Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

@HereComesTheSnow: Ah, missed this.

Yes. Velt is a kind of fantasy Germany, Ithillin is inspired by France(with the regions the hundi come from leaning to Southern France or even Spain), and Velt is more British.
@Krayzikk: Accepted!
@Krayzikk: It's been about five years.
@Krayzikk: I'm happy to answer any questions you might have. ^_^
@Krayzikk: There definitely is! It's fairly easy to insert yourself into the story right now, too.
"Er... yes yes... er... wait my stomach? Why... er..."

Lila trailed off for a few moments. That was an awful lot of questions at once, and while the answer to most of them was an affirmative, it was still a bit difficult to keep up with. Besides, she had a demonstration to conduct!

Rather then going through every point in detail, the dragongirl decided that was a better avenue.

"So... so I'll demonstrate a game for you!" declared Lila, taking a deep breath. "To begin with..."

In a somewhat comical puff of smoke, a sheet of paper seemed to appear. On it, somehow in a language every single present indificual could understand, was the basic terms laid out for a game.

"Normally, all participants would put something up for their opponents to win as a prize," she continued, her tail swishing back and forth as she did, "But since this is a demonstration there won't be any wagers!"

She presented the contract to all present, before waiting for them to sign via a pen that had appeared with the sheet of paper. The terms were very simple, to abide by the game's rules as dictated and laying out disqualification criteria, which were in this case any violations of the rules.

"Once everyone has signed..."

A deck of cards appeared in the dragongirl's hands. She tossed them back and forth to herself, a table seeming to rise from the earth in front of her as well.

"Everyone, draw a card from this deck, and memorize it. Once you have, I'll lay the cards out face down, and you'll have to pick out which one was yours."

The tan-skinned girl winked.

"No peeking~!"

Konpaku Youmu

Beyond the door back into Gensokyo...

Youmu had to admit, even considering the situation, that her surroundings were a little more relaxing now. Hakugyokurou's kitchen was a familiar place for her, the oven and pans all frequent places of residence for her given just how hungry her mistress was. Yuyuko-sama wasn't immediately present, however... Ah, she hadn't even thought about it, but it had been quite some time she had been gone without reporting in. At least this was a good opportunity-

Saigyouji Yuyuko's head appeared from around the corner exit of the kitchen. She was a beautiful, rather voluptuous young woman with pink hair.

"Oh, Youmu-chan!" she said, cheerfully, "You're already back?"

"A... already?" Youmu was perplexed, her phantom half wavering from side to side, "But Yuyuko-sama, I must have been gone for hours..."

"Hours?"

Yuyuko entered the room fully, now, looking just as confused as Youmu was.

"But it's been maybe a minute or two at most... well, anyway, who's this?"

"Ah..."

Youmu took a deep breath.

"Takamachi-san, this is Saigyouji Yuyuko-sama, my mistress and Princess of the Netherworld. Yuyuko-sama, this is Takamachi Nanoha-san, who... er... I believe she can explain it better, but we have urgent business with Yakumo-sama!"

Yuyuko tilted her head.

"With Yukarin...?"

Okay, should hopefully have something up in the next couple days, I apologize for the wait. ^^;
@jdh97: We're still at the party, so don't feel like you're hugely left behind or anything. You should be able to get back into things smoothly!
Indeed, the Princess was in quite a hurry to approach the crowd, eyes clearly on the lookout for any of those among the ranks of the Iron Rose Knights.

And when one had approached her...

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Sir Rowan," she said, brightly. "I'm so glad you're enjoying yourselves. I'll admit, I expected the Captain to approach first, however... though it seems like she must be a little busy. I think I saw her speaking to a nobleman...?"

Eliabelle peered through the crowds, attempting to pick up the Knight-Captain in her vision as she did. "As long as I get to speak to her tonight, I'll be happy."

After a moment's pause, she continued.

"I heard you defeated that band of criminals that had been raiding towns," she spoke, lightly tilting her head to the side, "You have my deepest gratitude. It was awful knowing that the citizens of Thaln were in danger, and I'm glad that father listened when I asked for you to be sent after them."

Given Lord Velbrance had fled almost immediately after being released, Fanilly was quite relieved to have some excuse to flee as well before any others such as himself chose to approach her. She'd barely spoken to him when they were children, but now it seemed as if he... well, it was clear he didn't approve of her, somehow. But regardless, the princess had wanted to talk to her...

"Oh, Knight-Captain!"

And had evidently seen her.

"At your service, your highness," Fanilly began, bowing with one hand tucked over her chest as she did. It was of course to behave appropriately and treat the princess properly.

"Ah, I'm ever so excited to speak with you! And your knights!" declared the princess, smiling cheerfully.

Violette's shoulder's sagged.

"... I... didn't mean..."

She trailed off. One of the knights had left... she just... she'd been frustrated. She wasn't too excited about tales of battle in the first place, and these knights had been too green to tell anything more then beyond clashes with bandits. It wasn't as if that was a bad thing, but in terms of hearing stories...

Now one of them had left...

"..."

"Er... I apologize, sir knight," Angenese said, bowing her head, the other blonde doing the same. Violette averted her eyes.

Most people hadn't yet noticed her.

And yet, her presence was undeniable.

It was a little girl, no older than nine or ten, seemingly alone as she wandered through the crowds. Her hair was long, past her waist, and raven black, her large green eyes bright and full of life. Her features were soft, rounded, perhaps the epitome of what one would consider an adorable child, though her skin was incredibly pale.

The strangest thing about her was perhaps her outfit. On her head was a wide-brimmed, pointed travelling hat, and her body was dressed in a vest and long skirt, and a shirt with sleeves too long for her hands. It wasn't exactly party wear, really.

She reached out and suddenly tugged the sleeve of the nearest Iron Rose.

"I can't find the sweets... there's so many people here, I keep getting turned around!" she declared, quite clearly not seeming to understand she was talking to a knight, "Can you help me?"
