Did you know that Dante's inferno is called a divine comedy because things work out for the protagonist? Back in the day, the only two genres were comedy and drama. The only difference was that in a comedy, the protagonist is better off at the end, and a drama is the opposite. So that's why a story about going through hell can still be considered a comedy, even if it's not funny.

Name:
Broken Promise, BP, Boss

Age:
Old enough to know better, too young to care. (that is to say 30's)

Preferred RPs:
I Prefer to make my own, but will occasionally join something if it looks interesting. I'll join just about anything so long as it isn’t overly edgy/sweet, though it's rare for me to do. I don't do 1x1s too often either.

Preferred Roles:
I tend to play adorable characters everyone wants to befriend or proper assholes everyone wants to stay away from. I try not to play moral paragons or prime evils.

RP Conquests:
I've completed quite a few RP's off site, but most of them are on private forums or have simply been lost to the ravages of server crashes. As for stuff here, I'm sure everyone who sees me post in the off topic sections has seen me find an excuse to talk about Danganronpa: Tower of Carnage. It's a project that took over 4 years to complete and I feel pride not only for myself but all the wonderful people who helped make it enjoyable during its run. Re: Zero: The High Council Is technically my first, but it was just something I kind of took over and ended up ending the story after just six months. It finished, but eh...

Last RP I finished was Symphony of Espers which turned out pretty good.

RP's in progress:
For some reason I can't seem to stay away from Ari's magical girl RP, even if I'm not sure why I'm still in it.

As for my own projects, I'm doing Symphony on High to continue the gigachad adventures of the espers in Pax Septimus.

RP Graveyard:
I've been pretty fortunate on this forum. I think I joined one when I first came on the site that didn't really do anything, and there are a few 1x1 things that didn't go anywhere. It's disappointing when an RP ends before it can be finished, but I've come to look at them as learning experiences.

And then there's that london magical girl RP, and that dark magical girl RP. I think I'm done joining magical girl RPs for a while.

Other interests:
Videos
I watch a lot of educational videos on youtube. Usually as research for something I’m writing or purely because a topic interests me. I like channels like Tier Zoo and Daryl Talks Games, and I’ll also watch things like Critical Drinker or Literature Devil to deepen my understanding of story telling. Though I also like memes and jokes, to which I’ll find myself watching stuff like Sseth, but usually find myself surfing through meme videos. I gotta work on that.

Games
I have a rather long history of playing virtually every platformer to come into existence during the indie boom, as well as quite a few other indie games. I’ve played Meatboy, Binding of Issac, Gunvolt, Cuphead, Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt, Classic Metroid, Warcraft 3, Final Fantasy 7,8, and 14, Left 4 Dead, Shantae, Celeste, Danganronpa, God Eater, the list goes on. What I’ve played is kind of all over the place. I don’t play many games these days, I tend to pick things that look interesting and go on a decent steam sale.

Painting Minis
I do this in moderation. Otherwise, it's a pretty expensive hobby to start...

Music
I listen to everything, save most country/rap songs. I have too many favorites to name.

Personality:
Not one to take life or the internet too seriously. Is only serious about writing well and having a good time.

People to Insult:
Dalton is a Dingus.

I want that guild bod all the sexy posters have.

What do I eat? what should my exercise regimen be? Roughly how much of my time should be spent gaming and how much looking at memes?
Probably because bitching about people out in the open creates a lot of drama itself and is highly discouraged by the staff.

Such a thread existed, it was locked.
The reason why I don't create muti-RP characters (and I suspect others do this as well) is because crossover/multiverse RPs don't do anything for me. My characters always feel like an original work to me when they are in the world they belong in. once they start crossing over into different worlds, things start to feel like a fan fiction. I also find that most of the people who still do that style of roleplay are often more interested in their characters than anything else that's going on. Everything just sort of becomes a matter of "what will this do for my character in the end?" But if you can find the right people, maybe such a beast could work. Whatever floats your boats I guess.

Continued, the community you are speaking to and about here on the Roleplayer Guild tends to have a great number of factors in play that work against the proposal of something more mechanical in nature, among the others noted earlier.

I'm not sure how you derived "layered mechanics and systems" from my once sentence response on power scales. That is exactly the opposite of how I'd handle things.

I think the main problem with yee olde characters like that is that it's nearly impossible to find a setting where they really fit along side other characters. mutliverse worlds make such a thing easier, but that has its own problems. Power scales tend to be a problem regardless of what you do.
"I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom I can tell you I don't have money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career."
After some thought on the matter, I've decided to replace the co-GM with @Zelosse, who's been interested in the position for a while now. If I'm not online (or even if I am) you can feel free to talk to him. He's a great GM, and I'm sure he'll fill in nicely here as well.

Alright fam, I'm pretty sure everyone saw this post with me gushing posted just a few hours ago. Read it if you haven't. I don't hand out praise very often, and lord knows you deserve it.

Read it? Good. Now I'm going to catch everyone up to speed on the state of the RP.

When this RP started, it had about ten players and seventeen characters. Somehow, we wound up with close to fifteen players by the start of last year, and now we're hanging on with fewer people. Hard to say how many because some are busy/quiet. Trying to get the RP to last a lot longer would be a mistake, I think. Interests wane and I'm not willing to gamble that the next year will bring more players. We're three trials in now and the RP is half over. Nobody new is going to want to join. Fortunately, ending before the year is very doable. Here's the game plan.

First we're going to get done with the NoC. This is going to be a short one, and I hope it won't last any longer than one or two months tops. The blackened hasn't been very active recently, but that should be more than enough time to finish things up. I'd rather run things without them than drag things out for the first quarter of the year. The fifth chapter is going to be our shortest one. I won't say too much about it for obvious reasons, but the case is already done. So I'll be pushing to start the case as soon as possible. Then we start chapter six. As per the norm, this case is going to be entirely about uncovering what the world is. The case isn't done, but it should just take me a week or so to compile everything and run with it. Accounting for a few problems here and there, we should be done by June-July. Missing this deadline is not the end of the world, but every month after July will really slow things down, and we risk losing players due to collage/etc until January comes around again.

To make a long story short, things are going to be happening, and they are going to happen fast. No one likes to be rushed, but taking a hiatus is no longer an attractive option. If this new pace is something you're going to struggle with, please contact me. I'm sure we can make things work for you. For the moment though, I'd just like to see people posting again now that the new year has arrived.

There will be setbacks, but it's nothing any of us haven't shouldered before. I know we're all here for the long haul.

You meet a lot of people roleplaying, and some of them you come to appreciate for more than just Rping with you. That's what the two people here are.

@Zelosse Playing heroes of the storm with you is a blast, and I'm sure your personality and voice would be great if you ever wanted to get into streaming. You're an all around great guy to chat with, and I'd love to Co-GM an RP with you down the road. Once I've finished up a few of my own projects of course. Just leave a spot open for me.

@TheSeriousJoke Rebooting an RP is not something that anyone wants to do, but it does show the determination of the GM running the thing. Part of me wishes I had stuck around, but it seems like things worked out for both of us. As someone who's completed 3 cases on their own Danganronpa RP, I can appreciate the amount of planning that goes into a murder mystery RP like that. I wish you well, and I'm always open to talking with fellow murder mystery fans.

The forums only allow so many notifications per post, so moving on...

@Crusader Lord I think it's going to be a while before Annabelle tops what she did at the stadium. You know things are good when even the Gms don't know what the hell is going on. I also like the thing that she's got going on with Regina. Now, some of the other players might think I'm playing favorites because you want to waifu one of my characters. But that's a lie, I'm not like that. I am EXACTLY that.

@DarkwolfX37 If your goal in the RP was to create characters with absolutely infuriating powers that cause the discord to erupt into anger every time you post and call out bullshit until a GM logs on and decides that the post is mostly fine and that very few if any edits have to be made all while the other half of the discord is taking notes and trying to think up counter strategies than well sir, you are doing one hell of a fine job. You really need to post more though.

@FamishedPants We're in three roleplays together, we play vidaya gaymes, and we're comfortable enough with each other that we can diss each other IC and OOCly without hurting the other one's feelings. I don't really think gushing is necessary at this point. But let me say that the direction Sil took Veronica's idea in was both totally unexpected and will always bring a smile to my face. You need to break your video game addiction and post though.

@MadManMoon I don't think anyone can accuse you of slacking off in the plot department. At least as far as your own plots are concerned. I don't like everything you write, but even so, I can appreciate the amount of ambition it takes to create stuff like that. Once you get a bit more settled into the RP, I'm sure the fears are going to become big players. But you need to post more, my dude. You're starting to become comparable to Vocab.

@Vocab AND SPEAKING OF! I can see why you and Moon show each other so much love in discord. You're both very serious about your supah secret organizations, and have clearly put a lot of thought into them. But it's not how big your ideas are, it's having the ambition to complete them. I want to see what the Penrose Independent is all about, their end game, and all of their henchmen. I want to hear their stories, and understand their antics. Stop teasing me.

@Ariamis There are very few Rps I walk into where I'm not “the boss,” and this is primarily because the vast majority of Gms that I see can't do their jobs with anywhere nears the same level of competence as I can. But from time to time I do encounter such Rps, and yours is one of them. There's a lot to be said for a GM who's always willing to listen, keep their cool, and ride out anything even his craziest players throw at them. I see such qualities in you, which is why most of us are still posting. But I would like you to post soon so that I can get something up.

I haven't been with Accidental Magical Girls/Lunacy of love/Through the Looking Glass for it's entirety, but everyone's been treating me great since June of last year. Vets and new people alike. You know you've invested too much time into an RP when the GM decides to add you to the moderation staff, but I honestly can't help myself. I don't often find myself enjoying other people's Rps quite as much as this one. And I have been in some magical girl Rps that simply weren't for me. Only conclusion I can make is that I must like the people and their characters.

@Card Captor We the Gms are not joking when we say Alexander is best boy. I mean sure, it's a magical GIRL rp, so I can understand why some would consider the title sarcastic. But he is honestly my favorite lad in the RP. I wish I had more chances to interact with him (and you!) but Alexander does not seem to like any of my characters. Sad face.

@Shifter_Master I remember when you temporarily left. That kinda hurt bro. About once a week I would open my Pms and consider harassing you to join the RP again. But I figured you had your reasons. Fortunately, you did end up joining us again. I'd say something about Penny, but everyone in the discord seems interested in waifuing her. I won't let your ego get any bigger!

@PlatinumSkink Do I even need to tell you why I think you're an osm writer? Of all the things I've writen on this forum, I'm constantly trying to recreate something that feels something like that Mariette/Amber fight. But regardless of what I try, I just can't top the duel between the plucky pirate and her bunny toting nemesis. Should our characters clash in the future, I'm sure it will be spectacular.

@Flamelord I'm a bit bummed that you don't hang out in the discord server anymore, but I guess this works for you. Alicia Hayden is one of my favorite characters, and it's not just because of the socks. Though I'll admit it's definitely a bonus. With the last rp being 95% fights, I was really happy that Elroy had a chance to talk to someone as a (momentary) non-combatant. Alicia's best moments seems to be when she's not shooting her bow at things, like during the trial when she saved that treacherous pirate killer her friend, and possibly this interrogation between Sammy and Binky.

@Majoras End You really need to post more often. See, you might not think you're very good at writing, but I can tell how hard you're trying, and I do notice the improvements you make. Regardless of writing level, it's extremely refreshing to have someone In the RP who's goal isn't to look like a suprime bad ass all the time. Throwing a magical girl at another magical girl with dismal strength? Punning around after getting transformed into a frog? Gold, all of it.

@Rune_Alchemist All this gushing would instantly fall apart if it wasn't honest. So I'm not going to shower you with praise for a bit that didn't grab me. Totally not jealous the THOT doesn't want me, I swear. Being serious now, if the relationships you're forging with other characters is any indication, it's clear everyone else is enjoying your characters. Moth waifu when? Already picked out a lamp for her.

@t2wave You really need to post more So that I can have my revenge So that I have more things to say about your contributions to the RP. There's no doubt that some really cool stuff wouldn't have happened if you were never a part of the old RP cast. Justine's plans would have been a lot less interesting if it solely relied on PlatinumSkink's resources. I look folward to Janet's return.

@Erode You're a new addition that hasn't had a lot of time to really blossom. Did you like my rose pun lololz! But yes, I will say I mostly like Amaryllis. I do think her character is interesting in that her transformation effects her confidence much like she-hulk. I'm not sure if you consider this a positive or a negative, but of everyone's posts yours have the highest chance of getting me to crack open a dictionary.
