Did you know that Dante's inferno is called a divine comedy because things work out for the protagonist? Back in the day, the only two genres were comedy and drama. The only difference was that in a comedy, the protagonist is better off at the end, and a drama is the opposite. So that's why a story about going through hell can still be considered a comedy, even if it's not funny.

Name:
Broken Promise, BP, Boss

Age:
Old enough to know better, too young to care. (that is to say 30's)

Preferred RPs:
I Prefer to make my own, but will occasionally join something if it looks interesting. I'll join just about anything so long as it isn’t overly edgy/sweet, though it's rare for me to do. I don't do 1x1s too often either.

Preferred Roles:
I tend to play adorable characters everyone wants to befriend or proper assholes everyone wants to stay away from. I try not to play moral paragons or prime evils.

RP Conquests:
I've completed quite a few RP's off site, but most of them are on private forums or have simply been lost to the ravages of server crashes. As for stuff here, I'm sure everyone who sees me post in the off topic sections has seen me find an excuse to talk about Danganronpa: Tower of Carnage. It's a project that took over 4 years to complete and I feel pride not only for myself but all the wonderful people who helped make it enjoyable during its run. Re: Zero: The High Council Is technically my first, but it was just something I kind of took over and ended up ending the story after just six months. It finished, but eh...

Last RP I finished was Symphony of Espers which turned out pretty good.

RP's in progress:
For some reason I can't seem to stay away from Ari's magical girl RP, even if I'm not sure why I'm still in it.

As for my own projects, I'm doing Symphony on High to continue the gigachad adventures of the espers in Pax Septimus.

RP Graveyard:
I've been pretty fortunate on this forum. I think I joined one when I first came on the site that didn't really do anything, and there are a few 1x1 things that didn't go anywhere. It's disappointing when an RP ends before it can be finished, but I've come to look at them as learning experiences.

And then there's that london magical girl RP, and that dark magical girl RP. I think I'm done joining magical girl RPs for a while.

Other interests:
Videos
I watch a lot of educational videos on youtube. Usually as research for something I’m writing or purely because a topic interests me. I like channels like Tier Zoo and Daryl Talks Games, and I’ll also watch things like Critical Drinker or Literature Devil to deepen my understanding of story telling. Though I also like memes and jokes, to which I’ll find myself watching stuff like Sseth, but usually find myself surfing through meme videos. I gotta work on that.

Games
I have a rather long history of playing virtually every platformer to come into existence during the indie boom, as well as quite a few other indie games. I’ve played Meatboy, Binding of Issac, Gunvolt, Cuphead, Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt, Classic Metroid, Warcraft 3, Final Fantasy 7,8, and 14, Left 4 Dead, Shantae, Celeste, Danganronpa, God Eater, the list goes on. What I’ve played is kind of all over the place. I don’t play many games these days, I tend to pick things that look interesting and go on a decent steam sale.

Painting Minis
I do this in moderation. Otherwise, it's a pretty expensive hobby to start...

Music
I listen to everything, save most country/rap songs. I have too many favorites to name.

Personality:
Not one to take life or the internet too seriously. Is only serious about writing well and having a good time.

People to Insult:
Dalton is a Dingus.

Autism should never be celebrated.

Was the second weapon a Gold Coin purchase? Great number crunching here, good job. Not that I'll accept it, heh.

Second weapon was indeed a gold coin purchase. Gold coins seem like the one way to give your character something cool, and spending it on stats feels like a waste. (no offense to best boi alex.)

As for not accepting it, That means the above build will only yield 29 vitality. However, I just remembered that emergency allows one to pick two combat related feats and shift everything else over to the combat side for free. So in choosing this perk, the above build will only yield 28 Vitality, but I can shift the two support perks over to something vitality related to get it up to 30. I can even use my fifth perk for something vitality related, which gets me 31. Then if I so chose I could pick light or odd ball as a specialization, or simply select a different outfit, body shape, etc.

Or maybe you meant that you wouldn't accept the character. But at 30 Vitality, magical girls can even survive GM intervention. But I have too many characters already so I will respect your choice.
I do not apologize for double posts. No one else does.

So I wanted to demonstrate how someone could get 30 vitality if they were very lucky (or cheated) because I was bored.

Name: Lunar Ocean

Appearance:

We're going to say she has an average body and take the vitality bonus. We're also going to call that a uniform. (6 vitality so far)

Specialization: Stone. I wanted a darkness character, but if I'm going for 30 vitality as a vanilla magical girl, this is my only option. (9 vitality so far)

Weapon: We're going to go with two melee weapons, because spending a gold coin for a stat boost is LAAAAME (11 vitality so far)

Oh, and because I'm cheating, I'm going to grab the contract that adds +1 to my weapon's stat. So it's currently +2 vit per weapon. I mean, the contract isn't really clear if you add + 1 to your second weapon, but the way I see it is, a dark magical girl's second weapon is twice as strong as her primary weapon. So I'm going to apply this bonus to both of my weapons. Though obviously this would be up to the GM. (13 vitality so far)

Power: #1: Shouldn't matter, as nothing adds to Vit.

Perks:

Enhanced weapon, because it effects both weapons. So I now have two +3 Vit weapons. (15 vitality so far)

Duel weapon is tempting, but I can't pick melee weapons, so no extra VIT. So I can pick any Vit based ability I want, which could be gifted, blood magic, etc. I will not take metamorphisis because I want my vitality ALL THE TIME! (16 vitality so far)

Nothing on the second table adds to Vit, and if you spend a bronze coin to flip to a vit stat, you can't spend it on the stat itself. So nothing you do here really matters as far as your Vit stat is concerned.

Patron: For stat boosting, Deity is the best option. You get +1 to all your physical stats. Also make sure to pick physical prowess as a bonus benefit. Then just make sure none of your other options reduce vitality. (18 vitality so far)

And 4 silver and 4 bronze is 12 points in vitality (30 vitality so far)

Stats (Untransformed):
STR: Varies
AGI: 4
VIT: Varies
MAG: 3
LCK: Varies

Stats (Transformed):
STR: 7
AGI: 5
VIT: 30
MAG: 4
LCK: Varies

So in the end, I have a magical girl who is very durable, strong enough to pick up a full grown human with ease, slightly faster than the average human, and has utility-level magic. There is a little bit of variety in how her perks and power line up. If I got power of friendship, she could be a diplomat willing to talk it out with even the most aggressive foes. Regeneration is an obvious choice for a durable combatant, or maybe your roll in a fight is to distract your opponent with your tentacles, or simply hang off their arm while your friends wail on them.

As for getting other stats to 30, it's definitely doable. Agility can actually get a little higher because of how stupid the bonus from air is, but your other stats will be pretty empty. Strength is much easier due to Gauntlets giving you 2 strength, and more element choices offering 3 strength. Mag is also possible, but you'd be locked into gravity, as you can only get 1 extra Mag out of your patron. Luck is of course a big nope, even if you're a DMG or MG. But again, 30 being possible for vitality and magic really rides on weather the GM would let you apply that contact bonus to both weapons, provided you didn't decide to just spend the gold coin on a flat stat boost. Even so, you still need to be lucky enough to get all that other stuff at random. You did randomly roll all of your rolls, right? You weren't one of those people who picked a contract and then "smugged" their way through the rest of the character sheet were you?

The moral of the story: Just enjoy your damn characters.
@Majoras End You can post them in the character tab.

@Warpcircuit Very well, Lucy is yours.

I will write the chapter ending post over the weekend, which for someone in retail like myself is Sunday/Mondayish. I'm also American, so timezones and the like need to be factored into that.

With everyone's new characters in the RP, we have 20 characters total. That doesn't account for any of the NPCs (of which I count Caora among them) That's 24 characters total. From here on out, I'm going to be looking to shrink that number as much as possible. One could say the plans are already laid...

But just because the next chapter is beginning doesn't mean my work is over. Before I even tackle the case, I need to do these important tasks.

-Add the last chapter to the chronicle, so it may be preserved even if this forum falls.

-Update the Character tab, so we may know those lost, loved, and living.

-Restructure the OOC page, so the players may know harmony.

-Create a map of the next floor, for a perilous journey is deserving of guidance.

-Flesh out the NoC, for the spread of carnage need not be a chaotic endeavor.

You guys can actually help with some of this. I need room ideas for the resort and hospital towers, as well as brief descriptions of them. You could make a blueprint of the floor. It doesn't have to be pretty, so long as I can make a map out of it we should be fine.

I also need everyone who has ideas for the NoC to message me. Be it your character being impaled on Alexandria's pike, or an interesting challenge/motivation for the characters.

Lastly, I am still deciding on a blackened and victim for this case. Do know that the case five characters have already been selected, and this will be your last chance to participate in either one of these rolls.

AND ONE FINAL NOTE!

If you are going to come to me and offer to sacrifice your characters to the despair gods, be it victim, blackened, or something else, there are no take backs. I had a victim bail on me for the last case, and two NoC fatalities bail on me. Neither of these instances were fun to deal with, and I almost regret letting them off the hook so easy. So just a word of warning: Once you say yes, they're mine!
”Threaten?” Kyra raised an eyebrow, but she wasn't going to get a response from Cyrus, who left in a huff.

Emily wanted to greet the new patients as soon as possible. But upon her arrival, she became aware of how many other infinites were ready to do the exact same thing. The old Emily might have cut in front of everyone and throw herself in front of the new infinites, calling out her name, title, all before ordering Thomas to talk to them. But that was probably the last thing they wanted. As is, they were surrounded by a bunch of new faces, half of which they would likely forget. It was a lot to take in, and even Emily wasn't really ready for everyone when she was introduced into this killing game. Instead, her roll here would be to stand by and watch over anyone that might need her help. After Calvin's outburst, she immediately approached the metalworker. ”It's alright Calvin. First impressions are important, but they aren't everything!” Emily wore a nervous smile. ”Remember how I was acting at the party? I let one of my mistakes ruin an entire evening of wonders, for myself and everyone else.” She forced herself to chuckle. ”But I'm not going to let that stop me from being a better roll model in the future, and you shouldn't either!” Did that sound forced? It would be a long time before she had everyone's respect again.

”Hey!” Monokuma popped out of the floor. ”There's like twenty of you guys now! Do you know how long it'll take fort you all to introduce each other? The average person doesn't have time to exchange names with so many people at once!” The bear furiously thrust his paw forward. ”You guys can't even say a few words to these cubs without blowing a gasket. That's why it's best to just leave everything to the automated Monokuma express introduction system.” He pointed at a monitor. ”Alright girls, roll daddy's mix tape!”

A picture of the Horologist appeared on the monitor. ”Juliette Claire-Ora Bourbon, wow, say that five times fast. She even shares her last name with a drink, which you will likely have to take after saying her name that many times. Apparently she's pretty good at counting time. But she's kind of pointless with the advent of clocks being built into our cell phones. She's a time traveler too by the way. Yea, she travels folward in time at about one second per second.”

The next was a picture of the gunslinger. ”That thar's George Henry, the most rootin-tootin gunslinger the initiative has. But sunny boy here almost got beat out by a master of them-thar Indian contraptions. Maybe he'll be done in by the advent of devilcraft on the ol' tell-E-phone.”

And finally, the Biologist ”Noah Adam Dyer is apparently very acustom to looking at dead bodies. Probably because he spends so much time in the student body. You know, those collage girls are right up everyone's ally. And while he may look like a little tyke, he's actually a grown man. But don't worry, his current shape fits his mental maturity juuuuust fine!”

Monokuma nodded after the monitor turned off. ”I outdid myself this time.” He turned to look at Daimyon. ”Hey, you know that book you haven't told anyone about? The one with the school girl? Yea, you might wanna think about going to the carnival. Everything else is there.” The bear continued to stare at Daimyon.

When Alice took off running, Davis simply grinned and placed his hands on his hips, still clutching his tie. ”You heard her! The time limit is off!” He lifted a hand in front of his face and closed it into a fist. ”Conquest is mine, it really is!” He chuckled before approaching Lilly. She wasn't the most physically able person, and in putting so much into her tackle, she fell shortly after Alice dodged out of the way. ”And it's yours too! Such an ambitious tackle was just what my plan needed.” He offered his hand to the hacker, which she took this time. Once she was on her feet, he kissed the back of her hand. ”Thank you for your assistance. We should discuss how we're going to get Rosetta back post haste, as well as... Other matters.”Davis released her hand to fetch his PDA. ”How about we go to these...Labs? I trust they will be a bit more formal discussion area than the cabins. Or did you have other ideas?”

Neola was glad that Kara had returned to their small group, evident by her smile. One of the great things about Sayaka was that as an idol, you're suppose to be excited when you see people. But Neola wasn't entirely sure if this was the correct way to be in this situation. Everyone still seemed kind of worried. ”Well, if you had a rubber suit, you could still climb it, right?” She tipped her head. ”So we just need to find a rubber-” But then it happened. It took the smile right off of Neola's face. Sensations deep in her body that she couldn't explain. Not in character anyway. Her hands shifted over her skirt, but she quickly threw them away, knowing that Sayaka would never do something like that. But her knees were starting to shake. Neola hugged herself. It was too much. It was kind of embarrassing, but if she played her cards right, she could tell everyone else what she needed to do to alleviate this sensation. ”Uuuuuuuummmmmmm...” She looked between Snow and Kara. ”Does anyone need to go tho the bathroom?”
@FamishedPants You may post him in the character tab.

Also, I've decided to put Lucy up for adoption. There will be some special conditions when playing her though, but I've decided I don't need to take direct control of her if someone else is willing.
Hard to keep track of where everyone is in the fight, but the post was made with the following assumptions:

-The throne room was maybe 30-40 feet wide and 60-70 feet long.

-It had cathedral ceilings, which were several stories above the floor.

-Helga was slightly behind Sue, off to the side, as she was struck by Sue's wind attack when she was hurled at Janet. (Best boy might want to just stop throwing things.)

-Justine and Lily were in front of Sue, near the alter.

-Alexander is near Sue, either slightly behind, standing beside, or slightly in front of her. He approached Justine, and his orientation to Sue isn't clear. But since he was approaching Justine, it can be assumed that they are in relatively close proximity to each other.

-Janet is beside her lady, and is thus in front of Sue.

-The entrance was behind Sue, so that is most likely where Sil, Scout, and Anaya are.

Also, blast from the past: Benjamin Linus

EDIT: Another assumption was that Janet wasn't using her mist to obscure her lady's voice or obstruct the vision of anyone looking at her, and that the mist outside of Sue's dimensional shift didn't follow Janet to her now coordinates.

Sue hadn't really intended for Justine to actually keep this banter up. But she was, none the less. Each word was another moment Sue could build up her power, and she wasn't about to let the opportunity slip her by. But maybe she should have. Every word that came falling out of Justine's mouth only served to further enrage Sue. She didn't understand the situation, but she understood How backwards Justine was. She was enslaving magical girls, killing them. Sisters and friends alike, turning against each other, because she believed her one relationship was all that mattered.

Things were about to get chaotic. Alexander was barking like a junkyard dog. Silloette, Scout, and Anaya just broke into the room. And it was evident that Janet was about to do something. Finally, she had figured out that her soundwaves could be used to disrupt the air, and was able to create a veil within her mist. but it was too little, too late. Sue knew where everyone was, and wasn't about to wait for everyone to change their positions.

”...No.”

That was the last thing anyone in Sue's vicinity heard before being consumed by an invisible force. It was a vaccum, so no amount of sound could permeate it. The powerful sound waves might have shattered windows, but everyone inside Sue's vaccum was deaf to everything around them. It quickly encompassed the immediate area, Justine and Janet included. But for those gifted with a third eye, they could tell this was just the beginning of a much larger spell. Sue wasn't even trying to create a barrier, she was trying to remove everyone she could from this place. Sue, Justine, Janet, Alexander, Lily, and Helga were all going to leave the overcity. Though there was still time for a few hitchikers to join them, should they understand what was going on. For those that stayed behind, they would see that part of the top floor blink out of existence. There was a hole that lead straight down into the room below.

Sue and everyone she had traveled with were now hundreds of feet over the ocean, far away from Penrose train station where they entered the overcity from. The vacuum had disappeared, as it was just an effect of the dimensional shift. That move had taken quite a bit of Sue's stored up mana, but she still had quite a bit left. Shifting out of the overcity wasn't just for a change of scenery. Sue was able to alter the air around the floor and make it move the way she wanted. By blasting the floor behind herself with wind, she was able to catapult Justine, Janet, and Lily into the air, who were in front of her. In the event the trio made it in, Sue would make sure the wind didn't hit them with any kind of force, or would simply move the air around them. Without supporting walls, the floor acted like a seesaw. It was steadily falling, but at a slow rate thanks to Sue's wind magic. If anyone fell off the side due to the sudden drop, they would find themselves slowly descending with the floor because of a strong upward draft. But She was definitely starting to clean out her reserves with everything she was trying to do at once. With the three magical girls thrown into the air, Sue floated off the floor and attempted to snatch lily out of the air with her tendrils. She then pulled back her arm to prepare her remaining mana for a special attack. She was scowling like a crazed berzerker, and her eyes were still bloodshot from the crying she did earlier.

”You don't get to save your sister!” She shrieked.

When sue hurled her fist forward, a blast of wind rushed by her opponents. While the wind attack itself was relatively weak, the vacuum behind it was closing with enough force to mimic the sound of thunder.

Oh, now this was very good for Tonya.

Escaping the overcity was the hard part, or at least, Tonya thought it was. But now that they were back in the real world, the only thing she had to worry about was orchestrating Justine's downfall. She'd aid Justine's foes as best she could, obstructing their apparent position while using her gravity magic to assist their attacks.
@River Goblin I will use them as soon as I get my main computer working.

tytytytytyty

EDIT: cpu is still a paperweight, but I'll enjoy this set anyway.
@Sierra I think the simplest thing to do in the case of your spirits would be to simply make it so that even though there are twelve of these spirits, they can trade their responsibilities with other spirits, or are perhaps reborn every time they take on a new "master." But since that ship has sailed, your players are going to have to make due with these other spirits. Unless it's not too late to write up some mumbo jumbo in the lore. I specifically design my RPs so that problems like this never arise.

But even so, nothing dulls the exhilarating feel of death like a bunch of pointless inactivity kills. You might like trying this system if you have some characters like that. I'm actually surprised at how many of my old players are willing to take up another character. But you can always slow the dull of the death knife by giving the physical characters reasons to abandon their quest, or otherwise drop out of the story without dropping dead. Then that just leaves you with figuring out what to do with these spirits.
