@BingTheWing I hate to say it but I'm not sure how much I can ultimately get behind this idea? Much as I like it in concept, I'm not sure how I'd feel about Stark manufacturing symbiote tech that quickly. Peter's only had the thing for a month or so at the time my story starts, and Oscorp hadn't had it for too long before that -- that Stark would be able to throw something together that's beyond Spider-Man level power in that time is a little troubling to me, especially considering Sep's concerns. I'm not entirely opposed to the idea of a Miles Morales, but part of the problem is that I'm shooting for a fairly small, intimate Year One story, and having an expansive Spider-Family from the get-go might mess with that. Sorry.

As for @alexfangtalon and @CosmicComet on Silk, I'm fairly against the idea of Silk as it stands? Her origin is pretty inherently tied to Peter's and it feels weird to have so many Spider-people that prominent from the get-go, if that makes sense. Plus I don't really know how her origin would be modified to suit Spidey's new symbiote-based origin, so I think it might be better to shelve this idea for an few arcs, if that's no hassle.

Sorry to shoot you guys down, but the more I think about it the more specific my vision for Spider-Man is, I guess. Sorry!

Nothing, yet. Thawne's just starting out. Bart would either be involved later, and would come from a Barry-Allen timeline, or he'd come from a timeline where time has already set, and to him, Thawne was always The Flash. Either way, I wouldn't wanna involve him anytime soon. Max Mercury, Jesse Quick, or Quicksilver are all definitely on the table, though they would prolly rely on pretty hefty collaboration, if you're doing something traditional with them.

Edit; That's not to say that I don't think Thawne would benefit from a Kid Flash. I think he would. But I'd probably rather NPC-it, unless someone who's been playing in the RP for a while (when the time arrives.) wants to double up in characters and play KF.

@Hillan Right now I'm trying to determine if I need a speedster to replace Speed and if so who'd be the best candidate. Thinking on the timeline of events and the point in history you're using for Flash it wouldn't make sense to bring in Impulse for the YA. The story I'm going with for how they start is very similar to the actual story where instead Iron Lad gets trapped in the time and dimension we are using and gathers allies of anyone he thinks he can use/trust. So, unless Impulse came on his own he wouldn't be around to even be recruited.

I reserve my judgement on Young Avengers until a sheet happens, but given we have no mention of the Avengers in any accepted sheets I am under the belief that they have not been formed yet which kind've puts a damper on a YA group.

I can always use one of their other names if you need me to. The way I'm making their backstory isn't contingent on the Avengers having been a thing. I wanted to avoid that cause I honestly expected someone to apply for one of those characters so I came up with a backup plan.

This tale of a young Rachel Roth picks up some time after her fallout with members of the Titans. Up until their separation, she lived with the group in South Brother Island within the East River in New York. Their facility is disguised as a research center, but once you step inside, it's obvious that the location serves as a base of operations. Raven's separation from the Titans was a slow process, one which began with small, sporadic arguments and snowballed into fights up until they couldn't take any more of her and she couldn't take any more of them. The Titans clashed over a number of issues; primarily their emerging roles as young adults. The Titans' primary focus was shifting, and each individual member had their own goals and ambitions as well. With Raven's unstable emotions threatening to make her fall prey to the hold her father has on her, she thought it best to leave South Brother Island and never return.

Roughly a few days after her departure, Raven got in touch with her former colleagues. They reached an understanding and although their relationship isn't rock solid, there isn't any animosity among one another.

Rachel Roth is currently attending Columbia University seeking her PhD in Clinical Psychology. She hopes to get away from manipulating the emotions of others and instead, concentrate on working them through their problems, in turn finding a way to better cope with her own. Rachel has stepped back from the limelight since then, knowing that her father is locked away in another dimension and therefore she doesn't feel responsible for saving anymore lives.

My plan is to have Trigon escape, eventually forcing Raven to reach out to the Titans all the meanwhile struggling with the decision to rejoin them as a member once more and be at their mercy, or take a step back and only help out as needed. She will struggle with school, her finances, and possibly get in trouble with the law.

Rachel closed her eyes, and a cucumber was gently placed over each lid. She was face-up on the message table, a couple of white towels covering her chest and the area from just below her abdomen down to her thighs. The background music was extremely soothing, the playlist ranging from earthy, natural sounds such as rain and thunder to full instrumental pieces. She was lying there for a while before being startled by strong hands kneading the sole of her foot. Rachel heard a soft chuckle, obviously from the masseur down by the end of the table. She didn't pay him any mind, and instead she allowed herself to drift away.

"I'm sorry," he eventually said, switching to her other foot. Rachel became a tad annoyed, but she simply shrugged it off and told him not to worry.

"No, you don't understand, Raven. I'm sorry." His voice changed mid-statement, and on instinct Rachel clutched the towel and shot up, seeing her father towering over her within arm's reach. Rachel was speechless, but before she could react she was forced back down, arms by her side and a feeling of heavy weight on her chest as if she were being buried alive.

"You're not--"

Rachel was gasping for breath and couldn't get the words out in time. She was launched against the wall before painfully falling to the floor. It took her a moment to recover, but she eventually realized that she was in her bedroom, the scenery much different from the one a second ago. Rachel slowly sat up, the cold floor beneath her a sure sign she was in the right place. Her cat, Cody, slowly walked up to her more than likely seeking a good belly rub. She could have very well been mysteriously murdered in her own bedroom and them damn furball wouldn't have flinched.

"Do you even care about me?" Rachel said in a dry tone, petting Cody behind the ear. The cat purred for a moment before deciding to walk away. His temperament sure was a hard one to crack.

Rachel sat in silence for a moment, the scene replaying in her mind as if it were on a loop. It was the second time she had been through something similar, and her guess as to the meaning behind these "encounters" disturbed her far more than she was willing to admit. But Rachel had had enough for one night. She got up off the ground and returned to bed, deciding that she did not want to be sleep-deprived for another morning lecture.

Tony Stark is who he always was. A genius, and a bit of a playboy. Born into riches with the company his father, Howard Stark, founded. His father always recognised the natural ability that his son had for the sciences. Knew that he would surpass him one day. Tony attended all the best schools, narrowly avoiding being kicked out of several of them. Despite his genius level intellect he held a natural rebellious side against the authority figure, be it someone within the educational system or his own father. His vices changed as the times went by, when as a child he was rebellious in nature when it came to his work. Tony was said to possess a negative attitude, he would perform tasks without thinking about the consequences of his actions. A laid back attitude to his learning. Then the unthinkable happened.

Fifteen years old his father and mother left on a business trip, the plane crashed killing them both. Obidiah Stane, a longtime family friend and the second man in the company took on the role of being Tonys guardian and would run the company until Tony turned 21. At the age of twenty one the company would cede ownership to Tony who would then become CEO. As he continued through the ages his prowess with technology advanced, while not technically CEO of the company he worked in conjunction with the R&D department, focusing on electronics and computer systems he developed several key technologies that were later developed for use by S.H.I.E.L.D, the US Government, NATO and several other high end organisations. It was during this time that Tony created what would become one of his few true friends. J.A.R.V.I.S, also known as Just A Rather Very Intelligent System. J.A.R.V.I.S started simple, but over time he became more complex, being built into all of Tonys house, simpler versions of the system were trademarked and then released as a virtual assistant for business executives.

Age 21 Tony Stark became the CEO of Stark Industries. As he was destined to be. Working within the company Tony brought it forward into the next age, competing with the likes of Palmer Tech, LexCorp and Pym Industries. AS the new age of the Superhero dawned Tony moved forward with assisting the US Government and S.H.I.E.L.D develop properties to combat the rising Metahuman threat, while heroes are in existence Tony understands that precautions needed to take just incase that any of them decide to switch sides. Tony continued to increase his profits, focusing primarily on the weapons development side of Stark Industries. As time went on his fame grew, as well as his infamy at being a weapons dealer and profiting off it. It wasn’t until Tony performed a humanitarian mission in Qurac that his life changed. A terrorist group known as the Ten Rings was making a stand in the country. Unbeknownst to Tony, he had inadvertently assisted them recruit the local populace when mines he had supplied to a S.H.I.E.L.D humanitarian outpost exploded killing refugees, a flaw in the system that had been engineered by someone within Stark Industries. While in Qurac the S.H.I.E.L.D facility was attacked, Tony wounded by his own weapons and presumed dead.

For the next couple of months Tonys life was saved by a local doctor, though shrapnel in chest heart meant that a magnet needed placed in his chest in order to prevent it from entering his heart. Instead of building the weapon that he was being forced to build he instead ended up modifying various technologies of the weapons he had at hand into building what would become the MkI of the Iron Man Suit. Breaking free using the newly christened suit, he left the terrorists lair in flames before spending weeks on the run in Qurac until he eventually returned to the states.

Seeing the conflict, death and suffering he caused Tony shut down the Weapons R&D Department upon returning to his position as CEO. A vastly unpopular move, he had to fight tooth and nail with the board of directors to prove that it was a viable approach. All the while his weapons continued to show up on the black market. Iron Mans work was not done. Four years on Tony has continued to work as his alter ego Iron Man disrupting operations of the Ten Rings all over the world, however is still no closer to discovering the leak within Stark Industries or the elusive Mandarin who is said to lead the terrorist organisation.

Tony Stark isn’t quite the showboater that he is in the MCU. Iron Man is his alter ego, with Tony Stark being his secret identity. In his mind Iron Man is the true him, while Tony is the part he is playing. He performs many of the same things as perform, the parties and the drinking while his heart really isn’t in it anymore. He’s unsure of where to go, and in what direction. He’s going to be searching for the leak in the company and try to fathom what he is going to do next. There’s an adrenaline rush in being Iron Man, but once the Ten Rings is dealt with, does the world need an Iron Man?

Cold sweat dripped down Tonys forehead, skin pale and clammy. Sitting in the corner of his workshop he was staring at empty space before him. Rather the rational part of his brain realised it was an empty space, what he was seeing were bodies. Bodies of women and children, battered, bruised and torn apart by weapons he had designed. Weapons he had built to save people, to make the world a better place. Instead his grand designs had been perverted and twisted by the minds of madmen. There was a chirping, that slowly grew into a klaxon as the lights switched to red indicating an alert. Shaking himself awake he looked over to his workstation where a screen turned itself on. A map of the world opening, a red circle emanating from Central Russia. Standing up Tony could still feel the cold sweat dripping down his forehead, but he could already feel his heart rate increasing. Adrenaline flooding his system, the excitement of what he was about to do. The danger, the thrill.

“Jarvis, what am I looking at?”

The synthetic english accent came over speakers hidden among the workshops walls.

“You told me to alert you to any activity related to the Ten Rings sir. While I would remind you that you have an important meeting with Miss Potts and the board of directors in three hours.”

“I don’t pay you for your opinion Jarvis, what we got?”

“It appears that there is a rally going on to recruit people from outlying villages. I would also remind you that you don’t actually pay me Sir.” Tony walked to the table and read through the details on the map. Kazah. A relatively large city, semi-autonomous in the grand scheme of things. Apparently the Ten Rings felt like they could be a bit more vocal in Russia, not fearing involvement from the West or the mysterious ‘Iron Man’ that had been plaguing them for the last couple of years.

“Ready the suit Jarvis. I’m going on.” The back wall of the workshop spun around, revealing five columns. The first having what was left of his initial suit, each bay holding a slightly more updated and upgraded version. He walked to the one on the far right, the Mark five. He placed his hand on it, the metal cool to the touch. He could see himself reflected in the unpainted armour, the silver of the base material. Shaking his head he instead went for the red and yellow mark four. A smile crossing his face, a genuine smile. This is what he lived for, the rush.

“Jarvis, let Pepper know I’m probably going to be late.”

Barbara Gordon, daughter of the Police Commissioner, has always been a firm believer and supporter of the law but seeing how limited it was at times convinced her to go that extra step to bring criminals to justice. Inspired by the urban legend, The Batman, Barbara decided to become the Batgirl to fight crime and help the law. She has been doing this for a while now.

Barbara is currently a college student at Gotham University with an internship at Gotham City PD working on the tech side of things. While she has been moonlighting as Batgirl she does not know who Batman is and only when they find themselves on the same case have they ever met each other. As such a lot of her equipment is modified police gear and gadgets she has had to create herself or with help.

As more of a solo act and with a lot fewer resources to work with, Batgirl tends to focus mostly on cases that the police are currently working on since she can hack into those easily. Often times she wishes she could do more but between college, her internship, and being Batgirl she’s kind of swamped. At least since she is working in the ‘safe’ part of the police department so her father doesn’t get on her case too much.

I’ve always found batgirl to be an interesting and fun character to watch, but I feel like even the best editions really don’t do the character justice. Do to being Batgirl, a sidekick character, I never felt like she really got the character development and growth that she deserved. Usually reserved to a support role while I know there are solo comics for her I feel like they don’t really give her the stories she deserves.

So I want to explore her more as a person and put her in a more solo role. What I especially want to delve into is her relationship with her father and the police which gets complicated since her night activities are quite outside of the law. Basically I hope to mold her into a unique vigilante with her own story to tell.

Supporting Cast

Jim Gordon - The Police Commissioner of the GCPD and overprotective father. Jim Gordon has often lamented the fact that he has had so little time for Barbara because of his work and knowing the dangers involved has tried actively to discourage Barbara from following his footsteps. He is a bit annoyed that Barbara has interned at the GCPD but is at least thankful she is in a purely technical role. Barbara is kind of afraid he would have a heart attack if he knew about her night job.

Detective Harvey Bullock - A rough cop with few friends, Harvey is known for being especially rough and sometimes violent. While he does tend to get the job done, it is not always in a pleasant way. Barbara occasionally meets him both on and off the job but for the most part finds him quite disagreeable.

Renee Montoya - Somewhat of a rising star she has had the ill-fortune of being pared up with Harvey Bullock. As his partner she tries her best to back him up but has quite a few problems with his attitude and way of business. Frankly she is hoping to get a transfer soon.

Ellen Yin - A transfer from Metropolis, Ellen Yin is hoping to use her talents to help Gotham in it's constant war on crime. Gotham is a very different animal from Metropolis so it has been a bit difficult in making the transition. Still she is doing her best to be an asset to the team.

B a t G i r l

Barbara Gordon flopped down on her old bed, her long red hair spiraling out all over the pillow and sheets. She groaned into the pillow as if hoping it would smother out all her problems.

"Uugh, I feel like just drifting off to sleep and never waking up again and I haven't even been doing any night shifts recently." Barbara tried to roll over, but failed and just awkwardly squirmed for a bit even just letting all of her muscles relax. The familiar scent of her old pillow brought her comfort, it had been a while since she had properly been back home. Between her dorm room at Gotham University, the University itself, her times spent doing her internship at the GCPD, and the occasional stalking of the night, she rarely had time to come home.

Because of everything she had been working on recently she had been trying to cut back on her night hours and only going out when she had a lead to follow. Unlike a certain night owl she couldn't function on 4 or less hours of sleep a night, even with an overdose of caffeine, which she tried not to get too dependent on if she could help it. It had been almost a month since she had last gone out as Batgirl.

Suddenly she heard a knock on her door and a very familiar voice coming through. It was the voice that had helped get her through all the times in life she thought she couldn't make it through but did thanks to his help. Jim Gordon's rough but gentle voice filtered through.

"Barbara are you in there? Can I come in?"

Barbara forced herself to turn over onto her back so she could speak without getting drowned out by the pillow.

"Sure Dad, come on in." Barbara said, heard the doorknob click as Jim turned it and the grey haired commissioner walked in. "Guess it's been a while."

A smile came to Jim's face as he walked over and picked an unoccupied corner of Barbara's bed and took a seat, the old bedspring creaked a bit in protest as he put his full weight on it.

"I see the bed isn't the only old thing around here." Gordon joked then turned to look at his daughter. "You look tired Barbara, everything going alright at University?"

"Just a lot on my plate is all, a little rest and I'll be back into shape before you know it."

"You know you would have more time to yourself if you just dropped that internship." Barbara groaned as her dad once again tried to get her away from the GCPD, how dare he use logic to point out something she already knew.

"You know my answer to that dad, it's what I want to do and it's good experience too. You know how much I respect you dad and I want to help out." Jim sighed as he knew Barbara's stubborness was as strong as ever.

"Well maybe after this internship you'll realize just how dangerous this work is and will stay away." Jim commented while Barbara internally smiled but kept a straight face anyway. She knew just how dangerous a police man's work was, she had been on the front lines plenty of times after all. She knew how dangerous it was but that hadn't stopped her yet, though school just might if she let it.

"Not gonna happen. Still, thanks for checking in Dad, it's nice to see you away from the department."

"Nice to be away Barb, it really is. Say, how about we-" Gordon was about to suggest something they could do when his phone started to ring. He quickly picked it up and answered, as the conversation went his face got graver and grimmer. "Gordon here, so what's...I see, I'll be down right away. Sorry Barbara, guess we won't get time together after all, have a situation downtown. Love ya Barb, see you later." Jim reached over and kissed Barbara on the forehead, got up and left the room.

As soon as she was sure her father was gone Barbara groaned and leapt off the bed. "Guess rest will have to wait for now, about time to get back to my real work."

It was time for Batgirl to get to work.
