Suggestion: Forum Subscriptions

My suggestion is that we take the already present ability to subscribe to individual threads and apply that concept to entire forums. For example, if someone wanted to be notified of a new threads in one of the interest check forums they could go to that forum, hit the subscribe button, and be kept up to date on when new threads appear there.

Eh, I don't think it'd be needed. You can already keep an eye on the latest interest check section for anything new and/or look for yourself for any new threads that have [FRESH] next to their name, like this:

First things first: I will be giving @TGM some extra time to finish their sheet as they have spoken to me about the RP. But otherwise, welcome to the reviews!

@Lemons I have no pressing issues with your sheet. However, I do ask if you could resize her FC. As it stands now, her image is giant, even when I view her sheet on my PC. Also, just quick note: The USAF didn't exist in WW2, it was bundled in the Army as the USAAF. Not sure if you knew or it was a minor typo, but I figured since it's something important to your character I should probably point it out.

@BenG85 My main issue is that his personality section is barebones. Like, really barebones. Other than that, could you maybe find another blue that's more easier on the eyes? Always drives me insane because it doesn't contrast well with RPG and is difficult to make out. Maybe dodgerblue?

@Rekker No issues or concerns to report. I like what I see.

@Tally Dor Pretty basic character sheet, but there's nothing wrong with basic. My main issue would be the same with Ben's; to expand on the character traits some more.

Now, on to other matters. Since we only have 4 (not counting myself or TGM) character sheets, I will be accepting each and every one of you. Had we had more apps things would've been different, but I feel accepting all four sheets is best in the case people drop from the RP and we don't immediately find ourselves stonewalled by it in the RP.

ATTENTION: Deadline for sheets will be next week Friday by 11:59 PM CST for sheet review/approval that weekend and most likely start of the roleplay. Any sheets past that time will not be considered. I figured this would give people enough time to finish sheets with the holidays coming up, especially since I was slacking myself earlier with getting this thread up in the first place.

Persistent world suggestion...

We got star Wars... But why not make a Persistent world for all the fans of Smallville? Gilmore girls? Digimon? Dark Shadows? Starsky and Hutch? CSI: Original... Miami? NY? Law and Order? Hellboy? Some from those... Final Fantasy X?

Why not give those... their due? Sounds like a sound suggestion... doesn't it?

Well... we ignore the dead persistent world. And add other persistent worlds. Like the ones i mentioned once before. We just have to move forward. that's all.

The problem is finding a large enough group that a) is into those things and b) will actually stick around and not let it die. The Star Wars PW is the second of its kind (at least on neu-guild) and neither attempts were particularly successful in the long run. You could try, like Nutts said, with making a "PW" in the Advanced or even Nation RP sections, but given the history of PWs on the guild I think you'd be better off just keeping to regular old RPs if you do decide to try that route. It'll just end up bloating the sections with numerous threads for the same RP(s) if people are making a thread for every adventure, important meeting, etc. instead of in a dedicated section like the Star Wars PW was supposed to be for.

I hate to say it...

@Tlstiffl I've noticed a lull of activity for most of this year, but I wouldn't necessarily say the guild is dying. It's mainly because the main, more "hyperactive" core is getting older and doesn't have much time on their hands these days. Coupled with the fact that people are gravitating towards places like Discord (looking at you, RPGO, with all your shitposting) for RP and stuff, the guild probably seems a little empty, like how RPG OOCs are almost exclusively on Discord nowadays.

@POOHEAD189 Eh, not really. I regularly check the new members list and we typically have a small trickle of new members joining the site. Most tend to post a few times and disappear or not post at all on the site and disappear. That "big surge" of members you're talking about is largely a group of people that came to the guild together for their RP. Otherwise, it's a rarity to see large numbers like that join in one day/over the course of a few days.

@New Beginnings That would require Mahz (or maybe even Legend, as they're the two mods with coding exp off the top of my head) to work on coding a mobile app for the guild. Personally, I have my doubts that something like that would ever be made since the Guild isn't particularly known for getting new features or updates.

Though I also don't think we really need an app in the first place. Maybe a more mobile-friendly version of the site? Sure. App? Nah. The Guild's already pretty simplistic and easy to understand vs. other sites like RPN, Iwaku, etc.
