from everywhere you can: photos, emails, my number, the texts, everything you can possibly think of. And if you really know what's good for you, you'll never show your face in fucking Florida ever again. I'm not afraid to go to jail for a piece of shit like you." And goddamn, she meant that.

With that last threat still hanging in the air and a glare so cold that could freeze Hell over, Marisol turned her back on Salem for the last time and walked back into the house, wiping away the mascara-covered tears running down her cheeks.

‘That’s what you get when you let your fucking heart win.’

Salem frowned at her back, holding back the retort at the tip of his tongue (“Not everything is about you, Marisol.”). It hurts, all of it hurts, but he needs to get his ducks in order. He needs to forget about girls, about all this drama. Salem just needs space from everyone; living with his nonna can help him with that. He’ll be on his own, without his mom hovering and his dad fucking everything up, without complicated relationships and petty drama. It’s time he grows up.

A Collaboration with @Inkarnate, @HaleyTheRandom, and @ineffable featuring Stella Lambert, Oliver Grayson, Mac Davenport, and Georgie Fielders

Stella tried not to say anything because her mind was a mess right now, so if she had decided to open the only thing that was keeping the chaos locked away, the odds of her making the situation she saw as bad a lot worse than it was were high. And in that, she gave a smile when she felt a smile was necessary, which seemed to be one-hundred percent of the time. With Mac trying to make the situation as awkward for Stella and Oliver as she possibly could. Thank every god, goddess, and higher power out there for Oliver’s apt response.

She soon found herself happily nodding along with Oliver, sending the big girl in the sky a big thank you for his interruption. Goddess only knew what would have happened had Oliver not come save her from having to answer the highly-intrusive, highly-awkward, and quite embarrassing questions. “Yeah, I’m his date and he’s mine!” She echoed like a delayed reaction of the two of them being in-sync with each other. She didn’t know what else to say so her attention went to Georgia as if she was hoping to take the attention off of her and Oliver so both of them could breathe. “Oh hey, Geo! When did you get here?” She asked.

“That’s a good question.” Mac remarked as she removed the arm from her person, half-laughing as she did so.

Georgie watched as the back and forth ensued between Mac and the lovebirds, smiling at how happy Stella seemed and how the whole situation exuded innocent romance. She wished for Stella and Oliver’s happiness but snapped back to the question asked of her instead of daydreaming and smiled, taking a drink of whiskey from the solo cup in her hand.

”Some times ago. Carter was nice enough to drop me off and all. What’s going on here? Stella and Oliver, you guys are like...together?” Georgie put two fingers side by side in the air, half drunk and only slightly kidding.

“That’s what she said, innit?”

And like that, the attention was back on her and Oliver. “No, no, no, we’re not together together. I mean, we’re here together but there’s no reason to think that we are.” A moment passed and Stella’s frantic eyes went to Oliver. It took her another moment to realize how horrible that sounded. “I mean, not that there would be anything bad about us being together but no, we’re not that. Just here as each other’s date. No reason to think otherwise!” Stella felt like she couldn’t breathe. So many words left her lips and in so little time.

Mac laughed, shaking her head. “Someone’s in denial. Why would you care if someone thought you were, anyway? Is there someone else? Oh. You have a rival! How exciting.”

Georgie followed along with Mac, giggling as she spoke. “Oooh, there’s a rival? Tell us Stells!”

Stella felt the walls around whatever makeshift prison of the pressure to give them an answer slowly close in on her. “No, there’s isn’t anyone else. The last person who I was with in whatever way you’re thinking was Santiago and I won’t ever go down that route again!”

Whether or not she meant to admit that as loudly as she did, she couldn’t take it back, so again her eyes fell on Oliver hoping he would interject at some point. She didn’t know how much more of Geo and Mac’s prying she could take before she was gonna say something really damaging.

Oliver had heard tales of female gossip; how a group of girls got together over drinks and just talked about random nothings. The random nothing in question, however, kept putting himself in an awkward position. Was he just to assume how Stella felt or was he supposed to be his actual self and allow her to answer for herself. Thankfully, the question was answered when Stella decided to pipe up. What Stella had to say made him feel a way that he couldn’t really describe. His heart sank at one line, just to get half the amount of hope that he originally had back when she said the next.

”The truth is, ladies, we just haven’t had the ‘are we an actual thing’ talk yet. This all kind of just….” Oliver made a strange hand motion, rolling one hand over the other repeatedly until he finally shoved them in his pockets. It seemed like the best way to give himself five seconds to think. ”The school did that weird homecoming experiment thing and as it turns out, Stella and I actually got along really well. Just because we aren’t together together doesn’t mean that - in time - we won’t be.”

He couldn’t help but let that tiny spark of rage flare up inside him at the mention of Santiago. ”I can’t believe you ever actually went down that road in the first place, Stella. He’s a piece of shit.”

“Hey!” Stella protested, “In my defense, he’s very pretty!” She huffed.

”So looks equal ev--” Oliver took a deep breath, his jaw clenched. Stella was drunk. Stella still had some kind of feelings for the guy. It was Oliver’s job to understand such things, not to judge. Not that he was judging. Just…. Stella. ”I didn’t mean it that way, Stel.”

Mac shook her head. “What way did you mean it?”

”In the same way any other friend would have meant it. Just that… maybe it wasn’t the best choice of words. Stella deserves better. Way better.”

“So serious. It’s a party, relax. It’s not like you’ve been introduced to her parents.” There was a pause as Mac looked at Stella and Oliver’s expressions. “Oh. Oh no. Stella, you didn’t.”

“He hasn’t just met my parents. He’s also met my Uncle Wesley, Aunt Florence, and their two kids: Abe and Winnie.”

“Oh dear god. Stella, mate, I told you about this.” Mac remarked as she finished her current drink. The British girl had told Stella a thousand times about jumping into things too quickly; and why it was a bad idea. How much trouble had she gotten into since summer had ended?

Georgie watched the exchange going on with increasing amusement. She didn’t know Stella as much as Mac knew her but well...Stella did kind of look like someone who would go about her relationships as enthusiastically as she went on with her life.

”Hold up.” Georgie turned to Oliver, extending her cup so it almost poked him in the face. ”Other than introducing Oliver to your whole extended family, minus your parents...I don’t even think I know him that well. Wait. Are we the first ones to find out? Am I in the in yet?”

Stella hummed for a good moment. “No, he didn’t meet my entire family. He only met my Aunt Florence’s family. There’s still Aunt Cassie, Uncle Charles, and a whole bunch of others that live in France,” she paused, looking at Geo, “but yes, as far as who all knows, not counting Oli, of course, you two are the only ones who know or even care to know.”

”Aw, that’s so exciting! You two are so cute together...I mean look at your faces!”

Georgie by this point had finished her cup of whiskey and thrown it to the side, stumbling over to both Stella and Oliver and joining their hands together as if she was preaching at their wedding. Normally, Georgie could hold her alcohol better than this but her thoughts had already been muddled entering the party. She had gone days without talking to her parents, becoming increasingly frustrated and alone. Add that to the split second in which she had spotted Sawyer smiling and having fun across the room and she could hardly find it in her to focus, much less retain sobriety.

Mac, on the other hand, seemed to have been enjoying the conversation merely for the spectacle. It was hard to say if it was embarrassing the two of them or Georgie’s own outbursts entertained her more.

There was still more of Stella's family? Oliver had thought that the people he had met the night of Homecoming was it. Perhaps that was the downside to having a small family yourself - you believed that everyone else did as well. Oliver had one aunt and no cousins. The Grayson clan was a small one. Truth to be told, his head was a mess at the moment. His subconscious was just grasping at strings of the conversation trying to sort out what Stella was saying. She had said that they weren’t together not even five minutes ago. Now what she was saying to Mac and Georgie implied otherwise. Perhaps all of the conversation was stemming from Stellas semi-drunken state. One thing that Oliver was sure of, however, was that once Stella had sobered up, the two of them were having a very serious conversation.

”Uh… thanks for that, then, I guess. Though I’m pretty sure all the cuteness in this relationship comes from Stella herself.”

“I don’t know about that.” Mac teased, offering a smirk before uttering a follow-up comment. “As for me, lots of party to discover. I’ll catch you guys later.”

Mac’s eyes drifted to Georgie’s own, before setting off to find more drinks and more entertainment.

”Wonderful.” Georgie said as she clapped her hands together after releasing the linked fingers of Stella and Oliver from her grasp. She stepped away slightly, unsure of what she needed to do next.

”Anyways, it was nice to meet you, Oliver. As always, a pleasure, Stells.” Georgie took off her hat and tipped it in their direction before she waved and slowly parted ways with them as well. She needed a refill of booze...or maybe a glass of wine. Both, she concluded.

Warning: Mentions of suicuide and violance

The outside patio was just as loud as inside the house so Archer stalked around the house to find a quiet spot to deal with his annoying brother. He settled for area at the short side of the house between some potted plants. He sat down on one of the bigger ones and brought his phone back to his ear

“Ok! So what do you want Warren?” he asked unable to contain the annoyance in his voice. At first there was only heavy breathing on the other end. Archer furrowed his brows in confusion. His brother never called him and you could usually never shut him up, and now he was acting real strange. “Warren? Are you ok?” he continued to probe.

“Arch…” more breathing “I- I just..” his brother slurred in to the receiver.

Archer let out a long breath “Are you drunk? If this is some sort of fucked up joke Warren just get it over with…” he sighed.

“No! I… We.” Warren began. “Me and Katie.” he was talking slowly and you could almost smell the bourbon through the phone. “We are at this party and… and we got to talking about you.” his voice drenched in sadness then there was a long pause.

Like a cold shower dread washed over Archer where he sat. “And?” he asked shakely.

“She- she told me about what happened last year." A big sniff could be heard from his brother. "I just- I just can't believe you- that I made you want to go so far."

Archer closed his eyes and took a deep breath as the memories from his darkest days all came rushing back to him.

May 26th 2017
The Diedrikson house was silent and almost empty except for the youngest son who had opted out of going with his parents up to Cambridge for his older brother Warren’s last game of the lacrosse season. The boy had other plans.

Standing in the upstairs bathroom Archer stared blankly into the mirror for a long time before he opened the cabinet that behind it. His green eyes searching the content of the shelfs until they found what they was looking for. His mother’s ‘Lunesta’, her sleeping pills. He grabbed one of the bottles and closed the cabinet carefully again. Sitting down on the bathtub edge the boy inspected the orange pill-bottle. His uncertain eyes shifted between it and the half empty vodka bottle he had retrieved from under his bed.

An unstable breath escaped him as closed his eyes. His first year of high school had been no different than any other year in school. And this time he had tried, like really tried to be as invisible as possible. But still, whenever he wasn’t around his Castillo shield some of the King’s elite felt it was their mission to make his life a living hell. Pushing him into lockers, throwing stuff at his head or just calling him fag under their breath. He couldn’t even escape it when he got home where he had a brother who made jokes at his expense at every turn and a father who ignored him. He was tired and he had had enough which was why he was sitting here making up his mind.

He slid his body into the bathtub where he carefully screwed of the small plastic lid. He settled the bottle of vodka between his legs as he shook out about ten or so small pills into his open hand. He bit his lip and in his mind there was a small voice of doubt, pushing through he shoved the pills in his mouth washing them down with a couple of big gulps of vodka. He leaned back and waited with his hand gripping the bottle dangling over the edge of the bathtub.

Katie McCormick parked her car in front of her boyfriends house. She had been dating Warren Diedrikson for three years and this was the first semester that they spent separated and she was so excited to go see his final game of the season. So she jumped at the chance to go get the last of Warren’s stuff that he needed before heading up to Harvard.

The slim brunette almost skipped to the front door out of excitement when she got there she knocked a few times. She had been told that Archer would be home so she was a little confused when no one answered. “Archer? It’s Katie I’m here to get the last of War’s stuff!” still no answer. Luckily she had been here so many times she knew where they kept their spare key. She lifted up the small ceramic hedgehog that sat in the third small flower pot, there taped on the underside was the key to the front door.

“Hello? Archie?” Katie called out as she opened the door looking around. She spotted his shoes so he should’ve been home to let her in. Maybe he’s listening to music while he read she thought as she took of her own shoes. There was something in the air that made her feel uneasy. Slowly she made her way up the stairs heading towards Warren’s room passing the open bathroom door. She didn’t even know why she did it but she stopped in her tracks and pushed the door open wider and spotted the bottle of vodka spilling out across the floor. She lifted her gaze and spotted Archer lying in the bathtub his head lolling to the side.

“Archer!?” she screamed as she rushed forward. She knelt down grabbing his shoulders shaking him gently. Feeling the tears building in her eyes she put her hand behind his head as she slapped his face “Come on Archer wake up! Please….please, what did you do?” she cried. The boy’s eyes fluttered as he groaned. Katie gasped out of relief as she used all of her strength to pull him into a seating position. “Come on.. come on!” She huffed as she bent him forward sticking her fingers as far into his mouth as she could making Archer retch and convulse forward as he expelled the contents of his stomach. “It’s okay..” Katie whispered over and over again as she rubbed his back until she was sure that whatever he had taken was out of his system. She carefully leaned him back and sobbing as she did so.

Archer slowly turned his head to look at his savior “Katie? What are you doing here?” he whispered, confusion spreading in his half open eyes.

The girl wiped her tear stained cheeks as she stood up to fill a cup with water. “I’m here to keep you company” she said taking short shaky breaths handing him the cup. “Drink…” she commanded as she sat down on the bathtubs edge running her hands through Archer’s sweat drenched hair moving it out of his face.

“I’m sorry…” the boy said as he sobbed into his own shoulder shivering. “Please don’t tell my parents… or Warren.” he continued between sobs.

“Your secret is safe with me. But I’m staying here with you this weekend and you can tell me what is going on... ok?” she cooed.

Archer covered his face with his hand and let out a big sigh “I- I can’t do this right now War… It was a long time ago.” he wiped away the tears that had collected in his eyes. “Can we talk about this some other time when you get back home?” he said hoping his brother would have forgotten about this conversation when he had sobered up.

“Ok sure… I just wanted to say that I’m sorry… and… I love you baby brother” Warren whispered.

“I- I love you too…bye” Archer croaked before hanging up. He wiped the last of the tears away and exhaled before standing up.

“Oh that sounded like a very tender moment Diedrikson!” a voice called from behind Archer. He turned around to face Brad Leone one of the lacrosse goons that used to worship his brother. “Was that your boyfriend? You love each other?! Cute… two fags finding each other” Brad said in a mockingly sweet tone.

Letting out a sharp breath Archer rolled his eyes “What the fuck do you want Leone?” he asked feeling numb crossing his arms staring straight into the big oafs eyes.

“You sold me a bum essay last week! I only got a B!” He stated harshly. “You trying to make me look bad huh?” he continued menacingly stepping closer to the smaller boy.

Archer scoffed rolling his eyes harder “You don’t think I need to make it believable? What would Mr. Gomez think if you went from a C- student to a straight A student in one semester? We would both be caught you fucking dunce!” he spat annoyed that they were even having this conversation.

“What the fuck did you call me faggot?!” Brad roared as he grabbed Archer by his top pushing him up against the wall getting up in his face. “You think you can insult me and get away with it?!” he growled.

Breathing heavily Archer smirked“You can’t insult someone who can’t understand basic English.” he retorted before being hurled on to the ground by the much bigger lacrosse player. Archer could only but get up on his elbows before he saw the fist connecting with the left side of his face. The impact made his vision blur and his ears ring before his right side was hit by another fist.

“FIGHT!” was the last thing he heard before he fell back eyes looking toward the crowd forming around them.

A Collaboration Post with @SpicyMeatball featuring Kavi Salvador & April Foster

In between the rotating door of partygoers who decided to come and go near where Kavi was and felt the need to offer him some sort of shot or ask him to drink with him, the host of this year’s Halloween party was well on his way to being hammered. His sense of direction and ability to walk in a straight line had started to become compromised and he didn’t like it. Not because he didn’t enjoy drinking. Kavi thoroughly enjoyed the taste of any and all alcohol, but it was the effects it had on him that wasn’t all that favorable.

And as he took a turn around, bumping into the table just slightly, he was able to witness first hand -- and in the second row -- to the carnage that was happening at his wonderful beer pong table. People talking about others’ mothers and Aiden getting laid out. And as if that wasn't bad enough, Santiago using that as a distraction to leave with Astraia? Wait, that couldn’t be right. “Isn’t he with..” Kavi’s thought trailed off into silent thought. If he was here, then April had to be somewhere close by.

So he scanned the back patio and sadly, nowhere was April to be found. Part of him was glad for that. He didn’t like Santiago one bit and disliked him even more now that he chose to leave with Astraia of all people, but he had nothing against April. There was nothing about the girl that rubbed him the wrong way. He still really enjoyed the memories of their homecoming date. It may have resulted in him having a suspended license, but damn it if it wasn’t a fun night. Totally worth all of the hell that came after.

Soon he arrived at the conclusion that April wasn’t in the back patio area, so walking slowly, Kavi stumbled into the house, moving his way past even drunker partiers -- some that he knew and some that he had no idea they went to KA. Eventually, after making his way through the Halloween costume-clad crowd, he was in the clear where he found himself by the stairs and sitting on the third one from the bottom was April and she didn’t look like she was having a good time.

That was when Kavi plopped himself next to her, albeit a tad sloppier than he thought he would. His body was more obtuse and his body covered more of the stairs than April’s did, but he smiled at her. “Been searching high and low for you, ya know.” He said in a drunken laugh.

To say April was in a shitty mood was one hell of an understatement. For around half an hour know, she’d been watching Santiago from a dark hallway, just outside of where the rest of the party-goers had congregated. She’d spectated the entirety of what had gone down, from the super competitive drunk beer pong game to Julie randomly stripping down and sliding into the pool.

But the part that had really pissed her off, was once again seeing Santiago wander off with another girl. It was a damn near perfect repeat of what had happened at the beginning of the year, except this time she had the advantage. Santiago had no clue that April had joined the party. Had he been even the least bit observant, he would’ve noticed April’s practically trademarked white Maserati parked not thirty feet from the entrance to Kavi’s place. Knowing Santiago however, she knew that he wouldn’t pay attention to it. Not with so many attractive distractions present.

She couldn’t even have a drink to calm herself down or to forget about the entire thing. Why the fuck did she ever get attached to that man-whore?

“Have you now?” April turned towards an intoxicated Kavi, her head slightly cocked. “Then it appears my entrance wasn’t unnoticed like I had intended.” April turned back towards the crowd, shooting a venomous glare to the spot she’d seen Santiago and Yessi disappear to not five minutes before. Many ideas were running through April’s vindictive mind. What could she do to absolutely ruin their night? What was the most damage she could do that was within the law? Hell, was she willing to break the law to get back at the Devil of King’s Academy? It likely wasn’t out of the question.

“So, why exactly were you looking for me anyway?” April inquired, her gaze not leaving the crowd in front of them.

Kavi wondered if she knew about Santiago. He knew that idiot wasn’t really subtle and her being by the stairs meant she had the perfect vantage point to see just about everything that went on. He half-wanted to tell her, but she was already in such a foul mood from the way she didn’t bother looking at him that Kavi opted to not do that.

“We haven’t really seen much of each other since homecoming. So I figured I’d come to find you and chat for a bit,” he said using his elbows to level his upper body some so he didn’t appear to be a total slob when speaking to April. “Or if you want to be left alone, that’s cool too. It just seems like you rather not be left alone?” He was guessing at this point. Deep down, Kavi wanted to check up on her but he didn’t want to really mention anything Santiago-related if he could help it.

“Can I ask you something Kavi?” she said in a genuinely nice tone, looking to him with a slightly better expression on her face. Between homecoming and now, Kavi had actually shown more genuine care and interest towards her than Santiago by a landslide. And even again, on Halloween night--one of April’s favorite occasions because of all the fun with costumes--Kavi was there when Santiago didn’t even want her there. “Am I attractive as Yessi or Bea?” It sounded like such a stupid question as she said it, but it was too late to take it back now.

While it likely wasn’t the best thing to be thinking, April had to wonder whether Santiago actually gave a shit about her more than he did about any other given girl at King’s Academy, or whether she was just another notch on his belt. She felt like an idiot, going back to him time after time only to have him pull the exact same shit he had pulled previously. “And I don’t mean that in a bad way towards either of them...well, maybe towards Yessi I guess...fuck, I don’t even know what I’m saying. And I haven’t even had anything to drink!” The brunette slumped her head down onto her arms, taking in a deep breath.

Kavi had managed to sit up during April’s rant about Astraia and, surprisingly, of all people, Beatrice. He didn’t understand the mention of her but he knew, even in his somewhat intoxicated state that April must’ve seen Yessi and Santiago pass on by somewhere. At least it saved him the awkwardness of bringing it up, but that didn’t change anything. That idiot Santiago hurting a perfectly good one for Astraia. Kavi had a close and complicated relationship with Yessi, but it seemed coming back had done more harm than good.

As Kavi just looked at April, he didn’t know what to say, well he did but the words wouldn’t come out just yet, so he put a hand on the nearest wrist it could find. “April,” he managed to say, “Yessi doesn’t hold a candle to you. And if that dumbass ex of yours can’t see that, then I say forget him. You can do much better than him.” Oh yeah, he could feel something churning in his stomach. Kavi had no way of knowing if it was guilt for being nice to anyone other than Ariel in a way that would look problematic at best, or butterflies for April that just made it all worse for outside eyes.

“God, I wish it were that easy.” April said in a muffled voice, her head still tucked into her arms. There was a small part of April that wanted to leave it at that and say nothing more about the human growing inside of her. The human that she and Santiago had made. A larger part of her, however, wanted to scream it to the rooftops that she, April Lillian Foster, was pregnant with the Devil’s child.

“You really think Yessi doesn’t hold a candle to me?” April brought her head back up, looking to Kavi with the yellow-red eyes made possible by her costume. “It...it just feels like no matter what I do he never really cares about me. Why do I bother?” she asked, though more to herself than to Kavi.

“You think I should just ditch him?” she asked, the tone of her voice genuine but almost hesitant. April almost regretted asking, but at the same time, Santiago had done very little to actually support her. Every time there was a moment where she’d really needed him, Santiago would just go silent for a few days before returning as if nothing was wrong. Why the fuck should she stay with him? Apart from the fact that she was bearing his fucking child--which didn’t seem to matter to him, his level of faithfulness hadn’t changed a bit--April had zero reasons to stay.

Kavi, on the other hand, had been there for her multiple times. Maybe it was time for Santiago to see what it felt like to be cheated on.

“Well..”

Kavi couldn’t really find the words. No, that wasn’t true. He had the words but maybe it wasn’t his place to say them? He had a girlfriend who he loved a good deal. They had a fight but he loved her. Kavi loved Ariel and she loved him ...in her own way. So him telling someone else to dump their whatever Santiago was/is to April didn’t feel like it was his place, yet at the same time, nobody else was around and Kavi felt like he had to say something. Anything.

He just had to say something.

“He should be here with you instead of me, but he’s with Yessi. I will be here regardless of what you do, the Kavmiester is here for you, April O'Neil.” He patted her hand a couple more times for support and an added assurance.

“I appreciate it Kavi. At least I can count on you.” April reached to grab Kavi’s hand, giving it a gentle squeeze before sending him a warm smile, a rather unsettling look with April’s makeup and contact lenses. Then, with a quick glance to the crowd in front of them to check for any on-lookers, April moved to push herself gently into Kavi. The small distance that had been between them before was no longer present. April looked into Kavi’s eyes, trying to read whether he was alright with the situation or not before closing her eyes and leaning in to kiss him rather passionately.

Initially, Kavi was taken by surprise as his eyes widened when their lips had connected and there was a large part of him that kept poking him to cease and desist all actions. Think with the brain and heart and not the body part he left in charge of such decisions. He didn’t stop and for a long series of moments that were as slow as a tortoise, the passion lingered and Kavi had actually returned the kiss for a bit. His arms had reached around April’s head, his hands running themselves through her light brown hair and for a moment, he didn’t have any thoughts but to keep kissing her.

Until he closed his eyes and saw Ariel’s face with her beautiful smile, her voice calling his name. And that’s when the guilt set in, immediately forcing Kavi to pull away. “I can’t I--” Kavi looked at April, uncertain what it was but he couldn’t bring himself to bring up Ariel right now. He was about to and maybe he should have told her he had a girlfriend, but Kavi couldn’t. “--it wouldn’t be right. You’re upset about Santiago. As much as I want to get back at him for how he hurt you, this isn’t the way.” As soon those words left his mouth, he was equally divided between the situation he was in and what he should say right now versus what he wanted to do. Yes, he should mention Ariel, but also yes, he wanted to go back to her soft lips and kiss her some more because holy shit, April was a great kisser!

April’s mind was a flurry of emotions that spun around almost as fast as her heart was beating. As Kavi pulled away from her, she couldn’t help but feel disappointed. It had been at least a few weeks, if not longer since she’d really kissed anyone else. “I...I’m sorry Kavi…” April looked down to the floor, her cheeks a fiery red and her breaths rapid. “Fuck…” she muttered under her breath. Every bit of her yearned for the feeling that Kavi had just given her. To be genuinely cared for and loved. The fact that he too was a damn good kisser was just icing on the cake.

“I shouldn’t have done that...I don’t know what I was thinking. I haven’t even been drinking...” April finally spoke with a bit more purpose and strength to her words. The long locks of her brown hair partially hid her face as she closed her eyes, shaking her head to herself. What the fuck are you doing April…

“A-are you mad?” she asked, her head unmoving from its position facing down to the floor, resting in her hands.

He wouldn’t respond immediately. Instead, he kept his eyes on April and seeing how messed up she felt about kissing him. That was something that Kavi could relate to. Just as she felt horrible for kissing him, he felt the same tugging feeling between what he desired and what was right in the pit of his stomach. The butterflies died and now a sinking hole replaced it. How could he do this to Ariel? Why didn’t he go to her when she walked off? All of these questions were coming to him, but the one thing that he knew he had to do was assure April that she had nothing to apologize for.

He put a hand on April’s, like before he made sure she knew he wasn’t going anywhere. “I’m feeling a lot of things but anger isn’t one of them,” he told her, smiling. “What would I have to be mad about? I got to kiss a beautiful girl and probably stick it to Santiago in the process. As far as I see, there was no harm done.” There he went lying for the sake of comforting another. And in the back of his mind, he knew it was wrong. He had to make it right before it went too far. “I’m just not sure how I’m going to explain this to my girlfriend,” Kavi mentioned so casually that it barely registered with him until he saw the look on her face.

April’s face went paler than the creature she was portraying with her costume as those final words came out of Kavi’s mouth. Her heart sank so unbelievably fast that she briefly felt like she was going to pass out. “Jesus fuck…” she stood from her seat and paced back and forth, running her hands through her hair nervously.

This wasn’t how it was supposed to go. April was supposed to be getting revenge, not feeling like shit because she probably broke another girl’s heart in the process. “Fuck Kavi, I am so unbelievably sorry...I feel like such an asshole. W-when you tell her, tell her it was all me...it was my fault. I did it.” April continued a very nervous pace back and forth before an idea spun together in her mind. There was still something she could do to get back at Santiago, and while it wasn’t the most ambitious of plans, it would definitely get everyone’s attention. “Kavi...I have an idea.”

Just when he was about to tell her she had a very small part in this, Kavi just watched her go back and forth. It wasn’t making him dizzy, thank god, but he lost sight of her a couple of times until she mentioned some idea. That was when he popped upright with a smile. “Well do tell. What sort of idea is brewing up in that beautiful brain of yours?” He inquired.

“I’m gonna call him out in front of everyone. Show him that I’m done with his shit.” she said proudly, before reaching down to grab Kavi’s hand. “I’m gonna need you to be up there with me for it though, just for the extra effect.” April said with a grin, before half-dragging Kavi back into the party, up to the front of the crowd and then into the DJ’s booth. “I need to borrow the mic if that’s alright.” she gave the DJ a pretty please look before being reluctantly given the mic. With Kavi still in tow, she tapped the mic a few times against her thigh to get the crowd’s attention before beginning to speak.

“Good evening King’s Academy!” April called out to the crowd in her best hype-up voice. “How’s everyone doing tonight?” She called out, resulting in a loud cheer from the crowd in response. “I just want to say a few things before we bring back the music. First off, I would like to thank Kavi here for throwing this amazing party and making this all possible. I would also like to thank him for being there for me when my boyfriend Santiago wasn’t! On that note, I would like to give a shoutout to the new couple that ran to the back a few minutes before, Santiago and Yessi! Congratulations you two! Let's give them a big round of applause!” April clapped her hands together. For a moment, the audience was hesitant to do anything--it was definitely an awkward moment--but after a deafening silence, a gentle clap began that slowly grew into full applause.

“On one final note!” She called out loudly. “Because of the current situation regarding our dear Devil of King’s Academy, I would like to make a big announcement. Santiago! You are the father! You are the father of the child I am carrying, in case you forgot! Yes! I am pregnant bitches!” April’s hand shook as she said these final words, the false confidence she’d had at the start was beginning to wear off as familiar faces and strangers alike stared at her. “And now, back to the music!” she called out at last, resulting in a brief cheer from the crowd before the thumping bass kicked back in and everyone began to dance once again.

April turned to Kavi, both hands still trembling. “...W-well...how was that?”

“I could just kiss you right now..” As soon as he said that, he awkwardly transitioned into a laugh. “Oh you know what I meant. That was great. Santiago and Astraia will probably be furious, so that’s good and you spoke like a pro. You have a natural talent for this.”

“It's about damn time someone called him on it. Now he can’t hide it from anyone.” April said, taking a deep, shaky breath. No more hiding anything.

"I couldn't agree more," he said, half of his attention on April but the other half was at the DJ's stage. “Just excuse me for one moment.” Kavi gestured towards April to hold whatever thought she was about to put to words as he went back to the DJ table, Alonzo rolling his eyes at Kavi.

“What now?”

“I just need to use the microphone for one or three moments.”

Annoyed, Alonzo handed it over. “Fine but make it quick!”

“Thank you!” Kavi imitated a grateful bow as smiled politely at Alonzo. “So sorry I’m interrupting again, I know but Ariel, if you’re still here, which I’m hoping that you are. If you’re not still pissed at me, can we talk?” Kavi said into the microphone. “If so, I’ll be waiting for you by the hot tub!” He said with a hopeful voice, trying not to feel awkward with everyone staring at him.

Soon Kavi stepped away from the table and did very little to meet the eyes and the mild laughter of those he passed by. He didn’t have time to really think about what they thought about him. There were more important things for him to focus on. He had to figure out what he was going to say to Ariel and if he should bring up the kiss with April or not. No, of course, he should. Kavi couldn’t run away from it. He learned that lesson last month at Homecoming. He had to at least make the attempt to do better this time around. He loved Ariel so much. Contrary to what everyone thinks and keep saying about him on social media, Kavi Salvador is capable of change!

“Now I just wait and pray she will answer my plea.”

Kavi always hated waiting. He always felt exposed but Ariel was worth it. She was worth everything.

”Stupid boys with their stupid penisis. Always gotta do what you need to in order to make them happy,” Ariel grumbled as she stomped through the crowd. ”Gods forbid someone could just say no. Then again, boys don’t understand that word.”

Why Kavi had gotten so mad about her not wanting to smoke with him, she would never understand. If he had decided to march of and get drunk, then so could she. With that mindset, she found herself at the drink table, picking up a fifth of vodka. It looked, smelled and tasted just like rubbing alcohol - but it had a slight burn on the way down as long as you chugged it. Ariel liked the burn. Propping herself up against the table, she looked to her left to find Cleopatra.

”Did someone piss you off too?” she asked.

Shawna was a bit surprised by the question from the… Little Mermaid five years after her marriage? She had no idea what her costume was. She had toasted Aaliyah with a refilled solo cup that was approaching 85% whiskey before her friend from a former life departed to find her own clique. Sure, her own squad had disappeared as well, but she wasn’t pissed off about it. Nothing a text couldn’t solve.

“No, at least not yet,” Shawna admitted as she turned to face the red-haired woman next to her. “But I don’t think I’m taking much of a leap to guess you haven’t been as lucky tonight?”

Ariel promptly opened the bottle, taking her first gulp before making an indescribable face of disgust and fighting the urge to gag. The first shot was almost always the worst. ”You would be correct.” she answered. ”Dudes are stupid, but such is life. Time to get wasted and harness my inner rage for no reason.”

Cleopatra nodded in agreement. “Hey, no argument here,” she said as she took a long sip from her own cup, barely tasting the Coke that had been splashed on top to give it a hint of flavor. However, the way this girl was going, she was going to catch up in no time. “Any dude in particular we should be hate-drinking to? Or can I just pick one of my own choosing? Cause I got one in mind…”

”Both?” Ariel suggested.

Shawna nodded slowly. “Yeah, I can do that,” She brought her cup around to conservatively dressed Fifth Element girl and offered a toast. “To fucking up Max’s shit, and to fucking up...” She was leading her new drinking partner on.

”Kavi’s shit,” she said, raising her bottle to the other girl’s cup. ”What did Max do?”

Another long drink of cola-flavored whiskey passed through Cleo’s lips. “Let’s just say, he hurt someone very deeply, someone who I may have some feelings for, and I want him to suffer for it.” Her formerly fresh cup was already half gone at this point. “What’s Kavi’s crime? Isn’t he hosting this thing?”

With a raised brow in a ‘oh, I see’ expression, Ariel took another few sips of her vodka before speaking. ”He tried to pressure me into something that I didn’t want to do. And when I politely declined, he decided to be an ass and blow everything out of proportion. Apparently I’m not allowed to do that, you see? So now he’s off drinking with some other guy and I plan to get just as shit faced as him. Maybe even more.”

“Shit, now I don’t feel so bad for drinking all his whiskey,” Shawna confirmed. “Well, I just met you… um… Terminator Wendy? I’m sorry, I have no idea on the costume. But hey, I’ll keep taking shots until I can figure it out. Can’t let a good girl get shit-faced alone. I mean, no one else is helping me with that but I can’t let someone else go through that, so here we go!” She finished the rest of her glass and reached back for the whiskey bottle that was taking some frequent hits tonight.

Ariel kept sipping her liquor, taking in the other girl’s words as she did so. About to tell Mystery Queen her name, Ariel heard her own over the speaker - after the bombshell that April was carrying Santiago’s baby. That was just one of those things everyone knew was coming anyway. What Ariel didn’t see coming though, was Kavi’s announcement.

”Thaaaat would be me,” she said, putting the bottle down on the table. ”The name’s Ariel, but you probably know that now? I don’t know. I’m tipsy. Nothing is starting to really make sense now. But! Thanks to you, I get to go and be drunkely pissed off at the hot tub. So, if you’ll excuse me your highness, I have a stupid man to go yell at.”

Shawna had no clue what was going on with the announcements, but Ariel was front and center and once she identified herself, it was clear she had even more ammunition for her quest to smash things. She also realized she should have went with the Little Mermaid guess. It would have been more accurate. “Hey, sure, I mean, if you want some backup, I’m here. It’s Shawna, by the way, under the crown and all. But yeah, go kick that hot tub’s ass if you need to, Ariel.”

”I’ll do my best to remember your name when I’m hung over in the morning. Thanks Shawna,” she said, turning on her heal to begin her journey.

The open display of a kiss he could tell was wet and sloppy from across the room had his hand clenched into a tight fist at his side. There was a quick rage that simmered into a disappointment as he watched the girl currently dancing on tightrope look around the room, to him it was obvious who she was looking for. So when their eyes met he gave her a determined nod and flashed a cool wink in her direction before ducking through the party, quickly moving away from the dance floor.

The drinks table was a welcomed sight and a much needed ally as he practically charged to them, bumping into someone along the way. Slowing up he reached a friendly hand to help steady the girl and offered an apologetic smile, “Shit, sorry, might be in too much of a rush.” he chuckled to himself as he looked over the seamlessly put together costume, “Killed any witches here yet Dorothy? Or are you neglecting your duties to babysit the drinks?” The beeping of his phone briefly drew his attention away as he looked down at the screen and couldn’t help the smirk that appeared from the message there and quickly typed a reply back.

To: Jeans
Bored already? How about making some friends? I’m by the alcohol.

With the text sent he split his attention between the guardian of alcohol and making himself a strong mix of tequila and cranberry juice, “So, have you seen anything juicy at this party yet?”

The few shots of Tequila that Sunshine had taken were just enough to give her a slight buzz. Thankfully, she was a happy drunk, and the alcohol made her feel floaty. So floaty that she didn’t even care when someone bumped into her, though she did accept the helping hand. Looking up into the face of the young man before her, she couldn’t help but notice his hair first. It was gorgeous. And so was the whole entire human standing before her. What did they put in the water here?

”Nothing spicy just yet. I just got here actually, Mr. Surfer Man.” Wow. Cringe. Could she really not do any better than that? Pushing the thought aside, she gave him a slight smile. ”I’m guessing you’re here to pick your poison?”

Aurelio lifted the black solo cup in his hands, offering a silent answer to her questions as he took a large gulp of the drink. The tequila was smooth and sweet enough to pair with the cranberry juice, and despite the cold temperature of the drink left a warmth in his throat and courage in his stomach. A quick glance around the room made him realize how great of a spot he had snagged, he could see everything and practically everyone, but it was rude to let your attention stray from a possible friend. “Just got here? To the party or to Florida? Not much like Kansas is it?” The tease was light as his brown eyes turned their full attention to her, she was cute, that was for sure.

On the other side of the room, Millie Jean was pushed against the wall as yet another environmentally unaware dick bumped into her. She had tapped away from the message she received from Arhellio or whatever his name was, deciding quickly that she would rather be stuck in perpetual boredom until it was time to go. With all these people pushing into her, though, she was beginning to rethink her decision.

Millie Jean weighed the pros and cons in her head. Pros: she could use the moderately well-sized guy as protection from the hooligans she is surrounded by, plus she could ease her boredom. Cons: social interaction, social interaction with a guy she doesn't know, social interaction with a guy she doesn't know who will forever remember her as a girl who talked about his nipples.

A particularly bulky guy shoved her away from the wall, her soda sloshing all over her arm and shoes. There were probably napkins at the drinks table, that at least made her decision easier.

Never the aggressive type, Millie Jean squeezed through the crevices between the mobbed bodies until she saw the familiar costume chatting up a girl next to him. God, this is going to be awkward. She snagged some napkins while standing to his left, wiping her arm down, and cleared her throat loudly for his attention. (Partly because she was embarrassed that she ended up coming to him despite her words, but mostly because she forgot his name.)

"Nothing like Kansas at all. Not enough wheat fields. Or tornados," she said as she took another shot. "And both actually. Despite the costume I'm actually from LA." Not that she missed it.

While she had friends back home, Sunshine actually liked the beaches of Florida more than she did the ones in California. Less earthquakes was always a plus to. Thinking of something else to say, another girl decided to stop by the drink table, clearing her throat. Sunshine attention was directed towards her long enough to give a brief greeting. "Oh hi!"

The summoning of the awkward wallflower worked quicker than Aurelio had imagined. A smug look of victory was on his face when he turned to look at Millie who did her best to stand inconspicuously beside him, “Don’t hold my breath, huh? You came over pretty quickly, did you miss me?” A playfully wink was thrown her way as he waved his arm towards Sunshine who had also turned her attention to Millie.

“Well, Jeans this is Dorothy, Dorothy this is Jeans an awkward wallflower who
be dressed as a Dia De Los Muertos girl but has really attended the party as the Judger of Nipples. So
out.”

Millie Jean grit her teeth and waved napkins in his face, "I just needed to get some napkins, I got soda on me. Hi, I'm Millie Jeans – I mean, Jean. I'm Millie Jean. What is your name – or should I call you Dorothy?"

"I like to think I have pretty decent nipples, so I don't think we should have a problem," Sunshine said unashamed, the alcohol completely removing any filter for her thoughts or words. The other girl - Millie - seemed a little stressed out. Maybe she needed a drink herself - not that that was something Sable would suggest. "Most people call me Sunshine, but my actual name is Sable." She paused for a moment, wondering if it was okay to ask her next question. "What's the deal with the nickname?"

Aurelio gave a laugh at Millie’s fumbling, and another deeper one at Sunshine’s comment and then brought his cup to his lips listening to Sunshine’s introduction. Ah Sunshine, it was fitting for her. “Cute nicknam- Jeans?” He supplied a quick shrug “Thought of it on the spot, I’m Aurelio by the way, everyone calls me Reli, you’ll probably see me around Chanel and Julie.” The mention of the latter girl made his lips pull down into a slight frown as his eyes scanned the room spotting the Fashion Diva making her way outside with another friend.

Millie Jean rolled her eyes, “You thought of it on the spot? You are so quick-witted.” This time around, she repeated his name several times in her head so she wouldn’t forget it.

Just as she had wiped the last almost-sticky spots of soda off her arm, a rush of people stumbled over each other to get to the front, and in the confusion, Millie Jean’s arm was knocked into her chest. Her soda splashed all down her chest, flecking dark dots across her neck and white face makeup. Her first instinct was to yell obscenities, but she just stood there with her hand slowly crushing the solo cup in her hands. A low sound, which was almost a growl but mostly a whine, pulled from her throat.

“Where,” Millie Jean cleared her throat, “can someone hand me a cup of whatever that is?”

The commotion was loud and Aurelio swore he heard the mentions of a fight, like Millie he caught a couple shoulders, and one particularly hard one that knocked him back against the table, sloshing the open liquids. A genuine concern flashed in his eyes as he looked over Sunshine, “You good Dorothy?” and then to Millie an apologetic smile on his face as he grabbed a handful of napkins, “Can I-?” he hesitated a moment before gently dabbing at the remnants of soda on her face an absentminded smile on his face as his shoulder shook gently with silent laughter.

Millie Jean made a sour face at Reli, but otherwise didn’t say anything. She grabbed some napkins to help clean herself up. When her mom asks how the party went, she’s going to flaunt this incident in her face. Maybe then she won’t be forced to go anywhere again.

One of the downsides to being tiny was having to move out of the way of much larger people. Mainly because larger people were assholes, but also because being tiny tended to make you invisible. One such incident would be when a jock - no way he wasn’t a jock - knocked in to her, causing her to stumble back a few feet. Hearing the crowd chant as to encourage the fight, Sunshine quickly looked over towards all the commotion. She didn’t recognize anyone involved, but then again she didn’t know anyone here. Reli’s voice brought her back down to earth.

”Wha- oh. No. Yeah. I’m fine,” she said, straightening her dress. ”Who’s the skinny guy? I feel like I might have a class with him or something, but I can’t really remember.”

“Doesn’t look familiar to me, I just got back to Palms a few weeks ago..” The answer was quieter than he intended as he dabbed a couple more times against Millie’s face before being satisfied with his handiwork. Pouring a bit more tequila in his cup he passed it off to Millie, “Here, you should be good now, besides your dress but I figured you didn’t want me to help with that… unless you do.” The teasing was evident in his tone but he sent a playful wink her way anyways, eyes trailing to the back of the house for the second time in their conversation.

Millie Jean gave him a dry look over the rim of her solo cup, sipping it. Her nose scrunched at the terrible taste and chugged the cup instead. Might as well get it over with. Absentmindedly, Millie Jean filled her cup halfway. Part of her wanted to ask why Reli came back to Palms, and why he left in the first place. She didn’t want to stumble across anything potentially personal, though; that would be too awkward for a guy she’s only hanging out with momentarily. In the distance, she tried to make out the skinny guy Sunshine had mentioned and realized she vaguely knew him; though not personally.

“His name is Archer Diedrikson. Smart, sells essays to the not smart. And that is Brad Leone, some dumbass in one of my classes.” Millie Jean took a big gulp before putting the cup down. It doesn’t taste better the second time, either.

”Boys being boys, I guess. I’ll never understand why high school is just a drunken state of constant fights, sex, and low GPA’s. But such is life.”

Aurelio gave a nod but couldn’t keep himself focused on the two girls near him, not when he hadn’t seen the flash of his favorite shade of red in the room anytime recently. Losing the hesitation of not coming off rude he flashed both Sunshine and Millie an apologetic smile, “Hey I need to go check up on someone, if you want to hang out sometime Jeans has my number, but it was nice to meet you. Have a great night.” He gave a quick wave to them before pressing on into the crowd making his way to where he last saw Chanel heading, she’d know
Millie Jean attempted to wave bye, by the time she lifted her hand, though, he had already been swallowed by the sea of people. She felt a bit dumb with her hand raised like that, so she pretended that she was fixing her hair instead and hoped Sunshine didn’t see.

“Okay, well, yeah.” She stuttered, picking up her drink to gulp half of it down.

The music cut out of nowhere, and a brunette stepped near the DJ. Millie Jean didn’t pay too much attention to her - she knew vaguely who she was, though not intimately, and was aware of rumors about her and Santiago. Millie Jean was more concerned with not choking on the terrible taste of the liquor that she was trying to finish. It’s only when certain keywords like ‘father’ and ‘pregnant’ (which she has wired herself to always pay attention due to Kellie Anne’s reckless personality) were used that Millie Jean started to pay attention. Good thing she had a napkin in her hand already, or she would have spat the tequila in Sunshine’s face. Her shoulders started shaking with laughter that she quickly covered with a series of fake coughs.

Man, Millie Jean needs to text this to - well, no one. She doesn’t have anyone to text this news to. Clearing her throat, Millie Jean looked to Sunshine and gave a tight smile, “I have to go. Bye.” Then struggled her way through the crowd.

”Announcements, strange disappearing hot people… Looks like I’ll settle in nicely.”

Location: The Salvador Residence
Interacting with: Bea Endive

Ever since he'd stepped foot into the Salvador residence, Carter Newton had practically been bombarded by multiple of his loyal customers that were in desperate need of a blunt — or three. Oh how bold he thought them all to be, correctly assuming that he'd be carrying a few pre-rolled joints on him, ready to be sold to those who found him before they were all gone. It wasn't long before all that was left of Carter's stash was one measly blunt. This one, he'd decided after his last deal, would be kept for himself. He was at a party, after all, and figured that he should indulge in the roughly two-hour-long, mind-numbing high that came with smoking one of his favorite sativa strains. So as soon as he'd drained the contents of his red solo cup, Carter tossed it into the nearby trash can before digging around in his jacket pocket. He didn't stop doing this until his fingers had finally wrapped around what he'd been searching for: a beautifully rolled, honey berry flavored Backwoods.

Carter didn't really care to think much about whether or not Kavi would appreciate him smoking in his house. No, he was too focused on going through the familiar motions of lighting and inhaling. And exhaling. And inhaling again.

It didn't take long for him to start feeling the effects of the cannabis edging in; Carter closed his eyes and leaned the back of his head against the wall as the comforting feeling spread throughout his entire body. It soon felt as though he were all alone in the large house; he'd tuned out the music that blared through the speakers and vibrated the entire floor, and had gone several minutes without saying much of anything to the young lady who stood next to him. It was only after the music paused and an unfamiliar voice began to pierce through the air that he returned back to reality. "You are the father of the child I am carrying, in case you forgot!" The voice said, causing Carter's eyes to shoot wide open. None other than April Foster stood at the DJ booth with the microphone gripped tightly in her hand. "Yes! I am pregnant bitches!"

The room was dead silent for what felt like forever, and to be quite honest, Carter had no idea what to do or say. Instead, he simply did as the rest of the crowd and stared up at the pregnant girl with a blank expression until the music finally resumed. "Well..." Carter spoke aloud for the first time in a while, "That's a bit shocking, isn't it? I mean, I guess we all sort of figured that Santiago was bound to knock someone up at some point — I'm just surprised that it turned out to be April." After saying this, Carter took another few hits from his blunt, only pausing when he caught a glimpse of Bea's facial expression.

"My bad, though. I'm being hella rude." Carter said as he exhaled a puff of smoke and held out the blunt in Bea's direction.

"You smoke?"

Ximena never really had any intentions of sleeping with Salem, truth be told she already knew she would have to do all the work while he sat there like a starfish and she wasn’t into playing mistress. She wasn’t even two words into their conversation behind closed doors when the cowardly lion finally grew a spin and stormed off in defiance. It was almost too comical for Ximena not to laugh, and so she did, letting out her suckling sweet laughter that could only be described as the wails of a charming succubus. Knowing the boy probably ran out to get some air and Marisol would follow suite, left her with room to breathe. No battles or knock out this time around but knowing that spirited chihuahua she would be back for her revenge. Taking her time to regain her composure and touch up on her make out and outfit left her with perfect timing. Headed for the door she pulled on the doorknob letting the light leak in through the small crack. Suddenly she stopped her pull when she heard the rambling of two voices, voices she knew. Her eyes jumped to the crack peering out in front, once in focus she saw none other than Kellie and Max.

”Wait hadn’t the two broken up so why?” the sudden revelation washed over and created a smile so sinister it could only have been matched by the Grinch. ”Oh poor little bird, Shawna is going to be devastated” Ximena thought. While the two were in the thralls of each other’s grip and gaze they failed to notice the eye watching from across the hall. With the door closed behind them, Ximena slithered out from behind the door like the snake she was. Tip toeing to the door she pressed her ear against the door gently, listening to the muffled conversation not meant to be heard.

“Are you sure this is what you want?”

It was silent and then an explosion of sound. Lips smacking together, and clothes being tossed only meant one thing, Ximena was sort of a connoisseur in that area. The bouncing of the springs in the bed and the playful giggles lined with more smooches only confirmed what she already knew. Jack pot. With this she could inject her venomous bite into another unsuspecting lover. With a feeling of radiance about her Ximena made her way to the stairs in order to bring Shawna the bad news. That was her plan at least, until she saw Kavi and April at the bottom of the stairs. Satan really must have been working harder than god tonight or perhaps she was just in the right place at the right time. She quickly stopped her walk and crouched down so the railing would somewhat block her from view, not that they were paying any lick of attention.

The wicked witch of the west heard every single juicy detail to the last drop. If she didn’t have enough on Santiago this would be more than enough to put the cherry on top. Yet it didn’t stop there, the sudden assault on Kavi’s lips by April was perfect. Ximena managed to get her phone out in time and snag a picture while Kavi contemplated the morality of kissing a very taken girl. Following their lead back to the party, she casually made her way down the stairs and took her victory lap back to the main atrium. The victory that tasted so sweet had turned sour in learning the revelation of Aprils pregnancy with Santiago being the father. ”Hijueputa! Yessi is going to be crushed. I must find her or Reli-- she thought before her eyes met a direct path to Shawna keeping guard of a very lonely table of alcohol. “Well I guess this could wait just a little bit longer” her patented devious smile resurfacing before the scene faded to black.

An @Altered Tundra & @HaleyTheRandom Collaboration featuring Kavi Salvador & Ariel Grey
So Kavi wanted to apologize. Cool. Great. Fine. Dandy. He should want to apologize. Ariel was the over-reactor in the relationship, not him. He couldn’t just swap roles with her and expect her to just go along with it. But if Kavi wanted to apologize, she figured that she should hear him out. If all else fails, well, she could yell at him. In her somewhat drunken state, it took her just a little longer than usual to maneuver around the Salvador residence. Taking a moment to spot Kavi, she forced her way through yet another crowd of people. With nothing else to say, she would decide on the perfect ice breaker rather quickly.

”What?”

“I didn’t think you would show up. Thought maybe you were too mad at me, but I’m glad you did.” Kavi smiled towards her, wanting to hug Ariel, which he did attempt to but from the way her body was acting and the way her fists were balled up and how apprehensive she was towards him, he had it on good authority they weren’t there yet.

She took a deep breath, doing her best to calm her nerves. While she managed to unball her fists and crossed her arms, Ariel didn’t return his smile. ”Relationships require communication. That’s why I’m here. Now, what’s on your mind?”

As he would take a seat on the edge of the hot tub, Kavi tried really hard to think what he wanted to say to her. What could he say that wouldn’t sound like a half-assed attempt to get her to forgive him? He could say that he was sorry for calling her crazy, say that he shouldn’t have mocked her when she was in front of him, and try pressuring her to smoke weed with him. All of that didn’t amount to anything because he felt the pinging guilt inside about what he and April did. It was eating away at him and Kavi wanted to say something right now. Get it out there so she could hear it from him and not someone else. He needed to tell her. He didn’t like the situation, but he made his own bed and Salvador men don’t turn away from their problems, they faced them head-on.

He took in the slowest breath he could, or what felt like a slow breath. His head was bowed down to the ground, hands on his thighs as he felt them shake. To gain some control over his body, Kavi curled up his hands into balls and slowly nodded to himself. He had this. He could do this. “I can do this,” he repeated to himself slowly. With every inch his head went up, he kept repeating the same line over and over. So when he met her eyes yet again, the time Kavi took to finally open his mouth, she had to have been just waiting impatiently. He couldn’t think about that right now. He had to say it. “Something happened. After you stormed out. I mean, something happened with me and--”

Before Kavi could say it -- or at least attempt to get it out -- he heard both his and Ariel’s phone ring. Even with the music bumping, their ringtones seemed to be at full blast. “Now is not the time for..” And that’s when his heart sank. Literally, his entire chest stopped for maybe one second as his worst fears came to life. Someone had tagged both he and Ariel in an Instagram story that caught the short make-out session between him and April. “H-how...w-when…” Kavi had forgotten how to English. “A-ariel, I can explain..”

It was easy to tell the Kavi was nervous by his body language alone. The fact that his apology was taking so long only added to Ariel's anger, even if he was nervous - though what about she had no clue. After all, apologies were never anything to be nervous about. Unless you sent someone an awkward dick pic. Then you should apologize. But for Kavi, random dick pics weren’t the case. Regardless, Ariel stood there, paying close attention to the rhythm of the bass beneath her feet. Her eyes never strayed from Kavis face, and while she was trying to be understanding, she could also tell that something else had to be wrong - or at least that’s what she hoped. If an apology honestly made him this torn up, Ariel didn’t know rather Kavi had it in him to find what decency was left.

When the song changed, her phone went off, signaling a notification. Just like every other teenager, Ariel had the immediate reaction to reach for her phone and check said notification. Seeing a familiar username tag her in an Instagram story, she opened the app up, as Kavi was doing the same.

Her brain still being a little clouded from her drunken stupor, it didn’t take Ariel much to realize what she was looking at. Kavi was - or had been - lock faced with none other than April Foster.

If fate hadn’t decided to send her a rage fueling angel named Shawna, perhaps Ariel would have had the initial thoughts of comparing herself to April. The ‘am I not as pretty as her’ and the ‘why the fuck did he go to her’ thoughts. She would tuck them away for a good cry during her sad boi hours at a later date. Instead, what came to her was a sinking feeling in her stomach. The sort of feeling that feels like you’ve been punched and makes you want to hurl. The sort of feeling that Kavi had not caused her to feel once, but twice.

Her left hand balled into a fist, her right hand clutching her phone for dear life as her knuckles turned white, Ariel took what seemed like her millionth deep breath for the night.

”What,” she began, her voice nearly a whisper. ”The. Fuck.” Pressing her lips into a thin line, she focused on her breathing. In and out, calm and steady. His nose had just healed. Considering that it was a nice nose, she didn’t want to break it again. That and Mr. Salvador might not be a lenient this time. ”Why…” She put her phone back in her pocket, un-balling and balling her fists back up in a repetitive motion. ”Why do you….” Closed eyes. Deep breaths. ”.... Insist on constantly humiliating me?”

Kavi closed his eyes waiting for something to happen. What did he expect? A punch in the groin, a fist to the nose again, a swift kick to the jewels. All of those would have been a lot more favorable than her eerily-calm voice speaking to him in such a low tone that it somehow felt a lot worse than all three of those things would have. Calm, empty disappointment stung worse than any sort of act of physical violence ever could and Kavi had only felt that particular blow twice in his life: once with his father after he was released from jail and now, from Ariel.

And to make matters worse, she wanted to know why? “Why? What do you want me to say? I don’t know what to say, Ariel. I can be the self-pitying cliche and say I’m a terrible person and you should have known better or it wasn’t me, it was her. Yeah, I don’t know, I could tell you I slipped inside her mouth cause I’m such a clutz.” Somehow Kavi knew making a joke out of this made it worse but what cards did he have left to play? He had nothing. So yeah, he was going to joke and maybe walk away with some form of self-respect.

Did he really just ---- Yes. Yes he did.

”You wouldn’t have to think of what to say if you didn’t put yourself in these freaking situations,” she spat at him, her voice now returning to a normal level and rising. ”First Nadia. Now April. Who next? Xixi? Some other fucking side hoe?” Calm. Deep breaths. No reason to cause a scene. ”Do you wanna be the next one to get April pregnant? Or did you just want to step in and be the stepdad in some piss poor way to try and redeem your shitty personality?”

Ariel had gone from being dangerously calm to now nothing but straight fury; her anger blinding her from the fact that she had inched closer and closer towards him. ”I wanna make this work,” she did in her best Kavi mocking impression. ”Is this a game to you? A joke? Do I look like a complete fucking fool to you? Or did someone tattoo ‘dumb bitch’ across my forehead when I wasn’t looking?” Close your eyes. Count to ten. ”You. Are. A. Completely. Self-centered. Asshole! On the last word, she felt her arms raise, and before she knew it, Kavi was pushed back as he was falling backward into the hot tub.

His impact with the warm little pool created a splash that carried water to the side and splashed others, who didn’t pay it any mind other than laughing at Kavi Salvador and clapping for Ariel Grey as everyone had heard it. Or at least everyone who was near Kavi and Ariel.

And while the cheers came in and the eruption of laughter seemed to match the loud, pulsing music of Marilyn Manson’s cover of This is Halloween, Kavi fussed with how his body betrayed him as it forbade him from getting up immediately. When he finally regained control, he came back to his feet just in time to stop Ariel from leaving. He let her leave last time and he made the worst mistake anyone could make in a relationship. He wasn’t about to let it happen a second time. When he had grabbed on her wrist, it was a frail attempt and his grip was lost due to his hand still being wet from the hot tub water, so he quickly hopped in front of her, stopping her from going any further.

“Will you just wait a minute?” He pleaded. “You can’t just walk away like that. I’m not going to let this go unfinished. You want to talk about our issues? Fine, let’s talk! If I meant anything to you, give me five minutes. That’s all I’m asking for, Ariel. Five minutes and if by then you don’t want anything to do with me, then I’ll back off and leave you alone.”

”If I meant anything to you, you wouldn’t have kissed someone else. I’ve got major urge to break shit, and you’re the only thing in front of me. So either move, or let me break your face again.”

He inhaled slowly, already regretting what he was about to do. “If breaking my nose, kicking me repeatedly will give me five minutes, then do what you have to, Ariel,” he said standing his ground. “Cause I’m not moving until you give me a chance to explain everything.” Whatever may come his way, Kavi was prepared to take the full brunt of her heartbroken rage.

Ariel was doing her absolute best to not cry angry tears, and Kavi was making it extremely hard to do so. ”That’s the problem. I don’t want to break you. I want to break things. How about I get to break shit for five minutes while you talk. Compromise.”

And again, she surprised him. He didn’t quite know exactly what was going to happen, but Kavi nodded. At the end of the day, the fact that she was willing to give him five minutes was more than he deserved. If he was her, he would have gone for the nose again, which still was in recovery since the brace has only been off for a week. So maybe Kavi should be grateful it wasn’t him she wanted to punch repeatedly.

“Where do you want to go? To my room maybe? It’ll be a lot less noisy in there.” He didn’t know why he suggested his room. All of his favorite things were in his room. Oh well, too late to turn back now.

She quickly calculated a rough estimate of how much money was sitting in his bedroom. PlayStation, TV, Radio, Speakers…. She could even set his bed on fire if it came to that. ”Room is good,” she said simply, grabbing him by his wrist and dragging him with her.

Pushing her way through the crowd - shoving when need be - Ariel led the way to the chamber of breakable expensive stuff. Kavi seemed to be enjoying no part of this ordeal, but the people who were taking pictures of their wet host seemed to be entertained enough. Stepping over the lightweights that were already passed out in the hall, she opened the door to the bedroom. Still half dragging Kavi, she planted him on the bed.

”Sit and talk. What you say first decides what I break first.”

Kavi took a seat on his bed. It was the perfect vantage point to see exactly where Ariel was walking and what she would break first. Everything in his room, theoretically, was replaceable. It would cost him a year’s allowance and he would have to dial it back on the brand name products, but he could replace it all. So he wasn’t worried about it, but seeing stuff he has been with for over two years was going to be tough to process.

He inhaled deeply, eying Ariel carefully and with enough caution and worry that now she was the man and he was the dumb bitch. “That Instagram story only showed you the act. I’m not excusing myself from being partially guilty. I know what I did was a shitty thing, but what you don’t know is what happened before.” As he began, he saw her eying his electronics. “I mean…” He had to get a grip and more importantly, get it all out in one go. “Before I even found April, Santiago and his crew were having a beer pong match. Someone said something about their mother and Aiden got laid out. Santiago went off with Astraia Astor somewhere and that got me thinking about April. I thought she had a right to know, so I ventured inside and went to find her. And wouldn’t you know it? I did find her parked by the stairs with nobody around but her.” Saying all of that felt like a weight was lifted. It actually made him feel good. Kavi did a good thing by seeking out April.

”So seeing a guy sneaking off with someone that wasn’t his girlfriend made you want to do the same. Got it.”

Truth to be told, Ariel wasn’t really listening. She didn’t care what he had to say right now, and probably wouldn’t for quite some time. Surveying the room, she spotted one of his Judo trophies on the shelf. She waltzed over, picked it up firmly in her grasp and took yet another deep breath. Playstation or TV? TV. Kavi didn’t have a baseball bat in his room, so the trophy would have to work. And so she swung.

Again, and again, and again. The cracking sound of the TV screen gave her a certain sense of euphoria, which only fueled her need to break things even more. With her final blow to the TV, it finally fell to the floor. Brushing the loose hair from her face, she turned to Kavi.

”Continue.”

“Well, I..I mean…”

Kavi felt a part of him die when just two acts of unnecessary carnage was unleashed in his room. First was irreplaceable, first place judo world championship trophy he won when he was thirteen. One of his proudest achievements now being used to destroy his sixty-inch television, the smart TV that he had for six months which he was immensely attached to. While the trophy remained, the smart television was no more. The only part of it that remained were the stands used to hold it up against his wall and now he was left with a firm dread set in his stomach and heart, knowing full well that this was just the first of many acts of violence Ariel was about to commit.

He didn’t want time to waste, but how could he find the words when he knew she wasn’t listening? No, he had to say it. At least then he could say he didn’t leave anything unspoken. “After I found her, we started talking. First, it was just catching up. Haven’t really seen her since homecoming and so we talked and, well I guess it just went from that into her confiding in me. Honestly, you would have been proud of me. I didn’t initiate anything! Only thing I did was let her know I was there for her. You know, like I was there for you after that visit to the principal’s office!” Somehow, Kavi just knew she wouldn’t take it the way that he meant it.

”Proud of you?!” she shrieked. ”If you hadn’t have sought her out in the first place you wouldn’t have had to ‘be there for her’,” she said, doing air quotes while she mimicked the last part of the sentence. ”If you want to be there for somebody next time -” she threw the trophy at the wall across the room. ”Buy them a freaking teddy bear!”

“And I wouldn’t have had to seek April if you didn’t storm out like a crazy person!” Kavi snapped and he knew it was the wrong thing to snap with.

Cue the angry tears and picking up of the PlayStation. A crazy person. There were those words again. She wouldn’t have had to storm out if Kavi wasn’t trying to force her to do something she didn’t want. She wouldn’t have had to storm out if she would have just punched Kavi in his face and cause a scene again. She wouldn’t have had to storm out of the room constantly if…. If.....if she was dating anyone but Kavi.

The more she thought about, the more her grip tightened on the gaming system, her knuckles turning white in the process. She couldn’t even think of what to say at the moment. All she could think of was how badly she wanted to hit him now instead of just break his things.

”Are you really that stupid,” she growled, chucking the PlayStation at him and he had immediately ducked.

“What the fuck is wrong with you!?” Kavi gasped, turning his head around briefly to see the pile of mechanic parts of his Playstation 4 resting on his bed and some of it against his wall. As the gaze lingered, he slowly turned back to Ariel. He was truly at a loss for words.

“You’ve lost it!” He said, still in shock that she actually tried to hit him with his formerly-functional gaming console. “You know what? Screw this, Ariel!” Whether premature or not, Kavi was past his breaking point. “I thought you were at a point to be reasoned with, but fuck all of this. You did this, not me! If you weren’t so full of all kinds of issues and overreacted to every little god-forsaken thing, then maybe I wouldn’t have been in a situation that put me in April’s radar. You didn’t want to smoke weed with me? Fine! Maybe you should have just made it clear. Don’t want to be here? Alright cool, then just say so. But no, Ariel fucking Grey has to make every little damn thing about her!”

Kavi was mentally exhausted being someone who he obviously wasn’t. He did everything different for her. He gave up who he was and what everyone expected him to be. He tried being the devoted boyfriend that he thought she deserved. He tried being the kind of person who didn’t clap back at someone by dating whoever was close to them. He had tried being all of that and more, but it wasn’t worth the headache.

“I’m just done trying to meet your unreasonable expectations and everyone else’s for that matter. You don’t like it? Then fucking get out of my life!” Kavi shouted as his voice cracked and before long his throat was drier than the Sahara.

”Maybe I wouldn’t overreact if you acted like it was okay for me to feel something! Maybe I wouldn’t overreact if you expect for everyone to make you happy every second of every goddamn day. You think you have to live up to people's expectations? You think that you have to go out of the way to be someone your not? Try being happy twenty-four seven so that this doesn’t happen when you aren’t.”

The tears were rolling down her face even faster now, the lump in her throat growing larger by the second. ”And for the record, I did make it clear that I didn’t want to smoke your weak ass weed with you. And then you overreacted. I tried to be the adult this time Kavi. I tried to walk away to give you time to cool off. I could have been reasoned with - IF you hadn’t had went off and shoved your fucking tongue down April's throat. Excuse me for not being okay with that! I’m not sure what female wouldn’t react in a similar way that I am.”

She wiped her face off before speaking again. ”If you know that I have ‘issues’ then why don’t you try talking to me to see what fucking triggers me next time, hm? Maybe try not being such a fucking dick. Just because your girlfriend doesn’t want to do what you want doesn’t give you the right to go find comfort in some other chick. Me saying no shouldn’t put anyone on your radar for any reason. Ever. She wouldn’t have been on your radar if you didn’t want to be a whore in the first place.

”Want me to leave? Fine. ‘Get out of your life’? Fine. Done.”

Walking across the room, she gave him one last ”Fuck you, Kavi Salvador” before opening the bedroom door and slamming it shut behind her so harshly, a sound of crashing glass frames were heard for a brief moment before being mostly muffled from the door.

A Collaboration between @ineffable and @Moro featuring Sawyer Lockwood and Georgia Fielders with a sprinkle of Gavin Lockwood

Gavin had managed to get himself in the middle of some other party-goers conversation, his interests suddenly peeked elsewhere as he caught his brother out of the corner of his vision. He looked pissed. Shit. Gavin began to pull away from the group before being grabbed up into a massive hug. ”Heyyyyyy !” Gavin groaned to himself but plastered a huge smile on his face for his friend, hugging her back with equal force.

Sawyer had made his way over to the bar, a long stretch of many choices to choose from. The boy thought of just snatching a whole bottle to himself, but he knew he had to hold back on things tonight or he’d have to deal with the disappointed brother looks the following morning. Sawyer snagged a bottle of Fireball from the selection and poured it into a cup, tossing it back with ease. He stood there a moment contemplating another cupful, staring down at the bottom of the plastic cup.

Georgie was heading over to the booze table when she saw a flash of a white toga pass her. Instantly her head snapped around to look. It was Max, his hair all tousled and his muscles fully on display through the fabric. She almost walked up to him to say hi but in another terrifying instant she caught his hand tangled up in another girl’s. Georgie followed the interlocked hands up to the face of Kellie Anne and her heart stuttered. Of course, Max was back with her. She was perfect and far from anything Georgie would’ve seen in herself. Georgie really had believed that was going to be able to move on from Sawyer with someone else. Some distraction that wouldn’t keep reminding her of something that could’ve been. But the plan had failed and she would have to come up with something else, a way to nurse back her heart after too many times broken and partially mended.

Much too late Georgie realized that her eyes were shining with tears. God, was she really that weak? What was one failed dream after another? She shook her head mournfully before surveying the alcohol on the table. Fireball. That sounded like a good idea. She saw another hand put it down and instantly reached out to grab it, not even bothering for a cup before pouring some of it straight down her throat and feeling the miraculous burn it left.

Sawyer sucked on his upper lip, still staring down into the cup when he finally decided on another fill. The boy went to reach out for the bottle and missed, his brow furrowing as he focused his eyes on the bar where he could have sworn he left the bottle at. He slowly pulled his eyes up to scan for whoever had taken it from him. His eyes found the prize, and had he had any drink in his mouth he’d have spit it out right then and there. Georgie.

The poor boy felt his chest get tight, swallowing anxiously. Part of him wanted to get the hell out of dodge and avoid whatever could happen in the next few moments, but the other part? The hopeless romantic who still had a lot to apologize for? He wasn’t letting the former half move his feet. As if wearing cement shoes, he was stuck in place. The boy slowly placed his Darth Vader helmet on the bar and tapped Georgie’s shoulder lightly. ”Hey, um.. Miss? Do you mind? I kind of had a claim on that first.” he kept his tone light and joking, throwing his charming smile in for added friendliness.

Georgie felt the tap on her shoulder and burst out indignantly ”Can’t a girl get over some heartbreak here? Or do you have to interrupt me?” she turned to look at the offender before tilting her head to the side. By god she was hallucinating. And her brain had come up with some strange things too. Sawyer was dressed in...well...practically nothing and he was smiling at her. The smile she’d been on and off dreaming about ever since their fight. There was no doubt about it. She had gotten way too drunk for tonight.

She huffed before she addressed Sawyer loudly ”Really brain? Are you messing with me right now? This?! This is what you come up with.” and with that she pushed what she thought was an imaginary Sawyer on the shoulder roughly. Huh. She actually felt skin under her fingers. What the hell? Georgie reaches up a hand and ran a finger along his cheek. Okay so her brain had conjured up some kind of physical deity here. Or was she touching someone else and thinking it was Sawyer? What was going on?

Sawyer’s smirk only spread when she began talking loudly to herself, his brow shooting up as she shoved his shoulder and kept his eyes on her. As she reached a hand up, his smirk faltered and his expression changed. A slight confused panic spread to his face as he tilted his head, his face burning red hot as her finger traced his cheek tenderly. Sawyer grit his teeth tightly, keeping eye contact with Georgie. The boy fought reaching his own hand up to grab hers, taking a deep breath before speaking softly as he always had to her.

”If you wanted a drink that badly, luv, all you had to do was say so.”

The boy let a bit of his previous smile return, soft and charming. ”Would hitting me over the head with the bottle help further solidify this hallucination you think you’re having of me?” Now that he thought about it, he was glad she was thinking she was hallucinating him. But..wait.... heartbreak?! Sawyer’s smile faltered slightly as a small flame burned inside of him. He knew from Gavin’s spilled gossip that Georgie had a crush on his teammate Max, but Max knew quite well that if he ever hurt Georgie there’d be hell to pay. Sawyer’s eyes scanned the crowd around them a moment. He had just been with Max. How could he have fit interaction in with Georgie between the beer pong table and the bar? Sawyer put it out of his mind and returned his gaze to the obviously drunk girl before him, smirking a bit.

Georgie listened to her hallucination speak to her before she startled back to reality. The way he spoke, the way he acted. This seemed real. And if this was real then...she was touching him. As in the actual Sawyer. Georgie gasped and withdrew her hand from his cheek quickly, her own burning up in embarrassment. She hadn’t met Sawyer face to face in such a long time and just looking at him now hurt more than she would ever openly claim.

”Sorry, Sawyer. I...um...I’m just too drunk. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to push you...or touch you...or anything.”

She knew it was him now, and she was talking to him. This was good Sawyer let out a heavy sigh and half-smiled, rubbing the back of his neck firmly. ”No need to apologize, Georgie. I-it’s okay. Really.” Sawyer presses his lips into a thin line, looking down at his cup before taking a glance around at the rest of the partiers, then back to the girl before him. ”Georgie, I uhh-“ the boy’s words caught in his throat, giving the girl a look-over. Charlie Chaplin. Hmm.

He nervously laughed, suddenly remembering what he was wearing before picking up his helmet to hold it, hoping to cover up a bit more. It took a moment for Sawyer to collect his thoughts, slowly holding up his cup. ”I—I don’t think I’ve had enough yet. D-do you mind..?” He was mentally kicking himself. WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT, LOCKWOOD?! he angrily thought at himself.

She had to be more angry. That was what she would have to muster in order to get past Sawyer but she couldn’t help letting loose a small smile of her own. This was familiar. This was home. And she couldn’t help but lean in slightly as he started to talk. It was up to him to bring this in whatever direction he desired and she sure hoped that maybe they’d be able to cross a small bridge. But that was the other weaker Georgie talking. This was the guy who had given up their friendship for a never ending supply of drugs and the droppable happiness that came with a high.

As the next words fell out of her mouth Georgie was reminded again how his words could hurt her, and she recoiled away from the bottle of alcohol that she had placed down already on the table. Her features hardened and she stepped away from him slightly, gesturing with a sour expression to the Fireball.

”Go ahead.”

As his words left his mouth, he could practically feel the air around them turn cold and dense. Her body language changed as she pulled herself away from him, his heart dropping, along with his smile. Fuck. He immediately set the cup and his helmet down and took a half step closer to her, pushing past the feeling of a lump in his throat to speak to her. ”Georgie wait, please.” The boy looked down at the hand that had sprung up to reach out to her, slowly retracting it. He didn’t want to touch her and anger her further. Sawyer grit his teeth as he forced himself to take that step back, giving her space.

”Georgie, I..what I’d meant to say before, is....” He couldn’t help but stop in his tracks. He felt weak in the knees and sick to his stomach. In a rush, the boy mushed all the words together, ”GeorgieImsorryforeverything.” Sawyer ran a shaky hand through his hair, taking an even shakier breath as he held her gaze, trying to fight the tears that threatened to come pouring down. He could cry in front of her, but not here. Not in front of all these people. Especially if that prickhead Aiden decided to show his face again, it’d be all over.

Georgie stopped when she heard his voice again and mentally berated herself for following in what Sawyer said. Out of the corner of her eye she saw the hand that he had in the space between them and she wanted more than anything to hold it but she stopped herself before everything got worse. Swaying on her feet and watching the world blur around her, Georgie tried to capture all her thoughts. She watched his face carefully as he apologized and was shocked to see his eyes glistening somewhat. Was he crying? Watching him upset had always caused a pang in her heart and now her heart thudded in her chest.
”Sorry...sorry for what? What exactly took you two years to say sorry? What happened to you?” Georgie realized she was shaking and combined with her drunkenness she was sure she was close to falling over. Her vision was starting to get splotchy and the world spun on its axis. This really was the worst moment for an apology.

Sawyer visibly winced at her words, holding himself up on the bar. He too was feeling a bit woozy, doing everything in his power to keep his balance. The room seemed to be doing summersaults, and the heightened emotion going on between them wasn’t helping the matter. His voice dropped a little lower, stepping a bit closer to Georgie to close as much distance between them as possible without intruding on her personal space. Although, that seemed a bit tough to do as he was swaying slightly. His footing not as firm as he initially thought it was.

”Georgie, y-you..” the boy held his arms out to the side, nearly stumbling in the process. ”Did’ju r’ly expect me to juss let you sit there on the sidelines so you could watch me go through that? You can’t ev’n imagine how hard that shit iz to quit! You don’ know how hard it was fer me to do what I did! To myself, but most especially t-to you.” the last bit was nearly a whisper as Sawyer dropped his arms to his sides again.

”I tried... so hard to quit. For you, Georgie. You know that?” Sawyer laughed humorlessly, shaking his head as he took a step back away from her. The boy’s gaze fell to his shoes as he grit his teeth and focused on a pattern on the floor to help him stay in place. What took me two years... well, for starters.. my best friend was gone, my brother and I’s mother died, and I pushed away the only girl I ever loved!!” as he spoke, his voice grew increasingly louder, his fists that had balled up tightly in the midst of his momentary anger slowly unfolded and his shoulders dropped.

He looked around at a few people who had turned to stare, glaring a moment before his expression softened as he turned his attention back to his feet with a heavy sigh. With a more defeated tone to his words, he added softly, ”—because I didn’t wanna hurt her, and yet... that’s exactly what ended up happening anyway because I literally can’t do a single damn thing right except fuck everything up.”

It took a moment for Sawyer to realize tears had begun pouring down his face, quickly brushing the evidence away as he looked back up at Georgie, a hardened expression returning to his features. ”I’m sorry, Fielders. This was a mistake. I should have just stayed..stayed away. Good luck with… Prince Charming, or whoever it was you were so broken about before you ran into me. Hope it w-works out for you.” the boy pushed himself off of the bar and began to shuffle off towards the door. He’d had enough. He was going to go home to wallow in his self-pity.

Georgie listened as Sawyer slurred his words. She hadn’t really begin to digest much of what he was saying before he’d started talking about how he loved her. Did that mean that she hadn’t imagined it all to herself? That all the games of What if... weren’t for nothing? And he quit because of her, right, but he hadn’t decided to quit when they’d come face-to-face to it earlier, did he? She’d told him so many times that he should quit, that it would ruin him but he’d just never listen until she’d told him to choose and in the end it seemed like he had chosen the high. Not her. But he was apologizing now and he had gotten over the addiction. He was better.

Georgie remembered when she heard about Mrs. Lockwood’s death and how her heart hurt for both of them, not just Gavin who’d she’d taken care of day in and day out. She’d always wished she could’ve brought the soup she made to Sawyer as well, to give him a hug and tell him that everything would be okay. She wished she would’ve been there for him but she couldn’t because of the rift between them. Thinking of everything now, it just seemed like she had been a total and utter asshole. She’d never really made it up in her mind to actually talk to him...but maybe that was because she already knew that he didn’t value her opinion. Georgie didn’t know that she had it in her to hand him the forgiveness he deserved or not. They’d been fighting for so long and maybe he was really better off without her.

She didn’t know what to say or do but she knew, even though she was out of her mind, that the right thing to do here was to talk it out with him. When she’d done something wrong in the past she had always called him, late at night when the stars were out and she was wallowing in how she’d managed to break yet another relationship. And he’d always been there to answer her, to talk to her about everything and to tell her that maybe sometimes an apology was always the best thing. She needed to apologize to Sawyer for not being able to stick it out with him. For not being more encouraging instead of offering an ultimatum. And she needed to tell him it back, the words she’d been waiting to say for such a long time.

This was what she was going to do as she grabbed his arm and pulled him towards her, albeit shakily because the world had started to spin again. The words were cobbled together lazily but they were already spilling out.

”Sawyer! Wait! I need to tell you...I just need to tell you that I’m sorry and that I lo-”

If not for the vomit that spouted out of her mouth and sprayed all over him...it would’ve been a perfect moment.

Location: Kavi's dank ass house
Interactions: Carter, Heorgia
Color: E0633C

"Nice to see you here too, Beatrice," Shit, did everyone just know who she was? She inclined her head slightly and brought her arms out in a grand gesture. "Have any trouble succumbing to social pressures that tell you that you have to look a certain way in order to please a certain crowd?" Here Prince lost her. She blinked up at him in silence for a moment as the gears in her brain were trying to process the information. What the hell was he on about? Who was she trying to please? She opted to take a sip of her drink rather than reply. "You look great though, enjoying the party?" She nodded vacantly as her eyes began to travel over the crowd. She wasn't very much fun to be around these days, it seemed.

Her attention was soon drawn to the DJ booth as April stopped the music and made her announcements. The final one, about the pregnancy, caused Bea to blink, shake her head, and look toward her partner who was smoking that funny smelling shit. The music started up again.
"Well..." Carter said. "That's a bit shocking, isn't it? I mean, I guess we all sort of figured that Santiago was bound to knock someone up at some point — I'm just surprised that it turned out to be April. My bad, though. I'm being hella rude. You smoke?" She looked between his face and the offered blunt before she slowly shook her head.

"No, thanks, man. As for the resident playboy, I'm honestly surprised its taken this long." She cradled the solo cup in her hands as she stared into the murky liquid inside. All around her relationships were falling apart. Kavi was even begging for a second chance. Publically. For whatever reason, it was sitting heavily on her heart. Made her feel antsy and agitated. She twirled some blonde hair around her fingers and was just in time to see Georgie spill her guts, quite literally. Sawyer was there and she wondered if they were renewing intentions to each other. Or, would be after Georgie was finished being down with the sickness. She heaved a heavy sigh as she looked up toward Carter.

"I think your date wasn't too fond of Sawyer's costume." HA! A joke. Bea gestured toward the scene of disgusted party-goers. "Wanna help? If Georgie needs carrying I don't think I'll make the cut." She had a good amount of experience taking care of other people though. She spoke the drunk language well enough and didn't mince words. Being a stick of a girl and a shorty to boot meant she wasn't so good about getting them where they needed to go. Without awaiting a reply she made her way toward the pair of star-crossed lovers. She reached out a hand and placed it on Georgie's arm. "Hey babe, let's get you cleaned up, hmmm?"

An @Altered Tundra & @Inkarnate Collaboration Post featuring Kavi Salvador & Mac Davenport

“I’m so utterly stupid.”

Kavi lost count how many times those words left his mouth and how long he had been staring at the carnage in his room. Ariel’s rage may have left the building, but her impact remained. Everywhere from where his prized television was mounted to one of three judo trophies he had acquired over the course of ten years was snapped in half, and a brutally-destroyed Playstation 4 that sparked a few times since being decimated, its sticky parts stuck to his wall like a new coat of paint. As much damage that was done, as much carnage that remained in his room, devoid of sound and life, nothing could top how he had effectively killed any and all chances of salvaging his relationship with Ariel. And what was the final nail in the coffin? Was it digging his nose in Santiago and April’s relationship? Was it consoling April when her baby’s daddy wasn’t around to do it for her? Or maybe it was not stopping the kiss that April had initiated almost immediately after it happened?

He couldn’t stop playing the conversation in his mind. How he blew up at her, ruining his only chance to explain. “No, it wasn’t possible..” Kavi knew there was no way for him to explain it. He let another girl kiss him and almost kissed her back. Then, of all things, he acted like he did nothing wrong. “God, why was I so stupid?”

He walked up to his wall, looking at its blankness for nearly a minute, his forehead pressed against it. He started to bang his head slowly, each time the banging noise getting harder until part of it cracked. Time and time again he went at it as if he was really trying to do some serious damage. After a full minute of repeated smashing, Kavi stopped and saw a small forehead-shaped blood print and soon he was starting to see red drip down his face along the inside corners past his eyes and along both sides of his nose. Matters were made worse when Kavi’s dripping hair thinned the blood out and caused it to pour down his face at a faster rate.

Kavi couldn’t stop staring at the damned bloodprint. Why couldn’t he stop staring at it? Everything else around him was destroyed, crushed, and a reminder of how much of a screw-up he was when it came to understanding the female species? So why, of all goddamn things, was Kavi Salvador unable to take his eyes away from that forehead bloodprint?

“It’s just a fucking wall!”

In a fit of rage that truly would make his girlfriend -- ex-girlfriend -- proud, Kavi balled up both of his hands and two swift punches, as hard as he possibly could, he made sure he wouldn’t have to look at that wall ever again. The left fist had punched a hole into it but had not made the bloodprint disappear completed, so the right fist punched in the same place. He did this three more times and at the same spot. When he finally felt satisfied, he was left with a hole in the wall that revealed the other end.

After a quick trip to the bathroom down the hall and a change of outfits, Kavi had changed into a different construction outfit that was basically the same as the one he had on before, but it was one, not covered in his blood and two, not wet. He knew it wasn’t perfect but he didn’t care. The only thing that he wanted to do was continue on with the party and get as shitfaced drunk as quickly as he could. Forgetting about everything that happened he was mid-kiss with April was his main objective. So he would start by making his way over to the beverages table that was inside the house. And so he started to pour himself a drink, downing about half of it.

“Maaaate! That’s either a totally lit costume or you need, like, to get that looked at.”

The voice of Palm Beach’s resident Brit slurred from his right, though Kavi wasn’t sure whether to laugh or to tune it out, given the current state of things. Between the splitting headache, his sore knuckles, and the general mood he was in, Kavi wasn’t really in the right mindset beyond “drink to forget” and “worry about it later”.

“The costume is bought; bruised knuckles and gash on the forehead are my own personal touches.” He hadn’t turned to face whoever it was that did call out to him, but as soon as Kavi did, he opened his eyes a little wider. “Mac? Is that you?”

“Well, I’m not your fairy godmother.” The British girl quipped as she took another drink from the bottle of Patrón that she was holding between her fingers.

Mac appeared to have returned to Palm Beach just in time for everything at the party to get a little… crazy.

Dressed in a full she-devil get-up, it seemed that Mac was fully prepared upon her return to Palm Springs, though Kavi wondered how long she had been back. She had missed Homecoming and nearly two months of the new school year, so he nearly thought her dad had quietly transferred her to some boarding school in California. As one of the few actual female friends Kavi had, her absence at King’s hadn’t gone unnoticed. He was someone who didn’t have a lot of female friends. He’d date them and that’s it, but after his quick thing with Mac, the chemistry between them was too high to leave it at just the date, so they became quick friends. Nobody out of his ex-flings could ever understand the burdens of being beautiful than Mackenzie Davenport did.

“What a relief it is to see you haven’t lost your sense of humor since I last saw ya,” Kavi said, taking a sip from his drink. The alcohol was doing its job numbing the pain he felt but it wasn’t working nearly as quickly as he would prefer.

“Wouldn’t be me if I did, yeah?” Mac looked closer at Kavi, noticing the gash on his forehead a bit better after Kavi mentioned that he had done them himself. “So, do you need to run to the hospital? I can call an Uber if you need one.”

”What? You crazy or something?” A laugh came after as he realized he said that word again. He laughed as he finished the rest of the alcohol in his cup. “Oops, I said that word again.”

Mac laughed in response, “If I was crazy I’d be driving, what are you on about? You said what word again?”

He wasted no time refilling his cup, though midway through it, he found himself hunched over a couple of inches as he bumped into the table. This caused his cup to fall into the punch bowl. “Well, that’s just great, isn’t it?” He looked up at Mac. “Crazy. The word was crazy. It seems to be my favorite word tonight.”

“Okay? What does that even mean?”

”What it means, Mac,” He said turning to face her, using the table to hold his body up. “I got dumped because I called my ex crazy one too many times for her liking.”

Mac raised a brow, “Your ex?”

“Yes, my ex. Ex-girlfriend. Person I was in a committed relationship with up until thirty minutes ago.” Each word came a sloppy arm gesture.

“Are you taking the piss?” She set her bottle down on the table next to her. “Because, last time I checked you didn’t do ‘committed relationships’.”

She has a point.

Kavi Salvador didn’t commit to anything but who the next great time was going to be. Whether that was the head cheerleader or someone else from the squad, there wasn’t any sort of intentions of ever seeing them for a second date unless the first one went horrible and she really wanted a do-over. If Kavi was going down that route, they would need to be insanely hot or offer him something that he couldn’t get during the first round. The more he thought about it, the more it made his head hurt.

“Yeah, well I guess I had a temporary change of heart.” He chuckled, then chucked up a small amount of puke. “But don’t worry, I won’t ever make that mistake ever again.”

“Well, before you paint all of the punch green, let’s get you some air. Don’t want people to tweet and everything. Also, I like the punch not to taste, you know, bad. Maybe, we should do something about your face, too.”

Mac seemed to keep her attention on Kavi, while also scanning the table for items. Whatever her intention was, he wasn’t really paying enough attention to care or notice.

Begrudgingly, Kavi followed Mac away from the table, away from the house, and outside. They walked at a somewhat slow pace to match Kavi’s sluggish body. His feet had dragged a bit but that was only due to the headache starting to be the main issue instead of how much alcohol he could consume to numb it out. Kavi hadn’t bothered to wait for Mac to help him down as he collapsed on the green grass. It sent chills down his spine as he had looked up at the stars.

“This was a good idea, Mac.”

“Well, any idea is better than smashing your face because some girl… got too sensitive? Needy?” The girl uttered as she tossed a bottle of Vodka and a tablecloth she had grabbed on the way out of the party on the ground. She was trying to hide it, but there was some semblance of concern. Kavi may have been drunk and not thinking clearly, but he could tell that much.

“You might be right about that. I tried to change for her, be someone she could love or be safe with. I don’t know.” Kavi rocked himself to a somewhat upright position, feeling the weight of something begging to come back up for round two. “Have you ever gone down that road of trying to change for anyone?”

“Fuck no!” Mac responded with laughter.

”Smart girl.” He responded to her laughter with his own. “I wish you were around to talk me out of my own mistake like a month ago. Probably could have saved my hands from getting wrecked.”

“Well, I’m sorry I was trapped in California with my cunt of a dad.”

They continued their conversation. Mac popped the cap off the vodka and poured a little of it on the tablecloth, groaning in displeasure that she not only had to waste vodka like this but that she wasn’t getting to enjoy the party. As she moved the tablecloth like an impromptu cloth across Kavi’s forehead she used her other hand to brace his head so he wouldn’t move. When Kavi realized this is what Mac meant about doing something about his face, he knew it was going to suck. But really, it was his own fault in the first place.

“Jesus Mac!” Kavi screeched for a brief moment.

“There is no god. Only vodka.” She quipped, continuing to clean the wound.

“Can you not pour so much of it? It’s a small gash, not a severe wound.” He whined. Ironically, for a martial artist, Kavi did not do physical pain well.

“I am admittedly, very not sober, but I can’t have you bleeding and spewing into drinks. Think of the children. Imagine if Stella took a sip of that punch! Instant party killer.”

“Are you sure it’ll be that and not the Maury-styled ‘you are the father’ announcement April made not too long ago?”

“True. But you never did host the best parties.” She commented, before she finished cleaning up the gash, before tearing the cloth and tying it firmly around Kavi’s forehead. “Well, that’s the best I can do. I think I did it right.”

“I don’t see any blood dripping down, so you must’ve done something right.” Kavi felt around his forehead. When he pressed against the cloth, though soft, a stinging sensation went through him.

“Lucky you.”

He shrugged. “Now that you’ve done your duty, I suppose now you want to get back to the party, huh?”

“Why? You don’t want to?”

“I don’t know, Mac. When you get dumped, it kind of ruins the party within, ya know?”

The British girl rolled her eyes. “What, you want to trade the real party for a pity party? Mate, it’s one girl.”

“I know it’s hard for you to imagine, but I actually fell pretty hard for her, Mac.” Kavi admitted, swiping the Vodka bottle and taking a hefty swig of it.

“And why would you go and do that for someone who is just going to be passive aggressive to you for the rest of the year because you didn’t live up to her idea of you?” Mac sighed, crossing her arms as he began downing a good portion of the vodka. “Why would you do that to yourself? You know who you are.”

While he sat there really thinking about it, Kavi couldn’t stop himself from thinking about Ariel and how after everything went downhill because of his stupidity, he was here and she probably wasn’t. If she was, there was a good chance she was far away from him. Maybe Ariel wasn’t worth it after all. He had thought about canceling the party and chasing after her and maybe fixing things, but what would that do? She made up her mind about him the minute she tried to kill him with his own gaming console. She was done with him so now, perhaps, it was Kavi’s turn to be done with her.

He took another drink from the bottle. “Yeah, you’re right, Mac. If Ariel Grey doesn’t want me, then I’ll just be who she already thinks I am.”

An @Altered Tundra & @HaleyTheRandom Collaboration featuring Stella Lambert & Oliver Grayson

“A lot has happened.”

Stella only spoke a number of times since Georgie and Mac had left her with Oliver. The two had stayed together, talked a few times, but for the most part, both of them have been silent. The only times that either of them said a single word was when either Stella or Oliver would say something and they’d respond shortly, but then it was back to the awkward silence. She didn’t have any answer as to why she couldn’t just talk to him. It should have been easy. She had always been able to talk to Oliver. That’s what was so amazing about their friendship. Because they were always so open and honest, she felt like there wasn’t anything she couldn’t say to him. But now…

“Now I don’t know…” She spoke softly, watching scene after scene unfolding before their very eyes. From Kavi and April being near the DJ booth and watching April Foster announce to the world she was pregnant to Kavi asking Ariel to meet him by the hot tub. “Let’s go there.”

Stella pulled on Oliver’s hand, almost dragging him as they joined the crowd of people. The two talked and then they went silent. Kavi looked sad for some reason and then Ariel suddenly pushed him into the hot tub. Stella was so out of the loop that she wasn’t sure what prompted that. Then, as Ariel brushed past them, she and Kavi had a short conversation and they left for inside the house. Throughout the next five or so minutes, she ran the possibilities of everything through her mind only to ponder about something.

“I really do hope they don’t break up, Oli,” Stella said around him, looking down at the ground. “I mean, Kavi has been really happy. I know a lot of people give him a lot of grief for being a player. I know it’s well-deserved, but lately..” Her head raised up, smiling at Oliver, “he’s been acting like how Kavi before the chip on his shoulder became an entire potato, ya know?”

She felt like she was rambling, but truth be told, if Kavi and Ariel stood a chance, maybe there was something to be said for her. She had no clue how to bring it up to him, but god, if she couldn’t at least talk to Oliver about her feelings, then why was she even here?

“Oliver…” Her voice was again low. “Can we talk? I mean, go someplace quiet and talk?” She asked him, her hand squeezing his as if to siphon the excess emotions coursing through her body right now. Her heart was beating incredibly fast and she had no way of stopping it.

It seemed like every time Stella and Oliver got together, someone said something that left Oliver in a state of silent thinking. Were they together? Were they not together? Was he supposed to just assume what Stella felt and make the decisions for both of them? No. That seemed like a dick move, and while Oliver had the tendency to be a bit of an ass at times, he wasn’t a dick. Just like any other time, he followed Stella around like a lost puppy - this time outside to the hot tub area.

Just like so many others, he watched the brief squabble between Ariel and Kavi. While Oliver didn’t wish for anyone's relationship to end, it seemed like all Ariel and Kavi could ever do was argue - at least at social events. He had been thinking of something to say when Stella's last sentence finally brought him back down to earth. ”I uh…. I don’t have any idea of any quiet place here… I… maybe upstairs?”

“Yeah, that works.” She responded immediately. “I don’t think it’s a good idea to go through the back patio. Too many people are there,” Stella remarked, “but don’t worry, I’ve been here a lot of times. There’s a staircase through the side entrance of the house that leads upstairs.”

Stella took the lead as she pulled Oliver’s hand, guiding him past the crowds of people who were still talking about April’s announcement and something about Kavi kissing April. It came as a shock to be sure but Stella wasn’t surprised. She was only disappointed in him for potentially ruining a good thing with Ariel. In the time she would spend thinking about Kavi, her and Oliver had sped past the garage, popped back into the house where the staircase was only around the corner.

“It should be here--”

As Stella was about to turn around towards the staircase, she felt a brief gust of air hit against her face softly as a mixture of obscenities, Kavi’s name, and remnants of crying sounds faded with the sound of the music playing. Stella was worried and confused. She only caught a brief glimpse of red hair.

“I think that was Ariel…” She muttered to herself, shaking her head. “Anyway, let’s find a room, I guess,” Stella said, going up the stairs with Oliver.

Following her once more, Oliver turned to see the red-haired figure himself. ”Yeah… I’m pretty sure it was. I really hope they didn’t end up having to big of a fight or anything…”

Soon the two found a free room, but Stella didn’t realize which room it was. “Okay, so of all rooms, I pick Kavi’s parents’ room. Cool!” And cool it was. And big. Holy cow was it a spacious room!

Stepping inside of Mr. and Mrs. Salvadors room, Oliver felt like he was committing a crime. You always heard of kids sneaking into the host of the parties parents bedroom, but Oliver had never had it happen to him. At least not until now. ”I never realized someone could ever need this much room to sleep,” he commented.

“This is nothing,” she laughed, “my room is almost as big as this one is.” Suddenly Stella felt like she just exposed herself to open criticism.

”Hm. Guess I just never gave that much thought to it. I mean, I think everyone has pretty nice sized houses here. Guess I’m just a simple guy. I’ve never really had to have that much room.” Not quite comfortable enough to touch anything in the room, he just stood there sort of awkwardly. ”So what was it you wanted to talk about?”

As she sat on the cushioned platform in front of the bed, Stella just thought about how she wanted to phrase this. Lord knew that she wasn’t a religious person but if there was ever a time she needed the Lord’s strength, right now was that time. She knew she wanted to get it all out there and tell him where her mind was at (or would it be her heart?), but there was that gut-wrenching wall of actually making the decision. And it also had to do with how this was the only thing she couldn’t outright tell him. Her discomfort was obvious in how Stella’s lips puckered and wiggled. She’s been told it was a tell of hers when she was stressed about something.

Her lips opened, but no more than a single sound came out. She gave it another try and still, there was nothing. “Screw it!” That time she spoke and this time it was loud. “Oliver, I..I mean,” she looked up at him. “Can you come sit with me please?” She pleaded with him, a longing gaze lingering at him that was almost desperate on her part.

Whatever she wanted to talk about was obviously bothering her, and the look on her face made him wish he had gotten something strong to drink when he had the chance. Without a word, he walked over and sat down beside her, hands in his lap. ”I - If I did anything wrong or something, I’m sorry,” he blurted out.

Stella shook her head. “No, it wasn’t you. I mean, not really.” When she spoke, she immediately heard herself and looked at him. “No I mean, you didn’t do anything! I just..” She huffed inwardly, taking in deep, albeit short, breaths. “I’m sorry, Oliver. I just can’t seem to say what I want to say.”

Now was one of those awkward moments where Oliver was really starting to think that he had done something wrong - even though Stella had told him otherwise. ”Well regardless of whatever it is, I’d be more than happy to sit here with you until you got the courage to say whatever it is.”

That’s it. If I had, we wouldn’t be here suffering.

That’s what Stella wanted to say and more. So instead the brunette closed her eyes, took in a deep breath, and muttered something to herself. It was only a short moment, but when she finally calmed her center, she turned to face Oliver, eyes and attention on him. Her heart was beating too fast for her comfort, so she took hold of Oliver’s hands. When she felt it became too much, she squeezed them but Stella wasn’t going to back down. Too far now and she needed to get it own.

“Oliver..” She said slowly, the air around her starting to get thick. “We’ve known each other for a while. I mean, we have been going to the same school since third grade. I remember when you were the new student and you stood out like a sore thumb but you never let that stop you from shining on,” Stella laughed with a smile, picturing how adorkable Oliver was with his bowtie back then. “I remember how the kids at school teased you and even though I didn’t stop them, there was always someone nearby who did.”

”Well, I mean, I don’t blame you for that or whatever. Come to think of it, I kinda always admired you. You were always like this ray of freaking sunshine walking around with bows in your hair and crap,” he said smiling. ”But what does any of that have to do with this?”

Right, the point. Stella had a tendency to not get to it. “I just mean we have been near each other for so long and only in the past two months have we gotten to know each other. Like, you know that my favorite colors are lavender and bubblegum pink and that I don’t like jalapenos on my nachos. You know I’m deathly afraid of spiders.” She said, unconsciously moving closer to Oliver. “All of these little things you know about me and you’ve never judged me. Everyone else has cause they’re pretty dumb, but you haven’t.” She was doing it again, so she shook her head. “What this has to do with everything — at least, what I’m trying to say and failing at — is that you’ve been around all this time and it took to our senior year for me to realize just how much I like you, Oliver.”

People that judged you because of your favorite colors, fears and nacho preferences were stupid - and that was something Oliver firmly believed. ”So like…” he took a deep breath, licking his lips. ”Are you saying that you like… like me, or that you like… like like me?”

Part of her wanted to laugh but she was so high on nerves right now, the only thing Stella could do was look at him with a smile. Truth be told, she wasn’t exactly sure what the proper answer to his question was. She knew it was more than simply liking him as a person. She liked Sonny. She liked Kavi. She liked all of her friends. And yes, she liked Oliver, but he was different. The way he speaks so passionately when he’d say basically anything to her whether it was about how much he loves pickles and how not having them on a cheeseburger was a crime always makes her smile, or when he tells her about all the dog breeds he wants to own in his lifetime (cats too) and how they both agree pits are unjustifiably hated.

Everything she and Oliver might talk about just has this effect on her. She might not understand most of it cause they still have different interests, but Stella does like Oliver the person. She loves how he gets whenever there are raw pickles for sale in the cafeteria. She loves their back and forths when they list all the things wrong with President Trump and how Bernie Sanders is the man. There is never a minute that she isn’t smiling when she’s with him. Even for someone who quite frequently misses certain cues people make, she never has missed one when she’s been with Oliver.

“I...think it might be the second one.” She spoke, her face as red as fast her heart had been beating this entire time.

”Thank. Fucking. God.” he said, a smile breaking across his face as he laughed light-heartedly. ”I’m sorry that I made things so awkward for you and like between us and everything but I’m not good with these things at all and I really, really like you. I just didn’t want to make things super awkward for us if you didn’t like me back and I just….” he took a deep breath. ”Yeah.”

He couldn’t help it. Oliver just kept smiling like a complete idiot for a few brief moments before he decided to talk again. ”So does this mean I get to, like, hold your hand in public now?”

Collab by myself, @eclecticwitch, @ineffable, and @ejected
Starring Bea, Carter, Gavin, Georgie and Sawyer.

Sawyer walked away from Georgie in a sort of hurried shuffle, only making it a few paces before he stopped in his tracks to make an awkward failed attempt to pull his backpack from off his shoulders. He needed his phone to call Gavin. There was no way he was going to be able to drive home like this. Why hadn’t he just waited and ridden with his brother in the first place? Whatever.

The boy growled a curse at the ground as he finally slipped off one strap, unzipping the bag before digging through it to retrieve his cellular device. He pressed his thumb into the power button, lighting up his face, causing him to pull the phone back several inches as he squinted at the screen. Quickly, he found Gavin’s name and hit send, pressing his phone up to his ear as he slowly started to scan the crowd, trying to focus on standing in one place.

There were a few rings before Sawyer felt a hand on his arm, pulling him back nearly causing him to stumble and fall back onto his ass. He lazily recovered himself and stood up, holding onto Georgie for support as much as he was trying to support her in the process, his head and shoulder scrunched up to hold his phone to his ear.

”Georgie,” the boy let out a heavy sigh, shaking his head as he opened his mouth to say something before he heard his brother answer on the other end of the line. ”Gavin, we need t--” and that’s when it hit him. Literally.

The boy paused a moment, practically frozen in place. He didn’t know whether he wanted to be mad, walk away, ask if she was okay, or throw up, himself. Sawyer forcibly swallowed, taking a deep breath before looking up at Georgie with a conflicted expression on his face. ”Come find me, please,” he spoke into the phone before grabbing it from his shoulder to end the call and stuffed the phone into the side of his costume.

He blinked solemnly a few times before saying in a soft, concerned tone, ”We should get you t-” It was then that Bea came up with Carter following close behind. Bea took the lead and offered Georgie some help which had Sawyer a bit relieved he wouldn’t have to deal with this alone. It’d been a while since he’d seen Bea, it was nice to see a familiar, friendly face in this dark hour.

Georgie reeled back from Sawyer and clutched herself in horror. Holy shit. She’d just puked on him and while she was still feeling awful, it was all heightened with the guilt. She didn’t want to say it but it looked like she’d created a pretty horrible mess and he was still concerned about her? She looked up as Bea came to support her and shook her head at the concern. ”Thanks Bea but-” Georgie waved a hand in Sawyer’s general direction, too ashamed to even say his name.

Trying to make light of the situation as well as attempting to take his mind off of the puke all over him, Sawyer playfully chided his friend. ”You know, I’m the one who got thrown up on, right?”

Although Carter didn't hesitate to follow behind Bea towards the scene of the crime, the young man suddenly found himself wondering if his presence was even needed at that particular moment. Sure, he'd given Georgie a ride to the party, but they had yet to develop the sort of close relationship that she'd obviously already had with Bea and... Sawyer. God, was that smell awful; Carter couldn't help but hold his breath as he stood near the boy whose chest was now freshly painted with Georgie's vomit. It was almost enough to make him gag a bit himself. Nevertheless, he stood by just in case his assistance was needed; he'd even grabbed her a bottle of water on the way over and offered it to her as Bea tried her best to assist. "Happens to the best of us," Carter said with a reassuring half-smile as he did so.

Bea languidly moved her gaze from Georgie to Sawyer. Her eyes travelled down, up, and then back down his frame. Her cool, even stare was nearly clinical as it assessed the young man. "Yes, you did," she responded in a blithe manner. "Let's step outside. Fresh air and a hose do wonders." Her voice offered a calm foundation for the drunken pair to stand upon. "Come along." She gestured for Carter to help steady Georgie while she pushed Sawyer toward the backyard.

Sawyer simply raised an eyebrow at Bea’s look, pressing his lips into a fine line at her tone. ’Alright then,’ he thought to himself flatly. It was just then that he felt a hand on his bare shoulder, turning to see his brother’s face beaming at him. The smaller boy glared at his sibling. ”What?”

Gavin chuckled softly and shook his head. ”Nothing, bruv. I wasn’t observing you guys from just over there the entire time, or anything,” he laughed, squeezing Sawyer’s shoulder as he helped Bea lead the two out towards the backyard. Gavin looked over at Georgie with a soft smile and reached a hand out, tenderly rubbing her arm. ”Hey Geeg, after we get all cleaned up, think you’d like a ride home, or.. Did you get a ride?”

Georgie grabbed onto Carter quite unceremoniously as they walked outside towards the water hose. She could smell the stink of her own puke and wrinkled her nose, glancing over towards Sawyer. ”Sawyer, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean it. I’ll-We’ll clean you up.” She was glad that she had such good friends who took care of her all the time but she didn’t feel particularly nice to think that Sawyer was still covered in her vomit from basically head to toe. She turned to Gavin as he spoke and nodded.

”I’d love to get a ride home from you...Hopefully I won’t stain the car or anything of the sort or else I can Uber from here...” She trailed off as she reached for the hose and turned it on, holding it up so it splashed Sawyer. However, soon enough due to her inebriated state she stumbled and dropped the hose, watching horrifically as it snaked water everywhere.

In quick motions, Carter used the heel of his boot to stop the hose from snaking around in the grass; he then picked it up and offered Georgia a meek grin before continuing what she'd originally set out to do. "It's fine, I got it. Don't worry about it," he said, figuring that it'd be wise to let someone who wasn't totally drunk handle the hose.

Bea took the chance to light herself a cigarette. She blew smoke away from the small group and approached Carter. "Allow me." She retrieved the hose from him before turning it on Sawyer first. It didn't have one of those fancy nozzle things on it so she used her thumb to direct the spray. From top to bottom she was sure to thoroughly wet the young man. Georgia was next. She didn't soak the girl as much but did give her a good spritzing.

Gavin nodded at Georgie’s reply to accepting the ride, giving his brother’s shoulder a firm squeeze before letting him go as they reached their destination. The boy would have taken up cleaning off Sawyer but it seemed Georgie had it in mind to make it up to him by trying to ‘help’. When the hose fell and began snaking everywhere, he stepped back out of the way knowing one of the other two would get it. He may not have spent much time on his makeup for his ‘stume, but he was kind of anal about keeping it looking nice. Gavin simply looked on as Carter recovered the hose, with Bea taking charge. Cigarettes. His distaste for the scent pushed him even further away, smirking as Bea started spraying Sawyer off.

Sawyer half-smiled at Georgie’s attempt to help, not really minding when he got sprayed by the hose after it dropped. The sound of a lighter caught in the boy’s ears, his eyes quickly latching onto the cigarette in Bea’s hand being lit. He grit his teeth so hard, then, they started to ache. It had been quite a long time since he’d had a hit off of one. The smell was bittersweet. Bitter because of the withdrawls, but sweet because.. Well, it was definitely better than the upchuck smell. Sorry, Georgie.

Sawyer hadn’t realized he was focusing so hard on Bea’s light until he felt the cold water hit him. The stream was much harder this time, and Bea didn’t seem to care that his backpack was getting soaked along with him. He lazily took it off and tossed it at his brother, which fell short and landed just at his feet. The boy grumbled something to himself under his breath, giving Bea a look once she was done hosing him down. ”Thanks.”

“Any time,” Bea responded with a breath of smoke. A rare grin appeared on her freckled face.

Sawyer shuffled over to his bag and snatched it up, wandering off behind a bush as he attempted to unzip his backpack to snag out the costume he had hidden away in it. ”Um, where are you going?” Gavin asked, raising an eyebrow at his brother. Sawyer chuckled to himself, making sure he couldn’t be seen by anyone in the yard and quickly pushed the sopping wet costume bottoms down to the floor, reaching around the bush to slingshot the bottoms out at the group with a drunken howl of laughter. Somehow, he then managed to pull on his fresh pair of boxer briefs and back-up costume from the year before, leaving the hood off as he came out from behind the bushes with a grin-smirk plastered on his face.

Georgie mentally face palmed herself as she watched the rest of them clean up for her. She gave a lazy smile to both Bea and Carter before she turned slightly, basking in the spray of water from the hose. It was cold and nice and pulled her relatively outside of her own drunken thoughts for a second. With that going on it meant that she had a small moment of clarity, a coincidence as she watched Sawyer’s gaze catch onto the cigarette in Bea’s fingers. Even in her drunken state she had some distaste staining her mind. She should just let it go, she knew that but after all that had happened...God she had to stop. Georgie looked around her as Sawyer made his way to the bushes, probably to change his outfit before she gave a wide smile to Carter, Bea and Gavin.

”Thanks for helping me out here, guys. You guys are the absolute best. And thank you Carter for helping me to deal...I’m sure Bea and Gavin know my antics well enough to not be disgusted by me but well…” She gestured towards her wet self and wrinkled her nose. ”I’m a mess!” She giggled before letting out a loud whoop of laughter as a pair of flying briefs sailed through the air and Sawyer’s delighted exclamation followed it.

"It's no big deal," Carter said with a chuckle as he took a glance down at Sawyer's costume bottoms that had just landed at his feet. "We all have our own messes."

Bea went about turning off the hose and putting it away. As she was coming back toward the group a pair of Star Wars themed shorty shorts landed at her feet. She blinked down at them before she picked them up between her forefinger and thumb. Her eyes landed on Sawyer as he came out from behind the bushes. “I think you dropped something,” she said in deadpan. Her eyes then slid to Georgie. “We gals gotta stick together. Take care of each other.” She tossed the wet shorts at her.

Georgie squealed in surprise, grabbing onto the sopping shorts before she let out a loud ”URGH!” and throwing it quite frantically into the air, ran to give Bea a push and a snub to the nose. ”Girls gotta stick together my ass, Beeeeeaaaa!”

Bea blinked in surprise at the contact and then smiled as she wrapped an arm about Georgia’s waist. “I believe I deserve a little more kindness than that,” she teased lightly, before pulling her into a light hug - careful not to burn her with the cigarette.

Gavin nodded at Georgie and smiled at her words, watching as his brother stepped out from behind the brush with his Spiderman costume on. Sawyer rolled his eyes at Bea’s ‘you dropped something’ and stepped forward to take his shorts from Bea before she slung them at Georgie, his face turning a bit shaded at the action as he tried to hold back a laugh. Gavin watched the shorts sail into the air like a pop-fly as Georgie threw them away from her, following them till they landed directly in his open hand.

Sawyer stepped up to his brother, snagging the shorts from his hand and the backpack at his feet before walking off towards the back door to head for the front. Gavin watched as his brother just wandered off without a word, raising an eyebrow a moment before clearing his throat as he turned to face the girls in their embrace. ”Well, I hate to break up the band, but I think Peter Parker is ready to go home.” He smiled softly at Georgie, holding out an elbow for her to grab and lean on while they walked. ”Madam, if you wouldn’t mind.”

Georgie turned to the rest of the group, giggling a bit as she held up one hand for a wave and locked her other arm on Gavin’s. ”Thanks for helping me out tonight...Bea, Carter I both owe you a big one. You know my number.” She winked at them before turning to give Gavin a kiss on the cheek, whispering happily in his ear.

”And as for you...An early thank you for helping to drive me home. If I puke on the car...it’s no longer my fault for being allowed there in the first place.” And with that she started dragging him off of the lawn, throwing frantic air kisses in Bea and Carter’s direction.

Bye bye, vomit cleaning crew.

An @ineffable and @Moro collab!

Sawyer stopped to turn and look, making sure he was being followed. Gavin noticed the look his brother was giving him, raising an eyebrow at him before answering their friend. “Well it’s no big deal. You know I’ve always got your back, girl,” he squeezed her arm and gave her a smile. Sawyer huffed softly to himself as he rolled his eyes and stepped up to the pair, stopping them in their tracks before starting to take off Gavin’s Hogwarts robe. Gavin started to complain before he figured out what his twin was doing, letting him take the robe without further complaints.

With their arms no longer locked, Sawyer draped Gavin’s robe over Georgie’s shoulders without looking directly at her, keeping his eyes on their feet as he tied the sinches around her neck loosely so the robe wouldn’t fall. Once it was done, Sawyer squeezed around the two and pulled on his mask, walking ahead of them through the crowded house and out the front door. Gavin rolled his eyes and chuckled to himself as he linked their arms again, muttering, “Poor boy. It’ll take him a moment before he realizes he has no idea where I parked.” Gavin continued his walk, guiding the girl with him through the maze of party-goers.

Georgie blushed as she watched Sawyer tie the robe around her. He was so kind and so gracious. Why had she even been stupid enough to leave him for a moment? Her neck heated up before she started to talk to Gavin.
”How’ve you been? How...How has Sawyer been?” The night seemed quiet to her ears and her voice as well as her question seemed unnaturally loud in the cold and clear air. She breathed in deep and wrinkled her nose at the smell before she squeezed Gavin’s arm tightly.

Gavin patted her arm linked with his own, rubbing it soothingly. “I’ve been well, dear. It’s never me I’m worried about, though.”

The boy sighed heavily as he walked through the threshold and stepped out into the night air again, beginning to walk across the lawn down the street some paces behind his brother who seemed to be having trouble walking in a straight line. “As for him, however…” he had to choose his next words carefully. Georgie seemed to hang on every word spoken of his brother, especially about his well-being, he knew as much. He pat her arm again before slowly continuing, “He’s doing okay. He’s pretty good at keeping himself on the straight and narrow, but when he struggles, well,” Gavin smiles and looks down at her, “You know him. He locks himself in the garage when he’s going through a bad stint and doesn’t come out till he feels somewhat normal again.”

Georgie sighed, poor Sawyer. She wished she could be with him whenever he was struggling. She wished she could spend time with him in the garage, calming him down and telling him that everything would be okay... but that would never happen. Well, not so soon anyway. Georgie shook her head in frustration as she looked up at a drunken Sawyer.
”He doesn’t know where he’s going, doesn’t he?” She asked Gavin, and not waiting for an answer she skipped (albeit quite shakily) ahead to where Sawyer was. Oh so carefully she locked her arm around him instead, relishing the feel of his skin against hers and trying not to sigh as waves of nostalgia crashed into her mind. And even though she was still drunk and couldn’t walk in a straight line herself she tried to help them both out as she leaned against him slightly, expecting him to do the same.
”Sawyer? I think maybe we should follow Gavin to the car...I’m sure he knows the way better than we do.” She stated softly.

Gavin smirked as Georgie let him go and wandered up to be with Sawyer, watching the not-couple couple walk together. Sawyer nearly jumped, looking over at Georgie as he felt his arm get snatched up and linked with her own. He couldn’t help but let a huge smile spread across his face, thankful for his mask over his face as he gently rubbed his hand over her linked arm. The boy couldn’t help but laugh as they nearly stumbled off to the side with her putting some weight on him, leaning back against her to balance themselves out to walk straight .

“Georgie?” he said in a playfully mimicking and teasing tone, resting his head tenderly on top of hers as they continued to waltz down the sidewalk, mumbling the next bit under his breath. “Yeah, I know. He slowly had them come to a stop as he turned to look back at his brother. “Care to take up the lead, brother?” Gavin chewed on his inner cheek, trying to hold back certain comments, horribly failing at attempting to hide the smirk on his face. He picked up his pace and walked around the two, giving Sawyer a look before putting a few paces between himself and the pair before taking up a more leisurely pace to allow the drunken not-couple couple to keep up.

”It’s been such a long time since I’ve talked to you, Sawyer. I’ve...I’ve missed you.” Her cheeks colored instantly as she said the words and she drew up Gavin’s cloak about her a bit more.
”How have you been?”

Sawyer smiled, his hand running over hers before realizing what he was doing and pulled away nervously, rubbing his hand across her forearm as he spoke. “I-I’ve been…” the boy grit his teeth, finding it a bit difficult to find the words. He was never good at expressing his emotions. “I’ve just been trying to keep myself busy, you know? Things have been… difficult.” Sawyer sighed heavily, squeezing her arm gently as he whispered somewhat brokenly, ‘Difficult’ would be putting it lightly, honestly.”

Georgie jumped slightly at his touch before she took in what he said, squeezing his arm comfortingly.
”I just wanted to say...I just…I’m sorry...for everything. I think I should’ve stuck with you back then and I’m really really sorry I wasn’t there. I just couldn’t take it you know? I tried, I tried, I really did. And I’m sorry I wasn’t there for you. I didn’t try harder.” Georgie sighed at her words, knowing how maybe false this all sounded. She hadn’t known that he would ever get better. She didn’t think that he would. And she was guilty for all of the thoughts that had consumed her before. Georgie wasn’t a good friend. She knew that.

Sawyer’s pace slowed as her apology kept going, and going, and going. The boy stopped her and stepped in front of her, lifting her head by her chin with his finger tenderly. “Hey, hey hey hey! Georgie, don’t. Please. he then pulled his mask off, looking her in the eyes. “I left. You understand that? I left you. You don’t get to do that to yourself.” His hand dropped to his side, a slight frown cast across his face.

“I know you couldn’t take it. I know that.” Sawyer gently wrapped his arms around the girl, hugging her tightly as he whispered in her ear, “I don’t blame you. Please don’t blame yourself. No matter what happens after tonight, you can’t allow the blame to fall on you. It was me. It was all me.”

Georgie practically melted into his hug. She’d missed it. Damn it. She’s missed so many opportunities to be with him again but she was so selfish. So into herself and so confident in how she won’t be able to be friends with him if he took drugs. Facing the problem again right now, she still wasn’t sure that she wouldn’t make the same mistake again. Georgie had a lot of faith in her relationships and she understood that sometimes they couldn’t be perfect but...with Sawyer she really thought she had the chance.

”I should’ve stuck around though. That much I know. And I’ll try to be better, I promise that to you, Sawy. It's just a bit hard, sometimes. And I want you to know that I’m not entirely okay with everything.” She stopped here to take a breath. Man was her apology long and rambly as fuck. ”But I’m working on it.”

By the time her ramble had come to a close, he slowly pulled himself away, taking up her arm again to keep themselves moving. They’d fallen significantly behind Gavin, looking back and forth down the road before turning her to cross it with her. Sawyer sighed softly, "You're not the one who has to be better. I'm the recovering addict, here."

The boy had meant it as somewhat of a joke, but it didn't seem to take very well with Georgie. They walked in silence for a few moments before she spoke up again. She seemed to want to change the subject A.S.A.P.

”Enough of my worthless apologies, though. Please tell me how you’ve been doing.”

He chuckled to himself, raising an eyebrow. “Uhm, Georgie…” the laughter was hard to contain, chuckling a little more before continuing. “You already asked me that, luv.” The boy’s smile faded slightly, looking ahead of them as they continued walking. He could see Gavin unlocking the doors ahead of them, standing at the side of the passenger door. Probably waiting for Georgie to catch up to help her up into the truck. “Your apologies aren’t worthless,” he mumbled to her as he pressed his forehead against the top of her head in a sort of endearing gesture before letting her go so she could get up into the truck.

Georgie giggled when she realized just how drunk she was before she climbed up onto the truck.
”Thanks Gavin.” She smiled at him, hoping he knew that she was also thanking him for letting Sawyer and her have some time to each other. She’d been wanting to clear up things for so long and now he’d given her the chance to.

Gavin helped the girl up into her seat, winking at her as he shut the door before turning to his brother. “Don’t tell me you need help too, bruv.” Sawyer shook his head and rolled his eyes as he pulled the door open. “No, I don’t. Bruv.” Sawyer gave his brother a knowing look, to which Gavin provided an equally knowing and mocking grin back at his brother. Once he was in his seat with his belt on, Gavin closed the door and came around the back to hop up into the driver’s side, bringing the car to life. “Alright kiddies, hold onto your butts.” Gavin chuckled at the Jurassic Park reference, pulling out onto the street as they headed home. Sawyer leaned forward, resting his head on the back of Georgie’s seat with a heavy sigh. In all honesty, he did not feel good.

Georgie turned around once she felt the weight on her seat and almost knocked her head onto Sawyer’s forehead.
”Sawyer? Are you alright?” She cast a concerned look to Gavin, who she hoped would have the answer to her question. Was he just drunk, or was something else afoot?

Saywer swallowed hard, suddenly starting to salivate profusely. “Y-yeah, I’m… I’m fine, Georgie.” Gavin could hear the underlying lie in his tone, moving the rearview mirror so he could better see his brother without having to turn around. “Bruv.” Sawyer picked up his head and gave Gavin the same grin he’d been given before getting into the truck. “I’m good. Just--” Sawyer forced himself to swallow again, “--just drive, Gav.” Gavin pressed his lips into a thin line, sighing heavily before he gave Georgie a look that said ‘hold on’ as he stepped on the gas a little more.

As they took a turn, Sawyer groaned softly into the back of the seat. “Guess I really should have cut myself off after beer pong with Yess and the boys.”

Georgie had heard of the drama inducing beer pong...and the following fight. But even though the punches that had been thrown had taken up a considerable part of her drunken thinking that night...the idea that Yessi and Sawyer were close and that he had been hanging out with her so much lately irked Georgie more.
”Hey...umm...What happened at that anyway? I think I saw you and Aiden fighting? And um...Yessi...” Georgie could barely finish her sentence so she let it trail out awkwardly, trying not to really hint at what she was thinking.

Sawyer could hear the obvious distaste in the tone of Georgie’s voice as she spoke his best friend’s name. A sudden wave of irritation washing over him, speaking his own friend’s name with a bit of venom behind his tone. “Didn’t think you’d have noticed with your beloved Max standing beside her and I at the table.” Clearly a bit irked at Georgie’s words, Sawyer took a sobering breath as he sat back in his seat and rolled down his window for some fresh air, trying to keep himself together.

Georgie literally jumped in her seat before she turned to Gavin. She was hella annoyed but she didn’t want to say much in front of Sawyer, settling instead for mouthing ’Fuck you’ in his direction. Hadn’t he known that she was making progress on Sawyer? And then he spilled about Max. Oh god. She took a deep breath and tried to sort things out in her head in order to respond. Okay, so, she did like Max but she loved Sawyer. And well, she didn’t exactly think that she and Sawyer would ever have a chance in hell in being friends again, no matter if they were, god forbid, more than that.
”He’s with…Max is back with his ex now. And I didn’t...I just thought you were with Yessi and…” God this was awkward. Her words were all jumbled up and considering she didn’t know exactly where they both stood in terms of each other...well, she liked Sawyer enough, she just wasn’t sure that he liked her the way she did him.

Gavin stiffened in his seat, his face scrunching up as he side glanced Georgie and gave her an apologetic half-smile with a mouthed apology, ‘Sorry, Geeg.’ Sawyer shook his head, knowing the gossip was probably true that Max had hooked back up with Kellie. Still. Then Yessie was brought back up again, Sawyer’s face twisted with pure confusion. “W-What?! Yess has been back for like, a couple weeks? What the hell makes you think we’re together?! I thought I wasn’t even on your radar, anymore!” The boy’s stubbornness had taken over completely, pushing out a final grumbled, “Why do you even care if she and I were together, Georgia?”

Gavin pulled the truck over to the side of the street then, coming to a semi-hard stop that sent Sawyer slamming into the back of Georgie’s seat, Gavin throwing his hand out over Georgie’s upper chest to stop her from doing the same into the dash. He threw a sharp glance back at his brother as he groaned and sat back in his seat holding his forehead as he exchanged a look with him. “Sawyer, stop..” Sawyer grit his teeth and brought both hands to the back of his head, staring up at the roof of the car with a glare that could kill. He was mad, but mostly at himself. He forced his eyes shut, taking in deep breaths to calm himself down.

“Why do I even care?” Georgie was also starting to become angry, even though she knew she definitely shouldn’t. She wasn’t even looking at Sawyer as the car came to a stop.
“You really want to ask me why? Because obviously, Sawyer... I love you! And I just want to be with you!” Georgie’s voice had started to rise and as she finally let go of what she was holding in her mind, a stray tear leaked down her face. She was fucking exhausted of all of this back and forth. She was tired of how one sided it must’ve seemed to Sawyer, how she never managed to tell him that she felt so strongly about him from the start. She needed him to know that she hurt as much as he did when they had been apart.
“There. I said it.” She shouted angrily. And now he knew.

Both the boys eyes widened, Sawyer slowly looking down to stare at the back of the headrest while Gavin let out a heavy breath and ran a hand through his hair. “Wow,” Gavin muttered under his breath, slowly stepping out of the truck to give the two some space they so clearly needed. Sawyer watched his brother go, returning his gaze back to the headrest. “You… what?”

“I...I meant what I said. I love you.” This time Georgie spoke with a resigned sigh. She tried not to look at Sawyer but she couldn’t make herself resist. Georgie cast a quick glance back to register his face before she wiped another tear from her cheek.

Sawyer noticed the tear that fell down her face before she swiped it away, quickly unbuckling his seatbelt to position himself between the seats to get a better look at her. He made her cry, and it made him feel like such a piece of shit. He gently reached over, turning her face tenderly with his hand on her cheek to make her look up at him, brushing her cheek soothingly with his thumb. "Hey, hey hey hey. Wh-why are you.." Enough questions, Sawyer, he told himself angrily. He sighed softly, looking into her eyes as he mumbled, "After all this time..." Another question. Sawyer sighed softly, cupping her face in his hands. "Georgie.."

Georgie flinched at his touch and tried not to turn away. She didn’t like for people to see her cry. But with Sawyer she knew that she could tell the truth. “Just say something....anything” she sighed and reached a hand up to cradle his.

Sawyer nearly pulled his hand away from her face until her own hand covered his own. "I..." Sawyer pressed his lips into a thin line for a moment, "Please don't be mad at me,” he muttered softly.

“Mad at you?” Georgie furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. So he didn’t love her back. Not in the way she wanted anyway. But that was okay, she just wanted to tell him what she felt. And if he didn’t feel it back...well, even though she would be heartbroken and probably would cry her eyes out for the rest of her days...it would be okay if Sawyer was happy as he was, with or without her. That was the most important thing.

Sawyer half smiled, edging closer as he whispered, “For this,” With her face still cupped in his hands, the boy closed the distance between them and pressed his lips against hers in a tender kiss.

Georgie yelped in surprise but she didn’t say anything as she leaned into the kiss. How long had she waited for this? How long...aw fuck it. She reached behind her to unbuckle her seatbelt and turned to face him fully, stopping the kiss for one second so that she could whisper that she loved him.

Sawyer knew he’d made the right move when she pressed back into the kiss, chuckling at the yelp she’d made. He let her pull away with ease, smiling a bit wider as she repeated what she’d said before. His heart was hammering in his chest. It all seemed to be happening a bit fast. They’d just gotten back on decent terms after spending nearly two years not talking, and now they were confessing their feelings and kissing? Part of him knew he should stop, but the other part wanted this. A big part of him wanted this. He wanted her. He always wanted her. He breathed a little happy sigh, whispering shyly as if someone else but her might hear him. “I've always loved you, Georgie.”

She pressed a hand to his cheek and kissed his nose, smiling so hard that she felt like her cheeks might burst. This was it. This was what she never knew that she was waiting for. And it might sound cheesy, but she believed that nothing else could get in the way of them. They’ve already had their fair share of drama, but now...She sighed blissfully. Now, they were perfect. Throwin some shade here...don’t mind me.

Sawyer smirked and turned bright red when she kissed his nose, shying away from it a little with a small grin. The boy reached forward with both arms, wrapping her up in a gentle hug before letting out an equally blissful sigh.

♥ ♡ ♥

After their moment wedged between the front and back seats of the truck, Georgie moved herself so she was sitting in the back with Sawyer. Gavin had already walked back to the truck a few moments ago and now that they were on their way to her house, she could just spot the smile that Gavin held on his face through the rear-view mirror. She interlaced her own fingers with those of Sawyer and noticed that she sported an equally excited smile. As they pulled up to the front of her house Georgie pushed open the passenger seat door and carefully climbed out, while the events that had happened tonight were enough to sober her up considerably, she was still a bit unstable on her feet. She paused on the walkway and looked to Sawyer, half hoping and half wanting him to walk her to the door.

Sawyer couldn’t wipe the smile from his face as they rode in the back together the rest of the way to her house. When they arrived, Sawyer let Georgie get out first and was in the process of scooting across the seats when Gavin reached back and placed a firm hand on his shoulder. Sawyer looked back to meet his brother’s equally firm gaze.

“Yes?” Sawyer asked, a bit of confusion and slight brotherly irritation in his tone.

“You two need to take this slow. I don’t want her to get hurt.”

“And you think I do? You know how I’ve always felt for her. Before, it was… out of my control. I would never do anything to hurt her.”

Gavin raised his eyebrow, his tone a bit flat. Intentionally.

Sawyer narrowed his eyebrows at his brother but didn’t have much to say in response, shrugging off his brother’s grip as he slid the rest of the way out of the truck. His expression softened as he rejoined Georgie, smiling his usual smile for her as he gently took her hand in his and kissed the side of her head.

“Come on, luv. Let’s get you home,” Sawyer whispered, gently tugging her forward as they walked up to her front door.

Chanel | Aaliyah | Julie

Still floating alone in the middle of the pool Julie blinked the last of her tears out of her eyes. Just as she was in the final stages of her shame spiral, two cannonballs broke the still surface of the water. The redhead splashed about in her state of shock as she turned around in the pool to see what had made the commotion. When she saw that it was her favorite girls a small smile spread across Julie’s mouth that she was hiding under the surface of the water.

“I’m sorry if I scared you guys… I just..” she didn’t really know how to end that sentence. What had she been doing? She was the one who had initiated the weird cat and mouse game with Reli. She was the one who had kissed that big hulking football player and yet, when Reli had left with someone that wasn’t her something had broken inside her. “I don’t know, I just hate men. I’ll just stick with you guys from now on.” she stated and wrapped her arms around Chanel’s neck and floated behind her and rested her chin on her best friends shoulder.

A knowing half-smile appeared on Chanel's lips as she patted Julie's hands with her own. "Girl, join the club," she said with a chuckle. As someone who's had her fair share of being disappointed by the men of King's, Chanel wasn't at all hesitant to speak her truth. "Men are useless. But why even stress over them when you've got your best friends... right Aaliyah? I mean, I don't know many men that would jump into a pool and risk fucking up their makeup just to make sure their girl is okay."

Having jumped so recklessly into the pool left her without thinking about the consequences. The water was so cold and sent rows of goosebumps up and down her spine. Trying not to drown and puke at the same time was something only champions could do or well just Aaliyah in this moment. She surfaced to see Julie enveloping Chanel in quite the loving embrace. Her make up had been undone and began to make a runny mess across her face, only furthering her transition into an undead monster. Best friends?” the thought of them considering her as such kinda sorta blew her mind, but she was too drunk to really obsess over it. “Yeah who needs them? To tell you the truth I’m not very good with guys. I’m like 0-2 for them,” she said, holding up both hands to mimic her record, quickly forgetting she needed to use them to stay afloat.

Julie giggled as the two girls made her feel better. But just as she was about to thank them both, the music cut off and a familiar voice could be heard coming out from the outside speakers. Eyes widening when she heard April's announcement Julie's gaze shifted from Aaliyah to Chanel. "We should probably do some damage control…" she said as she swam to the edge of the pool and hoisted herself up. Dripping wet she looked around for her dress and hastily put it back on soaking the fabric. “Come on! We need to find her. Her idiot boyfriend is probably behind all of this!” she exclaimed as she hastily put on her heels wobbling as she rushed inside the house again. Julie’s dress kept slipping of her shoulder exposing her pale wet skin.

Chanel hurriedly began to follow suit; she couldn't help but cringe as she slipped her costume back on. "Yeah, this is definitely not being worn again," the young woman said as she slapped the cowboy hat on top of her damp braids and sped through the door. Her mind momentarily drifted away from her ruined outfit, however, when the familiar, dopey voice yelled in their direction.

“Woah Jules, if you wanted me that bad we could’ve just continued where we left of back there!” Joshua catcalled from the drinks table.

Julie responded only by raising her hand flipping him off as she pushed through the crowd, craning her neck trying to spot their friend. Chanel threw up a similar gesture in the boy's direction before falling back in step with Julie and Aaliyah. "Okay so, we know she isn't by the liquor table... and after the announcement she just made, I don't think she'd be up for dancing with everyone. That doesn't leave us much ground to cover, right?"

Just as she was gaining her bearings, April had other plans for PBR’s Varsity swim team. In synchronization Jules jumped out of the pool, dressing herself, and running towards the center of the commotion. Chanel followed suit which only left one thing for Aaliyah to do, follow. Floundering out of the pool, Aaliyah rushed as best as she could into her dress in dismay knowing her mother was going to kill her for this. Her heels did no favors to her as having wet feet made them even harder to walk in. Following the trend her friends set, Aaliyah flipped off the boy in her haste to make it to April with the rest of them. “Uh well usually in the movies when people split up, they die so it’s up to you guys. She’s probably going after Santiago or maybe with Kavi?”

But almost as soon as those words had left Aaliyah’s mouth, an angry looking Ariel came storming down the stairs, tears streaming down her face. Chanel watched the girl disappear into the crowd before shooting her friends a confused expression. "I'm gonna assume that whatever... that was means that she isn't with Kavi at the moment. So let's go with Santiago; we find him, and we just might find her. No need to split up."

And so, the three girls continued the search for their friend; But after covering the majority of the downstairs area and taking a quick peek upstairs, Chanel couldn't help but feel defeated. Not only did she begin to feel slightly nauseous from the alcohol and late night swimming combo, but the wet clothing that clung to her body had caused her to grow increasingly uncomfortable as time went on. After a while, Chanel finally just turned to her friends and let out a frustrated sigh. "You know what? Why don't we just go back to Julie's and call it a night? I need to get out of these clothes and get them into the dryer... and I'm sure you two feel the same way. We can just text April and tell her to meet us there."

Hell really did hath no fury like a woman scorned. A storm or anger and tears stomped passed them managing to captivate the other three with the same look of confusion. Unable to lighten the mood Aaliyah just turned to face the other two. “Yeah good plan, I don’t know about y’all but I wasn’t trying to die first” she said with a breath of relief, quickly making her way up the stairs in search of Santiago after finding no trace down below. What felt like a century in soaked clothes and nipping drowsiness from the alcohol left the trio to call it a night. The taste of defeat was almost as bitter as those shots she threw back, “I mean she has to go home, eventually right? I need a hot shower after tonight.”

An @Altered Tundra, @Dirty Pretty Lies, @Spooner, & @Ejected Collaboration Post
featuring Sonny Drake, Kavan Varma, Marisol Castillo, and Archer Diedrikson

They were left alone. Not only were they left alone, but with Marisol going off to calm down after her intense confrontation with Salem, which Sonny still wished he was able to hear and was even more surprised to see that she didn’t kick him anywhere, both Sonny and Kavan sat there in their little corner of the Salvador house doing absolutely nothing. He didn’t know if Kavan was waiting for him to say something or for Archer to return. Either way, it was awkward and something definitely to be done about it.

But nothing did. God, Sonny usually could handle small talk but aside from their respective gayness (even though Sonny’s still in the closet to the public) and their gravitation towards each other as of late, there wasn’t a lot of common ground between the two. Pharaoh and woman did not make for a dynamic duo meme to name.

Sonny had turned to face Kavan, giving the man a small smile that was more awkward than if he had pulled out one of his silicon breasts again. The only thing worth noting was April’s announcement that she was currently with child and people talking about how Kavi got shoved into a pool. Sonny was more disappointed in himself that he didn’t have anything to talk about with Kavan. Did they really have so little in common that he couldn’t think of something to talk to him about?

“So, uh, this is fun.” Sonny awkwardly said. It was the first thing said that didn’t feel like a completely idiotic thing playing out in Sonny’s mind. “I mean, I guess--” Before he could get that out, Sonny heard some people speed past him.

“This way, bro! That one fairy dressed as a fairy is about to get creamed by Brad!”

Seeing the group of excited students brag about some fairy, it didn’t take long for Sonny to figure out who they were talking about. “I think that fairy they mentioned is our fairy.” Already he was getting pissed off and instinctually took Kavan by the hand. It was one thing for Sonny to jokingly call archer a fairy. He knew it came from a place of like and respect, but for others to use it so casually set something ablaze inside Sonny.

Hearing someone other than Sonny refer to his boyfriend as a "fairy" had also lit a fire inside of Kavan; his fingers tightened around the other boy's hand as he watched the group of students rush towards the back of the house. This anger, however, was almost instantly replaced by an intense feeling of worry as what that last student had said finally sunk in. "Oh my god," Kavan suddenly said to Sonny, "We have to go!"

And without uttering another word, Kavan rushed off in the same direction as the rest of the party-goers, practically dragging Sonny behind him. He didn't stop until the horrifying sight of Archer being punched in the face by none other than Brad Leone stopped him dead in his tracks.

Sonny knew that Kavan wasn’t much of a fighter and neither was Archer, so that made him even angrier. The more he watched the more it seemed like Sonny couldn’t just do that. He and Archer had their problems and maybe even had a genuine beef with each other at one point, but just like Archer has been coming to terms that Sonny isn’t a bad guy, he also was coming to terms that Archer wasn’t a great person. Sonny would even go as far as to say he was starting to think of Archer as a friend. He always has but now it’s got respect on its name.

One of his hands balled up into a fist while the other gripped his Prada bag. “Jesus Bradley,” Sonny said, stepping forward. “You got a lot of pent up rage, beating up a gay boy. There must be a reason for this. Like maybe you’re struggling with something that you’re not ready to admit to yourself and that’s why you’re taking it out on my boy here.” He taunted him, shooting a wink Archer’s way. “Wouldn’t you agree, Archie?”

Groaning, Archer took the opportunity to crawl away from under his attacker as he was distracted by what Sonny was saying. Spitting blood on the grass he looked up at the crowd. “I’m busy trying to not die to agree on whatever you said Sonny.” he panted. "But listen Brad. Are you done? Have you exerted enough testosterone to attract a mate?" Archer said gesturing towards the crowd that had formed with one hand and gingerly touching the bleeding cut on his left eyebrow. Judging by the rage that spread across Brad's face he either didn't like Archer's comment or he just didn't understand it, so he went in for another punch.

But what Brad Leone wasn’t expecting was to feel a hot, sharp, stabbing pain in the left side of his ribcage as a blunt, heavy object made contact with his body.

With a loud grunt, Brad’s heavy body fell from Archer. The large lacrosse player rolled around clutching his side. An almost animalistic growl escaped him as he whipped around to see who had hit him. He rose slowly, steam almost emanating from his body, to come face to face with none other than Marisol Castillo.

“All these damn years and you still haven’t learned you don’t fuck with Archer?!” Mari cried out, looking very much like a deranged Wednesday Addams with her red face and murderous glare. “Did you forget when my brother kicked your ass two years ago for it? You need me to fuck you up too?” she threatened, tapping the tip of the bat against the ground and taking up the stance of a batter in the home plate. "Come at me, bitch!"

When Marco and Soleil Castillo had settled out of court with Victoire Bailey’s father to keep Marisol out of jail nearly three months previously, it had been on the condition that she keep her nose clean and stay out of trouble. The arrangement for Mari to basically ‘pay off her debt’ by working for Kai Parata’s surf shop was, of course, with the intent that their daughter understands that her actions had consequences. And finally, the two-week stint at the mental preserve was meant to teach the volatile young woman better, healthier ways of dealing with her anger issues.

But how could anyone expect Marisol to remain calm when life threw back-to-back curveballs like these her way? After the breakup with Sal, the green-eyed girl had done an excellent job at keeping herself in check when all she wanted was to break his nose the same way he’d done to Sonny. Hell, even her words had been dialed down into something less vicious than what she wanted to say. She had planned to go straight home, have a good cry to get things out of her system, then dilute her feelings with a little weed. But nooooo, Brad Leone had to play tough guy with Archer again. And what was a volatile girl to do when her best friend was getting beat up by a bully other than to spring to action? She’d take the assault charges over watching Archie get snuffed anytime.

It was around this time that Kavan took the opportunity to grab Archer by the arms and help lift him back up on his feet. "God, this guy needs some serious anger management classes," Kavan muttered as he placed himself between Archer and the events that were unfolding on the lawn; while he wasn't much of a fighter, he figured that he'd rather throw a few punches and risk ending up like Archer than watch his friends face some rage-filled meathead on their own.

Archer was quiet as he stood behind Kavan. He stood looking at his feet letting the situation sink in. It had been a long time since he was in the center of this kind of scandal, and here he was again dragging his friends into his shit. Worst of all he was dragging Kavan into all of this. Archie grabbed Kavan’s arm to signify not to get involved. If his boyfriend got hurt because of him, Archer would never forgive himself. Before them getting together Kavan would’ve never have had to face something like this. He would just go through his senior year in peace. He looked into the dark eyes of his partner bloody lip trembling, words escaping him. “Kav…” he whispered, not knowing what more to say.

Kavan simply shook his head and took hold of Archer’s hand, giving it a comforting squeeze after he did so. He then returned his attention to Brad, who didn’t look too happy about being struck by Marisol’s bat. While part of him was wondering if Mari always brought along the aluminum object just in case of instances like this one, the other was beginning to grow anxious as he watched the large Lacrosse player approach her with a clenched fist.

And that’s when Sonny had aptly intervened. The blonde wig flowed with the motions of his body. A sound of tapping flats on the stonework ground following the muted noise of his arm over the height of his body, blocking the punch that Brad had irresponsibly directed at Marisol. As he held the lacrosse player there, seeing the way he gritted his teeth, Sonny with his cherry lipstick-covered lips curving into a smile, stood in front of everyone and shook his head at the unlucky jock.

“So, let me get this straight,” he began, doing a quick headcount. “You not only try and maim Archer but after feeling the wrath of Marisol, you try and attack her, too?” He sighed. “I knew you were homophobic, but Jesus, Bradley! How will you come back when people find out you’re a misogynistic asshole too?” As he repeatedly shook his head, Sonny brought his free arm, the one that was carrying the loaded Prada bag and swung with every bit of strength he could muster, slamming it into the same part of his abdomen that Marisol’s trusty bat had hit.

Brad yelled out in pain and staggered back briefly before a new spout of rage burst forward. The large man lunged forward and charged Sonny with the intent of tackling him to the ground.

Marisol didn't even think twice before she dropped the bat, lunged forward and tackled Brad. His body hit the floor first, hers falling on top of him and shielding her from any real damage. Before she had time to react, Mari wrapped her arm around his neck in a chokehold of sorts, pressing her forearm against the boy's neck.

"Last warning, Leone. You mess around with Archer again in any way and I find out? I won't play nice. You know I don't give a fuck about going to jail."

“What a sight,” Sonny remarked, basking in the glory of the sight in front of him. “This won’t go well for his street cred. Getting knocked around by a dude in a dress and a girl. And all because he picked the wrong fight with the wrong person.” Sonny turned his head, shooting Archer a wink. “This, boys and girls of the audience, is what happens when you’re homophobic trash. You get beat up and embarrassed!” Sonny spoke loudly and quite charismatically at that, laughing at poor defenseless Brad.

Archer just looked on without moving a muscle. Instead of relishing in the revenge that was going on right in front of him, all he wanted was to go home. "Mari… just. Let's just leave. I think he gets it." He said shakily still grabbing Kavan's arm.

“Your wish is my command,” Mari said sweetly, giving Brad’s neck one last squeeze before releasing him and standing back up. She pretended to straighten out her black dress and hair and turned to Sonny, Kavan, and Archer with a grin on her face as if she hadn’t just released all the pent-up anger of being broken up with on Brad Leone. “So! Now that the trash’s been taken out… Where to next?”

A Collab between @HaleyTheRandom and @eclecticwitch; featuring Sunshine and Guy.

Guy wandered, making his way toward the refreshments table with all sorts of feelings assaulting his poor, simple brain. This was not how he saw the night going. He hadn’t really had a thought on what the night would have been like, but he if had this certainly would NOT have been it. Watching Archer with Kavan. Getting kissed by some guy in drag. Being in fucking Kavi’s house. It was… a lot.

Standing at the table he surveyed the selection. He didn’t drink and so didn’t know what to choose. He picked up bottles only to set them down. Guy was having an inner battle. To drink or not to drink? That was the question. At last he picked up a bottle of good vodka, poured a bit into his empty cup. He tossed it back like he knew what he was doing but after swallowing the burn of the hard liquor kicked in. He began to cough, hiding his face against his sleeve.

Sunshine was starting to have second thoughts about coming to the Halloween party. She had considered the party for being a good place to meet and see her new classmates. All she had managed to do was meet a random hot guy and make another girl extremely uncomfortable. Debating on whether or not to try and mingle somewhere else, she heard a loud coughing behind her. Turning to see a young man clutching a bottle of vodka she sort of smiled at him - a mixture of both pity and amusement.

”No chaser? Someones feeling kinda ballsy.”

Guy looked at the young woman who spoke to him through the tears that welled up in his bleary eyes. “Chaser?” he asked with a final cough. He fanned his face, the exertion making him warm. “Like quidditch?” he asked, and then felt quite stupid. She probably was not talking about fictional sports.

”Definitely not like quidditch,” she said laughing. ”Something to drink after the liquor. Coke or something to that effect. It helps with the taste and such. I’m guessing you don’t do a lot of drinking though, huh?”

He shook his head in response as a cough erupted from him again and into his arm. How many more could he possibly have. “No, not really. What’s good?” The girl seemed quite nice and hopefully she would help him out of this very odd pickle. “I like things that are tangy and sweet.” He hoped that would help her in some way.

She took a moment to think. Sunshine’s go to had always been tequila, but she wasn’t completely sure if he would like it, especially with not being one to drink that much. If tangy and sweet was what he was looking for though... ”What about a screwdriver?” she suggested. ”Not like…. The tool, but… just give me a second.” Scanning the table quickly, she didn’t see any orange juice, but she remembered seeing the kitchen not to far from the drink table. ”I’ll be right back, promise.” So off she went, searching for the refrigerator.

Guy just watched the little ball of sunshine skip off after recommending something for him. He stood, stupidly and awkward with the bottle of vodka in one hand and an empty red solo cup in the other. Would she get waylaid and not come back? How long should he wait? He decided to take another shot to not feel like such a weirdo. Prepared this time, after the short drink there was much less coughing.

It didn’t take Sunshine too long to find the Salvador kitchen. While she second guessed how pleased Kavi would be if someone had decided to rummage around in his parents things, she quickly brushed the thought to the side. Didn’t want people snooping? Don’t attempt to throw a rager. In no time at all, Sunshine had managed to find the orange juice and return back to the new guy. Promptly picking up one of the red solo cups, she poured some of the juice into it before picking up one of the bottles of vodka to pour in there as well. Feeling like she had a decent amount of the mixture before her, she turned to hand it to the young man, a sort of proud smile on her face.

”Try this.”

She came back. He was honestly surprised, considering the type of party this was. He gave her one of his goofy, lopsided smiles and took the drink. He sipped, testing it carefully. While still quite strong it was much more palatable. Guy wasn’t a complete idiot - he understood the concept of mixing a drink. He was just looking to potentially get plastered. This would certainly help. “It’s good!” he responded with a light and airy tone. “Guy,” he held out his hand to the girl.

Yet another smile came across Sunshines face, this time of relief. She shook his hand in return. ”Sunshine,” she responded. ”My actual name’s Sable, but the nickname seems to get used more, so. Anyway, what’s your reasons for wanting to get wasted?”

He clasped her hand carefully, his much larger around the small feminine. The girl made him feel like he wasn’t such a dork. “Sable, interesting. Sable is a dark color - black. Sometimes used to describe something gloomy. The nickname is much more fitting I think.” He released her hand and glanced out at the room. He gestured toward all of the people and noise. “This is more than I am used to. A lot to take in. I don’t normally drink, if you couldn’t tell but I think the occasion calls for it.”

”That’s fair,” she replied simply. ”I thought I could use the party as a way to meet people. I haven’t been doing that great of a job, but at least I could help you find something to drink.” Taking a moment to look his costume over, the name of whatever character he was dressed as didn’t come to mind immediately. His choice of wardrobe pulled at some distant memory in the back of her mind - a movie she was pretty sure she had seen when she was little. ”What - or who - are you dressed as?” she asked. ”I feel like I should know, but… I don’t.”

“This sort of party is difficult to meet people at. A lot of noise and a lot of drugs.” He shrugged and sipped his drink again. He glanced down at his costume and the lopsided grin appeared again - this one a bit sheepish. “Milo Thatch, from Atlantis. I do believe you are doing a fantastic job of the classic Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, yes?” He crossed one of his arms over his chest to grasp his upper arm while the other hand held his drink. The hand which held the drink pointed his forefinger toward her costume.

”Oh, thanks!” she exclaimed. ”Kinda figured it was a safe choice. Not too slutty, ya know?”

“Nothing wrong with being slutty either,” he offered. How strange he was having yet another conversation about the appropriate level of clothing for the genders. “The way I see it, slutty is the state of the onlookers mind.” He shrugged and gulped down his drink. “But this isn’t the kind of party to have political or philosophical conversations at.” He chuckled.

”Seems fair,” Sunshine said thoughtfully. ”I’m just glad I could find you something likeable enough to drink.”

“Yeah, thank you. If you wouldn’t mind… I’d love to take a shot with you.” He knocked back the last of his drink before collecting a bottle of clear tequila and a pair of plastic shot glasses. He filled the glasses and offered one to Sunshine. “To new friendships,” he said as he raised his own glass.

”Of course,” Sunshine said with a smile, taking the second shot glass from him. ”And to all Palm Beach has to offer.” He clicked his glass with hers and they knocked them back before Guy offered to enter his number into her phone. He was also kind enough to take a selfie to add to the contact, in case she forgot who he was by tomorrow.
