I'll be going on a two week vacation starting tomorrow and don't know how often I'll have Internet access. Thank you for your patience. I'll try to be more regular when I get back.

So I realize I could post, but I made the second-to-last post and didn't want this to just be a ping-pong between the GM and I.

Should I post anyways?
Vedika Venkatraman
"Perfection consists not in doing extraordinary things, but in doing ordinary things extraordinarily well."
-Angelique Arnauld

Age: 18

Appearance:
Vedika is 5'2" and weighs 130lbs. She has light-brown skin, hazel eyes, and shoulder-length brown hair.  Even when not smiling, her face appears cheerful, and when she does smile it's an innocent, dorky sort of smile.

Personality:
Vedika is energetic and friendly, always willing to go out of her way to help others. She has an independent spirit that falls just short of rebellion. She goes everywhere at top speed, parkours like a daredevil, and tends to use unorthodox openings as entrances. Though not bad at schoolwork, she tends to prioritize the needs of others, getting involved in other projects, often letting her grades slip, accepting punishments with a grin. She is straightforward and honest to a fault, and can become uncomfortably chummy, often acting unnecessarily like a big sister. Her life goal is simply to be helpful to others, and she pushes herself hard to achieve this. She sees her ability as the ultimate vehicle for her to become uniquely helpful and strives to perfect it.

History:
Some call her 'Vivi', sometimes she goes by 'Victory', Vedika Venkatraman is the daughter of an immigrant couple from India, come to America looking to eke out an opportunity. Her mother is a software engineer and her father is a stay-at-home dad taking care of her and her several younger siblings. As the eldest, she learned from her father the responsibilities of taking care of the household. At school, she defended herself, her younger siblings, and her friends from bullies. She was always known to be a scrappy little tomboy, climbing trees, climbing buildings, and getting into scuffles. One time when she was 13, a particularly nasty and racist bully got extremely aggressive and violent. Vedika's power manifested then. He was unable to harm her, and without knowing the other half of her power, she killed him in one punch. Soon the men in suits came and took her away. She doesn't know what they told her parents, maybe they thought she was in a juvenile detention facility. That's when she became a student at the school.

Vajra:
Vajra is the philosophical concept of absolute perfection: embodying the lightning, energy, pure in its instance and intensity and capable of destroying all other materials that would cross its path; embodying the diamond, clear, eternal and indestructible.  This is what Vedika has chosen to call her ability which centers around the vague concept of the manipulation of 'biological energy', though researchers on the phenomenon have also dubbed it as "Absolute Terror Field", "Hedgehog's Dilemma", "Self-Other Dichotomy", or "Lennard-Jones Potential". It essentially manifests as a form of martial art technique reminiscent of ancient mystical forms of 'chi' or 'chakra' control, granting Vedika an aura that allows her to wield two main abilities, Penetrating Strike, and Absolute Defense, and one secondary ability, Aura Transfer.

  • Penetrating Strike allows Vedika to transfer a part of her aura through physical contact to disrupt those of others, allowing her to bypass physical defense, allowing her strikes to resonate past barriers and cause internal damage.  This does not amplify her damage, it merely causes it to transfer towards the nearest and weakest parts of the body and concentrate there, so her strikes still need to be full-force and actually manage to hit.  For example, punches to the torso do mostly organ damage, while punches to the limbs mostly target the joints. Vedika needs to activate the ability consciously for each separate strike and has taught herself never to strike the head with this ability activated for fear of causing severe brain, eye, throat, or inner ear damage.
  • Absolute Defense allows her to solidify her own aura, creating a rejection of all external physical impacts. This ability is not 'always on' and must be activated and maintained with stability and concentration. Vedika must usually adopt a 'stance' to activate this ability.
  • Aura Transfer allows Vedika to transfer these techniques to others through physical contact, usually by placing her palms on the receiver's shoulders. She usually uses this to give others Absolute Defense to protect them from damage. Like Absolute Defense, Vedika usually must adopt a stable stance to use this ability, though the same is not required of her target.
  • It is hypothesized that at some point, Vedika will learn how to 'project' her aura, granting ranged 'energy blasts', though this has not yet been confirmed.

Some believe that the strength of her ability is tied to her strong sense of self coupled with her strong sense of altruism.  Stability is necessary for her ability to be at full power, this includes physical, mental, and emotional stability. Because of her ability, Vedika has never learned an actual fighting style, knowing how to throw maybe 3-4 basic types of punches, and even fewer types of kicks because she has never needed to get around someone's defenses. She doesn't really know any blocking techniques either as she has never needed to defend herself.

Okay so since I have heard nothing from teh creator I'll be adopting the RP. I need to write up an OOC opening post so expect that by this evening. Feel free to PM character sheets in the mean time.

Just FYI, I think @Mentions have a limit, (like 10 or something) so I'm going to do this:

Instead of flinching, closing his eyes, and ignorantly letting the mysterious, tremendous suction force do its work, Zhou Yu kept both eyes open. Though not the bravest of men, he knew he needed to absorb all the information he could get so he could get a better understanding of the rules of this world as well as the game Crocus was playing with them. Amazingly, all the enemies were sucked into the small handle. It reminded Zhou of Chinese folktales and certain magical weapons, like a magical gourd that could suck in enemies, imprison them, and dissolve them into water.

Then he heard Crocus' announcement, feeling a bit nonplussed that the magical metal gourd would probably only work the one time. Well, time to use that amazing strategic mind of his. Zhou set about looking for any unconscious trooper or officer bodies that had not gone into gourd, hoping to strip the down and disguise himself, Benny, and possibly the newly arrived Westerner (Captain Supremo). Disguising as enemy troops was a surprisingly common and surprisingly effective tactic in the war-torn era Zhou Yu came from.

While he searched (probably in vain), he saw the two officers observing them from above. Their uniforms would do for Benny and himself, besides this was a 'no witnesses' type of situation and that alarm couldn't be good news. He headed to the door looking for a 'button', saying smugly to his companions, "Here, let me. I learned how doors open in this world." His confidence dropped when he was unable to locate a button, instead seeing the console that slightly resembled the one Benny had used to fly the Falcon to safety. He doubted this console could be used to control the whole moon (Death Star) but it must be for something, since it was covered in 'buttons'. Zhou started pressing things randomly hoping to get a response.
Cassie gave Violet a nod of acknowledgement for erecting the forcefield that pretty much saved her from becoming a pancake.

Seeing Mako's attempt to cleave the Omnidroid with her katana, Cassie wanted to see if she could help her in that regard. Despite the sheer amount of noise being generated, Cassie was still able to 'hear' the sound of Mako's sword vibrating, reminding her of the 'cooking' attempt she made in the kitchen. Realizing that Mako was trying to superheat her katana through magnetic vibrations, Cassie helped with sound vibrations by switching her acoustic traps to match the sword's vibrations. Maybe it would help the blade slice into the robot's hard metal shell, or maybe the blade would shatter from the stress.
Count me interested.
As the droid began rolling at her, Cassie started to slightly panic. Still, it wasn't the worst thing that could happen. For one, it made it easier for her to lead it into her acoustic trap, which she started running towards. Then running the calculations in her head, she started firing her best estimate of the droid's resonant frequency at it. When it had entered her ring of harmonic amplifiers, she had them all play the same frequency, and though the sound itself could not be heard, its vibrations could be felt as a low rumble to all in the vicinity. Cassie hoped this would jostle loose something: screws, circuit boards, whatever. She knew from case files that the omnidroid's greatest enemy was itself, and the concept of applied destructive harmonics was essentially making a material destroy itself from the inside, so she hoped the principle applied here in the same way. Still if it kept rolling and didn't stay in the trap, damage would be minimal at best. And Cassie would become a pancake. She wasn't exactly the most mobile super.
"We've got to get inside and rescue the princess. Don't ask me how; I didn't watch this part."

"A princess?" Zhou Yu asked, "How peculiar." In Chinese culture, princesses did not hold the same kind of mystical allure as they did in Western cultures, although part of it was also due to the fact that Zhou was used to dealing with members of court.

He watched as Benny tried the gun again, this time actually doing something useful. "Amazing," he noted in awe, "perhaps I should try this handle again," he fidgeted with the lightsaber. Zhou Yu watched as Benny threw Bondi at a soldier, and ducked away in alarm as the stormtrooper's shot missed him. Deciding to take cover, Zhou pointed the handle out the door opening, pressing the switch, hoping it would launch globs of purple slime balls at the troopers, since Bondi's attack seemed to have been quite effective.
