The sky split open, heaven returning humanity’s tribute to a great warlord.

The earth reformed itself, an empress’s stronghold remade upon the Boston landscape.

Somewhere, an Archer or a Caster must be watching, must be learning, must be thinking.

But Naoko was used to getting punched in the gut, and she was more than accustomed to rolling with the punches. The invocation of Sophie’s Noble Phantasm drained her, but with a leather bodysuit and a helmet, any sign of fatigue was impossible to discern. Instead, she continued to watch, her sharpened senses, her slowed perception of time feeding her so much more information than what she’d usually be able to take in. Information, such as the flare of a Command Seal, not in the building that the gunwielding Servant had pounced into, but in an alleyway nearby.

Who would invoke a resource like that?

The person on the losing side, obviously.

An ugly person who threw lives away with no purpose other than to cement themselves as a terrible person, who decorated themselves with gaudy jewelry meant to establish their total lack of fashion sense, who walked with such uptightness that it was absolutely clear that they had a diamond hard telephone pole stuck up their anus. That was what Naoko saw as she turned to face the foe she knew was already there. There was probably no one in this war who was more of a ‘proper’ magus than this woman. Underneath the opaque faceshield of her helmet, Naoko smirked.

“Holy fuck, if you're going to be a villain, at least have some class.”

And, in one smooth motion, she drew her Sig Sauer and fired six 9mm bullets into the pervert mass murderer’s midsection.

A severing stroke, and the Vice collapsed onto itself, a dying star imploding into a black hole. With a rattling screech, it turned into nothing more than a small, black gem. Against modern weaponry and magical relics, the creature had stood no chance of survival.
“Pleasure as always, Bulwark,” Anne spoke, dropping elegantly onto the ground. When circumstances required it, her footsteps clacked in the officious manner of a maid that needed to be heard, but more often than that, the Magical Maid operated in graceful silence. “The spoils are yours to claim.”

Storing her grenade launcher under her skirt, she closed her eyes briefly, breathing in the scents of the night and sensing the magical energies dispersed through the abandoned park, before shaking her head slightly. No other Vices nearby, for worse. It would be nice if the monsters that preyed on human weakness emerged more often in isolated locales rather than populated metropolises, but then again, Vices weren’t nice, were they? Drawing upon her magic power once more, Anne drew a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow out from the aether next, as smoothly as ever. She opened the passenger side door, and bowed slightly, motioning the swordbearing magical girl inside.

“Shall we continue the hunt, or call it a night?”

Tian-Gui watched Yui’s limbs spasm, the backlash of her actions manifesting, but the golden monolith only watched. Strikers had their own stubborn sort of pride, after all, and as long as the samurai girl didn’t topple over, he was fine with letting her go her own way. “Looks like power’s got a price, yeah,” he remarked, slapping her (lightly) on the back. “Thanks for your hard work.”

Though he couldn’t really smile with his mask on, one of the burning blue eyes of Tian-Gui still blinked out, replicating a wink, before he turned, right as the most troublesome of his classmates approached. Mila was a nice person, for sure, but almost half a year had passed and he still wasn’t totally certain how properly interact with her. Behind the imposing mask of Final Red, the Striker screwed his face up in an awkward expression, before responding, just as awkwardly and martially, “It’s the duty of a Striker to defend, but your gratitude is…appreciated regardless. As well as the firepower you provide, of course. Yes, let us continue to…observe the importance of forming good relations with fellow soldiers because it’s an important aspect of military life, Engel Mila, Gunner of Team Arizona.”

The titan bowed as well and extended a handshake for good measure, only to realize the mechanical gunner girl had already walked off towards her team captain. Scratching the back of his head, he let out a sigh, before striding back towards Fiore and Cellica.
“Nice work, you two,” he said, tone light and relaxed again, “Let’s get back to the Sergeant, eh? With a kill as big as that under our belts, surely she won’t chew us out too much?”

And, just like that, he lifted both of the girls up onto his armored shoulders, before marching towards the portal Subaru created.

"Uh...but...my store..."

Oh, who was he kidding. He could open the store tomorrow as well. Even if Allereun didn't totally understand what was going on with November, this was probably a once-in-a-lifetime oppurtunity regardless, being able to hold hands with and go on an excursion with a girl as devastatingly attractive as herself. So that's exactly what he did. Wiping whatever residual hand-sweat he could off his pants, the alchemist gently took the flaxen haired lady's hand into his own, before gesturing her to lead the way.
@AdmrlStalfos19I don't have any particular opinion on which three NPCs you go with, so if they're really all equal to you, just roll dice or something. Try to go at an angle of 'which relationships are most important to your character' and 'which relationships have the most dramatic value'.

As for encounters with the Lostman...for your character, it would be an encounter along the lines of either a mysterious phone call or the possession of someone in the same area as you. No one amongst the player cast would have laid eyes upon anything that one might think of as the 'actual form' of the Lostman. They would initiate the conversation with their question. Once you answer it, they will disappear. If you try to segue into a different topic, such as the patented 'answer a question with a question', they will remain silent. If you continue to do so, they will disappear.
No need to worry about redundant location ideas all that much. Tenoroshi's big enough to sustain multiple gyms and weirdos. And the equipment in a dojo and a Parkour gym are pretty different, so there's surprisingly little overlap outside of all the buff people inside it.
@AsurasTime to turn her into a mutant with twenty fingers per hand then.

@SavoI'm always available for brainstorming. Just busy till late-Thursday/early-Friday because loltermpaper. Anyways, CS seems basically fine so far. As for the whole locations/NPC help stuff...I'll tag @Canidae for this as well.

If your characters are into music, there could be something like a music artist (preferrably independent/self-produced) that they follow, or a live house that they go to concerts in often. A rival on the streets that butts heads or fists with could pan out fairly well too, just someone who doesn't like how they look or formed a grudge with them in a previous incident. With both of them missing fathers, perhaps they've found themselves a father figure in something else, whether it be a teacher, a boss, an older student, or literally just some old, jobless fart who smokes cigarettes and reads the news in a dingy part of town? I get the feeling that literally no one makes their characters flat-out ugly, so maybe they somehow found themselves in a relationship, or a friend with benefits? If punk biker dude does actual biking, surely there's a stretch of the road somewhere that he likes to ride hard down upon? And parkour's a fun hobby that can be pretty social, so maybe there's a parkour gym that Marc goes to?

Outside of that, you could consider stuff like restaurants that they really like to frequent, nightclubs that they sneak into, cram schools that they skip out on, coffeeshops they stop by occasionally for a change of pace, a cemetary that they frequent for spooky reasons, a local shrine they have pleasant memories in, a shopping mall that they do all their shopping in, or some public art piece that speaks to them on some level?

Hell, you could make their third NPC into a virtual idol that they're secretly a fan of, if you want to create some embarrassing relationships that never see the light of day.

@AdmrlStalfos19@Malice@banjoanjo@pr3acher@Cole@Headless I'll be closing sign ups by the end of Sunday. Get your CSes complete by then. I might be increasing the player cap slightly due to higher than expected interest, but I'll see what turns up on Judgment Day.
@AardWolf As a general note, the average height of a Japanese woman (full grown adult) is something like 5'2. Emu is well above average, in that case. To confirm, she didn't start working at a convenience store when she was 10, right? Outside of that though, there's a whole buncha stuff I can use there, so that's good. If you could touch up on the run-on sentences you have in the CS, that'd improve readability as well. Also, I'll be making the landlord a character as well, just so you're aware. Dude seems prominent enough to at least be named and all.

Can't wait to start figuring out how to build a reconciliation between Emu and her hot mom. ;3

@AsurasMotherfuckers with their missing dads and their dead moms. Did she ever do any hard drugs, by the way? Or did she distance herself from her group before things got too wild and edgy? Anyways, her life's inoffensive enough that I'm basically fine with it. Can't go without a convenience store in town, after all. When's she gonna see the light and start vaping?

@CanidaeIf you have trouble with getting pictures posted up, just upload the picture to imgur and use the link from there. I know that a buncha sites don't allow for hotlinking and all, so that's probably what the problem is. Drama with the old friends group's always useful though, and its definitely nice that Damien is both a guy AND a relatively social person. Sets up the contrast n all. Anyways, I'll wait till you finish up your backstory before thinking more about it. In regards to the final NPC, it's always fine to come up with enemies rather than family or friends.

And really, for locations, it doesn't need to be like, the top 3 places they frequent the most. I'd be pretty worried if the only place that a socialite punk biker goes to is a park, a street, and the parking lot of a restaurant. Where's his edgeeeeeeee.
@AardWolfOh, I see where you're going now. I'd say that if they're genuine about their current emotion, they'd still be painted in the relevant color, but she simply won't be able to interact with that color the way she can do so for more duplicitous individuals. So she doesn't get rekt when she walks into a room and everyone just happens to be wearing their heart on their sleeves.

@MaliceIn regards to affecting the deaths of others as a seer, I'd imagine that one could do so simply by, I dunno, stabbing them to accelerate their death or trying to save them right as their death approaches? One possible desire that could lead to seeing when people would die would be something like...your family has always had some shitty genetic disease or whatever, that no doctors can explain and that pops up suddenly and randomly. When you were a child, one of your parents died suddenly, and you feel super bad because you never even got a chance to say any last words due to the suddenness of their demise. Though you understood the inevitability of death, what you want is closure, the ability to ensure that you'd be at a beloved's deathbed before they expire. And thus, bleh blah blooh, you can now grasp when people die.

And yeah, the 'why' is probably pretty hard to figure out, but there's also no real reason for you to come into this with a 'why' already formulated. Some desires can come from events that occur within the IC, after all, and I sorta didn't actually expect everyone would want to head into the RP with a character that's already superpowered. You could just straight up make a character that has some reason for looking into the underside of Tenoroshi, and then, throughout the IC, have them sharpen their nebulous wants into something concrete enough for the Lostman to make something out of.
"I mean...not personally? There's always rumors, y'know?" Allereun waved vaguely. "But, well, nothing confirmed. And as for the person in charge..."

He couldn't back up any further at this point, pressed against the wall as he already was, and the mage had to crane his neck down to meet November eye to eye at this point. Damn, was this uncomfortable.

"Guess it'd be the taxcollector? Like, for this town, at least. I doubt any noble really cares about here."
