Name: Hajime Sakurazaki

Age: 16

Grade: 2nd Year, Mephisto's School for the Wickedly Inclined (or maybe Kiburi's).

Biography: Hajime was born to a Samurai Family with very few Gifted in its ranks, and he was not one of those few. Learning how to use a sword from an early age, Hajime knew that he was slated to be mere cannon fodder for the Emperor of Izumo, whom he learned to fear and revere in equal measure. But as he grew up, still powerless, he began to resent his position and his powerlessness, hoping against hope that he would be given a Gift, that the Gods would notice him and give him one.

But no one took notice of him, he continued to toil and fight for his hated liege until one day, he was forced to kill civilians, innocent people. When he cursed his commander for forcing him to do it, he was told to commit seppuku and make it extra painful. With no other choice, he prepared to do so, finally giving up on life.

Then, a Micro Mech suddenly leaped down on them; yes, a Micro Mech - A 4-meter tall humanoid machine of magical materials and advanced technology which had been stolen from Ryujinmaru Co., Izumo's official Arms Company. This mech was piloted by Akio Takaki, an Ungifted whose piloting skills nevertheless landed him a place in the Izumo Resistance, a group that fought against the 'Usurper Emperor' in the name of the 'Legitimate Branch' which still held out in Rhea. Akio defeated Hajime's commanding officer and his cronies, his mech beating their gifts, and then offered Hajime a ride back to the Resistance's lair.

And so, after a period of mutual mistrust, Hajime joined the Resistance as a Mech Pilot. His adventures were many and he blossomed as a person, making many friendships over the next year and a half. Then, he and Akio were captured by Ryujinmaru Co.'s security personnel as they tried to steal one of the company's latest mechs. What happened next to him and his mentor was... Painful. Very, very painful. Then Akio was publicly shot in the back of the head and he, due to his relative youth, was transported to an illegal mining camp to be worked to death digging out gemstones from the ground.

Six months later, on his sixteenth birthday, he was on the verge of death, his stamina finally giving out. Tears in his eyes as he lay dying, his overseers about to 'dispose' of him, he wished for power, he wished for his mentor back, he wished for a free Izumo, he wished for a mech, he wished for a Gift, he wished for strength, he wished for everything he had been denied in his short life... And gunshots rang, but it was the Resistance that came to rescue him, bringing with them a new machine; A crimson mech, Heaven's Wrath, which had been gifted to the Resistance by the Nitta Clan, loyalists to the 'Legitimate Emperor-in-Exile'.

Constructed using a mix of Magic and Science, Heaven's Wrath was given a crude form of intelligence and the ability to 'Phase Shift' into a pocket dimension (same as that used by the Narrativia family, but the Nitta Clan didn't know it). And the mind within the machine bonded quickly with Hajime, seeing in him some sort of kindred spirit. This turned out to be because Heaven's Wrath's AI was based on Akio's brain patterns.

And so Heaven's Wrath saved the boy, who had a new vehicle and powers like a Gift, but not really. And after escaping back to an Izumo Resistance base, he was given a mission for someone of his new potential: Find the Legitimate Emperor of Izumo, if he is still alive, even if he had to go to the foriegn City of Rhea to do it.

Hidden for Size

Core Power: Heaven's Wrath - Heaven's Wrath is a prototype Micro Mech meant to be used against Gifted opponents. Able to stay in a pocket dimension and hide as long as Hajime wills it to be, it can be made to expand to a five-meter tall mech that consumes all Magic which touches it, whether positive or negative; this consumption also makes it resistant to any mental effects hurled at its pilot (when in its cockpit) or its own barely-awake intelligence. Heaven's Wrath can also repair itself with the magic it siphons, and can extend this healing ability to its pilot as long as the latter is in his cockpit.

Drawbacks: The Micro Mech can be defeated with mundane force, including purely physical but advanced tech. Hit it hard enough with a blunt object and it can be destroyed and its pilot pummeled to submission. Also, its next three powers require it to be in its Mech Form. Oh, and it is only 4.51 meters tall.

First Power: Grasping Claw - As a Micro Mech, Heaven's Wrath can grab an enemy and drain the magic out of them while also cutting them with claws as sharp as a diamond.

Second Power: Mana Blast - Heaven's Wrath can blast an enemy with some of its drained magic, which in turn can melt down an apartment building at maximum power from up to half a football field away.

Drawback: Heavens Wrath has to use the same arm it uses for Grasping Claw to use Mana Blast, forcing it to choose between melee and ranged options but not both.

Third Power: Flight - And finally, Heaven's Wrath can fly, enough to perform high-speed maneuvers which can rival civilian stunt and air show planes while protecting its pilot from G-Forces and other environmental hazards like lack of oxygen.

Bio: Deuel was born into power and privilege, intensely educated while being given everything he wanted, taught that not only was he more important than others, but also that he was doing was more important. Confident in his immense, overwhelming talent (regardless of whether he really was that talented), he became leader of the Arianrhod Fleet early into his adulthood, married his arranged partner a few years later, then had a son, even as he scored several victories against pirates or would-be rebels.

The prestige and wealth of the Elion Family were rising to new heights, and Deuel was proud of his achievements, proud of his family, and above all, he loved his wife and son in ways he didn't expect. He was happy, and because of his happiness, he was oblivious to the jealousy of others and so his idyll ended.

On a vacation in Japan, now part of the Oceanian Federation, his wife, and his son were kidnapped by terrorists who should not have gotten so close to the surface in the first place. Deuel acted quickly to try and find them, but it was not quickly enough; his wife's corpse was found drifting in the sea while his son had been taken to a hidden laboratory where he was forcibly implanted with the forbidden Alaya-Vijaya System three times as a form of torture, a form of torture which would also make him a pariah in society and bring the Elion name into disrepute.

Deuel found this out when he rescued his child, and no amount of revenge on the terrorists changed the fact that his son was now 'defiled', 'tainted' through no fault of his own... And that it was most probable that another Seven Star Family had ordered this to undermine the Elion's pre-eminence. This was confirmed when he began getting threats of blackmail from, yes, another member of the Seven Stars, threats that recordings of his son being implanted with the AV would be released far and wide and his failure to save his own child shown to the world.

And he knew that there was no place for his son in this world anymore.

His next realization was that he will have to make one, even if he had to burn down the world to do it. The realization after that was that he was perfectly willing to do so.

But for now, he had to allow himself to be blackmailed, for now, he had to make the other Seven Star member believe that he was under their control. Then, when he had the chance, he would find a way to slip their trap and ensure the safety of his son; then he'd make them pay!

Mundane Skills: A skilled Mobile Suit Pilot who can also fly a Gundam without an Alaya-Vijaya System, Deuel is also a strategist and tactician of some note and also a potent manager and businessman who can keep his fleet fed and paid. And despite what happened to his son, he is still charismatic enough to keep the allegiance of the Arianhrod Fleet and maintain its strength, and despite the ugly rumors attached to it, grow its power all the more.

Personality: Deuel wants the injustice of the world which had 'marred' his son cut out and burnt, and to carve out a place where said son can live happily. This has made him sympathetic to those who are the victims of injustice as well, but only up to a point - He is still willing to shoot up striking/rioting workers in the Dorts if it serves his interests, which also includes collaborating with shady arms dealers and other monsters in human form... Even as he plans to burn them as well.

Mechwarrior: Disposable Heroes

Raven Rivers

Gone were most traces of psychotic rage as Raven Rivers approached Jonathan, stretched out his hand to shake, and said, "So, you're with us now; want to have a drink? We have Espian moonshine in the mess hall..."

As he trailed off, anyone listening in could recognize that Raven was clearly happy. Selfish and self-centered he might be at times, but even that had limits; right now, the Pilot wanted to remind everyone that he had a different side to him, that he was one of the founding members of the company for a reason. And that reason was the fact that when pushed to it, Raven Rivers can be sincerely charming, the sort of charm which came not from smooth words and honeyed tones, but rather from a fundamental need to see those he counts as friends happy. And right now, Jonathan was a friend or adjacent to one.

So Raven smiled and introduced himself, "Raven Rivers; Mechwarrior. Here's hoping to fight beside you in multiple battlefields in the future."

Short but sweet, gregarious but not overly so. Raven knew how to present himself in a friendly manner when he really wanted to, although of course, it was his intelligence - Which was still there - that had charmed his wife (and a dozen other men and women, but they were not as good for him as his wife). Then the man decided to reveal yet another reason why Jon might want to hang out with him and the other pilots, "We also have Simulators, by the way. Want us to do a mech combat spar?"

Pilgrim's Caravan: An Open-Ended Fantasy (with Worldbuilding!)

Rote looks much younger than his 28 years due to healing magic and potions being used to preserve his looks.

History:

Roter was born in the Principality of Meissen in the north of the Continent, a land of cool summers and warm winters, of fertile fields and bustling cities. His family were mercenaries born and bred, who uplifted themselves from commoner stock and learned to read, write, and finally, cast Magic as well as swords. Roter admired his father, his mother, and the life they had bought for him, and sought to follow in their footsteps, training as hard as he can to serve his mercenary company - He handled training swords, he stabled horses, and he learned how to protect himself with Magic when shields and armor alone won't do.

At eighteen, he was already an accomplished fighter, and the Captain of the mercenary company, Abel, gave him the Company's most prized weapon, the fiery blade 'Galatine'. This roused jealousy from the other members of the mercenary company, which was bad as the Principality had just hired them to help defend against one of the most powerful nations in the region, the Osttereich, which had invaded the Principality on some trumped-up excuse.

Thanks to a 'suggestion' by the second-in-command of the mercenary company, Roter and a detachment of new recruits were left to guard a mountain pass believed to be away from the Osttereich's main offensive - It was, but the enemy had enough forces to overwhelm said pass anyway; 1,500 men against Roter and 150 folk. Even then, the defenders were able to hold out for nearly a week until the starvation, thirst, and the overwhelming numbers of the enemy forced them to yield.

It was only the beginning of their nightmare.

Mercenaries were not protected by the laws of war, and Roter's Captain, as well as his parents, had also been killed elsewhere and most of the treasure which could be used to pay for their ransom was seized. So after a quick trial, Roter and the survivors of his detachment had everything taken away from them and 'indentured' to the highest bidder for ten years. Despite 'indentures' theoretically having some rights, this was still a painful scenario, considering the temprament of his 'employers'.

The next ten years were not to be discussed, except that his youthful appearance was preserved using healing magic and potions, and also that the war between Meissen and the Osterreich ended with a peace which returned to the status quo (with a few miles of land being ceded to the Osterreich). Nevertheless, once it was time for him to be freed, his last employer had a gift for him: Galatine returned, as well as the revelation that his former mercenary company was still roaming around under the previous second-in-command's leadership... And that the reason he had been captured was because of treachery.

Rather than seek revenge, Roter thanked the employer for not delaying his freedom and for giving him the gift, and promptly joined the Pilgrim's Caravan; realizing that at 28, he had spent a decade away from his former home and his ties with it had been burnt away...

Personality:

Roter wants to think he's a good person; maybe he still is, but what did he know? His experiences for the last ten years were best not talked about, a source of shame to him which he is tempted to drown out with alcohol and sleep, but he couldn't just lose himself in those; he didn't want to die yet. He just wants to be away from it all, to forget the loss of the life he once had, the death of his parents and his Captain, and the separation from his friends (sometimes due to them dying while indentured) due to the betrayal they all had suffered. However, despite his focus on his own pain and misery, Roter also has a brighter side; he is protective of children and despises cruelty in general, having had enough of that in the past ten years.

And while he does not over-indulge in alcohol, he is ready and eager to just chat and feast with the other members of the caravan.

Motivation:

Overcome his trauma and make a decision as to whether to seek revenge or not.

Skills, Strengths and Weaknesses, and Tools:

Skills and Strengths: An athletic man who is proficient in the use of shields and swords as well as maces, and able to bear the weight of armor. A good singer and bard who is well-read in history and metaphysical theory as well as philosophy. Not just that, but he knows first aid and anatomy and is generally knowledgeable in general.

Magic: Roter is proficient in conjuring and controlling flames up to a few meters' distance, and is resistant to hot temperatures due to both magical and mundane training. However, where he truly shines is 'White Magic', namely conjuring up barrriers of Holy Light which can cover up to six closely-packed folk and casting waves of healing energy (which also take the form of Holy Light) which heal those they touch.

Weaknesses: Aside from his trauma and current indecision, Roter has a well of paranoia due to not knowing if he'll be betrayed by the person he talks to. He is also bad at lying, although he can shade the truth or omit various details or convince himself of his own words if he really needed to. He also has a well of self-hate due to how he feels he betrayed the men and women under him by allowing them to be captured. And finally, despite all that, Roter is easily taken in by a pretty face (both male or female) and the promise of romance and a shoulder to cry on...

Galatine - A blade of Starmetal and Mythril which glows brightly when drawn, and allows Roter to send out waves of fiery energy which can burn through metal or waves of healing energy which can close the wounds and replenish the blood of a dozen people at once.
