Thoughts on discord RP?

i've never actually tried discord roleplay — the damn thing eats up my ram to no tomorrow, so using discord at all is entirely out of the question — and i'm quite new to forum roleplay, so i've not a lot of insight on these things. however, taking in mind the strengths and weaknesses of both mediums discussed in the thread, i shall take it upon my humble self to propose a third option. not that i've an ego or anything.
tumblr roleplay meets quite a lot of the 'requirements' you've mentioned, and it's where i hail from in my roleplay journey. i know, i know: tumblr, it's the devil! it's full of far left loonies and is scared of nipples! but, as far as roleplay goes, it's quite versatile as a medium. posts have no character limit, posting times can be as flexible as needed, the available coding seems to exceed discord's (from what i've read)... you can even have your in character, out of character and character sheets all on the same blog, organised by tags. the blogs are also fully customisable, so with a bit of html knowledge you can make a character sheet storage page. not to mention the roleplay resource blogs and countless roleplay pages out there already.
so, if you're alright with deviating from discord, i'd highly recommend it. advertising is easier, too, cause it's all on the same platform. am i blowing my own trumpet here? feel like i am.

I was mulling over the idea of a Discord Server for a bit now. Ever since I posted the interest check up until about 30 minutes ago, I was debating if we needed one. On one hand, I know how convenient it is and easy to talk about relations and/or shit post about various things, but on the other hand, I can recognize that some might not like it, so here's the middleground I propose: the thread will still be here as well as guild pms to anyone for it won't be inactive, but the Discord server will be there as well to anyone who wants it.

In other words, it won't be required to join the discord server.

@CaptainSully Most of everything about Leo seems to be alright by me, but my only issue is the FC you've chosen. While I adore Aaron Taylor-Johnson and think he is a good choice, I think the age you've chosen is just a smidge too young. I'd say either up the age with the current image you're using of Aaron for Leo (aka the one with the beard) or present him without the beard. Alternatively, I could offer suggestions for a younger Aaron.

@Bluetommy I kept going back and forth and after talking with Plank about it, I've come to see that the beard/stubble made Glover look a lot older, but also I don't think it's outlandish to think he couldn't pass for 18. I've known many a people who were a lot older than what they looked and likewise with them looking a lot older than they actually were. So, Derrick is accepted as well!
