The Justice League had been active for several years. Their membership included Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (Alan Scott), and Robot Man. Most of them were already in their 40's, Batman was rumored to be in his 50's. The team took down threats such as Brainiac, the rogue General Eiling, Solomon Grundy and an army of the undead, a Thanagarian Cult, and dozens of others. One year ago the Justice League extended its reach and took in several new heroes to form the Justice League Unlimited. Over the course of the first several weeks the League learned about the existence of a similar group, composed of super criminals, calling themselves the Society and brought together by the devious Lex Luthor Jr.

Founding Five Justice Leaguers

Superman - He's the first superhero. The reason it's even called a super-hero. His career seemingly began in the 1970's, however reports indicate he may have been active as far back as WWII. Same basic powers of Superman. He makes everybody in the room wanna stand a little bit taller. A big blue boyscout to this day, he has a line he'll never cross and ALWAYS finds another way. He's pretty much the big gun of the metahuman/alien archetypes. He's only been Clark Kent the last twenty-five years or so of his life on Earth. He obviously ages slower in the universe than past incarnations. Recently killed fighting the monstrous Doomsday. - Deceased

Batman - Same billionaire playboy philanthropist, his career just began in the late 90's and has lasted nearly two decades. He is to the gadgeteers and standard human heroes what Superman is to metas and aliens. The big gun. Basically picture Ben Afleck's Batman here just with more gray hair. Like gray haired Bruce in the veeeery first episode of Batman Beyond. Currently Bruce has donned an exo-suit similar to the Beyond/Batwing suits and is training a younger generation of heroes called Titans in San Francisco. - Active Mentor

Green Lantern - Alan Scott is the resident GL, and the ONLY GL in this universe. I'm staying away from the GLC and all the rainbow brigade Corps. His career stretches over the last decade or so and a few years back he absorbed the energies of his magic ring internalizing his power. He's the big gun of the supernatural/magic archetypes. He was based in Gotham and mostly patrolled during the day when Batman wasn't being Batman. Green Lantern retired after finding out his reformed enemy turned fiancée Thorn was pregnant with twins. Moved upstate to Jump City. - Semi-Retired/Reserve

Robotman - Cliff Steele was once a racecar driver and adrenaline junkie. He jumped out of planes, served two years in the military, and was even a bouncer on a cruise ship for several months. It was to no surprise to anyone when he finally went too far and crashed an experimental NHRA racing car. His body was near completely destroyed, which is when his friends at STAR Labs Dr. Niles Caulder and Silas Stone put his brain into the body of a machine. Still ever the enthusiast he decided superheroics were in his future and took the alias Robotman [he wasn't very original]. He was a hero of Midway for several years before joining the other founding five in the Justice League. - Active Mentor

Wonder Woman - Princess Diana as well as many other young Amazons lost to the dark skinned Naomi when a contest was held to send a champion out into man's world. Naomi was christened the 'Eagle of the Amazons' but at some point during her early career in WWII she was dubbed Wonder Woman by the papers in Europe. She was one of only a dozen or so active superhumans fighting for the allies before they were shut down by the governments for various reasons. She joined Batman and Superman originally forming a superhero trinity in the early 2000's before also teaming with Robotman and Green Lantern to form the JL. - Active Mentor

Present day the world is full of heroes. After the death of Superman seven months ago at the hands of the monstrous creature called Doomsday criminal activity has gone up in several countries around the world. After completing an exo-suit to compensate for the beatings his body had taken the last twenty years, Batman worked with the League in training younger metahumans and such. While the League is operated in Metropolis by Wonder Woman and Robotman, Batman trains the group he’s come to call Titans in San Francisco. Green Lantern is on reserve status with a wife pregnant with twins on the way in the next two to three months, living upstate now about an hour away from Gotham in Jump City. There are several active members of the JLU as well as reserve members on call. Dozens of other costumed individuals have made themselves known over the course of the last year outside of the JLU. Central City, Coast City, Jump City, Star City, Hub City, Bludhaven, New York, San Francisco, and Midway City in America as well as Tokyo, Hong Kong, London, and the small country of Khandaq all have had dozens of reports of superhuman criminal activity with few people standing up to fight.

If it isn’t obvious yet this is meant to be more of a sandbox style role-play with smaller groups already somewhat pre-established as well as a little continuity so we have something to go on. The Justice League Unlimited from games past is still somewhat cannon to a degree with Superman still being dead and the JLU only being active for roughly a year. Batman hasn’t been replaced by a shapeshifting alien though, and instead has an exo-suit similar to the Batman Beyond/Batwing suits. He’s also training a team of 16-24 year olds he dubbed the ‘Titans’ in San Fransisco. So similar to a MMORPG we have the more ‘social’ cities with more players in Metropolis and Gotham because of the importance of the two cities, as well as people doing their own thing elsewhere.

Generally I try and keep contact and collaborate on posts with other players and the Co-GM’s on piratepads as well as Discord more recently so I'll likely throw up links for the Piratepad once this gets to the starting line [WXer linked you all to the Discord]. If you don't like collaborating with others, have diva like tendencies, or generally are disrespectful on the regular... this isn't the game for you. If you're known for writing up killer character sheets then never doing anything in-game... this isn't the game for you. Serious commitment is what I'm looking for, since currently this is the only RP I'm focusing my time on. I'm not saying nobody else can have a life or be in other RP's, just don't forget about this RP. Respect other players and respect the game and everything will be peachy. Or some other type of fruity awesomeness.

To all potential players looking to get in on this, know that villains aren't currently being accepted into the cast and there's only so much room for anti-heroes. In this universe there are no other Lanterns and there were never any Robins. Day Job:
Since becoming the host for the Beast entity, Mike rarely removes the mask as the Beast is more in control. Sorta like the helmet of Dr. Fate in the YJ cartoon series.

Powers:
The Mask of the Beast gives the wearer various supernatural based powers and abilities. The body almost doubles in size and possesses the strength and speed of the strongest and fastest animals in Africa [ 10 tons, 75 mph]. It grants the ability to summon and control wildlife telepathically, as well as the ability to fuse two to four animals together to form a chimera. This can include humans as well as himself with great concentration. All fused beasts have a limited duration and separate unharmed in time. The Mask also provides the wearer a limited amount of durability and healing, also magic based.

Weaknesses:
He isn't the strongest guy on the block and can be overpowered. If an enemy manages to remove the Mask of the Beast all of Mike's powers are gone and he's just a normal guy. As his power is magic based, magic can also have varying effects on him. While Mike has magic based durability and healing, if a stronger opponent dropped a skyscraper on him he'd be dead, but the mask would remain....

Skills:
Beast is an excellent tracker and is formidable in stealth despite his size.

BRIEF Bio:

Mike Maxwell traveled to Africa to do volunteer work at a new animal preserve. However, the plane crashed killing everyone but Maxwell. Finding shelter in a cave somewhere near mount Kilimanjaro, Mike stumbled upon a large mask with a mane of fur. When the winds blew through the cave, Mike decided to put the mask on hoping the fur would protect him from the weather. His life would forever be changed when the Beast used his body as a host to defend the new animal shelter from those who would see it destroyed and forgotten. In time the JLU would be called to investigate the 'jungle monster'. After their encounter the Beast was offered JLU membership and accepted. In reality the League wanted to keep an eye on the monster of a man due to his incredible supernatural power, much in the same way the Avengers use the Hulk. They don't just want him as a member, they want to keep his power in check.

Bugs and animals. Lots of them.

Secondary Character:
Bulletproof, something of a reinvention of Marvel's Luke Cage. A 19 year old white kid with invulnerability and limited strength. Likely among the Titans after I get 5 posts deep.

@Dead Cruiser and @Grec Anarky and Nightshade both appear to be more villains than traditional DC heroes or anti-heroes. I don't plan on getting into villains as characters just yet, but if this is the type of character you want you'll have to wait until we decide if this type of character can work into the game with 20+ heroes, as well as others choosing to play as a secondary character.

@rocketrobie2 Slipstream is exactly the kind of character I hoped to see in Gotham. Might wanna change up bits of the CS now though since the Titans won't be based in Gotham. Accepted all the same!

@Shellshock I think I mentioned it in the PM, but I'd much rather have Cyborg or Fate as a character in this than another person trying to pull off a Robin. Tim as Red Robin was one of my favorite eras of the comics, but I just don't want two or three Robins running around Gotham when Batman will still mostly be dealing with the Titans in either Jump City or the west coast.

Active JLU or Active Titans just means that you're on those team rosters full time and are mainly here to do team based missions as apposed to solo or smaller team-up story arcs.

@NinaDivine Just remember there's no Lanterns available in this universe as there's only one GL and no Corps of any color.

As for everyone else, I passed out super early and while I saw a few more CS's to go over I just haven't got to them yet. Tomorrow is my last work day till next Tuesday so hopefully I can get everything sorted by the weekend. Now to the business...

The Titans of Gotham was always sort of it's own beast. Since more of you were expecting a more standard form of Titans, we'll be moving them somewhere else. I suggest moving them either out west, or to Jump City.

I'd also like it if you guys could stop posting secondary character sheets. Anything I see labeled as such is just getting skipped over because right now I just wanted to focus on Primaries. It's been a long week, thank you all for your enthusiasm and continued interests!

Nobody has. I almost went with a timelost Ultra Boy for this. So glad somebody's still interested in the LoSH characters...

I was going to write it off like a handful of Legion members would be trapped in the past cause Superman isn't alive and able to help them return. UB was gonna be given a new alias and become a Titan before I decided on B'Wana Beast.
