As swiftly as the Dragon Queen appeared, it was just as quick that she left the area. The behavior was very much sporadic but who really knew how such a monster thought. All that mattered was that she descended with minimal causalities and destruction; at least compared to Yeshua. However, she almost turned herself right back around to the small city below if only because she felt the presence of another steadily catching up to her risen form. The presence grew deeper despite the speed of which Dragon Queen reached the precipice of the atmosphere.

Still, her wings slowed to avoid suffocating one of her own as she flew higher. To her surprise, it was no monster or Kaiju, but a fox that answered her. Even so, it was clear this was no normal animal, not when it scaled her form easily to perch itself on Dragon Queen’s shoulder. A push of the mind had her eyes shift to stare at the creature. “Mind reader. Then you can hear these thoughts,” the GMG said, growling even in her inner voice. “Leave me, unless you want to burn up in the upper atmosphere.”

If the fox wanted to talk, she could do it at another time. The Dragon Queen shifted her shoulder, wings moving about and directing her in another direction. Instead of rocketing upwards now, her wings carried both GMGs out and away towards the city, anywhere where the fox could be dropped off safely and she could go about her day. “You’ve made my flight pattern more complicated, so I hope it better be worth seeking an audience with me,” Dragon Queen mentally growled. It was very tempting to just flick the fox away after all.

Back on the ground level of Center City, the MFF were slowly recovering from their short but violent burst of activity. As per Commander Yashiro’s orders, the high-ranking officials were required to meet in her presence to debrief the mission and discuss plans forward into the future. Of course, this included Utena and any other personnel who’d gotten close to the engaging GMG. Oddly enough, that included Akari of all people too, whose opinion would be weighed for having spotted Utena from her own shadowy distance.

The main soldiers of the MFF were also called upon to engage in the meeting and it wasn’t long for the many occupants to arrive in Yashiro’s gathering room. In the meantime, the lower ranks were tasked with picking apart the rubbled city, looking for survivors and already beginning the process of rebuilding. After years of GMG attacks, the MFF were expected to have some kind of repairment plan in hand by now after all.

I don't know about the others though (by others I mean non-GM folk who hadnt been seen for at least a day or more)

Clearly Goomie ate them.

“Wow, now ain’t that poetic. You memorize that yourself, nerd?” Shuro cared naught of the bluntness aimed at Isana. After all, if she was going to open herself so easily to insult, she should have expected such an outcome anyway. Regardless, the remainder of the train ride towards the forest was relatively smooth. No one went out of their way to bother her and that was the way Shuro liked it. She almost dozed off into a complete nap but managed to keep one eye open in case she missed their stop. It was better than doing so and listening to one of Isana’s lectures.

By choice or chance, all the Hunters for the most part were gathered up, finding each other rather easily in the forest. Sorano’s group looked as lively as ever, though to be fair, their own wasn’t looking too excited either. Shuro eyed up the darkened vastness just beyond the trees, knowing full well that the only thing keeping her interest on the matter at hand was the act of hunting, to commit to what their blood was meant to do. Even as she held these thoughts, she could see Soga was being swept away by similar sensations, to a degree.

She caught his gaze as he posed his half-given question, looking about at the gathered Hunters before them. “Should we? Of course we should; we’re Hunters. So we hunt.” Despite her tone, Shuro flashed the boy a toothy grin, spinning around a blackened keychain around her ring finger idly. “Sure, we could wait for Sensei to give us the go ahead. But you guys think he’s the type to hold our hands? Or the type to throw us in the middle of the woods at night and have at it. Don’t know about you, but I think it’s the latter.”

Still, she could see his concerns. Different strokes for different folks, and all that. So with a sigh, Shuro turned right back to the two “studious” types, same as before. “Alright Isana, Sorano. Before you get on my ass about it, again, let’s decide here and now before anything stupid happens. We doing group work or off on our own?” It was more for her own benefit than the others, Shuro very much wanting to avoid being yelled at by either of them for being a lone wolf with no regard for others. Again.

I'll post closer to the weekend.
Who else needs to post?

"And... got'cha!" Thea, or rather Graphite Daze, said as she finally got the best over the zombie she was fighting against. All it took was getting a hold of its arm and blowing its head off its shoulders with her shotgun. Sure she probably could have done it faster if she wanted to, but where would be the fun in that?

"Really, have you guys never learned that shotguns are like the best weapons to have around in a zombie apocalypse? Go watch any old movies and you'll what I'm talking about," she said to no one in particular, after noticing that the other Red players had spread apart to do their own hunting either in groups or individually, leaving her alone as more undead crept closer and closer. "Well, let's see what you guys are made of. Come and get me if you can," she said as she retreated toward the territory of the other guilds, to see how they were doing, while trading shots with the creatures.

There was good reason Graphite Daze found herself in solitude, the rest of her team having been slowly pinned down by the zombie forces as each and every Faction were being pushed towards Royal Ranger and Black Cat's bastion of a tower. It left the few and far between stragglers to struggle for themselves, but naturally, the Scourger's leadership didn't seem bothered. That was perhaps the best of outcomes, some of the zombies flanking off from the rest of the horde to pursue Graphite. Just before she could reach the net of area closer to the other teams and her own, one of the foremost zombies pursuing her collapsed forward, deader than undead. The rolling of its head on the ground probably had something to do with it, the rest of the pack halting in their step.

Evidently, the cause of it wasn't settled for waiting and made their entrance known easily. Another undead head popped off its neck until barely a few remained between Graphite and her new guest. She stepped out from the shadows of the large alleyway nearest to Graphite, unphased by the stilled horde observing both girls; further proof of their intelligence. Her blade bleaked in black blood before swiftly put out with a single flick of her wrist before she sheated her sword again, eyeing up Graphite with an unreadable expression.

"Hmm?" Graphite pretty much skidded to a halt when she noticed the zombies falling without she doing anything. It took her a brief moment to notice the presence of another player in the area nearby, not anyone she knew, but judging by the other girl's choice of weapons, she was likely a PVPer just as Graphite. "Interesting," she thought as she pointed her gun at the other girl and pulled the trigger without hesitation, blasting a zombie that had crept behind her back to the mist it spawned from.

"Nice moves you got there. Do we know one another from somewhere or are you here just because of luck?" Graphite said as she reloaded her weapon dramatically. "Either way, I like your style. Everyone knows that katanas are like the second best weapon you can have in a zombie apocalypse, right?" she asked with a confident smile in her lips.

The unknown girl remained unflinching by the powerful shot next to her ear, hearing flesh crumble and fall apart behind her. Graphite wasn't a fool; a quick scan over could reveal the new girl was a Solo Player with no affiliation to any other Faction. Naturally of course, her player name was present above her head like everyone else. It read: Moon Rider. The new girl remained still as Graphite took all the time in the world to reload her firearm, even as the clamoring sounds of an undead storm surrounded them. "Is this supposed to be a joke," were Moon Rider's first words, eyes unreadable by her visor. "You're Graphite Daze, right? The Scourger Deputy. You're not as strong as I'd thought you'd be."

By the minute movements and subtle change in posture, Moon Rider was clearly intent to smack around the other player, but just in case it wasn't known, Graphite could feel a cold and uncaring regard wafting from the other girl. After all, even if HGO was currently in its zombie mode, there was nothing prohibiting players from firing on one another, let alone PvP. "You don't have any power worth my time. Not like that over there," Moon Rider said, tilting her head towards the pillar of flame in the distance. "If you're a Deputy, how come your power is so weak compared to your leader's. No, it doesn't matter. My time is spent better in giving you a swift death."

"I prefer to think that I have room to grow. Even though I think I have plenty already," Graphite joked, puffing her chest as she chuckled at her double entrende. She rested her gun on her shoulder without a care in the world as she listened to this Moon Rider girl who practically wafted hostility off every pore in her body.

"Well, there's nothing I can do about that. The hot head over there gets too good for his own good sometimes, y'know? What fun would it if I just one-shotted everything that the other guilds have to throw at me?" she said after being questioned about her "weakness". "But sure, if you wanna come at me, I'm not gonna run. Give me your best shot—er... slash, Sis," Graphite said as she got ready to take on the other girl.

"That's not very classy for someone's dying words," Moon Rider noted, before zipping on over to Graphite. Her steps held confidence in them and with that confidence came an athleticism that made her appear faster than normal; fast enough to be in front of Graphite in mere moments. Her hands didn't stifle either, slamming the end of her sheath into Graphite's gut. Hand still on the blade's guard, she released it in one fell movement to bring an upwards slash right across the arm holding her gun and cutting into Graphite's shoulder. Digital red splotched from the attack, Moon Rider already twisting around to slam a foot into the same spot her blade had made an indent in.

"It's not my fault that you don't get joke. Or maybe, did you get it a little too well?" Graphite smirked while looking at Moon Rider's chest.

Not a even a minute later, she was already being assaulted by the other player. The speed of the strike was impressive indeed, but not enough that Graphite couldn't shave part of it off using her gun to parry the blade with her armor took care of the rest.

"That's not half bad. I guess I really like your style," she said as she rolled back with the kick, taking the chance to counter with a shot from nearly zero range. "Try parrying this," Graphite smirked as she unleashed the hail of buckshot.

Parry Moon Rider did, body working at a devilish pace. Leaping up high, Moon Rider avoided the nearly point blank shot effortlessly, though her momentum had to go somewhere. Gravity dictated it could only go down, and so she did, right onto Graphite. Feet first, she landed atop the other girl with blade raised high to strike down. A satisfying thunk of wetness was heard as Moon Rider blade sank into Graphite's other shoulder. Moon Rider wasted no time in burying the blade deeper, letting her blade run clean through or wrenching Graphite's shoulder off completely; whichever happened first.

"Well, you really know how to make a girl swoon, don't ya?" Graphite joked even as she laid on the ground stabbed by the other girl. It seems that her armor wasn't that great against blades, which is only to be expected, but that didn't forbid her from having a good time with the fight even as her HP reached zero in a matter of seconds. "I'll give ya this one, but next time around I'll show you a thing or two," Thea said as her game avatar faded.

"Sure you will," Moon Rider mused as the other player faded away into shattered fragments of code and data. Sheathing her blade, she quickly noted the shuffling approach of undead steps in her direction before slipping back into the shadows of the alleyway. It was a shame the Red Faction was without their Deputy now, leaving a logged out and ruffled Thea alone with a bunch of players running past from invisible obstacles. But then again, if she was so weak to have lost so easily, she didn't deserve to be Deputy as far as Moon Rider was concerned.

Shuro met Soga’s gaze when an answer was given, and her sights remained on him even as he turned away. Whether she was satisfied with it was difficult to pinpoint and it wasn’t like any of them had any mind-reading powers. She almost wished she did when their Sensei mentioned Gin’s past and she wondered if that would have any relevance in their mission tonight. After all, a cornered Youkai was usually a dangerous one in their experience.

With their Sensei leaving the classroom, it was indication that they all should start moving out. Shuro was just about to leave herself when Keiji announced he was taking the train too. And given how Isana had already clarified the running ones right now, that meant they’d be sharing a third passenger. Much to her annoyance.

“Whatever, three’s a good crowd number I guess-” Then the foreigner walked up to her, Jack stating his intent to tag along for the ride. “Well, that’s not-” Then Soga immediately returned to give his opinion on the matter, clearly wanting to take the train too. “Hold on, you can’t all just come along. Hey Sorano, you got two more-” The bespectacled Hunter was already walking out the classroom with her own group to follow. “Isana, you can’t just-” There went the shrine maiden not long after.

“Uggggghh. Fine, do whatever,” Shuro said with a heavy, bemoaning shrug. She didn’t think she’d be babysitting a bunch of people who didn’t know where they were going, but here she was. “Yeah, yeah, just make sure you don’t get any more lost than you already are, cause I’m not going out my way to track you down.” Not at all too happy with the situation she was lumped in, Shuro was quick to catch up with Isana and assumed the three boys would follow her towards the train station. By some means, the group of two sprouted into five now. It wasn’t too long before she caught up with Isana, nor would it be to get to the train station.

The festivities were ultimately just that; happy festivities and a pause in the adventure. The two groups still had many journeys to traverse through of course, but unfortunately only one scroll was present on the wanted jobs board. Where the prior two from before had gone was probably a secret known only to Cait, and one scroll meant everyone would wind up on the same floor whether they liked it or not. Much like the others, a simple description was inscribed on the paper.

Umbran Catastrophe: Explore the world cast in shadows. Send morals to the wind and embrace the EDGY darkness! Loot at your own disclosure but watch out for looters looting back the loot you looted. Try not to end up on the wrong side of the law and don’t wake up any eldritch deities.

Assuming everyone wanted to partake in the adventure, the same ritual proceeding would follow. Cait signed away on the scroll like a contract and beckoned both groups towards the only door in the establishment. The new girl upstairs watched casually but made no move to be joining them, at least not yet. Much like before, Black Pentacle and the White Masks were enveloped in light before finding themselves each in a dark alleyway. Some of them were separated.

By choice or chance, the groups were split with some in larger pockets than others. However, each alleyway was relatively close to each other all the same if someone decided to expand their group. Strength in numbers was probably for the best as the hellish and almost neon-like lights from the city above loomed over the newcomers with a harsh buzz. There was also the whirring of jarred sirens coming in their direction but that was probably just a coincidence.

Shuro felt pleasant surprise once their teacher finally introduced himself, enjoying the fact there was going to be a casual air between the class. Good, lest they be saddled with more unnecessary work like the school loved piling onto them. Best yet, they were going out hunting tonight instead of doing lame ice breakers. By the time Kazama was done, Shuro was near-grinning, ear to ear. “Sure, whatever you say Sensei. Bugs are just more prey on the list to hunt.”

With the papers passed around, Shuro glanced at the descriptions labelled on each. It gave her an excuse to ignore Sorano’s offer and Seishiro’s outburst, especially when she read the descriptions even closer. Odd. From what the paper was saying, most of the known members of the Bakekonchu hive seemed to be small time offenders. None of them looked like particularly powerful threats either and she wondered only briefly if death was the appropriate punishment.

She might have shrugged it off as a Hunter’s duty had Soga not immediately brought up the concern too. When he looked at the older members of the club for some form of guidance, Shuro acted on her shrug. “Who knows? Hunters and Youkai think differently so maybe you can ask him that yourself; if you can. We’re just supposed to kill what we’re told to kill and that’s that.” Perhaps it was a bit shrewd, but Shuro wasn’t aiming for kindness. Instead, she watched for Soga’s reaction, wondering what he’d reply with, before her attention snapped to Sorano.

“Nah, I’m good. Was planning on heading there on my own time.” Her gaze lazily focused on Isana next. “Figured I’d take a train too. Maybe I’ll even let you tag along.” Still, the shrine maiden had a point and Shuro figured now was the best time to strategize. It’d be stupid to jump to the forest without a plan. “So wait, we’re all gonna meet up at the forest and then go as a group? Just making sure we’re all on the same page here,” she said with a yawn.
