Break on through to the other side.

Break on through~

Break on through~

Break on through to the other side~!

The mind of a tank operator Bruiser was dominated by this looping chorus, the rest of the lyrics seemingly forgotten while her hands kept a white knuckled grip on the controls to keep the dinged King Tiger moving in a straight line. Its path was the shortest to the ensuing battle, though by no means the easiest as every few minutes the roof of the vehicle would be battered under a rain of debris from Broker running through a dilapidated wall or one story building. There wasn't a doubt in the operators mind that this wouldn't be causing some serious harm to her mount of choice, though knowing she was driving it towards the rear of an overwhelming force without any support of her own, Broker had no intention of getting through this with the King Tiger intact.

"Y'all snug back there?" She asked rhetorically, briefly casting her eyes back to look upon her ace in the hole, or more aptly, her many pocket aces. Nestled into every nook and cranny of the cockpit that Broker herself wasn't occupying or needed in order drive the tank, where a great many improvised explosive devices. Fashioned from the blasting caps of the tank's HE rounds, Broker had actually started converted them into bombs back during the brief civil war in the Black City in order to have a stockpile in her inventory for those times she needed a big finisher and was on foot. Once that mess was wrapped up, there was nothing stopping her from using the spoils of that conflict and the extra munitions laying around the Bruiser's workshops in order to stockpile a few dozen IEDs.

"I know, I know. Really hate to have to send you out to pasture, but it's not like we can expect to drive straight through their forces with any hope of getting the gate open." Broker said in a consolatory tone and gingerly stroking the throttle of the war machine, almost taking the rumble of its engine as a mournful wail towards their imminent parting. "You're going to go out with a bang and shred them with tank sized shrapnel. Doubtful we kill everyone with the blast, but if the Bruisers have two brain cells to rub together, they'll smash the Masks while they are disorganized...'course, considering our chronic lack of leadership in times of crisis, that may be hoping for too much."

Even Broker was starting to find it irksome how disorganized the supposed guild of commerce and crafting could be. Titania and Absinthe left everyone in the lurch last time something happened, and by all accounts Bel had only gotten more unreliable since then, to the point that recruitment numbers were dropping in correlation to her outbursts. Broker was all for cooperating with madmen and despots if it kept the gears of progress greased, but when everyone who should be holding the mantle of responsibility is absent and the onus falls upon he...

Her thoughts drifted to Retsu. A person she admired, yet seemed to have cast her aside wholesale after their infiltration of Chiyo's home. Perhaps she had her reasons, and the festival was certain to eat up most people's time.

"Grr, screw them. I'm done being the second string. Bust my ass and drop everything on the drop of hat when they need something, but no one can do their damned jobs when we need them. Why do I need to be subservient to Kings or they lieutenants when the shit is going to roll down hill once any pressure is on them?!"

Punctuating her frustration, Broker of Fortune squeezed down on the trigger and fired a round straight ahead of her, toppling a wall with a resounding blast of force and sound that would certainly alarm the ambushers in weight. It didn't matter if they heard her early or detected her later by the sound of the treads toppling stone and concrete.

"CC couldn't stop me, and I'll be damned if a bit of debris does either." She growled over the nose of a second report, further tunneling through the mess of the faded city to hasten her travel. While it didn't have as many HE rounds as it did IEDs sitting in the back, Broker wasn't concerned with saving herself any once she took to the battle field. That was what the canister rounds were for.

Warped Reality

Rufus could be said to be a person that prided themselves on fading into the background, assuming a man like him had any pride to begin with, but his DGO avatar one for putting on a grand display at the expense of his adversaries.

"Out of the dumpster and onto the stage." Warped remarked, face split like the Cheshire cat as he raked his gaze upon the army of Fanged Rangers, a sea of green speckled with flecks of white, throw themselves upon the walls painted scarlet and soon to be dyed a different shade of red. "Not a bad venue. Someone could make a killing selling pop corn up here, because the view is amazing!"

And indeed, the view from atop the Scarlet Harley's own battlements was breath taking, though for the defenders themselves the absence of breath was more likely from horror then any appreciation for the vista. This was no concern for the mage who had always possessed a deep love of elevated places, one that he may as well have been branded with given his name. Perhaps it was the sense of scale it offered as one gazes down onto the tiny, tiny world, or the shift in perspective as he contemplates his place and that of others within it.

But regardless of reasoning, Warped could say without a shadow of a doubt he wanted to share this view with someone who would appreciate it. Looking about on either side of the portal he used to walk from the field below to the highest crenellations of the wall, he quickly deduced that none of the Harleys would appreciate knowing an enemy was standing among them, so that only left the Rangers down below. They appeared as though a swarm of ants, indistinct in their grouping and difficult to discern who would be the best to open a portal onto the battlements for. It would only be open a minute at the most, so whoever was nearby could run in as well but that didn't leave a lot of time for people to see it, determine it was friendly, and decide to run through it.

However, before he decided to decided to open up his portal in the most densely packed area of Rangers, he caught sight of a lumbering golem that looked perfect to be dropped amidst the defenders. There may or may not have been a green smudge riding atop it, but Rufus didn't care to consider if they minded this or not. He pointed the tip of his staff down towards the earth beneath the Green King's mount and cast his Gateway ability. It would instantly fall through the oval portal as the ground gave way and would drop it, along with anyone who followed after the Green King within the next minute, to be instantly carried up onto the Harley's wall among the unsuspecting defenders.

"Heh, now this is what I call company!"

@TheWindel@KoL
Will post Wednesday or Thursday.
Yeah curses are definitely moe af, how else one of its user is named Tamamo no Moe? :^)

Indeed :3 Soon everyone is going to be sporting a special little love spot on their neck so Tamamo can jolt them when they disrespect her Master~

And even though she wasn't summoned, Elizabeth Bathory will still be electrocuted up on the Throne of Heroes, cause Tama knows how to hold a grudge.
Looks at Babylonia post... Well, good thing Tamamo didn't hit up Babylon. Powers of Diplomacy, GO!
@ADamnFiddle

Tamamo and Himiko are going to have a loooooooooooooong talk about Ravel's curses. Primarily on how to make them even nastier and more varied in their afflictions. Everyone will cower in the rooms from the ominious aura seeping past the closed door of their slumber party of evil!
@PKMNB0Y

You mentioned Green Goat twice.
Sorry for the wait. IRL had me tied up.

BTW, does Saber not notice that Lancelot isn't a Berserker this time, or am I misreading things?
Richard Montag - Babylonia

It struck Richard that he was about to receive a first hand account of a sorcery long thought impossible to achieve by the works of modern man, and here he was without the means to perceive or record what transpired with any more definition than the human eye offered. The thought occurred to him that he could endeavor to reinforce his ocular nerves, but just as quickly as it was thought he discarded the idea. Mysteries within mysteries was hardly a good idea when one didn't have the first inkling of an idea who this means of conveyance worked, and even if their was no risk involved, the mechanisms behind this were not likely to be the kind one perceives through the spectrum of light alone.

I suppose none of this amounts to anything if we don't succeed in our endeavors. Even Sorcery amounts to nil if no one is left to fathom its depths. The smartly dressed magi thought in a bemused fashion and followed in the footsteps of Keisuke to cross the threshold of time and space to land upon the sun kissed soil of a bygone era. He quickly removed his glasses as a bevy of sensory data assailed him.

It was as though stepping into an alien world, distinct from what they had just departed and hitting them with all the suddenness of escaping the summer heat by stepping into an air conditioned room. On a physical level there was an indescribable crispness to the air around them, undiluted from years of industrialization and filling Richard's lungs with each joyous breath. This didn't even begin to touch upon the prana radiating from the earth and buzzing about them in a wild abundance, a veritable bounty upon the world that was likely common place during the Age of Gods.

"Now if only we hadn't landed in such troubled times."

Donning his spectacles once more, Richard adjusted his gaze to take in the more immediate and physical details of their environment, finding they were confronted by the mundane and mystical in equal measure. Spearmen where something of a concern if he didn't keep his wits about him, as any Lancer would be quick to attest to their effectiveness in the hands of both peasant and hero alike. Luckily for the inhabitants, the time displaced magi and Servants had their eyes set for the temple mount and not invasion, or things could have been dicey.

"A-" He began to call for his servant only to let the word die on the tip of his tongue with the realization that calling out for an 'Assassin' while surrounded by paranoid soldiers could only spell disaster. Take up position two steps back and to the left of Keisuke, Richard followed suit in the pilgrimage to the ziggurats bowels whilst throwing his Servant a side long glance. "Partner, I'd rather we not leave a trail of deceased persons in our wake only to be greeted by an army when we endeavor to leave, so let's do as we do best and keep things...civil."

Tamamo No Mae - Scandinavia

The vulpine servant had expected to come upon a miserable land, and her expectations were quickly surpassed by the macabre battlefield they settled upon. Were her master not snugly ensconced against her tail and a proud native of the Baltic regions, she may have considered making some sign of her displeasure with the local.

She'd been within moments of offering to burn the many corpses littered around their feet to spare her beloved the sight of them when Seyrun directed her to demonstrate the greatness of her Master's Servant by rescuing the local hero from his perilous tryst with a possible Valkyrie. This was not the situation Tamamo had expected to be thrust upon her, but the Caster would be damned if she disappointed Seyrun straight from the get go.

"I'm deeply touched by your concern for me, Master, but I will not be felled so easily. If Yomi could not part me from your embrace, what hope does this Valkyrie have against us!?" Wisdom dictated that sending one of the knight's in to aid the swordsman would have been the wiser choice, though Tamamo was not one to be constrained by the logic of lesser Masters, like those who cowered behind their knight while spewing fire with reckless abandon. Nor was she the type to be usurped by a child's drawing made manifest, no matter how flawless the butler's form may have been.

Without need for incantation, the Aspect of the Sun Goddess molded her prana into a trio of rectangular slips of paper fanned outwards within the palm of her hand. These ofuda glowed with a dark scarlet aura which smoldered with an intensity befitting the labors of a Caster's magecraft.

"Sir Swordsman, my Master has declared you to be in the right at this hour, so brace yourself for my divine intervention and don't waste this generous opportunity!"

Tamamo took a step forward, her platform sandals coincidentally smashing the head of one of the stubborn deceased in a manner none too dissimilar to the butler's opening strike, and through the trio of magically charged paper to aid the swordsman. Her aim was unerring and beyond repute, sending them exactly wear Caster wished them to go.

The ground five feet behind Lancer, where they blossomed outwards in a marvelous display of fire and force to throw the Valkyrie forward onto the swordsman expectant sword.

Hopefully.

Margarita Reynard - Scandinavia

"Edaltaud. What a marvelous creation, Faust."

Margarita spoke, terse but honest in her praise of Caster's creation. What weariness she may have possessed in regards to the act of summoning demons was dispelled upon finding a dapper butler where she had envisioned a towering grotesque beast of scales, horns, and rippling muscle. Add to the fact they were presently surrounded by the Dead, a sadly common occurrence in her line of work, and there really wasn't any time for doubts.

The seasoned Enforcer drew out her muskets from beneath her traveling cloak, feeling a solid sense of surety wash over her as both barrels thrummed with collected prana. It was always something of a guilty pleasure to hear others in the business criticize such an ignoble choice of armament while they banded around their enchanted rings and assorted jewelry. They offered such little space to weave the magecraft and engrave runes, as opposed to the long barrel of a firearm whose insides could be blanketed in finely woven mysteries with greater density.

"Careful with your fire. The Dead may be burn, but it is not an instantaneous demise. If they grab you, you will surely burn along with them!" Margarita barked, not in the least bit interested to be caught in such a rancid conflagration. Seeing one of their number was shaken already- A state she wouldn't readily criticize given these were extraordinary circumstances- she left the corpses in her immediate area to the demon butler while she raised Fox & Hound at those around Walgrave. A firm squeeze of both triggers sent gray orbs of condensed Ether hurtling from the barrels and through the heads of the corpses closest to him.

His Servant likely would have sufficed in this matter, but assuaging the nerves of others would do well to keeping the group stable.

@VitaVitaAR @Beloss

As of now I'm officially going off on hiatus from War of the Three. Consider the initial lamia all impaled on the spikes while Suparna got locked out and went home. KoL and Windel have my notes on the challenge, but they can do as they like to tailor to their styles if they want. Don't know when I will come back, but for now I need a vacation from PvP.

Ciao.

Poor Eleonor, everyone just wants to force themselves on her, or outright reject being forced upon by her. If only she had a devoted maid who adored her for all her faults and would do anything to be with her...
